A2462ZVmarvins (10/5): Spectacular view and an amazing stay for our proposal - I had my proposal here, the hotel was magnificent and the staff at concierge/reception were amazing and proactive throughout my stay. I had some aircon issues in the first night, which were rectified by the next day. The staff proactively asked me about the issue and gave me a hotel credit to compensate, which I was very pleased with. The photos don’t do the view justice, the opera house looks absolutely huge! The breakfast in the morning was also spectacular, a highlight of our stay. I’d like to shout out Ranyu Kin for helping me plan and execute the particulars of my proposal, she was fantastic and prompt communicator. This stay definitely became a lifelong memory for us!
vikramanony (6/5): Unexpected Checkout, No Communication, and Frustrating Experience - Good hotel and good overall service but lots of uncommunicated hidden ghost policies and lack of transparency in communication. They do not agree they need to be transparent and more proactive in their communications to customers. the hotel has poor communication and lack of transparency. Despite having a confirmed future booking, I was automatically checked out under a hidden ghost 31-day stay policy which was never communicated, with my room access and Wi-Fi disabled without notice. I was never informed that prepayment for my extended stay hadn’t been received from my company—unlike prior stays and my colleagues’ corporate bookings. This caused inconvenience and wasted 30–45 minutes resolving access issues after a long day at work, they were defiant in saying this is a process without accepting the need for clear communication and contact before doing such uncommunicated check outs and disabling the access. Their staff will also remove your items from the fridge and let them rot in open without bothering to put it back.

Having stayed in many 5 star hotels the service here is an absolute standout with every member of staff making you feel so welcome and anticipating your needs.
mzwaters28 (10/5): Exceeded Our Expectations! - We had a one-night post-stay in Sydney after a tour through Australia. The Park Hyatt was amazing. The location, the views, and the customer service are beyond compare to any of the other hotel stays that I have experienced in Sydney. This is my fourth trip to Sydney, so I have stayed at a variety of properties in the city. We were only there for one night, so I didn't get to experience all the hotel had to offer but we did try out the breakfast in The Dining Room, and the food was fantastic, and they offered a variety of breakfast options, all with a view of the Opera House! We also loved our room with a harbor view. It was well worth the upgrade.

Hauke (10/5): Overall we had an amazing stay. It really is a special place. - The view was a highlight. Fantastic outlook directly at harbour and Opera House. Well appointed room. Luxuriously comfortable king bed. I think the reception staff were bordering on impolite. We were ignored for what seemed an unnecessarily long time while 2 staff were attending to one guest inquiry and no acknowledgement that we were waiting. I would have expected a more responsive and professional welcome to the hotel. Also the phone reception is wanting. I made an online booking with no issues. When I rang to make an inquiry about the bed configuration for my children and later check out options, I was given a runaround, the person answering the inquiry was almost incomprehensible and the process was time consuming and it wasn't resolved until I checked in anyway. Surprising for a hotel of this calibre. The rest of the staff including the valets were fantastic.

The concierge staff is top notch. The rooms are beautiful. The service is outstanding. The food and wine is delicious. It literally could not have been better. I highly recommend staying here.

The staff goes out of their way to help and make your stay enjoyable. The food at the restaurant was delicious and same menu offered for room service. The pool on the roof is small but cozy offers great area for relaxation. As Globalist we were upgraded to king deluxe room with opera house view which was lovely. When we needed the extra night Janet at the front desk helped us arrange and made sure we could stay in the same room. Thank you Park Hyatt for an amazing service.

The hotel only has 3 floors and they allocated my room at first floor and it was super noisy and i got woke up many times by the next door closing the door in the morning. Also it was super noisy when the cruise passed in front of the hotel.

markrX4005YP (10/5): 5-Star Property with 5-Star Staff - We stayed here for several nights on our Honeymoon. I’m already wishing I could be back! Our international flight landed well before the afternoon check in. The staff were so kind to accommodate us early. A flower bouquet, note, and sparkling wine were gifted to us shortly after arrival. The harbor side king room we booked was generously sized. The room was pristine and the glass so clean I felt I was sitting in the harbor dock. The property is understated from the outside and warm and contemporary on the inside. The staff truly make this place shine, though. You won’t make it through the lobby without a friendly greeting, which is truly rare in a time where we’re all buried in our screens. That extra effort is rare. I could go on and on about the thoughtful touches and amenities but I’ll get right to the point with the a true highlight: breakfast. The breakfast at this property is outstanding. It’s not just the view, straight at the Opera House, but also the extensive menu and absolutely decadent in-house pastry display. The staff are so attentive too, they knew my morning coffee order by day three. Additionally, The property offers a “Living Room” dining experience which is supposed to be a dressed down, casual version of the Dining Room concept. Don’t let it fool you though, as we certainly had a full gourmet meal harbor-side on one of our nights. All in all I was truly impressed. I was not a Hyatt loyalist prior to this trip and I didn’t have status, either. I’m now finding myself looking up other Park Hyatt properties for my future travel plans.

Staff were over-the-top helpful. The breakfast was among the best we've had. You pay a premium for a room/service at a hotel like this. In this case, it is well worth it! This has been our experience at other Park Hyatt properties, and I highly recommend this property and brand.

Pacalypse (4/5): Not up to "Luxurious hotel standards" - I recently stayed at the Park Hyatt Sydney and while the location is undeniably iconic, the overall experience simply did not justify the $2,400 per night rate. At this price point, expectations are not just high — they are ultra-luxury level. The views of the Opera House are spectacular and the property itself is beautiful, but luxury is defined by service and detail, not just location. There was no personalized welcome note or arrival amenity in the room. Turndown service felt minimal — no chocolates, no thoughtful bedside touches, not even slippers placed by the bed. These may sound like small details, but at $2,400 per night, those details are exactly what separate true luxury from an average five-star stay. I also understand that hotels are required to offer accessible rooms. However, assigning a guest an accessibility-equipped room without request materially changes the layout and aesthetic of the space. At this level, room assignment should feel curated and intentional, not random. Properties charging these rates should be benchmarking themselves against brands like Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton, and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, where proactive, detail-driven service is the norm. Unfortunately, this stay didn’t come close — and it didn’t even compare favorably to the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, which delivered warmer, more attentive service at a far more reasonable rate. Sydney’s luxury hotel market needs stronger competition. When properties can charge ultra-premium rates without delivering ultra-premium service, it shows. At this price, guests deserve an experience that feels exceptional from start to finish — not just a great view.

Best location, fabulous view of the Opera house from my room - so easy to go to the tours which were located about a 10 minute walk. The international cruise terminal is located next to the Hotel, and many good restaurants located next door. Breakfasts were delicious at the hotel / served Asian and traditional breakfast. Rooms - loved the Le Labo amenities and the Toto Washlet toilet. The bedding was so luxurious, room was spacious. Service and the staff were so accommodating. I just wanted to say how fantastic the service in the Living Room and the breakfast room is - quite extraordinarily kind and intuitive and genuine. My one note to the hotel, I presume I pay the same price as a single traveler for a room as two people would pay? I would suggest not dumping single travelers in rooms with the tiny balconies! I appreciate this is a minor issue but it does make you feel slightly that you are getting a bum deal. I would think twice about returning as a single traveler.

We truly felt taken care of and would absolutely stay here again. Don’t listen to any bad review, this is a dreamy hotel.
aa6nz (8/5): Location is beautiful service is not up to par imo - Location and physical surroundings of this hotel are beautiful and views from rooms are world class. I wish the level of service was the same. Every request prior to my arrival had to be done 2+ times. Emails went unanswered and I had to resort to What’s app to get through to the hotel those were answered. I booked through fine hotels with Amex Platinum and paid a full nights room rate in advance to reserve my reservation 6 months in advance. So there is no excuse why one of my benefits early check in wasn’t available upon my early check in. The room upgrade for some reason is never available after the pandemic however. During our stay after a late night out we requested a bucket of ice for a late night cocktail. It never came it was so long I fell asleep and awoke realizing the ice never came. After calling again the ice came in a timely matter. We asked what happened to the first request.. the attendant said they never got it! I’m glad I didn’t have a medical emergency or needed something to eat. A hotel is service 24/7 this is not an air BnB not acceptable. I am spoiled after a 15 day cruise on Regent cruises were service was world class along with a recent trip to Europe including the Four seasons in Paris and the Royal Champagne in Champagne France where the service is world class. I expected more from the Park Hyatt in Sydney. The Park Hyatt in New Zealand had a better level of service where I also stayed prior to my Sydney trip. It seems like The Park Hyatt Sydney is depending on its location more than its level of service. But like all pretty things beauty fades with time but a high level of service lasts forever. I enjoyed Sydney but at the PHS price point I expected more. A high note however was the concierge service which was excellent my suite stay included a free transfer service to and from the hotel which was at a high level of service and professionalism big shout out to them. This trip includes my visit to all Seven Continents now on to more travels.

Fortunately they did move us on the third night upper level which was better. We disappointed when we arrived an hour and a half early that there wasn’t a welcome drink just to say pay you here. And then they forgot to call us or supposedly called the wrong number when our room was ready so we didn’t have to check in till all after the check-in time and we were just waiting in the foyer.

The location is unbeatable with wonderful views and easy access to the City and Harbour. We were warmly welcomed by GM Samuel and thereafter duty managers Gavin and Rick both went out of their way to helpfully attend to any of our requirements in an extremely professional manner. In fact all the staff in all departments…..restaurants, concierge , housekeeping, front desk and valets….were a credit to Hyatt and a pleasure to interact with. We have traveled the World over many years and stayed in numerous hotels……and rate Park Hyatt in Sydney at the very top of the list. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Mark & Greta.

Q6667UTstefank (10/5): The perfect night by Sydney Harbour - Park Hyatt Sydney had not fully convinced us in 2022 - that changed a lot during the night we spent there in December 2025! Welcome at the property located in the unique The Rocks neighbourhood right by the harbour and facing the Opera House was amazing and friendly, an upgrade to an Opera View Room had been arranged, as well as a bottle of champagne as a welcome amenity. The view from our balcony was simply delightful and everything one could wish for at a five-star property was present. Also, the room was clean, but especially in the bathroom area it starts showing its age and calls for some refurbishment in the near future. Furthermore, the tea bag quality should urgently be upgraded. In-room dining was of excellent quality and breakfast's quality was even better with exceptional dishes spoiling us just like our table's location by the window facing the harbour. Breakfast service was delightful as well. We simply enjoyed that perfect night by Sydney Harbour and tried to spend every possible moment on the marvellous balcony. Especially, the far higher level of professional hospitality than at Capella Sydney convinced to the fullest, even though a few front desk team members did not present themselves as most helpful. Still, check-out was excellent and left a great impression.

Even been there in a very crowded time, room was quiet. Very good breakfast, suite is amazing with nice views, very spacious and beautiful bathroom, very clean and nice atmosphere. Bed is excellent. Service provided was amazing. Polite, friendly and warmly staff. Concierge very helpful. My stay was for the NYE package, from December 29th until January 5th, 2026. Very happy with my choice to stay in this hotel.

Firstly the room was beautifully clean and everything about housekeeping fantastic. Breakfast staff fantastic and food great. Especially the staff who have been there a while. Breakfast was very slow. Bar and drinks disappointing. My wife was delivered an aperol spritz in a cracked glass and cut her lip. When she pointed it out to our astonishment the same drink was simply poured into another glass (No No No) I raised it with a young man later that day who said bar manager had day off and never got a response. I tried to raise at reception on check out but too rushed as taxi arrived. Beautiful place but 4/5 not 5/5 this time.

thanutk2023 (2/5): Formal Complaint Regarding Misrepresentation of Room Type and Unacceptable Service - Dear Park Hyatt Sydney Management, I am writing to formally complain about my recent stay at Park Hyatt Sydney, which was extremely disappointing and far below the standards expected of a luxury hotel, especially one classified as Category 8. On the day of check-in, we were assigned Room 333, which was not the room type that had been confirmed to us prior to booking. Before making the reservation, I clearly asked—via email and Instagram—which room offered the best direct view of the Sydney Opera House, specifically a room where the Opera House could be seen directly from the bed. The hotel confirmed this; however, the room we received did not match that description at all. The general manager claimed that Room 333 is a “direct Sydney Opera House view” room. This statement is inaccurate. From inside the room, it is not possible to see the Sydney Opera House from the bed or sofa. In order to see the Opera House, one must step outside onto the balcony and turn to the left, which clearly does not meet the definition of a “direct” view. This room should be classified as a partial Opera House view, not a direct one. The explanation that this room has a “unique view” due to its location is unacceptable. A “unique” view does not justify misrepresenting a room type. “Unique” and “different room type” are not the same. I strongly encourage management to review the definition of the word “direct,” as commonly defined in the Cambridge Dictionary. Additionally, the way the general manager spoke to us was highly unprofessional. He told me not to raise my voice, which was inappropriate and disrespectful, especially considering that we paid for a room that was not delivered as promised. Instead of addressing the issue responsibly, he made us feel as though we were at fault. As a result of this misrepresentation, we lost one night staying in the wrong room type before finally being moved to Room 338 the following night. The inconvenience, frustration, and poor handling of this situation significantly impacted our experience. Overall, this stay felt less like a luxury hotel experience and more like a budget accommodation. The service we received does not reflect the Park Hyatt brand at all. We chose Park Hyatt Sydney with high expectations and trust, yet the experience was deeply disappointing. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. The added benefits of being here for NYE is the cherry on top. The staff (and managers) are kind, friendly, and generous with their time. I cannot wait to return. I never had a bad meal over the 5 days at the hotel and every single individual contributes to the success of the property.

Happily the service is much better now and we loved our stay.
