- Karen (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): - Folks at the desk were so helpful and friendly. Same with all staff we encountered. The location is great and close the subway. Our room was nice and was exactly as shown in the photos bur small. No room for a comfortable chair to lounge in. The best shower--lots of hot water. No
- Luciana Ines (6/5): -
- Elizabeth (6/5): Enjoyed the stay and the art deco vibe however rooms very small for price - Location was fabulous . Breakfast was great Rooms were small. The bath was small, the towels were small for showering and storage space was tiny

- Marilee (7/5): Fabulous location. - The location is amazing.
Room is a decent size. Room was underdecorated and very clinical. It felt like a motel room.
- Robert scott (8/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): - Great location, helpful friendly staff really nice place The bathroom light didn’t work.
- Janne (9/5): Wer das Village liebt, ist hier perfekt aufgehoben - Lage und Einrichtung

- Marylou (8/5): - The staff were excellent. They were friendly, very helpful and personable to all who entered and left the building. The cleaning staff were very accommodating when I needed the room to be cleaned at different times. I felt very safe and cared for. The location is incredibly convenient. The dining area is a great space for guests to use their laptops or snack after breakfast, or work remotely. My bathtub had a large chip on the floor that is a simple fix. It needs to be repaired. Also, the extra chair was not typical for a hotel room but a kitchen. It was uncomfortable.
- Debra (9/5): Nice hotel and the rooms felt large for NYC and comfortable - Great location
- Katherine (7/5): - Location
Quiet street Not very good security
- Laura (10/5): -

- Måns (10/5): Bästa boendet i NYC - Jag har bott här flera gånger under flera år. Lika trevligt varje gång! Självklart blir det WSH även vid nästa besök. Denna ruta blir helt tom eftersom jag gillade allt
- Guillermo Ferraris (10/5): - This is a beautiful classic hotel, with a timeless charm and ambiance. The location is one of the best in NYC, a few steps away from the heart of the Village, Washington Square Park. One block away from the Subway is also a plus, for quick access anywhere in town. Great service, anytime of day. The complimentary continental breakfast is excellent. N/A
- Alana (8/5): Would definitely stay here again and would 100% recommend to others! - The location is absolutely fantastic. So close to bars, restaurants, parks, and main subway lines. Friendly staff. Free coffee and pastries in the morning. Our room looked into the middle of the building so it was kind of dark (would be a positive for most because zero city noise though). This isn’t really a complaint I may just look at a different type of room next time.
- Jessica (8/5): Welcoming and peaceful visit. A nice place to stay in the heart of it all. - Very clean with a nice public space. Coffee and tea until 11 pm was a nice touch. Bathrooms were large with nice products Furnishings are dated but very clean and comfortable
- Vicki Hoover (9/5): Great stay in Greenwich Village - This was a great hotel and great location in Greenwich Village.
We were able to walk to dinner and to a comedy show. Very walkable and lots to do around the hotel.
I thought it was a good value as well. We enjoyed out stay!
- ColoradoTraveler1120 (8/5): Great location and a very nice hotel - We enjoyed our stay here while visiting our son in the West Village and exploring together across the city. Front desk service was attentive and friendly. Our room was quite nice and having a window that would open a few inches for fresh air was a good benefit. Everything went fine. The rating here is four stars, not five, only in that this is a four-star hotel. As such, it is an excellent one.
- robC56FY (8/5): Charming Hotel - Lovely and charming hotel. Perfectly situated in Greenwich Village. I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was warm and quiet. I would have wished the dining room was open. The pastries were cold.
- lennon (9/5): -
- Mike (8/5): - location Breakfast was very basic

- Sue (9/5): -

- Maria (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The property has a truly charming atmosphere and is exceptionally well maintained. Everything is carefully looked after, which creates a very pleasant and comfortable environment for guests.
The staff are highly professional, attentive, and genuinely focused on guest satisfaction. A small situation perfectly illustrated this: one day I asked about drinking straws and was told they were not available at the moment. The very next day, however, they were already placed next to the juice station. This is a great example of truly listening to and responding to guests’ needs.
The only small thing I missed in the room was a kettle, which would have made the stay even more comfortable.
Special greetings and thanks to Marta, who contributed to making my stay even more enjoyable.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- D5331LAchrisj (10/5): really enjoyed my stay - great experience at a lovely hotel. Very friendly nd professional staff and a beautiful and convenient location. the room was very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast staff were very friendly. thank you for a great stay!
- Kristine (10/5): Great boutique hotel! - Great location! Easy walk to restaurants, parks, and shops. Beds and linens were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great coffee and pastries in the morning.
- Christina (10/5): - Great location. Friendly staff. Loved the convenience of grabbing a quick pastry diabetes m downstairs before heading out for the day. Comfortable bed and the bathroom had everything you need. 10/10 recommend!
- Ayers (8/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): a great location and a well-maintaine historic hotel - Room was comfy and clean. Bedding was excellent. Bathroom well stocked. A place to take the trash from my room and throw it away - in the lobby? I would like more drink options at the lounge besides coffee.
- Isabelle (8/5): -
- RobinMillerCooks (10/5): A gem in the village - Absolute perfection! I had a wonderful stay at Washington Square Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated at the corner of Washington Square Park, so it's like a calm oasis in the heart of bustling Manhattan. Plus, the vibe of NYU's college campus is invigorating.
The accommodations were spotless - my room was clean, well appointed, and maintained with daily housekeeping. The bed was comfortable, the shower was refreshing, and all amenities were decidedly upscale.
Morning coffee was delicious, and alive with hotel guests.
The staff was exceedingly friendly, and always available to answer questions.
I'm very much looking forward to my next stay!
- Elisa (6/5): -
- Nancy (9/5): -
- Oded (8/5): -
- Magali (8/5): Average in a location that I needed and liked. - The location, the staff (especially the lovely cleaning lady). The bathroom and shower were great. But it was location, location and location. Nice There was not a glass to drink from in my room (not even paper) and I did not get the wake-upcall I had requested. [I was charging my phone so I did not have an alarm] I think it was a bit expensive for a very small room called "superior."
- Christine (10/5): - Staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating. Super helpful and kind.
- Louise (9/5): A wonderful place to stay with lovely staff. - The breakfast attendants were delightfully cheerful and friendly. It would have been much nicer if they had put hardwood floors in the rooms instead of laminate.
- WorldTraveler2026 (10/5): Charmed in the City! - My room was charming, clean, and offered a spectacular view of the city! The staff were friendly, polite, professional and helpful; housecleaning ensured my accommodations stayed stocked and immaculate!
- ritalearningcircles (10/5): Comfortable rooms overlooking Washington Square Park - I chose Washington Square for it's great location. Appreciated the friendly reception staff who suggested good restaurants and transit routes. When a large winter storm rolled in the cafe served as a comfortable place to warm up and visit with friends. A home away from home.
- Md (3/5): It was an okay experience - Value for the price. Clean, nice staff, no frills, room size for the perfect traveler who just needs a comfortable bed to sleep in. It had everything I needed. Would stay here again - in the summer! I liked everything except couldnt control the heat - the radiator was scalding hot. At one point it was 80 degrees, so I had to open the windows a crack and then it got cold again and drafty, but I ended up calibrating it the right way, but interrupted my sleep.
- Davis (9/5): - The staff was great, the family was clean and convenient. Love the morning pastries. I was a little disappointed that the lounge wasn't open for dinner.
- Sarah (10/5): I felt very relaxed and slept great! - Very nice. Great location. I think it’s really nice
- Catherine (8/5): All around very good choice for a room in that neighborhood. - Great location, attractive style, clean. The room was uncomfortably hot and we couldn’t find a way to turn the heat down.
- greggers1 (10/5): A great stay in the heart of the village ! - We had a wonderful stay at the Washington Square Hotel. There was a nice breakfast included and the room was cosy. The hotel is right by Washington Square and close toThe Comedy Cellar, Bitter End & Blue Note and a couple of metro stations, which is really good news in the winter time when walking around in NYC can be very chilly !
- Thomas (8/5): - Location and character. Price.
- David (8/5): Great place to stay for work. - Great location! Nothing, it was great.
- Yao (10/5): -
- Frédéric (10/5): - Franchement, tout était super ! Je n'ai pas exagéré dans mes réponses au questionnaire. Je le recommanderai à mes amis et j'y retournerai lors de mon prochain séjour à New York.
- Mia (8/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): 0 - bed was comfortable, room clean , perfect location for us to go to NYU graduation room looked out onto wall of another building with windows which was ok but the curtians wouldnt close all the way
- Sarah (10/5): I came to NYC for a girls trip and I loved this hotel; I loved the vibe, it was clean and comfortable, the staff was fri - The vibe was vintage, eclectic, funky; the location was great
- Pierre (8/5): - Super emplacement. Personnel agréable. Chambre assez spacieuse et calme. Un certain charme. Porte des chambres mal isolée. Équipements un peu anciens.
- Hetty (10/5): Great find! Best place to stay if you love the Village! - Excellent value and amazing location. Comfortable and has character. Room was small. But this is NY—of course it is!
- Rajesh (8/5): -
- Alexa (9/5): Toller Aufenthalt in NYC - Tolles Hotel, familiär, sehr freundlicher Service, sehr gute Lage.
- Chih-Wen (10/5): -
- Sue Carlin (4/5): Disappointing - Room was OK - not great. Major updates needed. With no F&B available in the hotel (was not made aware in advance and renovations have been happening since July 2025?!?!), and was also disappointed that the management did not provide water or coffee service in the room.
Bathroom has mold issues. View of brick wall from window in bedroom. Guest rooms/bathrooms need major updates.
- Peter (9/5): Wonderful place to stay in Greenwich Village - Very nice and interesting hotel, lots of character, very clean, great staff. Facilities were good including the fitness room and the breakfast room. Breakfast was good. The rooms are a bit dated/old and a bit small.
- Rita (8/5): - Cute boutique hotel. Great location. We weren't there very long. The room was small, but it worked for us.
- Bortone (10/5): Super consigliato - Ospitalità Nulla
- Michele (8/5): -
- Huxley (4/5): Hemingway stayed here & YOU SHOULD NOT! Especially if it's an important occasion. Seriously - I like most of the people very much and it's a historic property. BUT if u are on a date or an anniversary or something important, THEN I WOULD NEVER have people stay here. It legit looks feels and smells like a nursing home.the breakfast consists of spoiled orange juice and two large boxes of stail bread. (Also u can get yougert or the one and only piece of fruit that support, and that's a banana 🤦🏻♂️🤣. It was cool for me as a single guy on biz BUT if u take a date or an in law or an important workmate to this place, then u have only urself to blame cuz u were told, this isn't a place to impress or celebrate. It's a place to sleep and not take anymore u know🤣. (And also a place to deff skip breakfast) The room, the floors, the heating situation, the house keepers protocols and ways honestly, and the breakfast (and btw every single guest has the same look on their face when the walk into breakfast. 🤣U should hide a camera and witness how the public feels when they walk into ur Continental BARELY THERE-FEST. My advice is to simply spend twice as much and TRY to compete with what a low end red roof in or comfort in actually provides. It's about twice as much food options then ur current selection and it would truly be better to shut breakfast down and just give the guests a menu from a local breakfast restaurant the night before and let them take care of biz. 🤷🏻♂️(Also fix ur clocks, figure out why u can't get a good signal online so u can fix it AND TELL THE housekeeping ladies to double check that guests didn't leave a window open. I day this because I couldn't get my room warm and I had a miserable night only to find at 8 am the next morning that, behind a curtain, was a window that was left 12 inches open🤦🏻♂️. I'm sure the housekeeper has someone else she can blame , but the truth is that had I been an old or sick person,I totally could have died from pneumonia, AND ALL she needs to do ,to avoid that reality IS MAKE SURE WINDOWS are closed, esp during winter. it can be avoided if they will simply add one item to the checklist. U have a great team. Please train them to be great enough not to hurt anyone on accident, it ain't just about liability, it's about how ur gonna feel the rest of ur life, if u could have implemented or enforced a policy that would have saved a life. (I.e. guilt is a terrible thing, esp in hindsight
- hollymR3379KS (10/5): Spotless. Comfy. We loved it. - Immaculate room! Clean spacious bathroom, lovely bed linens & towels. The location can’t be beat. Staff was helpful and responsive. We will be back. What a gem.
- DrStroke (10/5): Ticked all the boxes - Quiet room. Small but expected as such. Fine wifi. Comfortable beds. Every staff member was pleasant but especially the two at breakfast. We loved being in the village. Even though for just a few days, I had my pizza place, bar, and cafe. Allowed me to feel like a new yawker. New York isn't cheap, but this property offered good value with comfortable space, nice ambiance, and friendly staff
- Lachlan (8/5): -
- Agnes (10/5): - Everything was excellent, very good location, clean room with a nice city view, complimentary breakfast, possibility to have a coffee or tea from lobby when needed A little bit too warm in the room, although it was possible to open the window a bit, it didn't help much
- Madeleine (10/5): -

- Chew (9/5): Quiet Hotel For Tourists - Super quiet location. Nearby to bars (McDougal St). Washington Square Park and the subway are on the each corner.
Only a few stops to all the tourist hotspots.
Greenwich is a great neighbourhood. Couldn't complain about anything.
Full disclosure I was out of the hotel early in the morning and didn't return until late at night. Didn't have breakfast or use the lounge/bar.
- Dan (8/5): -
- bayareagirlok (6/5): Great location, mediocre hotel - Pro - nice, friendly, helpful staff, great location, quiet area, although you're always at the mercy of your room neighbors in a hotel. Mostly clean. Although toute to breakfast room needed a good vacuum. Great fluffy towels. Good shower pressure and hot water. Decent windows and blackout curtains. Warm rooms in winter.
Cons - hotel needs updating, rooms are old and tiny. Paud a lot over the holidays for what we got. Continental breakfast was very limited and they even stopped including fruit with the ridiculous excuse that the supplier didn't bring bananas and local ones were too green. In NYC, no fruit to be found. They could easily ditch a couple of the pastries and provide one other different thing, like fruit or cheese. No restaurant for the last half a year and no hotel bar.
If you get a good deal, this hotel would be fine but don't pay over the top because what they deliver is modest.
- Michael (10/5): - Receptionist was extremely friendly and accommodating- we were able to drop off our things and a small upgrade made for the perfect day
- Catherine (10/5): Wonderful getaway! - Staff, location, comfortable bed. Nothing
