The room was small but perfect for one person. I was happy to have enough hanging space and a full length mirror which surprisingly many places do not have! The location is fantastic. There is a supermarket just across the street and lots of great food options in the area. Super close walk to Kings Cross station and a bus stop also virtually outside the front door. All of the staff I encountered were super lovely and helpful. This is an older hotel but well maintained and such great value for money compared to what's available in Sydney.

- DEVLIN (7/5): Spacious Rooms - The rooms were spacious and came with a bath tub. I had a room with views of Elzabeth Bay catching the morning sunrises. This alone was a bonus for me as I enjoyed a hot morning drink with the sunrise veiws from the room window. The directions for finding the rooms and laundry was confusing. The staff didnt really engage as you entered or exited the lobby. The TV didn't work in the room. Needs a bit of colour in the hallway.

- Kirsty (5/5): Older hotel in good location. Ok for a quick overnight stay and clean. Rooms are very small. - The location is amazing. The hotel however is old and rundown in places. It needs a multimillion dollar makeover. The staff do the best they can. For a quick stay though if you just need a place to wash and sleep if in town on a busy weekend or quick overnight stay, its ok. Just ask to stay at level 2 or above as lower level rooms have that old musty sewerage / damp smell about them and no open windows for fresh air. The lower ground level rooms. I did have to ask to move to a better room, however the staff were VERY accommodating. The second room was smaller, but it was clean, better furniture and had a better bed.

The staff were friendly and helpful It was not disability friendly and I couldn’t stay the second night due to feeling uncomfortable needing to use stairs after a surgery on my knee. The facilities were clean but the room was split levels, had very creaky floors, low bed and very uncomfortable pillows just was not ideal for recovering after surgery but that’s really my fault. I’d stay here again if I was just going out partying or something

- Fussy_9791 (6/5): Tired hotel. - This hotel is very dated and tired. The furnishings and decor clearly haven’t been updated for a long. Minimal facilities and service. They don’t clean rooms and any towels etc are available on request. I think they could offer a bit more in this respect. The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are of a decent size. Just don’t expect much in the way of comfort.

The slippers looked well used with no impression of them being washed. After 5 min wearing my white socks they were filthy. The floor was gritty and dirty, we used a provided towel to brush the dirt of before putting on our shoes. There was a bandaid in the bath outlet (not ours). The bedroom fan did not work. With a good general clean this property would be so much better.

Feels like the decor as well as the rooms haven’t received any renovation since 1965. The mattresses seemed just as old and were super worn out. There was a blood stain on one of our bed sheets. It was gross.

Firstly the superior room don't have a study desk, superior is very small compared to the standard room, however standard room which I initially booked had no windows and this information was not provided on the website. Had to pay AUD 30 for an upgrade. The room was kinda smelly and you don't do room cleaning services daily. There is nothing lively in the room. I would not recommend anyone staying here and iam not staying at this hotel ever.

Proche des transports pour aller en direction des plages. Belle vue de la baie, de la chambre. Je remercie l'hôtel Devere qui m'a attribué une chambre double, alors que j'avais réservé une chambre simple.

- Rosalie (10/5): - We're half way during our stay. We love staying at the Devere Hotel - we have been guests there for over twenty years and our experience has always been good. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. Times change and the hospitality industry has to adapt and keep competitive. We travel to Sydney for medical appointments mostly. Thank you Devere for accommodating us when needs arise particularly post surgery

I think the bath in the bathrooms could be removed and open showers put in as older people are unable to climb in and out without assistance. It would also make it easier for young children and adults.

Furniture was a little scuffed. The staff member I dealt with was very pleasant and allowed me to book in early which was very helpful. I was also able to leave my bag after a late checkout; (10.30am), so I could browse the shops. I would stay here again.
