It seems like one of us will sleep on the floor tonight as I have just been told that the hotel is fully booked and they don’t have a room to move us to… Fun. Just like we expected for a VIP customer of Expedia.

They really welcome you here and genuinely try and make your stay enjoyable. No issues with picking us up at midnight after a delayed flight, gave us some free lemonde at one point, and when my daughter got sick they let us stay late until we could check in early at next hotel. Plus view from 3rd floor deluxe was fantastic. Overall a wonderful introduction to istanbul!

The Staff were welcoming and offered a drink and familiarised me with the property and the surrounds. My room was compact but fresh and clean with a wonderful view across the Golden Horn to the Sultanahmet and Bazaar District's skyline. The Hotel is well located close Galata Tower and and walking distance to the Shopping and Dining areas around Istiklal Caddesi in Beyoglu. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Our room was very comfortable with really nice sea view overlooking the bridge. Location was a little out of the way in lighting district but close to main tourist area. Street was quiet at night but a little noisy in the morning with people working in the area. Very good value for the money. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is near the Galata Tower and also near the Galata Bridge where you can take public transportation to the Dolmabahçe Palace and other main highlights. The staff is very friendly and professional. Mohammed was amazing with all his recommendations for dinner. Emir was always so helpful and he makes the best lemonade. Finally my favorite of all! Osmen Bay. I spent three weeks in Türkiye. I was missing my cat and Osmen (the sweetest cat owned by the hotel) was so nice to keep me company and give me cuddles. Thank you everyone for making my last 5 days in Istanbul memorable.
- Anna (10/5): - This is a great small hotel close to Galata Tower. Hotel owner and staff are super nice and friendly. Breakfast included great variety of food. Rooms are kind of small in size. We booked a 'superior room' but it barely had space to walk around the bed. We had free upgrade to a larger room after we complained to the hotel owner. Hotel location is good for the Galata area, but next time we would prefer to stay in the old town.
- Cam Minh (10/5): Immaculate hospitality, wonderful experience - This is such a wonderful hotel. Their hospitality is nowhere near the level that is normally provided nowadays. They’re always willing to help, genuinely kind and so fun to talk to. Every guest stops at front desk on their way out and back to have a conversation with staff. They care about you, they’re easy to deal with and everything there is simply so smooth. Breakfast is amazingly fresh and varied. Such good value for money as well. Their cat Osman is a lovely guy that hangs around and makes everything seem so chill and enjoyable, as was our stay af Doruk Palas Hotel. Thank you so much for everything! Hospitality like this is so rare to find these days. I highly recommend this hotel, come here and you will not be disappointed!

- Vlad (8/5): - Overall a good stay at Doruk - a decent price/value stay, however nothing incredible (so just as expected for what you pay, not some deal as some reviews make it sound) Staff and cats are very friendly and personal. Probably the highlight of our stay. Room a bit unmaintained especially in bath (toilet moving, sink tap not attached etc.). However it’s functional given the price. Room was sold as Sea View however our 1st floor room did not really have any view from the bed. Area around is not nice, abandoned buildings and shops that close very early. However, it did not fell particularly unsafe. It’s quiet (except the prayer call, but that’s expected for Istanbul) so got good sleep. All in all, like I said at the start its what you expect for the price.

Mr. Osman, the Hotel manager (also happens to be a Cat), was extremely friendly and always happy to greet us. The rest of the staff (humans) were super helpful and catered to every need we had (transport, recommendations, food, etc.). Our hotel room was very clean and fully stocked. We had the room with views to the Golden Horn, which was always breathtaking upon waking up. This is a hotel where you will feel at home. Staff will often join you for coffee as they explain their culture and traditions. It’s a very homey experience, which is what I prefer compared to corporate hotel chains that may offer more luxury while lacking any “heart”. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was a traditional Turkish breakfast, with plenty, and always offered tea and coffee, and freshly prepared eggs. On top they where always on the look to find a way to help or guide/recommend you on the places to visit or eat.

They were so generous with us (and from what we could see, with the other guests too) with their time, — welcoming us and answering the myriad of questions we had about Istanbul, transportation, etc. The room was comfortable and clean. We were on the first floor, so there was a little bit of noise from the laneway, but nothing too disturbing. The location was convenient - walkable to Taksim, Galata tower, Galata bridge in 15-20 minutes.

In summary: Location: - close to metro so it's easy to get to Sultanahmet without staying in a crowded, loud, expensive neighborhood - close to Galata tower and cute restaurants - on a quiet street Hotel: - AMAZING free breakfast! This was a priority for me and it did not disappoint - Every staff member we interacted with was so lovely and we got great tips on how to spend our time in Istanbul - They proactively reached out to see if we wanted an airport transfer, which was super convenient - There are 2 friendly hotel kitties if you're a cat person (I'm not but they left me alone) Room: - We stayed in a "Superior" room, which was not super spacious but we didn't spend much time there anyway! The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were very nice - The view of the Bosphorous was so cool! - Ahmet graciously accommodated our request to move to a room with 2 twin beds when one opened up (my boyfriend is a wiggly sleeper so it's hard for us to sleep in the same bed), which I so appreciated! The two twin room also had a bit more space. - The rooms were very quiet, which I appreciated as a light sleeper. The beds were also very comfortable. - AC was a little wonky in our 1st room but great in the 2nd room! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. All in all it's a well run, clean hotel with great service in an awesome location.

- Mohammad (10/5): - Property is neat and clean. The behaviour of the staffs were really appreciating. As a whole I recommend to stay here.
- Soledad (10/5): - What a fantastic hotel! Everyone is very kind and helpful. It’s family run so it doesn’t feel like those hotel chains with no personality. I will be back!

- Andrew (10/5): - Ahmed and his family were so welcoming, and they were so helpful during my stay- also suggesting loads of places to visit around the area food, hammam and sights! The location of this hotel is great also, within walking distance of the old city (7-10 mins) and the hip Galata and Karakoy area (5 mins). Would come back for sure!
- Ozan (10/5): - Amazing place to stay at in Istanbul! This was our first time in Istanbul and we are so glad we found this hotel. The rooms are really clean, have amazing views and beds are really comfortable. The breakfast is lovely and the front desk staff are really friendly and helpful, this also includes the main man Mr Osman(the cat). The manager, Ahmet, has amazing restaurant recommendations, hamam and sight seeing areas. You will definitely be looked after in this hotel!!

- Sahanna (10/5): - Lovely hotel for visiting Istanbul. Very easy to walk to nearby restaurants and close to the tram station for getting to the old city. We especially appreciated the delicious breakfast in the morning as well as the overall hospitality of the staff - they were so kind and helpful throughout our entire stay! Special shout-out to Mr. Usman, the resident cat, for making our stay special!
- Darshan (10/5): Excellent hotel with amazing staff - Had a really pleasant stay at Doruk Palas in March. Room was big enough for a couple and furnished nicely. The best part about our stay was the staff. They were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. The 2 cats in the lobby were an extra bonus! Super calm and friendly animals. The location of the hotel was also great, with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby and a close walk to the metro, bus and tram stops. Super quiet area of the neighbourhood! Would definitely recommend anyone visiting Istanbul to stay here.
