Awais (10/5): - I stayed at the Galata Times Hotel during my trip to Istanbul and had a truly great experience. From the moment I checked in, Rahim at the front desk was super welcoming and kind. He really went out of his way to help me, arranging my tours and transportation so I didn’t have to worry about anything. The location couldn’t be better, Galata Tower is just a couple of minutes away on foot, and Istiklal Street is also close by, which made it easy to explore the city. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable, with a nice vibe. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. Overall, this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve had. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul. Huge thanks to Rahim for making my stay extra enjoyable.

Hayat (8/5): - When we checked in, the room reserved had two major concerns: first, the AC was turning off every two hours which caused so much disturbance to our sleep as it was very hot weather in Istanbul. Second, the room carpet was very dirty and stained. We raised our concern to the receptionist a few times. At first, they informed us there was no other room available. After three days, we were granted another room with better flooring (less stain and much clean) but the AC issue was similar in both rooms. The receptionists and the lady at the restaurant (breakfast was included) were very kind and supportive. The location is great as it is walking distance from Galata Tower and Teksim - Istiklal area. I am sure with some attention to details like changing the room flooring and fixing the AC issue, this hotel can earn a 5 star rating.

Excellent metro access from the IST airport as well as to Grand Bazar, Sultanahmet historical district via tram. Also enjoyed the Istanbul sunset views, excellent breakfast from the roof top bar. You can find all you want to do in Galatar district including shopping, restaurants/outdoor bars, art gallery. Wonderful staff and charming hotel cat too!

haeaq (8/5): Honest review - summarized - I will write about my experiance trying to be fair and straight forword to the points, I stayed there for more than five days. Location: The location is the highlight of this hotel, within walking distance to Galata tower, that alot of tourist go to, also close to the İstiklal Avenue, you could also walk to the Galata port 14-15 min. During our stay we didn't use taxis at all. However, Istanbul has a lot of hills and the hotel is placed at the upper area. Service: The staff are very welcoming and kind, Resit the reception guy was nice and even offered us a second room due to bed configuration missundersanding. Raheem is another reception guy who was very talkative and gave us valuabe inforamtion about shops in istanbul, was avaibalbe to help in anything if we needed. Room: Room is clean and has nice furniture, size is small, however this is expected since Istanbul has bigger population and the hotel is placed at the heart of the city, most hotels would have small rooms. In addition, Keep in mind, each floor has four rooms only, if you are booking a room with balcony then it's a balcony with no view or sun as mentioned by other reviews. Sound isolation is medium. Breakfast: Breakfast was available from 8:00am to 10:30am and it is on the top floor which has a very nice view of Istanbul. Food was good, however they could have more options. The staff were very nice especially Simin who works there, was very kind and made our experience better. Reception-area: Hotel is small, and the reception area is very small as well. Taxi-service to the airport: Warning!!! do not book with the hotel the yellow taxi service. use online services instead - We booked the airport taxi from the hotel and we were promised a fixed price which we agreed upon, however when we got to the airport the taxi driver got greed and rasied the price. I had to argue and refuse mutiple time which was horrible experience. I don't think it's the hotel staff fault, I think the driver just got greed and thought he could get more money from us. This was not a good experiance since you might be trying to catch a flight and you wouldn't argue and pay the extra money, they don't take payment until you arrive at the aitport, which is done on purpose. I contacted the hotel and they apologised for this experanice and they promised to take actions against this. Conclusion, the hotel is nice in general, however I wish they were honest about the balecony as I wouldn't mind since the location was good. I would rather to book a room without a balocony but has a sun or light that enters the room, the room was advertised with a balcony which defentaly increases the price for no reason. Room size didn't matter that much since most of the time we were outside the hotel.

The location is in the heart of shopping and attractions. The suite was roomy and comfortable. We were very happy with our choice and we would stay there again
jtcs (10/5): Best location, best staff, best cleanliness - Offered us a free upgrade on arrival. Rahmi at reception was also super friendly and helpful, providing us with recommendations of where to shop and eat, and places to avoid (overpriced, scammy, tourist traps). The room was also very clean and water pressure good. It was the best out of the 4 hotels we stayed at in Turkey. Location cannot be better. Right outside Shisane train station which is easy to get to from IST airport by train. And this area is much nicer than Taksim or Sultanahmet.

Rahmi was a great person and always tried to help. Thank you very much. The only negative point was that the air condition did not cool donw my room and it was for me too warm. But this should change in summer time.

rsn_sk (8/5): Great location - Stayed here in September 2024 with friends and family. Location is awesome, right next to Şişane metro and the Galata tower is literally a few minute walk. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. I had friends who were staying at a hotel close by who ended up checking into this hotel. I truly believe the staff make it this place feel welcoming. Our room was overlooking the train station so at night can be a little loud with people singing etc (I didnt mind it) I did find that at the initial arrival of the room. it was highly scented for my liking (I have low tolerance to synthetic fragrance) I did have to leave the bedroom windows open at all times, which wasn't an issue for me as we were on a higher floor. my friends in the room below didn't find it as an issue or my other friends who checked in. Breakfast was great with a view and again the staff were lovely. I do recommend this place as its perfectly located next to the metro giving you access to the city.

Marjorie (6/5): Great Location! - The Galata Times Hotel was a bit of a surprise, both good and bad. The location is wonderful as it is close to the Galata Towers, the famous Istiklal Street and a plethora of hotels and shops. We’ve eaten at the lovely rooftop restaurant at this hotel before, but we’ve never stayed at this hotel. Unfortunately, the room was much smaller than I had expected. There was a terrible odor of sewage in the hallway and in the room. And there were hairs on my boyfriend‘s pillow. The mattress was a little harder than I preferred. The shower was amazing and the bathroom was spacious. One of the best things about this hotel is the staff. They were kind, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is the other best thing about this hotel. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Kudos to Resit, Barrett, Hasan and Yusel. Thank you for taking great care of us.

Breakfast was delicious. And view from Breakfast place was breathtaking. Only downside is the staff during breakfast doesnt really offer any help or ask. They just stand and watch. Also they cover the bread out of reach. Not sure why. Otherwise best hotel in the area. I would stay again.
_douglasrojas (10/5): Chucky is the best employee ♥ - The hotel is very well located, close to the Şişhane metro station and the Galata Tower. The room is a bit small but it is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good and has incredible views. The staff is very friendly especially Chucky. Early check in is available for a small fee. If you need a hotel with a good breakfast, a comfortable and clean room, centrally located because it is your first time visiting Istanbul, this is an excellent option.

We were not disappointed as GTBH is very well located. The staff are very helpful with the lady receptionist more so. Rooms, albeit small, are very well kept and good to return to after a day out. The view from the top floor where a hearty breakfast is served is just stunning. The internet played up some days and it was a shame not having any international tv channel. But there was not much time for these activities as there is so much to do in this vibrant city.

Special mention to Simin, Rashit, and Osman who went out of their way to make us welcome, comfortable, and always attended to our needs. Simin arranged for our Turkish bath reservation while I was in US through whatsapp. Rashit guided us in navigating the tram system and even gave us a tram card to top off.,Osman helped us with our luggages and escorted us out to our waiting van at 3am. Not to mention the rooms are clean, bed comfortable, toiletries always fully stocked, and breakfast at the rooftop cafe superb with incredible views. Istanbul is a beautiful city and everyone should visit it and stay at Galata Times. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!
Shamama (6/5): - Great location, nice clean rooms with good staff. Breakfast was really bad. Water was cold one evening and following morning.

GARY (6/5): Why are there condoms in the fridge? - It is a typical Istanbul small room hotel, if you have been to Istanbul before it is pretty much as expected. Room was clean and no problems, breakfast was standard Turkish breakfast. 2 issues I had (minor) were breakfast was from 8AM, this is too late for me as I had to be somewhere for 08:30 start for work so I could not have breakfast on 2 days. Also why were there 2 condoms in the fridge? Really tacky to see that and no necessary at all.
Kwang Bae (10/5): - So clean and high ceiling , modern styled interior! All of the staff are kind. The breakfast didn’t exceed too much and the view was great!
Caroline (10/5): - The staff was what set this hotel apart. They had great tips on what to explore in the city, and even gave us a city commuter pass to use for the street car that had pre-loaded money on it. On our last day, we had to leave for the airport the free hotel breakfast opened, and the front desk went above and beyond to get us breakfast early and coffee to go. Only downside is that the rooms are fairly small, but the hotel made up for it in service.

NikoZero2 (4/5): Cosy but small rooms - Great wiew from the roof. Nice and polite staff. Positive that it is nearby centrum of the city and to busstop and taxistops and to the ferryport. The room is very small. Not so much noice from the street in daytime. I can recomend this little hotel.

Elizabeth (10/5): - This boutique hotel was a real gem. Modern, clean, excellent location, right next to metro, and just a few minutes walk to Galata Tower. Breakfast was excellent as well, and the view from the breakfast area was beautiful.

Joanna Janet (10/5): - Ideal location for shopping, eating and access to other areas of Istanbul (metro immediately opposite). Area seemedsafe and clean. Stunning views of Galata Tower and Karakoy from rooftop restaurant. Family connecting rooms were great. Reasonable minibar and modern shower.
Arlette (10/5): - Clean and centrally located. Steps to the metro. Only criticism is they provided a coffee machine but not the coffee pods. What’s the point if you don’t have pods to use it. We had to call them every night to make sure we have coffee pods for the morning. They limit 2 pods only.
Munevver (10/5): - Staff are very helpful and lovely people. If we needed advice on where to go they were always available. The property was clean and very comfortable. Only downside was my room was facing the main road where people sit to watch sunset and musicians play, it was pretty noisy and went on till 2am . Other then that it was a great experience and would stay there again. Located near metro which was convenient and Galata tower where there wete loads of shops cafes and restaurants

Patrick (10/5): Great choice! - Really great hotel. Modern, clean and amazing location. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Rooms are not big, but fit us and our bags without problem. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars and cafes, and a the metro is right outside the door. Short walk to the Galata and hundreds of stores. A great find.

Emma-Louise (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff made the stay very easy and enjoyable. Breakfast had a wide selection of food and roof area where you eat was really pretty. Location was amazing, with view of the Galata tower, plenty of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. Dry cleaning service proved handy to us and was efficient. Room was clean and modern with all the expected amenities. Our room had no window so didn't get any natural light, instead it had a balcony for smoking which was unpleasant, covered in pigeon poo and inbetween buildings so very dark, and had some kind of generator/boiler on it which was noisy through the night and kept me awake - this is what brings it down to 4 star for me. Would recommend upgrading to one of the more premium rooms!

The room, the shower water pressure the bed,,, wow,, i could have stayed in bed all day long,,, The breakfast on the terrace with amazing views and such beautiful staff, gracious and friendly,,, And the location,,,,, right in the middle of everything and public transportation,,, two minutes from the Galata tower, about o minutes to the Galata bridge and the value for the money,,, it doesn't get better than this. A REAL GEM IN THE HEART OF ISTANBUL.
