• Luis (1/5): Hotel is not well maintained - Nothing other than it was cheap for 3 nights. Only stayed for 2 nights It wasn’t well maintained or resembled the pictures that are on the booking page. It reeked like cigars. Arrived at a dirty room with dirty sheets and appliances. Had to buy Clorox wipes and Febreze. The roaches came out at night and crawled all over the sheets the second night. Bathroom looked like it went a rough season with mildew buildup.
• Ernestine (1/5): Another Terrible Booking.com Listing - The spacious front porch. Wifi was good. Working microwave & mini fridge in the room. Like a lot of other cheap accommodations on booking.com, Pads on Pasadena is awful. Very dirty, very run down. The house is over 100 yrs old & I don't think it's ever been remodeled. Poorly maintained property. The place is infested with roaches & other bugs (esp. in the bathrooms). No toilet paper in the two bathrooms (you have to bring your own). Ancient air conditioner blows hot & cold air. The blanket I was given was dusty & had hair all over it. Also, if you complain about bad listings to booking.com, they will blacklist you.

The staff was rude when we told them we weren’t going to stay there… after she showed us 3 rooms that were all covered in bugs and stained bed sheets and her excuse was “I come in and clean the sheets and rooms daily” then we told her we would stay somewhere else and she said it wasn’t free and to contact the property(even tho it had been 3 days and no response) and then slammed the door in our face… mind you this was our honeymoon and we had to pay for another hotel that day and it was a holiday so it was pricy

How - I liked that it was cheap, as we weren’t going to be there but to sleep and get ready. We didn’t like that it wasn’t the room we booked, we didn’t like that the bathroom was dirty, nor did we like that there was no nearby parking, Wi-Fi, clean fridge and that someone left opened chips in the closet

• Kristen (1/5): Terrifying - I am not one to complain, I reserve 1 star reviews for something that is just absolutely appalling and shouldn't exist on this planet. That said this place shouldn't exist. It's not a hotel. Even the fire station across the street, who I asked for help when I couldn't even get into the building when I reserved, questioned what this place was. There are in fact people living here, but this place looks like it has not received any maintenance since a century ago. There is nothing to like, this place is the type where you get shot for no reason, no exaggeration. This is NOT LA. For people touring. Your experience of this city should be nothing like whatever this abandoned building appears to be. A complete scam, unsafe, super odd this is listed at all, and I have no clue why it's still somehow available to reserve. Someone is definitely present to take your money though. I didn't even get to stay here because no one answered phone calls or let me in

One common washroom for entire floor and I was unable to close the windows. As a matter of fact I had booked 08 nights there but I left the place after first night.

• garret (4/5): Meh - Christina, the onsite manager, is friendly but there is a huge communication barrier. And she plays it to her advantage. She is very friendly and tries to be helpful but I don’t think it’s appropriate for her to come knocking on the window at 10pm, in the middle of your stay, to ask you a question. There’s a reason and purpose for the messaging system here on hotels.com but she doesn’t use it. She never even called me. She knocked on my door and window two separate times during my stay, both during what their property info states is not during their business hours, and even left a note on my door. Just pick up the phone and call me. Parking can be difficult but I advise you park across the street by the fire department. Beware of little critters if you leave food out.

There are yellow spots all over the bed sheets, and they are smelly and filled with dirt and boogers. Also there was two giant bugs on the ceiling staring at me. I couldn’t stay there. I left the same day I arrived.

• Jacqueline (1/5): Really Bad - The electricity would constantly go out all throughout the day in two outlets only, the outlets with the mini frig completely defrosted thank goodness I didn't have much in it to ruin, and microwave and the outlet for the mini heater used to warm up the room which for some reason was always cold. Also the roaches were really bad would bed on the bed sometimes. The majority of my showers were luke warm water.

• Heidy (3/5): Good price and location, not quality at all! - breakfast was not included The place is very much outdated, the house does not look good either, the floors make sound when you walk, the room did not have heater and it was very cold, a lady gave us a portable heater instead, the beds are old, the neighborhood is scary, i did not feel 100% safe, the rooms don't have private bathroom, so everyone have to share it, my pillow was old and dirty, I know the price and location is important, but if you are traveling with kids, I wouldn't recommend it, if you are looking for a place just to go to sleep for a low price then this will be a good option. It was difficult to do the check in, we were waiting for very long time before somebody was able to help us.

• Hunter (4/5): Get what you pay for - Exceedingly noisy considering the dogs across the street, and the fire house across the corner. Was under the impression there was ac, but it was a heater. Window open and fan full blast was still very hot. Bathroom at least had cleaning supplies to wash out shower before use, but bugs were absolutely everywhere when dark. Microwave/kettle/mini fridge were fine, basically everything but the building itself.

• Denise (8/5): Inexpensive hostel type - This is an antique home that has been remodeled(I use that term loosely)into a boarding house. The bathrooms are shared unless specified at booking but are cleaned frequently. Staff is cool and accommodating(we stayed an extra day), neighborhood is like downtown Sacramento, many cute diners close by, street parking. NO air conditioning but overhead and standing fans and wall heat unit. TV gets local channels but there is wi-fi. Perfect for a quiet get-away. Cleaning of the room could be better and the bed SUCKS but it is basically a hostel and the price is certainly reasonable. If you are afraid of not so upscale neighborhoods avoid this place. I never felt insecure(F, 125# with partner) but some people might.
• Inês (1/5): Cancelled by accomodation less than 24hrs from check in - The accomodation cancelled my reservation less than 24hours away from check-in and didn’t even inform Booking, meaning I had to book another place last minute, and didn’t get a refund until I contacted Booking’s customer support and they then helped me out.

• Bruce (6/5): - Ok, it’s cheap and it is located close to a lot of shopping if you have to stay for an extended time. It is a very old house but it is quite as far as others staying there. Very seldom saw others staying there. Shared bath which I was hesitant about but almost always available. It is across the street to a fire station and that was the noisy part of staying there. I did feel safe there and was never hassled by anyone while walking around the neighborhood. They do have some bugs, at least in my room. But again it’s an old house.

La dueña del hotel en cuanto llegamos nos dijo que viéramos la habitación, y si no nos gustaba lo podíamos cancelar sin problema, eso hicimos por las condiciones del hotel. No se dejen engañar con las fotos.
