Ian (7/5): Good location but tired property - Central midtown location good for tourists. Iconic art deco design. Great views from high up. Tired property. Nowhere in bathroom to put toiletries and shower leaked.
Sophie (6/5): Comfortable enough but not great, wouldn’t recommend - The location was good with great access to subway stations. Felt safe with the elevators constantly monitored. Room had air con. It was very tired and run down and the pictures were definitely misleading. I don’t think it was good value for money, whilst it is New York, the hotel itself needs major upgrades. We paid for a double with a view and whilst technically we had a view it wasn’t great.

Michele (8/5): Good location in the middle of NYC - Good quality/price for NYC, basic old school hotel with a very good location, metro station it’s just a few steps from the entrance door, train station few steps further. Little Starbucks directly inside the reception, operating in the morning hours. Plenty of restaurants and breakfast spots in the neighbourhood, some good ones 10’ walking distance. 50$/day security deposit with credit card requested. Recommended choice for a first timer in the city. During reservation the price included a free airport taxi, but after the confirmation I’ve got only a 10% discount on transportation. Tried to contact the property for explanation, no answers at all, only automatic emails reaching for discounted room upgrades. Even the booking customer service was unable to help. So we booked a taxi directly at the airport and the final price was around 90$.

Virkelig kedelig udsigt, selvom vi havde betalt for det. Bruserhoved sad lavt ift. at jeg er 186cm. Måtte bukke mig. Temperatur i badet meget ustabilt. Flere gange steg temperaturen hurtigt og pludseligt så man næsten brændte sig. Ekstremt lydt ude fra gangen. Vi synes ikke at der var pengene værd.

Elegantes Hotel aus den 30ern, schöne Lobby, 3 Restaurants mit jeweils Bar im Haus (Tick Tock Diner, Bianca (Italiener) und Steinhaus (Butchers & Bankers). Extra Kosten zur Deponierung des Gepäcks am Abreisetag für paar Stunden unüblich und teuer (pro Gepäckstück 5 $).

They said that they have reversed it, but we have still not received the money back in the card. The staff are not so friendly or welcoming especially the reception staff.

After talking with the front desk we were given the correct room, although still TINY. we woke the following morning to a fine under our door for “smoking” which we had not done, hotel was clearly trying to get extra money back for the room. Water was running brown from the shower and tap. Disgusting. Tiny room no room for suitcases, not suitable for 2 people. They charge outrageous money for their sub-par rooms, and then also charge to store your luggage on checkout!

The bedside lamp turned on/off when we moved in the bed. 5$ fee per bags for storage is a rip off. This is a basic standard service that should be provided without additional fees.
