From start to finish he made the entire booking and planning process seamless and genuinely enjoyable. It's rare to work with someone who brings that level of care and attention to detail — he took what could have been a stressful planning process and made it feel effortless. Jesus is the reason I'll be coming back. If you're looking to make a special occasion truly memorable, ask for him. Five stars without hesitation.

- Pugsly4 (6/5): Really a packed, great private gym with hotel rooms - Well located hotel for my business trip and in a nice part of NYC. You enter the hotel at ground level through a small somewhat dark entrance to two small lifts. You have to go to L25 to check in then up a separate lift bank of two small lifts to get to your room. Entrance and process uninspiring, not welcoming and not 5 star. Check in was efficient and friendly if a little clinical. Room was very nice - very clean, modern, large ‘double bed’ comprising 2 large singles put together with separate duvets. Very large shower area and bathroom and plenty of space. Nice smelling shampoo, body wash, etc. draws were filled with lots of Equinox gym related products you could buy at silly high prices if you are dumb enough to do so and also available were condoms, vibrators, etc should you so desire. All sorts of fruit teas also available but no normal tea, no milk, etc. No ironing board nor iron so I called for them and got them no problem. No hairdryer for some reason but there was a steamer for de- creasing my clothes. I would guess that a hairdryer in each room would be used much more often that a steamer but maybe I am wrong. Bed reasonably comfortable, pillows too thin and soft and poor/erratic air con each night caused me to wake up very hot. I would not want to experience that at the height of the New York heat. Lighting in the room very good. If you are travelling on business and want to work in the room, note there is no desk nor proper chair - not sure why not. There is a massive Equinox gym on Level 4 free for guests to use with all the equipment you could ever hope to use. Opens at 5:30 (I went each day at that time) and is packed pretty much all day with locals who are full members. Main membership seems to be very image and fitness conscious twenty somethings so not for a guest who may want a quiet workout. I had in-room dining one evening. Food was ok, but nothing special but very, very pricey. I ate out the others nights. Did not bother with breakfast in the hotel too- ridiculously expensive so I bought outside - loads of options nearby at a fraction of the price. Overall this really is a massive gym with a pool and spa, a bar for people to meet in and eat ……….with a hotel added on. Guests are just a lucrative part of the foot fall. Service is friendly and efficient but not personal. No hotel lobby to relax in, get a drink at the bar, etc and the need to take two sets of lifts to go up and down from your room becomes very irritating over a few days. Eat out. Gym great but super busy all the time. Aircon needs sorting. Would I stay here again? Only for the location if necessary.

Without ever asking, they anticipated my preferences for breakfast, lighting, and even my workout schedule. They should improve door insulation, you can easily be waked up at night due to noises in the corridor or adjacent room doors opening/closing.

Hotel is nice, staff are friendly. Breakfast is extortionate and was delivered cold to my room on both mornings. Refusal to accommodate a late checkout request is very poor especially at this price point. This is never an issue with The Pendry who are much more flexible so in future I will just stay there.
- zjaindl (8/5): Still Stylish and Serene — With A Few Slips - My wife and I have stayed at the Equinox Hotel several times and continue to be impressed by its design, serenity, and wellness focus. The rooms remain beautifully minimalist, spacious by Manhattan standards, and impeccably clean—among the most comfortable sleeps in the city. That said, this visit felt less polished than before. While service on arrival was seamless, check-in once again yielded no upgrade despite booking through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts. Details that once set Equinox apart have slipped: the Dyson hairdryers are gone, shower pressure was weak, and in-room dining, though prompt, arrived with a toppled glass of wine. Breakfast the next morning was dramatically understaffed, leaving guests—including us—waiting far too long for basic service. The gym remains a highlight, but even it showed signs of wear, and the café upstairs looked disorganized and closed. Electric Lemon closing before 10:30 PM also felt oddly early for Manhattan. Equinox still delivers a restful, well-designed experience—but the consistency and meticulousness that once defined it seem to be fading. A renewed focus on service and upkeep could easily return this hotel to its former five-star form.

Facilities are not easily accessible and too crowded as they are not for exclusive use of hotel customers. The price is too expensive and you would expect much better facilities and service for the dollar you are paying. Staff are too cold and not friendly.

- Michael (10/5): - This was my second time visiting New York. The first time I absolutely hated it and did not understand why anyone would come to this city. However, after staying at the Equinox, my whole view changed. I had such a better trip overall. The hotel is located in a quiet, clean, new part of town and the hotel itself is absolutely stunning. Rooms are tastefully designed, the bar had amazing drinks, and the experience was top notch. I cannot stress how much accomodations play a role in your overall experience when traveling. I DEFINITELY recommend spending the extra money (this hotel is not cheap!) coming here if you're in NY.

Honestly, we would have been quite overjoyed without leaving the property, but had to travel to Times Square for the play. (Which, by-the-way, was arranged seamlessly by our concierge) The health facility was immaculate and we were able experience many of classes. Of course, the spa is not to be missed, Our daily conflict consisted of juggling spa appointments with the workout schedule. We dined at Electric Lemon and was not disappointed with the exception the the beet yogurt is only available during breakfast hours. The rooms was silent, beds were comfortable. The staff all around were gracious. ( and quick to help with elevator navigation) I did use hotel transportation to & from JFK and so glad I did.

One of the restaurant staff even said to my friend, “You look f***ed up.” Is that how you train your employees to speak to customers? There was absolutely no respect. Later, when my friend simply asked for bar recommendations, the staff member replied, “I’m not sure they’ll serve you guys.” Are you serious? Is that an acceptable way to speak to guests? When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told, “None of them are here, it’s too late now.”
- allysonbrianna (4/5): Very hot at night! Uncomfortable sleep - I generally stay at the equinox hotel when I’m in nyc as it’s by my office. I had a terrible time at the hotel this past trip. My room would not get cool and I had fitful sleep every night (I was there 6 nights). I woke up drenched in sweat multiple times as did my husband. We bought OTC sleeping pills to try to get better sleep. We alerted hotel staff that our room wasn’t cooling. They checked the room and said nothing was wrong. Really upset by the service. When I checked out, I was told someone would reach about my stay but I never heard anything. Unless they fix their cooling problems, I do not recommend the hotel. I had to take a detour in Chicago on my way home the next night and was overjoyed to stay in a hotel that actually got cool at night.

The interior design is chic. The gym and two pools in the hotel are amazing stops to make while you stay.

Phone reception was very poor, one bar. That was a big minus for us because it was difficult to keep in touch between ourselves and take care of stuff that we needed to take care of.

Room had a great view, and the layout is efficient. the black out shade was the best we ever experienced, and the robe/dental kits were such nice add ons! Front desk had a slight air of arrogance, especially the person on evening shift. Room didn’t have a tub, and the gym was closed after 9!

The receptionist was dressed in an all-white suit (which summed up the whole vibe — performative, impractical, and deeply self-conscious). The staff are exclusively millennial, perfectly styled but hollow in energy. The rooftop pool? Less relaxation, more Mean Girls reunion. If you’re not part of a pre-approved clique, expect side-eyes and passive exclusion. Cold plunge and jacuzzi are the same — more social posturing than wellness. It’s not just bitchy; it’s borderline hostile if you’re not there to perform. Narcissism is the dominant energy here, and if you don’t worship at the altar of self-image, you’re simply not welcome. Inside pool was a health hazard. Used plasters (bandaids) on the sides, floors flooded, and zero supervision. A guest frisbee’d a flipper at me because he assumed I wanted his lane. I didn’t. Pool caps are mandatory — because hygiene — yet they apparently draw the line at biohazardous plasters. As for the spa, it’s not included in your (minimum) £1,000/night stay. We were told we couldn’t access anything and to use the “sauna on the gym floor instead.” Spoiler: there isn’t one. And for those wondering — yes, we checked twice. And unlike most luxury wellness hotels, the gym, spa, and rooftop areas are not reserved for hotel guests. They’re shared with Equinox Club members — so the overcrowding, queuing, and entitlement you experience? It’s not just seasonal — it’s structural. The gym is full of late 20-somethings who think wearing head-to-toe black Lululemon is a personality. They spend every weekend here and definitely call it “training”. The men’s locker room, meanwhile, felt more like a pseudo-sexual runway than a wellness facility. A strange, hyper-groomed tension lingers — and not in a good way. If you’re not there to look at others or be looked at, you’ll feel deeply out of place. And that’s by design. Everything runs on two lifts… for 30 floors. Want your room? First stop: Level 4. Switch lifts. Then wait again. This system would be irritating even if you weren’t tired, hot, or carrying luggage. Which we were. Good luck navigating it during peak check-in hours — unless, of course, you enjoy queue culture. The room is eye-wateringly overpriced. The bed? Not even a real bed. It was a sofa-bed mattress disguised as a double. Possibly the worst night’s sleep I’ve ever had — felt like sleeping on tile. The sheets were paper thin and scratchy, the kind you’d expect in a two-star airport layover hotel, not one charging four figures a night. You also get one duvet per person. Because nothing says romance like twin duvets. At least they didn’t forget the vibrator, condoms, and tip book for better sex. The design is slick, but functional decisions were clearly an afterthought. Also: the room doubles as a shameless Equinox merchandise showroom. Open any drawer and you’ll find protein powders, tech gear, skin boosters — all at boutique-inflated prices. You’re paying a grand to be advertised to. We booked via Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts — supposedly with perks like breakfast credit and upgrade eligibility. In practice, we had to beg to use our breakfast credit, and no room upgrade was offered. At every turn, we were treated like bargain-hunters rather than premium guests. On our final night, we arranged for our included breakfast to be delivered the evening before — since we had an early departure and would miss breakfast service. This was agreed by staff as the only viable solution. But at checkout? We were charged for it — even though it was clearly a substitution, not an extra meal. We’ll be pursuing a refund for that charge separately, but the fact it happened at all speaks volumes about the lack of care or common sense. We also ordered room service that evening after being socially iced out by rooftop groups. On top of a hefty service charge, they added gratuity too. For context, we stayed six nights before this stay at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, and even they didn’t double up! Pros: • Water in the room and food at Electric Lemon was good. • iPad room controls worked well. • Shower was well-designed. • Clean enough room We arrived at 6pm, gutted that traffic delayed us. After experiencing the hotel? We wished it had been ten times worse. My partner and I fit the exact demographic this hotel tries to court: young, well-paid, city-based. But unlike their ideal guest, we see through pretence. This place is all pout, posturing, and performativity — with none of the substance. What masquerades as “cutting-edge wellness” is actually just a content factory for narcissists. Wellness has become a costume here — it’s not something anyone’s genuinely doing. Recommended nightly rate? £200, maybe £300 for NYC. But this is not a £1,000+/night experience. We’ve already recommended Amex reconsider Equinox’s place in the FDH program. Style over service isn’t luxury — it’s theatre.

Simply put: Service, service, service—with genuine smiles and kindness at every turn. We haven’t even checked out yet, and I’m already blown away. The spa experience was truly exceptional—calming, luxurious, and incredibly well-run. The staff at the spa checkout were amazing: helpful, knowledgeable, and never pushy. They spoke about the products with such confidence and clarity that I felt great about making a purchase. Special shout-out to Jonathan, Jonah, and Luis—their warmth and professionalism really stood out. My husband didn’t visit the spa, but he’s been equally impressed with the hotel overall, and we’ve both agreed this will be our go-to hotel moving forward. The rooms are stunning—thoughtfully designed with a strong focus on health and well-being. Every detail feels curated for comfort and relaxation. Loving every moment so far!

- Brumledk (10/5): A true gem in a great location - A true gem in a great and peaceful location in Hudson Yard, around a 20-25 minute walk from Time Square. We had a wonderful stay and time at Equinox New York, a true 5-star experience. The staff ensured that we were well looked after throughout our stay. We received an upgrade at check-in and stayed in a Premier One Bedroom Suite on the 35th floor with separate lounge and 2 bathrooms. A fantastic room overlooking the New York skyline and the Hudson River. The room also has a well-stocked minibar but if you need a fridge, the staff is happy to supply another fridge for the room. It is obvious that the room and hotel are tailored to customers using the Equinox gym but that does not take anything away from the great experience and service this hotel provides. Ice must be delivered to the room as there are no ice machines on the individual floors. We celebrated our wedding anniversary, and the hotel kindly arranged for a surprise bottle of champagne to be delivered to our room for us to enjoy, with a beautifully handwritten card. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to New York.

- Trek26921995403 (2/5): Hotel ignores erroneous charge - I stayed at the hotel as part of a work conference. While the hotel stay was nice, I was erroneously charged eating at the hotel cafe. When I flagged that incorrect charge during my checkout, the front desk promised to remove the fee. The charge was still not removed after a week. I called the hotel to follow up and was told that they would look into it. Nothing has happened yet.
