Guest Reviews
- Silvia (6/5): - The staff were wonderful and very friendly, the spaces were clean, the location is central The photos are far better than the reality, if I have to be honest. The place is advertised as “one of the leading luxury small hotels in the world,” but it doesn’t feel like it at all. The street outside is extremely busy—one of the busiest in Athens—narrow and crowded with tourists, which can feel quite claustrophobic and not relaxing. Additionally, the hotel has a boutique at the entrance selling clothes, and with the large number of people outside, it doesn’t feel like a private or inviting space. The staff were very nice and the location was central but overall it didn't seem worth it to me!

- H3443WYamberp (10/5): Go here! - Absolutely outstanding service. We stayed in the roof suite with the outdoor deck and hot tub and it was heaven. Even in December with a daily average of 55 degrees you can be in a bathing suit in the sun. They adjusted the tub temperature perfectly to our liking. Daily amazing breakfasts, enough to feed you for a whole day, with fresh baked bread and Greek honey and yogurt and homemade jams. Every day a small surprise on the tray. Constant homemade snacks. Meticulous service and cleanliness. Incredibly responsive to requests. Located in the best possible area to walk everywhere. They booked our private drivers and private excursions, sometimes with little notice, and each trip was perfect with professional knowledgeable drivers, who took us to whatever experience we asked for, and stopped at local places along the way to try the food and coffee. Loved it all, but MUST do-s are the private olive oil tasting in Delphi (private lunch with the owners!), Oracle of Delphi (private tour), and sunset at the temple of Poseidon in Sounio. Everything else is in easy walking distance, and you’re surrounded by restaurants and shops. We stayed 10 wonderful days. Highly recommend.

- Dilek (10/5): Her şey harikaydı. -
- Franco (10/5): Cozy and excellent located hotel - The hotel is really well located, the staff is really nice and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel does not have a reception but that's not a problem. They also recommended some places for lunch/dinner. We had a great time. I think hotels should have a chromecast or something that can allow you to cast things from your phone (YouTube, Netflix).
- Fearless402101 (2/5): Terrible experience, not as promised or shown in pictures. Fraud. - I would never stay at this or any A47 Hotel ever again. The room was not as promised, no view. And our booking was more than 2x the price of the actual room received. Fraud as far as I am concerned and taking advantage of tourists. They made no accommodation or offered any credit of value to me (they refused any credit only said here’s a minuscule credit to come back... Terrible experience with their customer service team. I would never return and would suggest you look elsewhere.
- KarlP351 (10/5): Perfect Location - We picked this hotel for the location and we weren't disappointed. It is a boutique hotel with Hilton affiliation but there are no amenities like a pool or bar that you would expect from a Hilton property other than breakfast to order delivered to your room daily, but you couldn't have asked for a better location. It is central to the markets and restaurants and walking distance to the Acropolis. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and gave us suggestions of great restaurants and rooftop bars for sunsets. The rooms were very nice and extremely clean and were serviced anytime we went out even for an hour or two. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip.
- U1175OSwilliamm (10/5): Perfect place to stay. - Nice place with wonderful people working there. Perfectly centrally located with a short walk to everything including restaurants and the Acropolis.
- W5123YFanthonyc (10/5): Unparalleled Athenian Experience - The location of this hotel is everything. Go for morning run around the acropolis, then come back and have breakfast in bed with views of acropolis, then start your day exploring. The staff was extremely warm and helpful. I would not go back to Athens unless I could stay at this hotel again! Right in the heart of historic Athens but tucked away in a quiet pedestrian street.
- Climber814600 (10/5): Stay here in central Athens! - Recommended by friends and did not disappoint. Staff is their strength as well as location, rooms and bre akfast.
Thank you!
- Paul (8/5): -
- Quinntonna (10/5): Will book and recommend - Very cute property nice clean. You walk out the door and you are surrounded by shops and red It was great
- NJVJNC (6/5): This isn’t a hotel. It’s a guest house on top of a clothing store. - A77
Manage your expectations - it is more guest house than hotel. It’s also not truly a Hilton property
When they say boutique hotel, they literally mean, there’s a clothing boutique at the entrance. The staff is very pleasant.
There’s no proper lobby, reception, or bar. If you are booking with Hilton points (500k plus €384 for two nights in our case), do not expect any recognition for your Hilton status or loyalty. There’s a Hilton Honors sign at the desk but that is the extent of the relationship to Hilton as far as we encountered.
The Superior Suite, is neither. It’s a room with a queen bed, two chairs and a side table. There’s an empty fireplace ( even an electric fire would have been nice. If not, don’t light it up ). There is an electrical outlet on one side of the bed but nothing on the other side. There are no USB ports anywhere and no desk area. The wardrobe is small and the robes are short waffle style.
Breakfast is delivered to your room. The staff was, once again, super pleasant. The breakfast itself was clearly cooked much earlier ( we opted for a 9 am delivery- probably should have gotten it earlier ). The orange juice was fresh squeezed and delicious.
We didn’t expect an Acropolis view. That room wasn’t available when we booked. We also didn’t expect a view of scaffolding and walls. There is no communal area other than the clothing boutique. We were right next to the elevator and the frequent noise of people coming and going was bothersome. The doors are very heavy and close loudly.
Getting a taxi or Uber at 8 pm proved impossible (4 canceled on us due to the inaccessibility at that time of day). We asked the boutique clerk for assistance. She called a supervisor. When we said we needed something immediately she was very flustered and told us to walk to the church and hail a cab. We did that. Again, that isn’t five star service. It wasn’t her fault, but she should have been educated on how to handle it. The next evening we were walking to dinner and the clerk couldn’t tell us what direction to turn for Monistikraki. Again, not her fault, hotel employees should be educated on common questions. Upon our return, there were two other couples struggling with getting transport. We directed them to the Main street and gave them instructions on getting an Uber from there. You simply can’t run a “5 star” hotel like a clothing boutique.
From a practical perspective,
be very careful entering and exiting the bathroom. There is an unmarked step down that both my husband and I each missed once. We ended up putting a suitcase at the entrance so that we would be reminded of the step down. The housekeeping service was very good. There was no turndown service, which once again, was a disappointment.
The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well.
We have stayed at the Grande Bretagne, Milos, and occasionally before a flight, the Sofitel. They all blow the A77 away in level of amenities.
The staff is pleasant but for €700 + a night we expect more than pleasant.
- katiehO1963TH (10/5): Loved it! - It was a wonderful hotel in a great location - we loved our time there! It was easy to walk to the acropolis and other notable Athens locations
- JALLISONSCOTT (10/5): 100% quaint, cute, must-stay-here hotel! - Would absolutely stay here again!! There are so many unique special touches and precious details. We arrived very early in the morning with hopes they could just store our luggage while we waited for 3:00pm check-in, but were instead greeted warmly by Jenny. She offered fresh homemade cherry juice and a seat in the super cute boutique/ reception area while we checked in. She suggested a nearby bakery for coffee and pastries while they finished preparations. Our room was ready by 10:30am where Jenny escorted us personally and showed us all of the details we needed to know. The pale blue painted windows were open with a beautiful view of the acropolis hill. The room was large with plenty of space for multiple suitcases, the bathroom was clean with luxurious towels and soaps, the mattress and bedding was great, and the A/C unit worked well. There were cute little complimentary snacks and a stocked mini fridge. Since this is a 12 room hotel without a restaurant, we were given options for breakfast which was served hot and prompt to our room the next morning. The Greek yogurt and honey were unforgettable, and the cappuccino and croissant were just icing on the cake. After a long day of touring the city, we returned to find a sweet note and lavender sachets on our pillows. I found the entire experience to be a unique balance of posh yet homey, luxurious yet whimsical, and personal yet well-prepared. I very much appreciate the extra efforts they’ve made and I do highly recommend!!
- Cindy Chien Ching (10/5): - The staff was absolutely amazing. Best stay of our trip. Will definitely check out other properties in the future. Worth the upgrade to the top floor suite!
- William D (8/5): - Great hotel, great location and wonderful staff!
- Fleur (9/5): Lovely boutique hotel in the perfect location - walking distance to everything you need. - In room breakfast was fabulous with a great variety of options. The room strip lighting was quiet fluroescent.
- Nomad04662329989 (10/5): PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE - A77 Suites is in a beautiful location in Athens! Walking distance to many wonderful shops and places to eat!! A77 Suites is a WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC, AMAZING place to stay! Upon arrival the staff were VERY WELCOMING and attentive! They all were very accomodating to even our simplest requests. We were greeted with a type of refreshing glass of fruit juice while being checked in. Who does that?!! LOL! The service was beyond OUTSTANDING!! The breakfast provided to us was beyond delicious and plentiful. Our room was VERY CLEAN and spacious for 3 adults. The value for our stay, I think, was very reasonable. Many amenities provided. Everything was WONDERFUL!!!!! We look forward to our future stay in Athens at A77 Suites with a longer stay! We thank you for an UNFORGETTABLE stay in Athens! Thank you, A77 Suites!
10 out of 10 for sure!!!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Beautiful boutique hotel in heart of the Plaka neighborhood in Athens. The staff was incredible- friendly, helpful and so accommodating. Every staff member spoke perfect English. Wonderful stay!
- Kent (10/5): - This hotel is an absolute treasure underneath the acropolis!
- Richard (10/5): - Very nice place, staff was great
- patrickhY3665RA (10/5): Unforgettable Luxury Boutique Hotel - The A77 Suites located on Adrianou in Athens is in the heart of the Plaka. This offers more than luxury as Elena and her team greets you with the intent to help you with anything you need so as to ensure you have the time of your life while in Athens.
The staff work together so that all aspects of your stay are perfect. From the first greeting where you are made to feel at home; to their delicous and plentiful breakfast made to your design and served in your room at your convenience.
The room is filled with first-class additions from the decor and lighting to the comforable bed. Our room was called a 'petite room' but it is definately NOT petite. It was spacious and quiet. It was delightful to leave the heat of the city and return to the cool and comfortable room.
The location cannot be beat as you are in the heart of Athens filled with shops, restaurants, and historic landmarks to explore.
Clean up and room service twice per day made our stay so comfortable. Little gifts such as sponges, quotes and thoughtful items were delivered to your room at turn down.
We have stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world but this one is unique in that it does not have a grand lobby or bell boy or concierge. Instead this professional team gets to know you and will provide to your every need without ever imposing.
Everything is handled quickly by the staff from delivering luggage, to making reservations and calling taxis.
We hope to return again to this unique luxury boutique where standards far exceed your expectations.
We left early in the morning and we were presented with a box breakfast to take with us as the team assisted with luggage and contact with the driver to wishing us well. This was an unbelievalbe exerience. You may never find the likes of this again.
- H1188YPjackyb (10/5): A little oasis - This is an exquisite oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of Athens .The view from our little terrace is quite unsurpassed. Having our most delicious breakfast there was a treat although I don’t know how they managed to get it up the staircase. The pillows are soft down and the bed perfect. How lucky am I at the age of 88 to find this place!
- Katharine (10/5): Wonderful staff, incredible breakfast, gorgeous room - Absolutely Beautiful!! Nothing

- Connie (10/5): - Loved this boutique hotel. This was our first time in Athens and this hotel was the perfect spot to
- Paula (10/5): - .......
- Amy (10/5): - We had a great stay at A77! Great location, beautiful rooms and wonderful staff!
- Lesley (10/5): Beautifully appointed boutique hotel - Our communication with Jenny prior to our arrival was excellent and in check-in she was more than helpful and accommodating. Our suite was beautifully appointed, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the suite was a nice treat and delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend A77!
- rita (10/5): - Stanza incantevole, staff gentile e disponibile. Frigo bar e molte amenità in omaggio. Accappatoi di prima qualità, letto e bagno comodissimi.
Posizione eccellente con vista Acropoli.
Servizio di colazione in camera ottimo. Tutto perfetto.
- Jens (9/5): Gerieflijk - Ligging, vriendelijk personeel Niets
- lee (8/5): - Great location and friendly staff!
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely airy large rooms. right in the heart of Plaka
- cka1988 (10/5): Very Impressed! - This is truly a boutique hotel - as the lobby is a boutique. It is a small property in a great location for sightseeing, dining and shopping. The staff was wonderful and our breakfast each morning was delicious! The room was quaint yet modern with plenty of room. We would love to stay here again!
- 422e72 (2/5): Look for other accommodation; just not this one - I have stayed in A77 Suites multiple times over the last 2-3 years. While I agree with several reviewers that the hotel has NO breakfast space and requires pre-booking for the next day, which is then delivered to your room, we have come to terms with it. It’s annoying, but we pick our fights.
I recommended this hotel to two other couples who are departing from Athens with us the day after our arrival. The check-in process was chaotic and disorganized: even though each couple was checked in individually, they handed out our keys simultaneously. One couple was on the same floor as us, and the woman at the front desk informed us that we could use the elevator together with our luggage. Since we had just returned from a 3-week sailing trip, each of us had 2 pieces of luggage plus carry-ons.
As soon as we pressed the button for our floor, the elevator made an unusual noise, and, unsurprisingly, we were trapped between floors.
A staff member at the reception mentioned he had contacted maintenance to unlock the door. The same woman who checked us in and squeezed us into the elevator returned a few minutes later and stated that there was no key available. We then requested her to call the police, who eventually arrived and got us out.
Additionally, when I tried to access the elevator after checking in, the woman prevented me from doing so because she wanted to photograph our friends' passports first. She could have handed us our key and completed the check-in for the others afterward.
Would I recommend this hotel again? Absolutely not. There are other hotels in the city center; this is not the only option.
- AmyMahon (10/5): Charming boutique hotel ! - It was a charming boutique hotel, turn down service, breakfast in the room.
Gorgeously decorated and large very comfortable rooms.
- steve (10/5): - great
- Rod (8/5): - small boutique hotel in the heart of Plaka's ice cream, food, and tourist shops. A short walk to the heart of the city. Rooms are not suites but 30sm queen rooms that have been nicely decorated. Staff are all young and eager to help. Breakfast comes from outside supplier so is limited to pre ordering. Not a deluxe hotel; breakfast but depends on what you are accustomed to. Definitely not a 5 star hotel experience but with 5 star rates.
- Kerstin (9/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Christine (10/5): - N room breakfast. Lovely perk
- Tracy (8/5): - Well situated. Beautiful area for restaurants and site seeing The air conditioning did not work well at all. Our room was very hot which made it uncomfortable.
- Patricia (10/5): Excelente hotel para alojarte en Atenas. Instalaciones divinas y exquisita atención. - Excelente hotel lleno de detalles. Inmejorable ubicación y atención increíble. Tiene una boutique divina. Todo me pareció excelente
- U3111SLrossh (10/5): A Fine Small Hotel. - A wonderful small hotel. With 12 rooms.
Close to all attractions shopping & cafes.
The staff, Jenny & Lucas are very helpfull & full of information.
Our Supreme suite was very comfortable & a good size.
Breakfast is served in your room at a nominated time. Not sure this works as you can not mingle with other guests.
Get past this & it is a great option of a stay in Athens.
- Roberto (10/5): - This was a Luxury Boutique Hotel that offers high-end amenities, personalized service with a complimentary fridge bar and breakfast. It is located in Plaka and it is minutes away from Acropolis. It was truly an exclusive experience.
- Elspeth (9/5): -
- 984garlandh (10/5): Small Gem in Athens City Center - This hotel is a gem in the city centre in Athens. We stayed here one night at the end of a cruise, but wished we could have stayed longer. We were welcomed by Jenny who greeted us with cool towels and a refreshing drink. She was very helpful giving us recommendations for lunch and dinner as well as sight seeing options. She also arranged transportation to the airport for the next day. Breakfast is included and delivered to your room. We booked a standard room but were pleasantly surprised by the size and decor. Keep in mind this is a small boutique hotel with only 12 rooms so it is a little different experience from regular ones. It was a former home to wealthy residents of Athens. It has a lot of history and character through out. It is also walking distance to everything you would see in Athens (Acropolis, Parliament Building, Plaka, etc. ). Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this charming hotel!
- simonwD9128VF (10/5): Charming, clean, renovated hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. - Top notch staff for a small boutique hotel will only 12 rooms. Had the top floor room with a terrace and jacuzzi. Superb.
Staff were very helpful. Included breakfast was delicious and healthy. Bit pricey but worth it. Great view of the acropolis.
- carlos (10/5): - Lovely place , great location and great service
- Peter (10/5): - The Staff made the stay wonderful.. Each and every one was so warm and friendly. These are great people!
The property is beautiful and clean. The location could not be any better, convenient to everything - shopping and dining. Our new favorite Athens Hotel.
- Ryan (10/5): Great! stayed twice - Very well located, great team at check in and very helpful booking airport transfers and taxis to the cruise port. Beautiful building with the large comfortable rooms
- Jeff (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, strong AC
- erinbchi (10/5): Amazing location and wonderful staff - Great location! Views of the Parthenon 🏛️ Tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. Very safe bustling area. You’re within a 2 minute walk of rooftop bars/restaurants with stunning views of the acropolis. There’s a wonderful elaborate breakfast included that is brought to your room. And the staff are lovely and super helpful.
- Mary (9/5): Amazing stay in the heart of Athens - this hotel exceeded my expecations. it was right in the middle of the old part of Athens, but the room was quiet. The room was newly renovated and the size was unlike what you usually get in Europe. The bathroom was large as well. The breakfast was delivered to the room each day (order the night before) and was included in the price of the room. The staff was extra nice and friendly. Overall super. nothing to report here.
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amandeep (10/5): A lovely hotel, great location in Plaka for seeing the sights - A lovely hotel. Great location in Plaka for seeing the sights, the staff are very warm and friendly, they helped organise a few guided tours during our stay. Breakfast was very nice also. Thank you Shower temperature was a bit tricky to get right
- Juan (10/5): - Very close to everything, love it
- WallyJr (8/5): Charming but small - This is a charming small boutique hotel in the Plaka area of Athens. We loved the location, service, and breakfast, however, the petite suite was really small with very little room for luggage and space to eat our breakfast. I would recommend booking a larger room/suite if you can. Also, keep in mind there is no lobby per se (it is a clothing store) or other common areas to lounge.
- Julia (10/5): - All staff members were outstanding in customer service. They went above and beyond to provide resources. Breakfasts were wonderful!
- malcolm (10/5): - The staff was amazing and pleasant! Great location in the heart of everything
- 669madiec (10/5): Heart of Athens, quiet and comfortable. - Highly highly recommend this Hotel. While being close to all the happening spots, it's is so quiet- fantastic staff, and clean rooms. Breakfast is served inside the room which is a 3/5. Rooms themselves are a 5/5! Much better location than Gatsby.
- IN_Travelers47906 (8/5): Charming Hotel in the Heart of Athens - As a SLH (small luxury hotel), the A77 Athens captured the local ambiance and character. Located on a narrow street across from the oldest house in Athens (a national historic site) and just down the street from Athens’ first public school (also a national historic site), you can walk past the school, turn the corner and you are in Plaka, THE shopping district of Athens. With only 12 rooms, no kitchen and a lobby that doubles as a dress shop, we definitely felt as if we had taken a few steps back in time.
Our room #10 was spacious even with a king bed, adequate closet space, a large bathroom, standard hotel television and a partial view of the Acropolis. The narrow street below was very busy mostly with noisy pedestrian traffic exiting from the Plaka. However, most of the street noise disappeared when the window was closed. The window did have a sliding screen, which I had not seen before in Europe, but was glad to use it when taking pictures of the Acropolis.
Breakfast in the room was a treat. Given a room menu and an iPad, we placed our breakfast order the evening before. Within just a few minutes after submitting our choices, our room phone rang to confirm the order. We chose service between 9:00 – 9:30 and the meal was delivered to the room about 9:35 on a huge metal tray, which was delivered on a fold-out tv-type stand, which allowed us to transfer food an item at a time to a small dining table situated in front of our room window between two overstuffed chairs. After eating, we moved the tray over by the door to the room and it was picked up later after we were out.
SPECIAL NOTE TO HILTON HONORS MEMBERS: In several ways, this delightful hotel was Hilton in name only, which is a primary reason for giving this review a 4 instead of 5. Aside from having the Hilton name on what served as a front desk, our status as Hilton Diamond Members who had used nearly 300,000 points for our 1-night stay was ignored and never mentioned. When we travel international, we enjoy using the Hilton Boutique hotels to capture the local ambiance along with the Hilton professionalism and service. However, although the three ladies we met at the desk, could not have been nicer, they gave us the impression that they had not been on the job for long and seemed to have had zero training one would expect of a Hilton employee..
That said, we did present a peculiar problem for the hotel staff. Due to the 9:00 a.m. disembarkation from our cruise ship, we arrived at the hotel by 9:45 a.m. With only 12 rooms, and only 2 rooms in our class, they were severely restricted in what they could do to accommodate our early arrival. They had only 2 chairs and what counted as a front desk in their main floor dress shop, so they offered us a small drink and stored our luggage under a stairwell, and we were off to sightsee until receiving a 1:00 pm phone call that our room was ready. Additionally, we requested a late checkout the next day, because our flight home did not depart Athens until 10 p.m. that night. Normally, a 4-5 star Hilton property would accommodate us in a public space where we could connect our computers and get some work done, while providing us access to their dining room for dinner before leaving for the airport. But the dress shop could not provide any such accommodation, so initially, the two gals at the desk did not offer us any hope for a solution, and we were going to be left to our own means following the mandatory 11:00 am checkout until our 10:00 pm flight. However: Thanks to Elenia! After a few minutes, she contacted “booking,” which I took to be Hilton, and she came back to me with a plan by which we could remain in our room as late as 6:00 pm at a rate of 20 euros/hour. We took it, and the problem was solved thanks to Elenia. The point of the story being that as a Hilton Diamond, I am use to presenting Hilton employees just about any problem and they will have a solution. Except for Elenia, I don’t believe the other ladies at the desk would have come up with anything close to a solution.
A77 is a dress shop/hotel which makes it very quaint, but regular Hilton customers will need to be prepared to adjust to the local idiosyncrasies. If you can, you should have a very pleasant stay. We certainly did.

- Cecilie (9/5): A gem in central Athens - Everything! The backyard in our room was amazing, staff is absolutly wounderfull, perfect location and just a gem in the center of Athens. Loved the personal note and gift from the hotel Nothing! If there is anything we could give a small feedback on, we would recommend to have a better isolated door from the room out to the hall. Not a big problem, just because the elevator and breakfast preparation is just outside the room.
- noblewilliam (10/5): Athens paradise - Located on a tiny cobblestone street, in view of the Acropolis, Athens, beautiful boutique hotel with exceptional service, comfortable, spacious, eye pleasing, rooms, with a view of the Acropolis and a balcony, looking down on street, many nearby shops and restaurants, location screams at you to take a walk and enjoy the peaceful environment you are surrounded by. The breakfast each morning was very good, filling, with a nice selection and combination of items, the wonderful staff will accommodate you happily to meet your needs. We had a great boxed breakfast, with orange juice (freshly squeezed) and cappuccino for our day trip. The smiles you receive with an inquiry of “How was your day” or others are priceless and contagious. Exceptional hotel!!!!
- Hatanichi (10/5): - Everyone from check in to check out what absolutely great! We had a great stay we hope to see everyone soon! Thank for the hospitality and fantastic customer service.
- 263maryjaner (10/5): Amazing boutique hotel! - The service provided by all of the staff was top of the line from before we arrived until our departure. The front desk staff corresponded with us before we arrived and were invaluable in helping us with all our arrangements during our stay, especially finding dinner reservations during the Easter holiday when many restaurants close early. Our room was clean and the cleaning staff was very attentive. Breakfast was amazing and they accommodated all my husband’s food allergies. The location was perfect with easy access to historical sites as well as shopping and restaurants. They even left an Easter basket in the room. We would recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay again.
- Wayde (10/5): - This hotel is a gem. Though I could easily give it a 5-star rating based on the property alone it’s the amazing staff that made our stay here truly memorable.

Constantina & Helena were so attentive, ordered my husband's medicine for us, and even gave us a few paracetamol from her own supply as we ran out for the night. Maria brought us waters and scrumptious breakfast. We were even upgraded to a better room. We'll definitely spread this gem of a hotel and make this our homebase when we're in Plaka.
