New soap and shampoos but lumpy mattress, rusty dresser etc. fine for a night or if you have to be in pico robertson near synagogue or if you get a good rate or need to be near synagogue

- wilsonfrogs (8/5): Pleasant small hotel in Los Angeles - The Carlyle Inn room was clean and well maintained. The king bed was comfortable. The room was quiet despite its location on a busy street. Parking was in a covered area and adequate. My only complaint was that the internet service in the room was nonexistent. We went to the lobby to use the internet on our devices because there was a solid wifi signal there.

We had to haul all our belongings multiple times, and in the end, one of our party members had to stay at a different hotel because the third room only had one king-sized bed. Despite all the inconvenience, we received no compensation or support. Decor was neat

- Jill (8/5): We had a lovely stay in beautiful Nice. The unit was spacious and came with just enough amenities. - the location was central. It is next to a club/bar which operates over weekend nights, so expect some noise. Ear plugs are provided which was nice. There are only two windows (in one of the bedrooms) that look outside. The other bedroom had windows that looked to a very small alcove of the building. There was not a lot of fresh air available with the windows cracked.

- Nikita (8/5): Friendly staff, good area, good for a couple not solo traveller. - Good location, friendly staff, good value for money. Lots of tourist attractions near by. Nice outdoor area to sit in the sun. Bathroom mirror was great for getting ready. Lots of fresh towels and snacks and drinks downstairs, happy hour is also offered. Highlight of the stay was definitely friendly staff, very willing to accomodate and help you out. As a solo traveller I probably wouldn’t return, walls are thin and you can hear people above and below you. My bed was right next to the door and windows so felt exposed. Probably needed a bit of a deeper clean, was slightly dusty.

Anyone could jump on the elevator and move around the hallways. No breakfast. This hotel has nothing good except the location.

There were a few details that could have been improved upon but overall it was a convenient, affordable and nice place to stay. I would stay there again. List of items for improvement: coffee machine in my room was not working but I was able to fix it; rug needed a deep cleaning; decor is a little strange but was not a deal breaker; the main elevator was dirty, had an odor, stains on the floor and ripped wall fabric (you can do better, Carlyle); overall the front entry way had a run down look (just needs deep cleaning and fresh paint). The online photos show a much newer and well cared for appearance of the facility. Perhaps it would benefit from a rethinking of the decor.

The rooms and grounds are a bit run-down, with visible wear and neglect. In reality, it is closer to a three-star property, if not lower. The surrounding area also did not feel particularly safe, which made the stay even less comfortable.

Oh my God to our room finally after being up 24 hours there were ants in both of our beds. The nighttime lady was not nice. She had no sense of customer service and we should’ve gone to a motel six because literally this was no different than a no tell Motel.

- Jonathan (10/5): - I prefer a local boutique neighborhood hotel to a chain, and The Carlyle Inn delivers that experience. The Robertson-Pico neighborhood is a lively area of LA bordering on Beverly Hills. A well-maintained property overall, the room was spotlessly clean, and the king bed very comfortable. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. I received free self-parking as a VIP bonus. Tip: use the bath mat when showering; the tub was very slippery.
- Victor (6/5): Still Searching for an affordable LA stay I like - Location is good but hotel is borderline ghetto. Very dated rooms. U hear every voice in the hall, thuds every time someone walks above or next to u, super loud a/c and in general a pretty depressing place. My search for a fairly priced room in LA that’s nice where one can actually sleep continues. This isn’t it. Only positive is the free parking however the multiple signs reading “Not responsible for loss or damage to vehicles” made me wonder how safe the parking garage is. Guess I’ll find out shortly.

Needs new elevator… it is old and bounces around a lot in fact I was stuck in it the day I was checking out. They opened it fairly quick and waived the extra fees they normally tack on at checkout. Please note then when entering their garage which is gated and they open for you that your car is not near the gate as it opens outward bottom up and your car can be damaged. I would stay here again.

- Dmytro (3/5): The price doesn't match the expectation. - There was not a pleasant odor in the room, the room is dark and small. The furniture was old, the carpet was dirty. Everything looked much more beautiful on the photo than in reality.
- 747malazm (2/5): Very bad experience - I arrived at 3:20 PM, after the listed check-in time of 3:00 PM. The front desk gave me a room key, but when my friends and I went to the room, housekeeping told us it wasn’t ready. I tried calling the front desk, but no one answered, so we went back down to request a different room. The new room was extremely hot (80°F), and after lowering the thermostat, it only got worse. When we asked for assistance, we were shocked to learn the AC was already known to be broken, yet they still gave us that room. The manager also tried to move four adults into a room with just one king-size bed, even though she knew it was against hotel policy to add an extra bed or exceed the room’s capacity. I overheard her on speakerphone instructing the front desk not to help us unless we complained, and to suggest we file a complaint online to maybe get a discount later. I found this completely unacceptable and called the police. This experience was highly unprofessional and dishonest. I do not recommend this hotel.
- Karen (4/5): - The pictures are deceiving. The location of this hotel is not ideal for walking or being close to the downtown area. When we checked in, the gentleman at the front desk was friendly and respectful. However, during check-out, the woman at the front desk didn’t seem to be a morning person and appeared uninterested. Parking is very limited, and the hotel charges $30 for it. The inn is definitely old — while there’s been an attempt to modernize, it still feels outdated.

- ShF150 (4/5): A/C Doesn't Work - We picked this hotel because it got good reviews and the location was near family we were visiting. The first room we were given was 206. We arrived, turned on the A/C and left for the evening. When we returned around 10:30 PM, the room was still about 75 degrees. I called the front desk, someone came up to the room and confirmed the A/C was not working and moved us to room 203. She turned on the A/C, we felt cool air coming out of the vents and assumed that the room would cool off (when we arrived in the room, the thermostat said the temperature was 75 degrees). By this time it was 11pm and we needed to get to sleep. We woke around 2AM feeling hot and having a hard time sleeping. I checked the thermostat and it read 77 degrees! We could still feel cool air coming from the overhead vents but the cool air was not cooling the room. At 2AM we decided to make it through the night rather than trying to repack and get a new room. On checkout, I requested a refund and provided a photo showing the thermostat temperature and settings. I was assured someone would get back to me and no one did. So I called the front desk a few days later and was told that management had decided there would be no refund. If you decide to stay here, be aware that A/C may not work and management doesn't seem to care. On the positive side, the rooms are good size and nicely kept. Street can be noisy so request a room away from the street.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Inaccurate room pricing. - Although nightly cost of a reservation at the Carlyle Inn on Hotels.com states that it includes all taxes and fees, we found to our dismay that a "metropolitan fee" would be added to the cost. These add on fees are common to encourage competitive pricing, it has been our experience that we are advised of that prior to booking. On our experience on the stay, don't expect them to remember to provide a wake up call.

- Nona (2/5): - After inspecting the room and property, we decided not to stay and booked another hotel. The location felt unsafe, and the parking wasn't gated. We were given a room on the first floor, which was accessible directly from the street. Despite being told the hotel was fully booked, there were fewer than 10 cars in the parking lot (including the underground one). P.s. The room did not look like photos and the carpet was very dirty. Nice photography I must say.
- Mark (6/5): Would go again but the sound could be an issue. - Nice staff, safe location. However, the room (at least our room) had one of those shared doors. You could hear every word the neighbour was saying and they were not yelling. You could also smell what they were eating or doing.

- Robin (2/5): Mediocre to nightmare. - Ah let's see. No maid service. TV channels sucked. Bathroom toilet on the floor. Out early and returned late afternoon. Very quiet guest. In return for all this I was tossed out for no reason or explanation. Pass. No one stay at Carlyle Inn. Needs upgrading and is creepy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great choice for a one night stay - We stayed at the Carlyle Inn for one night only while visiting a family member. It was very convenient to Beverly Hills. This property feels older, but our room on the 4th floor was very clean. Beds and pillows were great. Remember, you are in busy BH/LA and so streets are noisy. We sleep with ear plugs, so noise was not an issue for us. Evening front desk was really helpful when I needed assistance with parking. The garage is small. Big vehicles will struggle. Overall, we'd stay here again.
