- jessicawW7816NP (8/5): Great Experience - I disagree with the reviews on here. We stayed for 3 nights for under £200. When we got here they upgraded us as the hotel was quiet. It is a lovely location very close to the underground, Kensington /Hyde Park and shops. Our room was quiet and just what we needed. Not massive but we don’t spend much time in them when we come here anyway. They have definitely been updated and renovated since the other pictures on here. Nice, clean and the staff were very friendly. The only thing I will say is that the shower gets dangerously hot and we struggle to adjust the temperature so had to turn it off wait and put it back on. Apart from that we would definitely stay here again. Great price and great location.
- annettemA6028SL (8/5): Great for an overnight stay on a budget. - Nice budget hotel, helpful staff at reception, looked after our bags as we arrived early and our room wasn’t ready. Lobby was clean and the lifts were working. Small lift, glad we had light luggage. Our room on 4th floor was small but adequate for a one night stay with all amenities we needed. Linen was spotless, bed very comfortable. Shower room tiny but clean and nice toiletries. Breakfast at additional £12pp was hot and wholesome, lots of choice and you could return for more. Checkout was easy as we’d prebooked online.
- Getaway47688097677 (4/5): Disappointed - Outside looked ok, just one tiny lift was working , trying to negotiate the corridors to find the room was like a maze, finally got to the room and it was very tired looking, scuffed cheap looking wardrobe door around 5ft from the floor, bed was comfy enough but only 1 pillow per person, rusty bathroom tap, shower had virtually no water pressure, small kitchenette with a sink and small electric hob in the same metal surface. The room was so hot overnight that we had to sleep with the window open in November, the breakfast was plentiful but cheap ingredients, upon checkout no feedback was asked for, wouldn’t bother again and would use a travelodge instead

Our rooms were clean, quiet, and the weather was nice enough that we could sleep with the windows open- though our window did not face the street. Rooms and bathrooms were small. But we were out touristing all day so I just wanted a hotel that was clean where we could sleep.

- John (8/5): A good choice - The room was very basic size but had free bottled water, a fridge and microwave. It was clean and very adequate for my one night stay. The bed was comfortable and l slept well with no noise to disturb me. The breakfast was good with the usual choices and tasty food. The lift was a bonus. Very convenient location for Queensway Underground and the lovely Kensington Gardens. Just the size of the room and no comfy sitting chair to read, work or watch the tv.

- Elaine (1/5): Bad accommodation - The staff was nice When we arrived, we had trouble finding the room. A staff member eventually guided us through several doors and corridors, eventually taking us to a basement area. The room was a shock – definitely not suitable for four people. It contained just two single beds and one double bed, and the overall space was clearly designed for two people at most. The setup felt more like staff accommodation than a guest room. There was a fridge and microwave, but no ventilation, and the mattresses were soft and felt cheap. Given the conditions, we decided not to stay and immediately requested a full refund.

- aaronu797 (2/5): Poor Hotel - I’ve been waiting over 3 weeks for my deposit to be refunded, even though I was in the room for less than 5 minutes. Rang 3 times in the past week and told I would get a response next working day - no response so rang back and told the same thing, then rang on. a friday night to be told the same and no managers are in till monday! The room looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com – completely misleading, the room is like a box you have no space to move about. The staff were rude and unhelpful when I raised my concerns. Overall, very disappointing and not worth the hassle.

- Derek (6/5): Ok with a few hiccups - The staff at the hotel are excellent and worked extremely hard to make our stay comfortable. However, there were some issues with the wifi, room phone and tv channels and we had to move rooms because of this. A gentleman from the front desk worked so hard to resolve these issues and we greatly appreciated his time and effort! We were in a basement room for 4 people which was super spacious and clean, but a strange smell came from the air conditioning unit when you turned it on. The breakfast was great and the hotel is so close to the train and the city! A good hotel if you are looking for affordable lodging, close to main attractions, with great staff!
- Journey10995694424 (2/5): Poor communication - I booked them through Booking.com. I tried to call them several times prior my arrival to ensure everything was ok, but nobody picked up. I left them a voice message as well, but no response. When I came there in the evening, I was told that they won't be able to host me, due to the room maintainance, and sent me to a sister hotel, which was absolutely dirty, and we ended up not staying there because of the poor hygiene.

The rooms were very small, beds were very wobbly. We didn’t saying anything as it was a short stay and didn’t have much of an impact. Awful fat smell as you went through the dining room to the first floor even in the evenings.

- Altamimi (1/5): Baddddd - Nothing Our check-out experience was unacceptable. Oksana, the staff member at the desk, was uncooperative and displayed a rude attitude. Her colleague simply left for a break, leaving us with an unresolved issue regarding our deposit. We had clearly confirmed and received approval for a late check-out, yet at the last minute they demanded the deposit and refused to store our luggage. This forced us to stand with all our belongings, creating an unnecessary and extremely frustrating situation. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic customer service was shocking.

- Anonymous (3/5): Disappointing - Beds were comfortable and location to Hyde Park Check in was horrendous- lack of staff and took nearly 2hrs to check in, even though they were expecting large numbers of guests (we were heading to BST at Hyde park). The room was so small you couldn’t open the bathroom door half way without hitting the bed and the bathroom was dirty, with someone’s hair everywhere. In fairness didn’t complain as by the time we were checked in we were already late for the festival and was too late by the time we got back. Overall was a poor experience and will not be staying here again even with the discount offered though BST!

That needs to be stated that the room has no AC. So I asked for a room with AC, got it, but no TV, twin bed, when I booked a queen, and room very dirty. Stains all over carpet, dirty walls. Asked for some ice...no ice. No ice machines. NO FRILLS HOTEL. Look elsewhere!!

I asked the reception staff for a different room, and despite the hotel being very busy, the staff member did his best to accommodate our needs. The location is also perfect, as it is conveniently located next to one of the main bus stops, making it easy to travel around.

The shower hadn’t been cleaned and the room was extremely small. No bedside lamps or tables and no seat for the very small vanity table.

Microwave out of order, tiny lift to basement: would not fit more than 2 of us at a time, lift 1 out of order the all stay, lift 2 out of order the 2 lasts days of our trip. Noisy room in the bassement (we would hear everything that happen in the street night and day).

- Verified traveler (4/5): Terrible - The hotel was in an ideal location but that was the only good thing about it. The showers didn’t work. We booked a family room so we could celebrate a birthday when we woke up in the morning but they messed up the booking and we ended up having to have two separate rooms. The hotel was very noisy throughout the entire night which made it impossible to sleep. I would not stay here again.
- Claire (4/5): Very disappointing. - Good location. We stayed in room 9001, in the basement. There was no air conditioning, just a fan in the room, which was not enough to help with the heat. The window only opened slightly so there was no air circulation. The beds were so uncomfortable, the mattresses were so thin. The steps outside the window were in constant use by staff so there was little privacy. I spoke to reception who said the hotel was fully booked and they could not help.

Which meant my 2 children had to sleep in a room with no adult. The room I ended up with smelt really strongly of cigarette smoke. I couldn’t move, as I was next door to my children.

Had to leave room early (8.15am and I am not a morning person) in order to get some cool air! Nice and cool outside. Probably 20C cooler outside than in room. Water went off whilst I was in the shower. Complained to reception staff who said there was nothing they could do but I could email in. Fridge in room that was extremely hot/dangerous on outside.

- Brooke (5/5): Unorganised. - The location was perfect as we went to BST at Hyde Park. Beautiful building too. Check in was horrific! Arrived at 1, was told to come back at 3 for check in. Arrived back at 2.50 and there was a queue down the street so we stood for half an hour in the blazing sun to check in. A man in a suite, likely the manager arrived and ushered everyone inside so we weren’t queueing on the street. Eventually my husband and I got to the desk to stand for another 15mins to be told our room wasn’t ready. We complained and they managed to find a room for us. The room was absolutely tiny and cramped. Thankfully it was clean! And just to add they tried to charge us £520 instead of the booked £238! Not worth it at all, but the location was perfect. Very unorganised for a weekend where there were lots of events and concerts locally.
