Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (9/5): I would stay again. Lovely - Location, aesthetics, clean comfy Stairs no lift with bags
- kevin (9/5): -
- Anne (4/5): Cheap but quality reflects this. Beautiful location a shame as with a few teouches and attention to detail it would ate - Location, very close to beach and coastal walk Grubby rooms mildew around window and toiletries dispensers. Wet stairs in the morning creating hazard for entry and exit
- Natalie (10/5): -

- Deborah (9/5): Love the Cloey - near the beach and great transport connections to Sydney - Great location, good pub and food
- Martin (9/5): Fab location, nice rooms, very comfortable bed, great sound proofing from pub noise. Good value for money. Lovely staff - Fab location, nice rooms, very comfortable bed, great sound proofing from pub noise. Good value for money. Lovely staff Nothing
- Janette (10/5): Had a wonderful stay at the Clovelly, staff very helpful. - The location was perfect for what we needed. The facilities were excellent. The was nothing not to like.
- Alicia Maria Marlies (8/5): - For first-time visitors to Sydney, it was amazing. My husband and I walked along the beach and cliffside path to Bondi almost every morning. There is a great coffee place across the street and plenty nearby. Overall, it’s not a quiet accommodation, which we were aware of. Everything was clean and went smoothly. Private parking is available. We also took the bus a couple of times, which stops right in front of the hotel. The air conditioning was leaking water besides that all good

- Helen (10/5): Wish that we could have stayed for longer. - Friendliness of all the staff. Our room was clean & bright, the bathroom was super clean & modern. We were upgraded on arrival, which was a really nice surprise. The room was very spacious with a king bed & a view of the water. We also had a great meal in the dining room.
The hotel is in a great location & just minutes walk to the beach or the coastal walking path, which took us as far as Bondi in the north & Coogee to the south. We loved the location! The on-site parking was unexpectedly closed due to a private function that was being held at the hotel.
- JULIA (10/5): Perfect for us - Location 0
- Devin (10/5): Comfortable beach stay with great food onsite. - Very clean, comfortable, and stylish. Good beach vibes in the decor and views of the beach from the room. Excellent restaurant inside the hotel with some very tasty dishes, and a short walk to the beach. Room door took some extra force to shut - didn’t close on its own. Not a big deal…
- Camilla (9/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): Beautiful beachside getaway! Loved everything about our stay - Location location! Gorgeous room with ocean view, dinner downstairs both nights was just perfect.
- Jacqueline (8/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Close beach and Sydney. Great location with pub and dining. - Convenient location with some free parking underneath Nothing
- Debbie (10/5): Love staying here, perfect location and excellent rooms and service. - Great location, friendly and professional staff. Nothing.

- Denise (8/5): Great location close to beach and easy to get to the city. - This was a great location close to a lovely beach, nice restaurants in walking distance and only 30 minutes by bus into the city. Bus stop just outside. Room was lovely and staff were helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The Clovelly is a very lively pub and restaurant probably more suited to a younger vibe than us nearing our 60’s. It was family friendly and serves good food. They also manage their outside terrace so it closes at 10 pm which meant the noise did not affect our stay. We would certainly stay again because the location was so good,
- Victoria (8/5): Fun place to stay in a great location, good pub food and a lively place to have a bit of fun without going out further…. - Great location, rooms were cute and staff were helpful in the limited interaction we had Rooms were a little on the small side - for the price .. bathroom door was gappy …and it didn’t bother us too much but a few stairs to climb to get to the room
- Billyoscar (10/5): Fantastic - Awesome place, fantastic staff, Katie is a legend Nothing
- Hugo (10/5): -
- Charlie (8/5): -
- Brendan (9/5): Cosy - Cosy close to the beach and walks Little bit pricey but great location
- Simon (9/5): -
- Danny (10/5): We had an excellent time. - Good location No phone charger points
- Anthony L (10/5): -
- TIMO (7/5): - Location Room layout, hard pillows
- Josephine (10/5): Lively but quiet …. - Fabulous place to stay, quieter than Bondi or nearby Coogee. Rooms were super clean, big towels, bright spartan rooms with everything you need, being at the pub means food and drinks available most of the time, breakfast is just across the road… highly recommended Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Rachael (7/5): Good - Close to the beach and easy access to the bistro
Beds were comfy and clean Communication prior to check in was extremely poor, no or prolonged replies to messages and emails
Mould in bathroom showers and entering an exiting via carpark after hours
- shaw (9/5): -
- Breda (10/5): Perfect location, friendly helpful staff, We would book the hotel again if in Sydney - Perfect location, all staff were very welcoming and helpful, we highly recommend the hotel Would be good if there was a lift, having said that, the staff helped with our bags
- Jacqui (9/5): Great hotel and facilities in awesome location. - Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but enough local eateries to sample both good. Loved being near the ocean No one on reception and had to leave bags unattended which didnt think was great. This was before check in.
- Anamika (6/5): - The location was nice. Very Fresh and beachy interior. I booked a beach view and didn't get it, I specifically booked that for my mum who has health conditions that restrict her from actually walking on the beach, So the view was a way for her to experience the beautiful coastline, however we did not get a window in our room. The Lift wasn't working, making her stay feel like really hard work than a little beach getaway. She managed to go up and down the stairs, but then had to go to the doctors clinic the day after as her conditions were exacerbated. The broken lift was not communicated to us prior to our arrival, and heard that it was broken for weeks.
I asked the staff to ask the management for bookings to contact me about some compensation or just to share feedback and they didn't follow through with it. Although they were nice polite and seemingly willing to help, they didn't really provide me with the customer support I was after and said I can leave a review. Which to me is just more work for a customer than getting what you have paid for. Pretty underwhelming sadly.
- Patricia (10/5): Very happy and will come again !!! - Very comfortable and friendly staff especially holly !! Clean and friendly Can’t say anything maybe except the stairs leading up to the room but obviously can’t be helped
- Debbie (10/5): Our stay was perfect. - The location was close to the Clovelly Bowling Club for the event that I attended. The staff were very helpful, friendly and went out of their way to assist me. The stairs were a bit awkward to manage as the lift was out of order, although the attendants asked if we needed help with bags.
- Katrina (7/5): -
- jennifer (10/5): Very Pleasant - Great location, serve lunch and dinner. Bus service right out the front, about a 50 meter walk and your at the beach. Also across the road you have a great little coffee shop. Also we have family that live close by
- Christine (8/5): - Great location. Clean and tidy. Rooms are quite small
- Harriet (10/5): Would recommend - Such a beautiful location
- jen (10/5): - Helpful friendly staff, exceptional food, room was beautiful very comfortable bed- appreciate tea and coffee and shampoo etc, close to centre , lovely walk to Coogee Nothing not too like
- Edward (8/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Nice hotel with access to beach and walk to Bondi - First didn’t know I could take suitcases on the 339 bus. I did on way back to Sydney centre - saved a lot of money compared to arriving. But that’s got nothing to do either this comfortable hotel (they do highlight the 339 to get there.)
My room was big enough for a solo, would be cosy for two - but manageable. Nice comfy bed, cool room. Nice bar and restaurant in hotel. Lights in corridor at night. Understand they need to be in. Would just prefer they were dimmed. Taxi fair to get there (but I now know you can carry cases on the bus).
- Chanana (5/5): -
- Julie (6/5): Good location but they need to up their game with cleaning - Location was great The room was not clean on arrival, nor was it cleaned each day of our stay. The tables in the hotel were always dirty
- Bronwyn (10/5): - Rooms were beautiful and very clean, and we were offered a free upgrade with a sea view. Receptionist was a lovely woman, staff friendly. N/A
- Sylvia Saccuti (8/5): -
- Chantelle (10/5): Cozy, comfortable and perfect coastal stay. - I liked the accomodation as it was quite cozy and spacious, had everything i could of needed and the pub downstairs which was perfect. Close to transport and the beach, cute cafes with coastal view. I don’t have any negative things to add about the accomodation, apart from waiting for a staff member for check in and out, who weren’t too far away at the bar.
- Mollee (9/5): - We liked the location, view and room amenities (King family room). The bed was comfortable and the room had good air conditioning. It was also easy and convenient to get to the city via the bus. The noise from the pub was quite loud on Friday night until around 11pm. You could also hear your neighbour through the wall occasionally - though that may just be because we had a young family next door.
- Rosalie (5/5): - nobody was there to check us in, we were not informed when they closed down the hotel for the night. there is no one at the property during the night
- Andreas (9/5): - Genial am Meer gelegen.
- Philip (9/5): Very pleasant - Large room with well equipped bathroom in an excellent location for the beach and coastal walks. Secluded outdoor space would be a bonus.
- Greg (9/5): Another incredible stay at this absolute gem. -
- patrick (10/5): Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir - La proximité de la plage , l’ambiance Rien
- Janice (9/5): Great location for short visit to Clovelly. - Location was good. Room very modern and spacious modern bathroom with fabulous shower. The garden bar and other bars on the ground floor were a bit noisy.
- Joaquin (10/5): Excellent stay near the beach. Good coffee around. Clean and tidy room. Thanks - Location and cleanliness
- Alessia (10/5): -
- Jordan (8/5): Great value for money and was a way better stay then we thought it would be. - Comfy bed. Great location. Rooms clean and recently renovated. Fresh and clean Was a little loud but we knew that would be part of the deal
- Breda (10/5): - Excellent location, friendly helpful staff, good food
- Paul (8/5): Lovely location to start our trip to Sydney - Fantastic location in proximity to Clovelly Beach. Room was very bright and comfortable. Staff were very relaxed and friendly and even though we only stayed two week nights there were no issues with noise from the busy bar below. Not a dislike but it would have been a bit cramped with our luggage if we were staying long term.
- Lisa (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Classic Aussie! Super chill and relaxed near the beach. We loved it! - Loved the relaxed beachy vibe! Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were freshly renovated and comfy and so close to the beach 😎 Food and bevvies were also tasty and good value. The stairs could be a challenge with a large bag. Fortunately a very athletic member of staff carried my bag up! Also, it’s a shame there’s no possibility of brekky in the morning because the pub doesn’t open until 10am
- James (10/5): Excellent - Good clean safe accommodation
Good food downstairs I noticed the doors on the balcony for adjoining rooms don’t seem to lock properly
- Margot (9/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Pleasant and Comfortable - The architecture of the building and the arched windows. We were upgraded to a seaview room which we appreciated. Simple yet comfortable room offering hotel amenities. Staff friendly and polite. Walking distance to Clovelly and Coogee beaches. N/A
- Claire (8/5): - Great location above a lively weekend bar and restaurant. Near to the beach. Clean and with a comfy bed. Room was small so a slight struggle with two large suitcases. Felt like the bar and restaurant were the main focus so reception staff not often around.
- Michelle (9/5): - Great location, great room with nearby new bathroom. Super comfortable all that you need, air-conditioned which was fantastic on a super hot day 😊 Need to be checked-in by 9pm, otherwise there is absolutely nothing not to like.
- David (9/5): -
- Anna (9/5): - Great renovation. Small but practical rooms. All you need and nothing more.
- StaceyGrace (9/5): Great Stay - I love the area. The Clovelly Hotel is the perfect location. Run, walk swim, snorkeling all at your door step. Great coffee & breakfast across the road. Great food at the pub. I will be back again. Great staff. I wanted to thank Katie for her wonderful smile and service ❤️ There wasn't anything to dislike.

- Alison (10/5): Perfect for our needs, lovely location. Very nice and helpful staff - Polite, helpful staff. Ckean room, comfortable bed. Nice view
- James (6/5): eazy relazed - clean room and good food stairs
- Sabrina (9/5): - The location and view of the ocean was amazing. I can recommend the ocean view rooms. They are worth it.
A breakfast possibility would be nice, but there are really good cafes nearby. I havent seen much of the staff and their main priority was the pub/ restaurant, which was fine for me.
Yes, it can be load, but that didnt bother me.
- Emma (10/5): It was perfect. I slept soundly and felt well rested after being on a plane for 24 hours. - I did not have breakfast. Was having a night of rest after long haul flight before catching another plane home. The room, bed etc were sublime. Would have loved a bath but really didn’t matter. A bath tub is the only inclusion I would have loved.
