Guest Reviews
- Abin (8/5): - Breakfast ought to be complimentary on the day of check out as well.
TV /lights weren't working.
No water kettle in the room.
Shower water was dark and had to be left on for a few minutes!!
- Maxime (6/5): - Nice staff. But no AC ams very limited airflow.
Very noisy outside, so can't let windows open a night.
- V (10/5): - Quick walk to local metro station.
- Naod (2/5): - Room & toilets is small no air conditioner
- Vaibhav (10/5): - Great stay
- Danielle (10/5): - Loved this ibis the location was great, away from the hustle and bustle (and over pricing!) for tourists in central Paris we adored this location. Only negative was the aggressive women at breakfast this morning whom followed me regarding a ticket and then stared at me the whole time I drank my coffee, was really intimidating - but that’s not representative of the whole hotel just one individual staff member
- Liseme (4/5): - Didn’t match our expectations for a 3 star hotel.
A tiny room and shower space not accommodating.
No fridge, no kettle or comfortable seats.
- Stephanie (2/5): - If you can find a shoe box to stay, might be more comfortable than this place. Prices are high, spaces are not. You will be hot no matter what and the window barely opens. Good luck staying here in the middle of the summer…
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The beds are so comfortable
- Peter (8/5): - Stayed previously…ok and convenient.
Small rooms, overpriced.
- Elaine (4/5): - Rooms very very small. Minimum facilities.
- jeffrey (4/5): A poor example of an Ibis - Check in was really slow, room was hot and only way to cool it was to open the window but that meant it was noisy. Paper cups in the room which if left with water in, for 5 mins, the bottom dropped out narrowly missing my laptop! Only took breakfast one day but glad I missed the first one. Dirty cups, no cutlery, poor hot choices. Not expecting the Ritz Carlton but even for an Ibis it was sub standard
- Mitoko (4/5): - The bathroom was way too small and there were no amenities. The placement of the hotel and room size was just generally not great.
- Terence (8/5): - Good for the money
- Juan Diego (6/5): - Clean room, comfy bed. Friendly staff.
The bathroom is tiny and it takes some skill to get in the shower. Water pressure is dismal and the breakfast is pretty limited.
- Andrew (8/5): Mmmmmm - not exactly what i expected. - Ok - so the location was ideal for what we wanted ( Le Zenith concert venue). Metro was nearby to get into central Paris. The area is pretty with some nice bars and gentle nightlife around.
What wasn't so ideal was the directions to park our car in the hotel car park - put this in your gps they said. 3 miles later and on the outskirts of Paris in a one way system wasnt what i expected!!
The room was small, as is the case in Paris, but it smelt of stale curry, and the bathroom door / wall was mouldy from the shower. Not worth the £300 we paid for 2 nights, plus 50 euros parking.
- Ronald (4/5): - The area around I thought was more down town Nairobi. Beggars homeless and smell of drugs. Entrance to the hotel is through buzzing in which indicates issues . No level of Airconditioning yet 32 degrees … no fridge to keep water or drinks on your room cool . Travelling a lot disappointing but seems to be std in Paris
- David (6/5): - The room we stayed in was very small, I’m a big lad and couldn’t fit in the bathroom, I had to use the toilet in the main reception 4 floors below us , the service from Staff was excellent, the food was very good and the bed very comfortable, there was no tea or coffee making equipment in the room or no litter bin.
- Lisa (8/5): - Loved the canal view, and liked that there are several restaurants/cafes nearby. Metro is quite close. Staff was very friendly
Only thing is the room was quite warm (7th floor in summer), and there were some small bugs in the bathroom that come with the territory of being a wet, warm room. Overall, not a bad stay for one night.
- geoffrey (8/5): - The open lounge area and decoration was very pleasing to the eye.
Outside the hotel was disappointing, because of the pigeon mess and dog mess on the pavement.
- Ferid (6/5): - No one knows english that works there, heater didn’t work so well either.
- Annoyed (2/5): - They took our money, then didn't answer the phone or emails.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked the view, however the room was very small and the bathroom even smaller. Could barely sit on the toilet or stand in the shower as it was so tiny. The hairdryer and shower in general also weren’t the best in terms of providing best use.
- Dániel (10/5): Nice and friendly place - The room is quite small but it was clean and nice. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They also helped us to order an airport transfer. Thank you again!
- Ula (10/5): - Friendly always smiling staff .Great breakfast.Clean!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not ideal for tourist, too par from main Paris. Morning staff were not that helpful, especially the breakfast lady, she was extremely rude.
- Amir (8/5): - Every thing was fine except location which looks not safe at night times specially. Also a bar close to hotel made noise after midnight too. Hotel staff were amazing good service and cleaning was fantastic.
- Abdelhaq (8/5): Fabulous - Wonderful location very quiet and so peaceful
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing upon arrival - I booked 2 rooms - an accessible room for 2 and a standard room for 1 - both were advertised as being a standard double bed however upon arrival it was clear that there was no double bed but two SINGLE beds pushed together, I easily fell through the middle of the mattress and when I complained I was told my friend with accessibility issues should just ‘sleep on the other bed’ - staff were rude at the beginning of my stay and not at all considerate to the fact my friend was confined to a wheelchair thus the bed issue was not a futile matter. Our key cards to our rooms were faulty at least 4 times considering our stay was only 4 nights. The room itself was clean however I felt lied to as I had to switch rooms with my friend in order for my accessible partner to get a bed in which they wouldn’t fall through the middle. I didn’t expect the world from a 3 star hotel but I did expect common decency.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Ibis being branded hotels, I never expected that they would offer such small rooms. Hotel room is pretty small and bathrooms are the one's which are terrible. Very small bathrooms, there is no place even for a person wipe their face after a wash. Very disappointed with the room size.
- IAN (6/5): - Large hotel 10 minutes walk from 2 metro stations. Nohing much else nearby.
Room I was allocated was at rear overlooking scruffy apartment block and was a bit noisy at night due to apartment block residents hanging around.
CCTV everywhere, although no security at hotel main entrance.
Would not stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My birthday surprise that was waiting in the room after a day out with husband and granddaughters
- David (6/5): Ibis Paris la Villette - This hotel was far too busy to be relaxing, big queues at breakfsat at all times, but staff were very helpful
- David (6/5): Ibis Quia d l'Oise - Quiet and cocnvernient, but a very busy hotel
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Staff in general are rude and impolite! Theres bed bugs everywhere and the condition OF the bed itself is really rubbish! When u lie down with some one you both end up in the middle! I have never seen a hotel with just a mattress topper! Bathroom is extremely small you can barely movie! Housekeeper opens door even with a Do Not Dusturb sign on the door handle. Doesnt even knock at All! So I Do NOT and Cannot Recommend it to anyone!!!Rubbish hotel! Oh and theres Pick pockets everywhere bear the hotel area!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and cheap - 2 day trip and good locaTion cheap
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It's basic small and clean. Beds a little small. Fine for a short stay.. Location by the canal and near to metro and a great range of local shops makes it alluring. Easy access to all main tourist sites.
- Robert (6/5): - We liked the location, especially its proximity to the train station. The room was functional, very small, but still comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning it every day of our 6-night stay. The buffet breakfast was good enough.
One thing we didn’t like is the curt demeanor of the front desk guy who checked us in and out, specifically on the mornings of August 4 and August 10, around 8am. He even scolded us for not letting them know the day before that we wanted receipts. You should know who this guy is; he is French, we are sure. The rest of the front desk staff were courteous and helpful.
- Jamie (2/5): Pick anywhere else. - We got there and the booking information they had wrong for us, we then got given our room and the carpet was soaking wet, we then got changed too a room with 2 single beds even though we specified a double bed. The breakfast was over priced and awful, and food and drinks said 24 hours but they seemed too close at 23:00. The entire stay there was groups of people outside stopping me from sleeping
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice clean hotel with good food, good service as well. A fan in the rooms would be great as it was quite warm. Overall is pretty good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel is clean and well run. Exactly what I wanted.
- David (4/5): - Bad location. Staff was not friendly . Far from central paris
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was more than helpful on many occasions. This particular hotel is within a block of two metro stations so transportation was no problem.
The only issue I had was there was no air conditioning. Other than that I had a pleasant stay
- Henk (10/5): - Location was very nice; breakfast was a mess; large groups and the available crew could not follow.
- Michael (6/5): Paris Ibis - A standard budget hotel. Ibis is a great chain of hotels but their Paris hotels are in need of renovations. WiFi good. Location so-so. Not really central. Including walk to the Metro etc. it's a 30 minute journey to Hotel de Ville. The hotel is 12 minutes from Crimee. No local shops for snacks or drinks but lots of bars and restaurants. Out of all the Paris hotels I've stayed at in the last 10 years, I'd only give this a pass but acceptable if you get a very good rate. Otherwise, I'd pay more and stay at an Ibis closer to central to save travel time.
- Chloe (8/5): - Lovely hotel and staff, unfortunately the rooms are a little small, and there is no kitchen area in the rooms. Also the hairdryer isn't the best and the TV only shows French channels. But overall great stay and works well for a few days and it's is situated well for tourism.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff could have been more accommodating to us
- Miss Kate (4/5): - The hotel didn't ruin our stay as we had a lovely weekend in Paris, but goodness me was it awful. I'm not sure who gave it a 3-star rating but someone with no clue obviously. Grumpy staff on check-in, and slightly rude cleaners. We were only given one towel each and a hand towel, which had to go on the floor next to the shower because water kept leaking out when we were in there. The towels were also awful quality. No amenities in room at all, not even a kettle which you'd expect from 3 star. Bed was also awful as it was a double made up of two singles that kept moving apart in the night to form a gap which we kept falling down. It was the cheapest option we could find at slightly late notice, but would never stay there again.
- any (10/5): - Very close to park de la villete. Great activities for kids. 4 min walk to the metro. The staff was really nice and the view frol the room was lovely
- Thornton (10/5): - Perfect location. Great staff. Very clean.
- B (8/5): - Functional and efficient. Good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel,, little dicey at night,, had to get buzzed in
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent - Decent and breakfast was good. I slept well. There isn’t too many restaurants of choice around but you can still find something
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pleasent stay, room was clean, the staff were helpful. The hotel is in a good area close to several metro stations shops and just a 10 minute walk from the rer Rosa parks train station. I would use this hotel again when visiting Paris
- Christian (6/5): Dangerous neighborhood and unhelpful staff. - The neighborhood felt very dangerous at night and the hotel was not helpful about being flexible. Overall a disappointing stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very small room with even smaller bathroom but clean and well located for what I wanted
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice location, but hotel could be better - the rooms were very small particularly the bathrooms, couldn't move in it. The beds aren't as comfortable as they want you to believe. Worst was the constant noise, we were the 1st floor which isn't shut off from the lobby, paper thin walls in the rooms ( can hear your neighbouring room all the time!) also strange noises from the plumbing day and night.
Terrible sleep, shame as the location is ideal. I would avoid staying here again.
- Lisa (8/5): - Hotel was very clean and good value for money if you are not looking for anything fancy, service at downstair bar /restaurant was very poor, seemed to look after the French much better than the English, no Tea or coffee facilities, would definitely book again tho for price and location for The Zenith music Hall.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great value, perfect for one night stay for a gig at ale Zenith.
- Christopher (2/5): Horrible - The smell in the bathroom was horrible. Me and my significant other were very unhappy with this smell, and both of us were feeling sick after just 2 nights there. We were moved to a different room after our first night, yet the bathroom in the new room smelled equally as bad. The smell was from mildew/mold that seemed to be a product of both the shower and sink drains, and the towels. A hotel room bathroom should not start to smell of mildew after one use of the sink or shower, yet this was the case. We were so deterred by the smell that we ended up leaving 2 nights early and staying in another hotel. I never plan on using this company again for a hotel room.
- Judith (10/5): - Quaint place, clean, friendly staff!
- Alex (2/5): Bed bugs + Mugging (but good customer service!) - There was great customer service - BUT - I got bitten by loads of insects in the bed, and someone in a halloween mask tried to mug me outside circa 8:30pm. Although it doesn't seem like a rough area, this might have been a fluke. Could do with a good renovation and de-bugging!
- k (6/5): Nice hotel, rooms rather small. - Room rather small as was the bathroom, however it was clean.
- bev (6/5): Adequate hotel at budget price - Disappointing that the hotel facilities let it down. Breakfast was frequently unstocked, with inadequate staff able to replenish supplies if coach party had just had breakfast. Evening food options extremely limited and facilities closed early, leaving us to resort to eating elsewhere. Frequently difficulties with lifts, caused by cards being invalidated.
Rooms however we're adequate and reflected price paid, however the bathroom was cramped and poorly fitted out. The shower doors handles were in fact just open holes in glass panes. This meant that water was able to flow out of the shower cubicle onto the bathroom floor. With no bath mats provided, this made the bathroom floor dangerously sloppy and indeed led to an injury caused by a fall.
- Rhys (8/5): My first trip to France - This hotel is out of the way, but still good value for money given it proximity to the centre of Paris. Once you've found it (close to Corentin Cariou Metro station), the Staff were very friendly. The local view was good from room 622 on the front of the hotel. Overall the room was comfortable and functional, sink is big enough to wash your clothes in, good breakfast buffet. Be aware the restaurant is closed on a Friday and Saturday evenings, not sure why seems to missing some good business. My only real criticism is a local establishment called "Le Place" which produces a lot of noise till about 1am on Saturdays. Lovely large open-ably window. On a final note I was pleasantly surprised to learn the Tap water in Paris tastes pretty good. I would definitely visit this hotel again.
- Peter (8/5): Canal highs. - Beautifully located on the canal. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Reception and staff very good. Rooms small but functional. Only real gripe was no air conditioning but for what we paid perhaps too much to expect. A particularly hot weekend which made sleeping uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location - Excellent location but the room is not clean enough. There is a lot of hair under the bed sheet and around the wall up to the ceiling in the bathroom
- Verified traveler (8/5): Suited our needs exactly - The hotel is in a quieter part of the city with nearby access to transit and all the amenities needed close by.
- Eve (6/5): Nice view at night - The hotel room is too small and the toilet was way too small. I'm rating it 3 because it's very close to metro, easy to locate and the view at night was great.
- David (10/5): - I was attending Mondiale du Tatouage and the location was perfect for me and the hotel was my best choice! Enjoyed my stay to the fullest.
- Anthony (8/5): Good value for money - Good Ibis hotel kept to a good standard, though the rooms felt a little bit tired, but I am being picky here. The biggest issue for me was the very small narrow bathroom , whilst I am not a svelte individual I am not big... but I had to plan and manoeuvre if I wanted to go to toilet . Shower was also in the "very compact" category... but all well maintained, and in good working order .
Breakfast at 10.50 consisted of breads ham cheese cereal fruit yogurt and juices coffee and teas .. so ok .
- Rich (2/5): No air conditioning! - No AC in the rooms and mosquitoes got in with the windows open. Hot in the rooms.
Breakfast was a mad rush of people with 3 of 4 days nit even checking if the meal plan was purchased. I know people who ate for free while I had paid.
- Kurt (8/5): Great - Friendly staff and the hotel was clean, I would stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for, good value for money - The hotel was good value for money, you get what you pay for! Room was small and compact, bathroom tiny but the mattresses were extremely comfortable and the hotel was quiet so I had 3 fantastic nights sleep. The room was cleaned daily and new sheets and towels provided. The only thing we wouldn't recommend was the breakfast which was quite meagre for 10.5 euros.
- Kokoro (10/5): Best Hotel I have stayed In. - It really is the best hotel I have stayed in. Views, food, staff, convienience. I loved staying there. Why cant uk hotels be this good?
- Gareth (8/5): Villette a view - The Hotel is within easy Metro reach of the touristic areas of Paris. My seventh floor room provided a lovely view of the canal and a wonderful sun-rise each morning over the Grande Halle De La Villette site. Unfortunately the minor drawback was that in the evening you could hear everything going on outside and the smell of cigarette smoke wafted upwards from the pavement.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good experience with this hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Lovely staff, breakfast and location looking over canal. Room basic and small but comfy enuff for low price. Rooms sheets bed towels furnishings etc could do with major refurb and really wish someone had dusted the room anf remived brown stain from carpet. Tv very old and no English channels or dvd.
- Gabrielle (8/5): No luggage a room, Late Checkout €25 - The 4 days we stayed were great, had a nice view of canal from our window. Rooms quite small, but cute. Disappointed we had to pay an extra €25 to check out late on the last day as our flight was in the evening. They refused to hold our luggage in a luggage room in the hotel because of 'government regulations'. Not sure how true that was but should have offered a discounted rate as it was only an extra 4 hours!
- Maria (8/5): Mini break - The hotel was very relaxing the veiws are beautiful .
The room though small was moden the shower was great for hot water but the toilet area was cramped and very compact.
The bed was comfortable and house keeping was very good .
The staff were very helpful and resturant service good.
- Amanda (10/5): Clean hotel, friendly staff - We stayed here for 3 nights. It was easy to find and in a great location for the outskirts of Paris if staying with children, with a great view across the canal to the park. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. There is a 25m swimming pool around the corner, handy to know as the hotel doesn't have one. The price was very reasonable, we will stay here again.
- Aisling (8/5): - Great location. Room a little small and no air conditioning. Room very warm. But moneY's worth
- Verified traveler (6/5): A Nice Hotel - I was here with my girlfriend for four nights in Paris this weekend. The hotel was very pleasant and location was pretty good, a 5 minute walk to the metro. There were a few gangs of guys hanging around the area during the day and at night but there was never any issues. The room was clean and nice but a little small, no complaints however. The check in and out staff were very friendly and helpful, all in all it was a nice stay.
- Phili (10/5): Excellent value for money, Quiet location. - Great value hotel with fair sized room for Paris. Easy access to the City (approx 15 minutes).
Nice area facing pretty canal basin. Parking can be a problem, but is free at weekends.
Lots of local activity and a large range of eateries available within 5 minutes walk, in addition to the Pasta Pizza restaurant contained within the hotel.
Easy to recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good stay and the hotel is clean - good stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Location. - Great location with view over canal basin to Parc de la Villette and the new Philharmonie de Paris (a 15 minute walk through the Park), Easy walk to two metro stations Ourcq on Line 5 and Corentin-Cariou on Line 7 however best to walk down the Canal St Martin to Stalingrad or Jaurés.
- D K F (4/5): Simple - Bit outdated, things starting to fall apart, only just to sleep over the nights, nothing more to be expected.
- Mr H (6/5): Business stay in Paris - Good ratio price vs quality
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel - I went away with a friend as a holiday for our birthday and the hotel wasn't too bad! The neighbourhood was a little dodgy but the hotel itself was nice and we had a lovely little view of the river from our room. The room was a little small but for the price we paid it was expected! Hotel staff were nice and helpful. Overall, a nice visit with a nice hotel
- Jessica (8/5): Wonderful stay. - We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, everything was to our needs, and the surrounding area was lovely to stay in. The room was spotless, and had everything we needed for a short stay.
- normski (6/5): Good budget hotel North of Paris - Staff helpful, Hotel, was clean but perhaps the rooms could do with updating and they were very small. Although for the money it was very good value. There was free Wifi. Breakfast was a extra charge but we still found it good value.
We did have to change rooms, but this was quickly dealt with very quickly and they did check to see if all was well the next day.
The Hotel is only a short walk to the nearest train station to get into the centre of Paris.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ibis Review - Nice hotel with a nice view on the canal and La Geode. Only downside is the slowness of the free Wifi, making it even too slow for browsing the BBC news site, not to mention any music or video streaming. They have a faster service option, but you have to pay extra for it!
- Omer (8/5): Friendly, clean, modern, and quite location. - Stayed two nights here with a couple friends. We had a room each with double beds. Arrived around 8pm and check-in was friendly and quick. All rooms on the same floor (5th). My room was small but clean, wooden flooring and queen/king bed. Bathroom appeared cramped at first but actually ok. Plenty of light and nice shower too. Plenty of towels too though possibly the thinnest I've ever used.
We had one evening meal in the hotel's restaurant. Good choice and quality without being spectacular. Buffet breakfast (9 euros) also enjoyable with choice of cereals, crepes, juices, croissant, pain au chocolat, etc. Not the most largest buffet in the world but the basics are there and good tasting too. Staff service and attention very good in the restaurant too.
Overall a very comfortable stay in a basic but good quality hotel. Would happily return to stay if required. My first stay at an IBIS hotel and glad I booked.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Exceeded expectations. - Proved to be an excellent location for the Grande Hall conference centre.
I was expecting the worst after reading some of the negative reviews but was pleasantly surprised.
Pros:
Friendly Staff.
Decent food.
Nice clean rooms.
Cons:
No toothpaste provided, only some liquid soap.
Thin walls a big problem when you have a barking dog and crying babies in the adjoining rooms (no ear plugs available).
Holes in the shower doors used as handles, result in the bathroom floor being flooded.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very close to the fascinating Parc de la Villette - Very nice hotel. The car park was reassuringly difficult to get into, making it very secure. Comfortable beds and pleasant surroundings. An excessive amount of artex on the walls is the only criticism.
- dnexus (8/5): comfortable and quiet - I loved staying here. I was not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very quiet, despite being almost full, the location was ideal for my needs, it was a stone's throw from the Parc de la Villette, overlooking the canal. Staff were very attentive and helpful, I have nothing bad to say. And breakfast was pretty good too.
- Ronda (10/5): Great Little Hotel - I really liked this hotel. Yes, the rooms are small but that is expected in Paris. It is outside most of the touristy spots but very close to the metro and the front desk was great about helping us figure out our way around the city, even in English. We did try and attempt French but it was so weak that they had no problem speaking English to us except one older woman that was rude about it and would only speak French. But apart from that they were great. I would recommend it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not great at all... - Extremely small room and bathroom. Horrible view from the window. not the nicest of areas. Empty soap bottle. Some of the staff was not very friendly nor helpful
- Keefee (8/5): Great value hotel for a visit to Paris - Pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Good location and pleasant walk along the canal to the metro. Beds lovely and comfortable. room was extremely hot though at night as the weather had been very hot. Would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room. Would also have liked toast and being English a cooked breakfast would have made it superb. Couldn't fault the standard of the hotel for good value for money and I would stay here again and recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - Good location, good service, value for money... bathroom is a little small.
