The Room needs a few improvements, specially in the bathroom utensils/dispensaries that are not on line with the overall quality of the Room which was very good. The service crew is very helpful and always ready to assist you on any way. Cauan on the breakfast service really excelled and went above and beyond, always kind and attentive. Good service must be recognized and rewarded: if you come to the Davenport, I am sure you Will be well treated (especially by Cauan).
- yellowstoner (8/5): Great location near Trinity College - If you want to stay near Trinity College in a really nice hotel, you can’t beat the Davenport. It is in a relatively quiet neighborhood that is convenient for walking around Dublin with none of the Temple Bar shenanigans nearby. Our only complaint is that when we checked in the hot water had been out for at least two days (according to other guests, we met in the elevator) and no one advised us. We discovered it the next morning when we were ready to take showers. It was repaired by the time we came back around lunchtime. A word from the front desk upon check-in would have been appreciated so we could manage our expectations. Our room was very well designed. We liked the Foxford throw that was on our bed so much that we bought one before we left Dublin. I honestly considered looking for the manufacturer of the chairs in the room because they were super comfortable. Overall, I would stay here again.
- Jun (10/5): Luxurious Hotel in a Perfect Location - Luxurious hotel in a perfect location. It’s beautifully decorated. Our triple room was a really good size, loved the comfy chairs to sit to watch TV, the king size bed with comfy bedding and the pull out sofa was also really comfy. The bathroom was again a nice size and liked that there was this ledge to place all our toiletries The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. We loved the breakfast buffet especially the cappuccino. And they gave you as much water as you needed. The location was perfect. It was walking distance to most tourist experiences. Trinity college was a 5 minute walk.

- NYCSunshine42 (10/5): Luxurious Hotel with Great Staff - Wow! This is the only hotel to stay in Dublin. It’s a pretty hotel. The location is perfect. It’s 5 to 20 minute walk to all the sights. And it’s in a quiet area but walking distance to all the excitement. We arrived early and it was pouring rain so we decided to eat lunch at the hotel restaurant which was good. Then we were told our room was ready early which made my day. I’m traveling with my senior parents so I booked a triple suite. Most hotel rooms in Europe are quite small but this room was quite a good big size. The king bed was awesome, and there was a pullout couch, which was comfortable. And the breakfast was so good with tons of options. And I love the little touches like the to-go pastries and fruit cups and yogurt. They also had coffee to go. And I love that they a bowl of jellies as a little treat for guests in the lobby. Lastly, the staff were all so nice and helpful.

Great location in the city to be able to walk to all the sights within Dublin and easy access to transportation for the greater Ireland region. Our stay at The Davenport Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Dublin, was truly memorable. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Everyone we interacted with, from the front desk staff to the staff working in the restaurant were warm, courteous and accommodating. If you are planning a trip to Dublin and are looking for a hotel that is conveniently located, with warm and welcoming staff, and quiet and comfortable rooms, I highly recommend The Davenport Hotel!
- Coastal25923754374 (10/5): A Must Stay in the Heart of Dublin - This is a marvelous property! The location is great, convenient to all areas of Dublin; short walks to shopping, dinning, Trinity College and interesting locations. The rooms are spacious and lovely. I recommend getting a room away from the front of the hotel as the street noise can be a bit loud at times. We did and it was blissfully quiet. If ambient noise is not an issue for you then go for it - the views are gorgeous. The staff are warm and welcoming and always ready assist you with whatever you need.

- Niamh (4/5): Overpriced & overrated. - Location and the bed More 3 star - had to have shower fixed so cold water on morning 1, no face cloths, mediocre soap/shampoo/condition from a large dispensers (more premier Inn than Premier Quality). On booking we were told that Bask Thermal Spa would be open, it wasn’t and it wasn’t communicated ahead of our stay. Our room wasn’t made up when we were out Saturday afternoon and ai had to request fresh towels/ water for morning 2. Shower was fixed.

Every staff member was extremely welcoming and helpful to us, especially Caique at the front desk. The breakfast buffet was spectacular with a great variety and even more wonderful service. Special kudos to Evelyn and Eugenio for their fantastic service! The hotel was also surrounded by great restaurants and was within walking distance of a few tourist attractions. All in all, it was a great value and provided us with a wonderful stay!

The staff were incredibly friendly and genuinely did their best to accommodate us, though there were a few minor issues they weren’t able to resolve. For example, our TV and internet did not work for the duration of our stay. We contacted the front desk, but unfortunately they were unable to fix the problem, so we couldn’t watch TV at all. The beds were quite soft, so much so that one dipped in the middle, but after the mattress topper was removed, it became more comfortable. Overall, we would still highly recommend this hotel. It’s very clean, the staff are outstanding, and the location is ideal. nothing that is worth mentioning

- X (7/5): The view is a lie - The location of this hotel is incredibly good. It is worth staying at it only because of that. The room we got was also really large and having space is good. There was a lounge for our room that in itself was a bit sad but that had nice snacks and drinks (not water though, and you only get two water bottles once and that's it). The staff were very nice and helped much within their means. There are a few things to comment here: 1) We booked this hotel because the room had a "View", our view was a wall of brick. I do not know if other rooms had views, but certainly ours didn't. The view was a lie. 2) The bed was huge but they were actually two beds meshed together with a bump in the middle that was not super comfortable. 3) Our mattress in particular had a spot that could be clearly seen through the sheets and looked like dried blood. This is something that happens but maybe it could have been cleaned up or the mattress flipped or changed. 4) The breakfast looked good but it really wasn't super quality. There was almost no fruit, the viennoiseries were dry (the scones were ok!) and the only egg you could get was scrambled, not even a sad hard boiled egg in sight. 5) Having a late check-out, something that can be done elsewhere is a great complication here. They are nice and let you leave at 12 for free, but then you have to pay 40 euros to leave at 2pm. We would have paid 40 euros to stay until 4pm but that just did not work. 6) We lost one night due to a flight cancellation and when I called to let them know the person on the phone had 0 commiseration and just insisted it was non-refundable (we knew, we just wanted to make sure our room would still be there the next day) and there was still no commiseration of any kind (let alone anything to make up for the night and breakfast we didn't use) when we arrived.

- Renee (9/5): The Davenport was a wonderful way to end 2 weeks in Ireland before flying home! - After 2 weeks traveling around Ireland and staying in some lovely vacay rentals, it was nice to end our trip at a swanky property like The Davenport. We were greeted warmly by reception at check in and enjoyed the decor and design of the lobby and restaurants and bar. The room (we had an Executive King) was well designed for a couple to stay for 2 nights. The room had comfortable places to sit and sleep and I liked that the bathroom had a REAL DOOR (not glass or sliding, I hate those) and that the bathroom door was placed to open into the entryway and NOT into the bedroom to minimize light in the room when your partner is sleeping. The closets were roomy, although I don’t care for the "don't steal me" hangers that you have to unhook and rehook when you want to remove the hanger. If we were staying longer, I would have been a little annoyed by the small and smaller drawers but since it was only 2 nights, we were able to put away just what we needed for our short stay. The room is equipped with a coffee machine, a tea kettle, an assortment of tea and coffee, sugar and real milk in the fridge. Oh yeah, bonus, there's a mini fridge that is NOT a cash-grab "mini bar". Just a real, empty fridge with 2 cartons of water and the little milk single serves. And one of the biggest treats was having a real Dyson hair dryer with all the accessories. They also have plugs for US appliances, not just European. The Executive Lounge was a nice touch, but not sure if it was really worth it. We went to the Lounge when we first checked in and got a glass of wine and some crisps to put in the room, but when we were feeling a bit peckish at night after a long day of being tourists, we couldn't get into the Lounge as it closes early - 8PM. Our room included breakfast, which was served until 1030. It was decent, but buffet only so if you don't like hotel scrambled eggs (like me), then you will have to pick something else to eat. The drawers were so tiny! The Executive Lounge is not really worth the extra money. But other than that, great property!

There were pre heated metal trays of scrambled eggs, Irish pork sausage and bacon (which Irish bacon is more like salty ham to me, but still yummy!), black and white pudding, and an assortment of pastries, breads, yogurt, fruit, and cereals, so overall enough to get your day started. We ate at The Bar our first night and were surprised how few items were on the menu. It was okay food; we had better options by leaving the hotel. Would I return and stay again at The Davenport? I absolutely would, but I would skip the Executive King (the Lounge is not really worth it) for a regular King room and would not eat at The Bar (but would still enjoy daily breakfast.) We had easy and walkable access to Trinity College, St Stephens Green and the Temple Bar area. We even walked all the way to the Guinness Storehouse for our tour there. It was a long walk (45 minutes +) but we love walking in cities whenever we can. Overall, 5 star hotel and stay!

- Ann (10/5): A perfect place to stay in Dublin to celebrate a special occasion. - There room was lovely; the bed incredibly comfortable. There was a wonderful coffee/tea/snack set up in the room. The staff was warm and welcoming and checked on us once we had checked in. The location is perfect - so close to all the sites and a lovely neighborhood. We were celebrating the last night of our vacation and our wedding anniversary. I alerted them when I booked and we had a lovely treat in our room with a sweet note.
- C9792PDmikes (2/5): Very poor. Unhelpful staff - Unfriendly, unhelpful staff. We had a cold shower…our friends also, also only had cold shower available. Our plug in sink was stuck so we could not empty it. We reported to reception and they said they would send someone to fix it. When we got back from dinner sink still full of dirty water and oily hand prints now on our unused bath towel. When we left the next morning, sink still full. No apologies or offer of discount as we checked out. Would not stay there again.

The affiliated bar across the road wouldn't serve us and the barman was shouting at the gentleman who let us in. No manager in at any point of our stay.
- amygF340CB (10/5): 1000/10! - 10/10. We were up again this week for another maternity appointment close by and to say I was thrilled when we arrived is an understatement. We arrived & the lovely gentleman on reception (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name) gave us a warm welcome. Asked all about baby etc and really made it so personal - I was so surprised as I know we had stayed in their sister hotel two weeks ago (the Alex) but I really wasn’t expecting it! He mentioned they had left some extra pillows up in the room for me to assist with sleep & to make me comfortable (again, I was amazed!) When we landed up to the room I landed up to a lovely note from the team along with some sweet treats (cheesecakes etc!!) and also a lovely eye mask in a lovely box. The smile on my face was something else. Then I noticed the extra pillows they left up & noticed they had actually left up two “V Shaped” pillows - I’m sure any pregnant woman reading this will understand how thrilled I was by this attention to detail - it genuinely was such a lovely and thoughtful touch that I wasn’t expecting at all. Breakfast was 10/10 again. My only complaint/moan (not even a complaint!!!) was as that They weren’t serving eggs Benedict that following morning but it made absolutely zero odds as they have a huge buffet with loads on offer so we were well fed. These really are a beautiful chain of hotels & I’ve never had such a warm, lovely & personal experience as I have with both the Davenport & the Alex. (I only leave the Mont out as I’ve not actually slept there- but when we were in there briefly Before being moved to the Alex the staff were lovely and I can only imagine they are the same ) I would recommend these hotels to anybody & I wouldn’t be a person for leaving reviews on hotels etc - but these are so deserving. I would also like to let any couples that might be travelling from up/down the country to attend appointments in the national maternity hospital to pick one of these 3 sister hotels. They are a 5 min walk to the hospital and us ladies are well looked after! We are back up again in 4 weeks time for another appointment in Dublin (hopefully the last, no offence to anybody - just a long trek for us!) and I’m not sure if we will be booking in to the Davenport or to the Alex yet - it’s depending on which is available when I get looking but either way I will be thrilled to be back.
- 297jacquelineu (10/5): A superb hotel in a great location. - This is a superb hotel ideally located near the centre of Dublin. We stayed for a rugby international, and it was also conveniently situated to walk to the stadium. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff, before going to our room, which had been upgraded to a junior suite, which was excellent. We had great sleeps being at the back of the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to try the food, but the bar was nice and the menu seemed very reasonable for such a high quality hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again when we return to Dublin.
