• Carmen (8/5): Pequeño pero acogerdor - La ubicación es ideal cerca del Metropolitano y de Central Park. Las bocas del metro llevan directo a Times Square y las zonas turísticas como Rockefeller Plaza. Habitaciones pequeñas. Pero si solo vas para dormir es ideal por la ubicación. El aire caliente no llegó a funcionar bien del todo nunca, pero las mantas y edredones eran más que suficientes.

• Catherine (6/5): Good location, but major elevator problem - Loved that they accepted our therapy dog with no charge. The location was close to Lenox Hill Hospital which was our destination and the reason for this visit. Our room was on the 9th floor and the elevator did not work on two occasions when we needed it and we were there for only two nights. My husband had heart surgery, so this was a major issue for us. They have to get a reliable elevator!

• Lotta (9/5): Great location and calm, nice hotel - The Franklin is one of the very few hotels on the Upper East Side. It’s perfectly located for visiting museums, you can walk to the Met, Guggenheim, Neue Galerie and the Central Park. It’s a two minute walk to several metro lines. The rooms are small, but not worse than in Paris or London, but if you are two I would go for the larger room. The room was surprisingly practically arranged, with a rack for clothes, hooks etc. It was a bit chilly in the room in December and the floor was cold, but there’s air conditioning. They don’t serve breakfast, which is very common in NYC, but there are cafes nearby. The neighbourhood is nice and felt very safe to walk late at night. Best of all, the hotel was quiet, unlike most hotels in NYC, from what I’ve heard. I would definitely stay there again. The hotel was very expensive in the holiday season (Thanksgiving-Christmas), but this is the Upper East Side. It would have been nice to have a lamp by the bed and a small shelf.
• Deborah (9/5): Clean, beautiful, easy, welcoming - Absolutely EVERYTHING you need within half a mile. Zero noise from other guests or elevator. Extremely clean bathroom. If you reserve a room style with 2 doubles, you will need to place suitcases on the bed. Zero floor space.
• Amélie (9/5): Perfect location and comfort close by the MET - The Franklin is ideally located for museum goers. Close by, one finds all necessary amenities, a Whole Foods supermarket, a number of coffeeshops and delis, a Barnes & Nobles... The nearest metro station is a 2 mn walk; Central Park and the MET, a 5 mn walk. My room, though on the small side for its price (but this is New York City!) was very well organized for a single person. There is room enough for one suitcase + a bag. The heating system was adequate. I asked for a silent room and got one (at the back). It would need a chair in front of the desk, but there is a nice space next to the Lobby to sit down and work on a computer. Every single person at the reception was lovely. Thanks to all of them!
• Carol (7/5): The place was clean and aesthetically pleasing, but the overall size of the room & bathroom was too small - It was beautifully appointed in the vintage period style. The employees were super kind and helpful. The housekeeping was immaculate. It was too small in general- from the tiny front door with steps to enter, to the lobby, to the room and bathroom size. The bathroom was so small that it was cramped & uncomfortable. The sink and bathtub were miniature in every way, and it was hard to lay our items on the small shelves provided.
• Gilda (9/5): Would consider staying there again if I return to NYC - Location, room was modern, clean and fresh, bed was large and comfortable, TV was top notch, staff were friendly and helpful. Location was perfect in safe quiet neighborhood, short walk to central park and the MET. Room and bathroom were small (standard for NYC) yet functional. No breakfast although they did supply tasty chocolate cookies and there cafes/restaurants within a short walking distance for breakfast.

Si vas solo todavía pero dos personas….para mí no sirve. El aire acondicionado tampoco me gustó porque respondía mal y estaba mal ubicado. .No conseguí tener una temperatura confortable.

• Nicole (10/5): Fabulous day with friendly staff and I will be coming back - I was visiting my daughter who lives very nearby in upper Eastside and the location is fabulous. The king-size rooms are a decent size but all the other rooms are very small even for a solo traveller. However, I was very comfortable and the staff are fabulous and very friendly and become your friends. This is my second visit. Some of the rooms can be a little small with no wardrobe space and no easy chair to sit down
• Backlund (5/5): Too tiny for two people. Useless for any kind of work during the stay. - Location was great if you need to be in Upper East. Close to subway, food, Central Park, groceries etc. I know NYC is famous for small hotel rooms but this room was too tiny. Two people can't move around at the same time. Can't use the desk except if sitting on the bed. Bathroom sink irritatingly small when shaving or whatever. And what's with the ridiculously bad quality bathroom tissue? Charging that much for a night, bring top-notch tissue please. Perhaps OK for a single night but forget to get anything workwise done in this tiny little room.

• Nathalie (10/5): A great stay for a fun weekend in NYC visiting friends and family - The staff at The Franklin were very friendly and helpful with transportation and restaurant recommendations. The bed was comfortable and the shower strength was good. I felt very safe on the first floor with hall and room security. The window in my first floor room had to stay covered because it looked into the dining space, not outdoors, so next time I will ask for a room on a higher floor.

• Verified traveler (4/5): A night at the franklin - Staff was a lady at the desk and she was very nice and carried an ice bucket for me to my room. The AC wasn’t working properly - and the system to change the AC is very complicated - the room was teeny tiny as was bathroom. It was all okay but more like a holiday inn than a hotel. I had very noisy neighbors throughout the night and was woken up numerous times-I wouldn’t choose that hotel again.

Plus there was a nespresso machine and complimentary bottled water so convenient for an early cup of coffee. I would definitely stay here again. Note that there are at least 4 steps to enter lobby.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - We arrived at the hotel at 3:30pm ( 30 minutes past check-in). Our room was not ready and they couldn’t tell us when it would be… we were there to attend a shiva service so were forced to get ready in a public bathroom and leave our luggage in another families accommodations. We were told we would be called when the room was ready but did not receive a call. We had to go back to the front desk to find out our when we could get into the room ( past the time of our service). We were not able to get into our room till the evening when we arrived back only to find out that they had overbooked many rooms during our day. The rooms are extremely small and the AC stopped working in the middle of the night. Will not book again in the future.

• Douglas (10/5): - This is a small hotel with great staff and excellent location. Rooms are very small so if you're someone who likes to spend a lot of time in your room, this is probably not for you if you're more than 1 person. But we were out and about most of the time so it was perfect for us. Two suggestions: the outdoor patio needs attention in order for guests to use and it would be helpful if the room with multiple tables could be opened before 9am since the available tables around the coffee area filled up quickly. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.
