Huge turn off to stay there again. I checked in 11pm and asked til 12! Left a bad impression. Staff was not super warm but more like our policy too damn bad you checked in 11pm.

Would definitely stay here again! - The rooftop patio and pool were lovely areas to enjoy breakfast, lunch, drinks, etc. -- and the food was delicious! Really enjoyed the cool vibe of the hotel (decor, guests, etc.) and the room was spacious. The poolside staff service could have been better. Wait staff could have checked in more frequently to capture food and drink orders.

The rooms and reception staff were a little underwhelming. - The roof terrace and food were both excellent, the waiting staff upstairs were very nice. The reception staff were a little unfriendly, I was there for two weeks and not once did any of them acknowledge me. There was a three hour power cut and no one came to check if I needed anything or reach out to offer advice.
• Sherpa50432925324 (10/5): Another Beautiful Stay at Petit Ermitage - I've had the pleasure of staying at Petit Ermitage several times now, and I am constantly drawn back to the hotel as it never ceases to amaze. The reception staff warmly welcomed me, as did the tastefully decorated lobby and hotel. Upon getting to the room, it was quite clean and a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, the allure of a fireplace added to the atomosphere, and the bathroom was also clean. Don't get me started on the rooftop! It is GORGEOUS! I found myself taking calls by day on the roof, and sipping a cocktail by night by the pool. I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay at the Petit Ermitage.

• Katelyn (9/5): This was the perfect spot for a week long Halloween holiday, the vibe was very much Soho House meets American horror sto - Loved the location and the sense of whimsy you feel staying here.. the rooftop was my favorite late night escape for a night cap by the fire. The rooms were a little outdated and the hotel could use some upgrades. The addition of a spa would really make this place the perfect West Hollywood sanctuary for a little debauchery and relaxation.

Reception told me I only had a room when I booked 2. Then at 9.30 pm when we were all sleeping they called to say I had a second bedroom. I need my refund on that. This place is expensive for what it is. Not for families. Pool is too less after 12.

• sbsdoc (2/5): Disgusting plumbing experience - My girlfriend and I stayed in a suite for two nights and the room was great. Between 6:00 and 7:00 am our first morning, the toilet kept us awake with very loud gurgling sounds. Around 9:00 am, my girlfriend sat on the toilet in the dark, without realizing that water and feces erupted onto the toilet seat and surrounding floor. We spoke with the general manager, Maria, who did not seem too concerned that my girlfriend sat in feces. Maria offered a food and beverage comp and was not willing to do anything more, insisting that since we booked the rooms on Expedia, this was all they could do. It’s hard to imagine a more disgusting hotel experience. We were very disappointed about the way in which the general manager treated this situation as if it was a minor inconvenience rather than a significant health hazard.

• Wanderer43811613710 (10/5): Artsy, edgy vibe; awesome rooftop - Stayed at Petit Hermitage with a few friends on a trip to LA. The vibe was incredible. Cool without trying too hard, has this eclectic, artsy feel. The rooftop was definitely the highlight. The pool area especially was a great place to spend an afternoon. Staff were friendly and low-key, not overly formal but always helpful.

From extraordinarily kind and welcoming staff to wonderful amenities (fantastic water pressure in the showers!!!!) and a convenient location, this was my favorite hotel in LA that I've stayed in so far. The rooftop pool and bar is a wonderful addition, allowing for lots of rest in WeHo if Santa Monica is too far a journey. I found everything I needed at the Petit Ermitage and cannot wait to come back on my next trip to LA.
• rachelhU3122WG (2/5): Unhinged Hotel Staff - I’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it, which makes this experience even more disappointing. On this stay, there was intense bass noise from an undisclosed basement club that went on until nearly 4:30–5am, followed by loud hallway disturbances involving individuals who were later confirmed by security to not be hotel guests. Despite multiple calls, the issue was not handled in a timely or effective way, and I did not get meaningful sleep. The following day, I was told a room change would be arranged, but no update was provided well into the afternoon. When I contacted Expedia to explore options, a front desk staff member escalated the situation by repeatedly calling my room and then opening my door without permission to confront me over billing. There was no emergency, no notice, and the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. Another staff member was brought to my doorway, which made the situation feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I ultimately left the hotel early because of how the situation was handled. While some nights were refunded, the staff conduct and lack of de-escalation were deeply unprofessional. The hotel may look charming online, but when issues arise, guest comfort and safety are clearly not the priority. I would not stay here again.

Ci hanno fatto pagare 100$ di upgrade perché dopo le 16 (ns. arrivo) la ns. camera non era ancora pronta e allora ci hanno assegnato una camera migliore ma pagando un extra...di solito gli hotel in caso di loro errore assegnano gratuitamente gli upgrade.

• simonafE8707OK (2/5): Disturbing Theft and Manager Cover-Up – Guests Beware - I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but what happened at this hotel absolutely must be documented for the safety of future guests. During my stay, a patron stole $800 from my daughter’s purse. What followed was even more shocking than the theft itself. The manager on duty, Joe, admitted it was his last day and was overheard saying he would delete the surveillance footage because the woman who appeared to have taken the money was someone he knew. Instead of acting professionally or taking even basic responsibility, he downplayed the entire incident and offered zero assistance. The level of disregard was so alarming that we had no choice but to involve the police. A hotel should be a secure environment where guests are protected. This property failed on every level. The combination of theft, attempted cover-up, and complete lack of accountability from management is unacceptable. Until there is a serious overhaul of their security and leadership, guests are putting themselves at risk by staying here. If you value safety, honesty, and basic integrity, stay elsewhere.

I went with friends and family where we booked several rooms so I got to see how much love and attention the curators put into the space. The vibe is on point - from the rooftop pool / restaurant / music lounge to the large rooms with living rooms and kitchens. It felt like home away from home with dope art everywhere. It's a members club as well and we met some of the coolest people in LA (I've been coming to LA for 28 years) I'm looking forward to exploring their other property, Elsewhere, in Topanga. If boutique hotels are your thing you are going to love Petite.

Checked in, within 5 minutes and was enjoying immediately. The staff on the rooftop were friendly and made excellent suggestions. The food was awesome. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had!!! The rooftop pool was heated and perfect. The live entertainment was unique and sexy!! My room was classy and comfortable. Loved the water pressure of the shower. All the details were accounted for, including, the best artwork of any hotel I’ve ever stayed!!!

• ElvisNYC (4/5): The design is Beverly Hill Bordello and the place is super outdated - Good location just btw W Hollywood and Beverly Hills but otherwise this is the place that taste and time forgot. My partner and I nicknamed it Beverly Hills Bordello. Every surface is covered with adornment busier and uglier than the next. Our room had three paint colors on the walls: two were rust and mustard yellow, and a fake “shabby chic” turquoise trim. It also had smudged walls and stained ceilings. The elevator is covered in wood and feels like entering a stinky, stale sauna. The hotel entrance is chipped paint railings and stairs—a paean to deferred maintenance. The check in person didn’t say welcome or hello just barked “credit card and ID.” The rooftop is ok for breakfast but the pool area is jam packed with“influencers” and “models” making kissy faces into their camera phones and the scary looking men who want to screw them —many of them smoking. We took a long look around when we left because we are never coming back.

Petit is a special creative haven for both locals and visitors, and everything about the space feels intentional and inspiring, which makes it the perfect place for us to host our events. Troy deserves a huge thank you for pulling everything together. He is always incredibly helpful and professional, but also just really easy to work with. He is a creative problem solver who anticipated needs we hadn't even thought of and always had a solution ready. His attention to detail and proactive approach made what could have been a stressful process feel effortless. The rest of the staff was just as wonderful. Everyone was accommodating, friendly, and genuinely seemed happy to help us succeed. If you're looking for a hotel to stay at or host your next event that combines creativity with exceptional service, we can't recommend Petit Ermitage enough. And if you have the chance to work with Troy, you're in incredible hands.
• LDNSTEAKH (8/5): Almost Wonderful, Occasionally Unbreathable, Totally Crazy - One arrives at Petit Ermitage hoping for louche indulgence, candlelight charm, and that particular West Hollywood brand of nonchalant glamour — the kind of place where Peter Sellers might have mislaid his trousers and no one would have thought it remarkable. Alas, what we found was an establishment oscillating somewhere between inspired eccentricity and organised chaos. The front desk team were a roll of the dice — some quite delightful, others seemingly suffering from a rare allergy to engagement. Our first room, charming in theory, was in practice a biohazard. My wife’s asthma was instantly stirred by the unholy alliance of ancient carpets, heavy drapery and what I can only assume was a century of dander and dreams. We fled after one night. The second room was almost habitable, provided the windows remained open and one avoided the sofa, which appeared to have lived a more eventful life than most Hollywood agents. Now — credit where it’s due. The rooftop pool was an absolute triumph. Mad, glittering characters swirled about like extras from a lost Fellini reel, and the cocktails were worthy companions to the spectacle. The gym, though excellent, required reservations, which lent the curious air of booking an audience with one’s own dumbbells. Housekeeping were lovely, albeit operating on Hollywood time — by which I mean “whenever inspiration strikes.” The concierge at the fringe door was a genuine delight, a calm figure amid the fragrant storm. Food and drinks upstairs: splendid. Properly done, served with a smile that hinted at insider knowledge. But, dear reader, the cracks showed. There was, as others have noted, no discernible adult in charge. During our stay we were treated to the most extraordinarily candid staff conversations about management woes, operational oddities and general gossip — all delivered within guest earshot, as if part of the entertainment. When we were forced to move rooms, management neither assisted nor acknowledged the inconvenience. Had it been our hotel, we would have moved the luggage for the guest — and sent up a bottle of something agreeable as a peace offering. Here, we were met with polite silence. I should add that the hotel’s Tripadvisor responses — all silky wit and promise — was among the reasons we booked in the first place, forsaking our usual haunt at the Sunset Tower. One fears those very missives will now be repurposed to bid us a fond and final farewell! And yet… what a curious, unforgettable fortnight. Wildly imperfect, occasionally maddening, but never dull. The Petit Ermitage remains a place one wants desperately to love — a near miss, dressed in velvet and patchouli. So close, but still so far. What a shame — but not, I must admit, an unhilarious two weeks.
• ilikegoats (6/5): Check in leaves a lot to be desired.... - After traveling over 20 hours from Buenos Aires, we arrived at the hotel at 1:15 p.m.—exhausted, hopeful, and ready for even a small dose of wonderfully bohemian hospitality. It was not our first stay, and our previous experience had been very pleasant. Unfortunately, what we received from the front desk was more performance art in indifference than any semblance of service, let alone going above and beyond. At the front desk, Gabriella informed us our room wasn’t ready. Fair enough. I politely asked if we could be accommodated as soon as one became available. Her unconvincing reply: “I will see what we can do, but Check-in is at 4 p.m.” I assured her I knew the policy but was asking, as most hotels would understand, for a bit of compassion and initiative. I thought that in an hour or so a room would almost certainly be available, and she said she’d text us as soon as room was ready. She didn’t. We went to the pool, had lunch, and by 3:00 p.m., still nothing. I went back down to check—only to be met with the same rebuff, delivered with the same deadpan precision: “I am sorry, nothing is available yet. Check-in is at 4 p.m.” She had a thing about 4pm. Given that check-out is at 11 a.m., and the hotel charges a dollar a minute if you are late, the notion that no room was ready four hours later strains credulity. I explained again we’d been traveling for 24 hours and would really appreciate a shower and a change of clothes. No dice. It suddenly dawned on me that Gabriella had for some reason decided that, come hell or high water, she was not going to let us check in until 4:00 PM. This was a hill she was prepared to die on. Then came the pièce de résistance: 4:00 p.m. came and went—no text, no call. And when I went back down at 4:05, no Gabriella! I discovered she’d actually left at 3:30; apparently her shift expired at about the same time as my patience - so she knew full well she would not even have to face my full dissatisfaction. She literally didn’t give a damn. A charming gentleman at the desk got us checked in immediately and noted that Gabriella was supposed to have called us. The contrast could not have been starker. In that moment, Petit Ermitage lived up to its online reputation: most of the staff are five kinds of fabulous, others seem to be conducting a psychological experiment on how far guests can be pushed before they snap. Incidentally, I was with one of the housekeeping staff in the elevator - she was the sweetest lady. If Gabriella had called her and said “how fast can you get a room ready for a guest who has been traveling for 24 hours?” I absolutely know she would have bent over backwards to get me into a room in well under an hour. Gabriella had turned what could have been an easy win for her and the hotel, into a guest who will never return. To add to the absurdity, I was told there was no manager on duty, and no general manager at any time - only a reservations manager. That might explain why there’s no adult supervision. If there is a hotel policy that says no guest may be checked in until 4pm, it is an utterly misguided one. I noticed that at that time, several guests who had also been waiting by the pool to check in all descended on reception simultaneously, and the nice man quickly became overloaded, as was the porter, and the phone was ringing off the hook unanswered, and people were waiting, and it took a further 40 minutes to get my luggage delivered to the room (eventually done not by the porter, but by the nice man on the front desk!!). All of this overloaded chaos was entirely avoidable. If guests were checked in as rooms became available, the guests would be happy, the staff would not be stressed, and the hotel’s reputation would be intact. A much better system for all concerned. A hotel that trades on “bohemian charm” might want to take a look at replacing staff who consider passive aggression and inflexibility a commendable skillset.

If you are staying on a weekend and want to use the roof top pool, contact them in advance and book a pool side bed as it got VERY busy Saturday afternoon. Located right in between Santa Monica Blvd and Sunset Strip we found the location to be excellent for getting around. Great stay and would stay again!

I came with my wife and her parents expecting the usual quality experience, but instead encountered a nightmare scenario. The hotel has apparently become a destination for post-Burning Man crowds, turning the entire property into a chaotic party scene. The pool area was overrun with loud, vulgar, drug-addicted guests who made it completely unusable for families. Music blasted until 6:30 AM, making sleep impossible. Service was abysmal - waited over an hour on the rooftop just to place a food order, only to be told the waitress was too backed up to help us. Tonight we waited 15 minutes for elevator access at midnight because of their rooftop concert, while the party crowd got priority treatment over paying hotel guests. The worst part? None of this was disclosed during booking. We're paying customers who were treated like unwanted partygoers rather than hotel guests. Had we known about these conditions, we absolutely would have booked elsewhere. After years of loyalty to this property, I will never return. The management has clearly decided to prioritize event revenue over guest experience. Save your money and book somewhere that actually cares about providing basic hospitality. • TripMember01072020 (6/5): WARNING - all may not be what it seems. - We booked this hotel through a travel agent, and while the property is very clean and the staff are genuinely friendly and professional, we were quite surprised by the overall atmosphere and policies, which were not highlighted to us in advance. This review is intended to give future guests a clearer picture so they can decide if it’s the right fit. Positive points: – Public areas are spotless and well maintained. – Staff were courteous, helpful, and welcoming. – Rooms were modern and comfortable. Points future guests should know before booking: – In our room we found a “Lovers Kit,” which included adult items. This was unexpected, and no context was provided at check-in. – There was also a door hanger with adult-themed wording. The meaning may have been innocent, but again, it was not explained, and we felt uncomfortable not knowing its intended use. – A $1,000 security deposit was required at check-in. We had not been informed of this beforehand, and it struck us as unusually high compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at. – The swimming pool was only open to children under 18 until noon each day. After that, the pool became adults-only and clothing-optional. While this may suit certain guests, families should be aware of this restriction before booking. – At check-in we were told that only two registered guests are allowed per room. We checked in late on a Friday and from the time we valeted until the next morning was littered with unacceptable service from a hotel, especially when charging $1600 a night. We decided to leave after one night there. We were told from the staff that our patio light had to be left on bright to keep away the rats and possums. We had guests playing loud music until 5 am. • Camille (7/5): Amazing!!!! Would love to visit again in the near future! - The resort roof access was exceptional and the food was absolutely delicious! The cleaning crew staff entered my room without knocking and attempted to charge me $200 for towels and two pillow cases I documented my stay and how I left the room. While there was dirt on white towels and evidence of me sleeping in the bed under no circumstances did I damage towels which are white as a standard by hotels which are power washed with bleach to return dirty towels back to their original white color. I believe the hotel cleaning staff attempted to falsely report damage to the bath towels based on the fact that I asked the cleaning manager to speak to his staff about entering rooms without knocking or announcing themselves. This was unfortunate and unacceptable for them to do when I explained that other than that they did a great job it’s just they must know to knock or announce themselves before entering as that brings about unnecessary liability for the hotel. The manager agreed and the girls on staff must have gotten angered about it instead of learning a valuable lesson in valuing and protecting their hotel patrons. The rest of the management staff was wonderful to work with and they quickly removed the unjustified charge to which I am very grateful! Wonderful establishment and very fair to all patrons regardless of race, age, gender etc - Wonderful experience overall.
