• Andrew (9/5): Lovely room in a great location. - The location is superb. Right in the heart of the old town. Great bars and restaurants on the doorstep. The hotel is a quiet respite from the manic bustle of the chaotic streets below. The staff are superb and friendly, giving great advice on the city and arranged our airport transfer. Great comms prior to our arrival giving detailed instructions on how to get to the hotel. Bus station, train station & ferry terminal all within walking distance. The tv in the room didn’t work but didn’t really matter to us.
• Jeremy (10/5): - I really enjoyed this place as the last stop on my trip through Italy. The room was very sharp looking and came with many extras that made my relaxing evening that more enjoyable. The tub was great to soak in while enjoying a bottle of wine and the room came with an ice machine to help chill your beverages. The rooftop was amazing with a great view to relax in the evenings and is available to use 24/7 so you can get up early to watch the sun rise as well. The rooftop hot tub was not functional yet I never realized there was one until I was up there so it didn’t matter to me. Tons of cafes, restaurants, and shops in the area to enjoy. Staff were welcoming and friendly. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Naples.

• Gretchen (8/5): - The room was nice inside but there was no staff on premises when we arrived around 3:30pm. We were sent a code to get into the hotel. Hotel was on 4th floor with note the elevator required. .50 coins to operate but was free on Sunday which is when we arrived. The building is in the historic district with original Roman era cobblestone streets. A lot of graffiti on all walls takes away the historic value as well as potential beauty of the area. We were there only one night. Communication with staff was by text via WhatsApp and were helpful arranging a taxi for early departure to airport. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
• Alex (10/5): - The hotel is centrally located in the old town. Very easy access to restaurants and cafes. Hotel is situated right in the middle of street market district - there are hundreds of shops selling naples touristy items all around. Very busy area! Naples is generally quite dirty and looks quite intimidating when you first arrive but it is safe as long as you follow guidelines to not get pickpocketed in a crowd. We walked around day and night with no problems. Hotel is in a secured courtyard off the main shopping street. Taxi will drop you a couple minutes walk away ( no cars allowed in that street) Once inside the hotel is really clean and new and quiet! The rooftop terrace is nice to have a look out over Naples. Staff are extremely helpful and constantly trying to please. Bed very confortable! We loved our stay here.

• Robert (8/5): - An interesting, quirky boutique in an interesting area. However, the strange pay elevator and grimy courtyard approach were unsettling. Parking arrangements were expensive, and located a couple of blocks away through terrifyingly narrow alleys. Not for the faint of heart, and best suited to someone who wants an edgy urban experience in that particular neighbourhood of Naples.
• Audrey (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, The 4 hotel rooms that they have are upstairs in an apartment building in "old town" Naples that can only be accessed by a 2 person elevator from an interior garage that costs coins to use.
• Michael (6/5): - This “hotel” was actually just the 4th floor in a mixed use building. They had one, shared, old, small, hot, exterior elevator. Horrible elevator process! They did make it clear they would not have a 24/7 doorman. and I thought it would be fine, but I missed having someone there when we had difficulty entering the main door after 6pm when no one is on duty. The stay felt more like an Airbnb. All locks were a real pain and our main door lock needs to be replaced. The area around the hotel was fine during the day, uncomfortable at night, that could just be Naples as a whole though. They did not offer bottled water or a bottle fill. If you want water, you have to bring it or you have to use the sink. The room was as pictured with modern renovations. But the AC was not good. It ran for 8 hours at coldest/max capacity and I still could not sleep with a sheet on. It wasn’t even that hot of a day. Also the shower doors had a one inch gap I between them, water everywhere. Overall would not stay here again or recommend it. Thankfully it was one night.

It is in a beautiful historical area of Napoli and also has lots of shops restaurants autistic things you could imagine and also the taxis are very close by. Yes the elevator you have to pay sometimes $.50 of euro, but they give you the money at the front desk so far will be using this hotel again because they treat us really well especially in Mateo and Martina. Thank you again for a great experience in Napoli.

• Zuleyka (6/5): - I was disappointed by this property. I understand it’s not a hotel, but it’s advertised under the luxury hotels guides and there’s no luxury in this place. The shower in our 3 people room was terrible, water will come out because the doors didn’t connect, and we had a pool every time we took a bath. We asked for a mop to keep the floor dry and were told to use towels from a closet by the room. The toilet to seat was broken, it kept coming out. We ran out of toilet paper and had no one to ask for; had to buy. There’s no one at the reception at no time, all the communication is by WhatsApp. The wall decoration on the wall behind the bathroom was coming off. The hair dryer is uncomfortable to use. The only good thing is the location, it’s walkable to all the main attractions.
• Holly (10/5): - The perfect property right in the center of the old town. Tucked away off the main street with its own entrance and courtyard. There is a lift up to the property which requires 50 cent euro coin which is provided by the hotel. Rooms have ac and are very comfortable and quite modern. The staff were super helpful with recommendation's and any questions along the way. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

The shower was gross and the water flew out of the partially permanently open doors, we had to use our towels to carb everything. It looked dirty :( the room walls were paper thin and the area wasn’t the best. Graffiti everywhere! And the building looks pretty run down. Certainly not what was expected coming into Italy for the first time.

• JAGDISH (8/5): Nice but with a few issues - Decent hotel for a quick layover. It is very hard to find and even the neighbors. I've never heard of it. So you need to be able to call the hotel when you get there. People need to be aware that if you arrive late, for example 11:00 p.m. they do charge you a €20 fee. This should be explained at time of booking not afterwards and when you are making arrangements to check in. The lift to the hotel is also a bit of an issue. We have to check out early and we're panicking as a front door was closed and we had no way of getting out. Luckily we were able to get back to the lobby and retain our keys and open the front door again.
• Brenda (10/5): Convenient location and clean room - Hotel room was clean and modern. Housekeeping every day. Neighborhood was kind of sketchy but over the four days we were there found it to be safe and the people kind. Lots of close by restaurants and the taxi stand is steps away. I’m a lone female traveller with a young child so safety is my number one concern.
• David (4/5): - Housekeepers left food in our fridge from a former guest. Ice machine and coffee maker had dirty water in them from god knows when. Didn't clean our room one day for some reason, and one of the front desk staff was pretty rude when we asked about it. Shower system was completely clogged with calcium causing it to spray everywhere. You have to take a tiny elevator to reach the hotel which inexplicably costs .50 Euro — the hotel will provide this but it's just odd and inconvenient. Location is great but that's about it, wouldn't recommend to a friend.

• Chanise (2/5): - This area is absolutely disgusting. The reviews CANNOT be real. The pictures are deceiving. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. We stayed It’s basically in a run down apartment building. The “hotel” has a few rooms on the 4th floor of the building but it is sketchy as hell when you enter the building. Then you have to take a right elevator to the 4th floor that can only hold 2 people. The elevator is slower than a snail. Takes forever to get to the top. Once you enter the “hotel” the reception is just a desk. The rooms are basically like apartment doors. You just walk two feet to your room. When we got inside the room, I was underwhelmed. The room is spacious - big bed. Marble floors but dirty and we couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. Look at my pictures for what I’m referring to. Hair around handle to shower. Dirty toilet. Dirty sofa. Worn and dirty rags and towels. Like this place is a motel/hostel. Cracked windows in building. If it weren’t for all my luggage, I would have left immediately. I’m only here to rest my head, really. You need actual lock keys to enter the “building” and access the gate that leads to the building. Then there is no reception after 9 - if you arrive after 9 for check in, there is an additional fee. Also, the airport is not 6 mins away as advertised on Expedia. It’s 25 minutes and if you need a van, it will cost you almost $80 The morning we left at 5am and couldn’t operate the elevator to leave and there was no one to help us

The graffiti is so thick and pervasive rhat its hard to see anything else. This city has a very long way to go to catch up with the rest of the country. It feels like Tijuana in the 60s. Barely 3rd world. Why is Naples so different from the rest of the country?

Lovely rooftop where we sat one afternoon pity that the hot tub was not available as it would have been ideal, after all the walking. Hotel is close to plenty of restaurant and bars. There were 5 adults and we all loved the area and hotel. We would definately come back and recommend to our friends. Only negative is with both our bookings we shoild have had a bottle of proseco. When we asked about the mini bar the member of staff said everything was extra. At the time we forgot about the proseco until we got home.

• Anthony (10/5): - Naples is an interesting city, it doesn’t look the most welcoming. It has constant movement, where you’ll be dodging mopeds and has graffiti everywhere. However Relais San Severo was conveniently placed next to a main shopping street while also being tucked away enough so you don’t hear the movement and feel safe. It was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. If I ever come to Naples again, I will be a repeat customer.

The walls of the room are paper thin and there was a gap in the shower door so all the water spurted out 😬 but it wasn’t enough to mark down the Hotel.
• Richard (10/5): Excellent hotel in the heart of the city. - The hotel is situated right in the heart of the historical centre, stepping out of the door to so many excellent places to eat and attraction's. The atmosphere outside the hotel was amazing and a real experience. Inside the hotel was modern and clean. Above all our room was tucked away overlooking a beautiful garden and very tranquil. Hard to believe your in the middle of everything. Our hosts answered all our questions and were very helpful. Guaranteed a peaceful night sleep. When I return to Naples I will definitely stay here again.

• Scott (10/5): - When we first got dropped off by the taxi we were quite worried because of how busy it was in the area. We found the address and went up the elevator to an incredible suite with a balcony overlooking a beautiful garden. It also had a rooftop balcony with a view of Mt Vesuvius and the ocean. Matteo was great and provided us with a map and showed where the attractions are. He gave us a number to call anytime if we needed anything including transportation. We highly recommend anyone travelling to Naples to stay at Relais San Severo. You’ll love it! Scott and Sarah!
• Clinton (4/5): Small, basic BnB; poor, unreliable service - Note this is a very small property on the 4th floor of an apartment building that appears to only be staffed during business hours. The room was nice enough and clean. Location great right in the old city. There is a nice terrace overlooking the city. I think for the price you should consider a normal hotel. Don't expect any service. We had a problem with a 4:20AM taxi reservation to go to airport. Agreement was the taxi would be there at 4:20 and we'd get a text. We were in the street waiting at 4:15. No taxi. No text until 4:38 and the taxi did not show up until 4:50. Driver said he had been told 5:00AM. The hotel staff had blasé, defensive attitude about the mix up: first said we were not in the street waiting for the taxi (we were). Then said we should have called them (we did, they did not answer until 15 minutes later). Never apologized. Again, for the price, I recommend you choose a professional establishment.

The terrace was lovely, and housekeeping requests were handled promptly and efficiently. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of storage. Our shower was nice, but the positioning of the shower head at the doors would cause flooding into the bathroom. Due to exceptional service and well appointed rooms, we would recommend this hidden gem.

• Stephen John (10/5): - We had a lovely stay at Max’s little hotel. All is very clean, safe and secure, and the beds are comfortable. The view from the roof terrace is amazing. Highly recommended.

• U6319UOvictorb (10/5): It’s a great hotel right in the heart of a very busy tourist area. Tons of restaurants and bars right in front of you! - This is a very nice hotel very close to a busy square/main monument. The area is bustling with people and many many restaurants and bars. The unpretentious front door (you could easily walk right by it) opens to an urban courtyard and then the elevator takes you to the 4th floor and then it’s opens to a nice reception area. It feels a bit sketchy right up until you get to the reception area - but it’s all very safe. I don’t know how you would park a car here as we came by taxi from the airport. Staff is very nice/helpful. VictorB

• Natasha (10/5): - We stayed one night in Naples before our flight out. The area is very inner city urban feeling. The service was amazing, room was clean and there are restaurants and bars all around. It’s an interesting location within the building but our stay was great! Get the pizza across the street!

• Jay (10/5): - This hotel is located on the 4th floor of an older building in a very busy, noisy neighborhood. Nevertheless, it is convenient and there are numerous restaurants nearby. The lobby, rooms and bathrooms are quite nice and at a 5 star level. But the building is old, the elevator is old and tiny. The highlight is the rooftop terrace which was terrific!

• Deborah (10/5): - This hotel was wonderful. The room was exquisite. Not only the furnishings and materials such as marble floors, marble walled shower beyond beautiful the host (max) was the friendliest, kindest hotel manager ever. He made us feel right at home. The neighborhood is a busy street with cafes, vendors but once on the fourth floor of our room we could not hear anything. The rooftop deck was icing in the cake. Bellissimo!
• Juliane (10/5): - The staff at the property was excellent. He allowed us to check in early, went above and beyond with recommendations and travel tips! The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower had good pressure. The property was in a good central location that we were able to walk everywhere across 2 days. I would recommend this property!
• Rosie (10/5): - This was fantastically located and so very comfortable for the time we were there. Max is a fantastic asset and so welcoming and helpful the entire time. We would definitely go back.

• micheleijeffreym (10/5): Little gem in the heart of the city - We only had a one night stay in Naples and needed to find a hotel in the old town area. We found this hotel was not dissapointed. The area is very busy and pretty crazy, but this hotel was tucked in this compound. At first we couldn’t find it right away but just asked locals and they directed us to the rught direction which is on the top floor of the compound. You have to use a very small/ slow elevator to get to the top, so just be mindful about that. When we got to the reception desk, the staff was amazing. He was very welcoming and showed us everything we needed. Our room was very clean and very modern compared to what it all looks like from the outside. There’s also a rooftop area with a great view of Naples! Overall, it was a great hotel for the area that we were staying at. It was convenient and clean.

• Jason (10/5): - We absolutely loved this property and would stay here again! It was in the best location and in the center of everything, but very quiet and peaceful. The staff were extremely welcoming and provided us with many recommendations! The property was very clean and the air conditioning worked wonderfully, which is a great thing to have in July.

• Lucy (10/5): A charming hotel in the historical centre of Naples. Max was a very kind and lovely host. - Comfortable bed. Clean, coffee machine, fridge, air conditioning, balcony. It was all lovely and I would not hesitate to stay there again.
• MicheleiJeffrey (10/5): - Upon arrival we were greeted by our hosted cheerfully and explained everything we needed to know. The property itself is very clean and modern for being in an older building and had an upstairs patio to enjoy the view of Naples. We were only there for one night but we enjoyed our short stay because even though it is conveniently located in the main area with all the noise from the outside.. the inside of the hotel was very quiet. Overall, would recommend this hotel if you are staying in that area!
