Guest Reviews
- gabriela (8/5): - perfecta ubicacion, solo que no se hizo la limpieza de la habitacion y el c
- Linda (2/5): Left early and would never book this place again - The pictures om the website are far from the truth and we were deeply disappointed with this accomodation.
The toilets are horrible. The toilet seat are moving around when you sit down. There is water all over the floor after someone shower. The doors get stuck to the wooden floor because it's so uneven. To close the door you basically have to wake the whole apartement complex because they are so stiff. Or surrender to going to the toilet with the door open.
The keys to the locks on the doors are a joke - you can open the doors with basically anything. The air condition does not work.
The cleaning staff is very friendly and although the accomodation was terrible they tried their best to clean the place. But that is the only good thing about this place.
- Riti (10/5): - Easy to get to and a 10 minute walk from the train station. Helps a lot when you have luggage.
- Regan (2/5): Avoid if you want clean bedsheets - There were many issues which impacted our stay. The bedsheets were dirty, the toilet seat was broken, the shower was broken, when you had a shower the water would overflow and leave the entire bathroom covered in water which made me and my partner just had 1 shower each the entire trip as it was a shared bathroom and we were worried about leaving the bathroom wet. There were bugs in the room and both me and my partner ended the trip with a load of bites. There was a bit of noise from the restaurant downstairs and throughout the accommodation which was expected but still an issue. We believe the necessary standards haven’t been met. Our bedsheets were changed and they were still dirty. The location was the only good thing about this place
- Brayzon (8/5): - Close to the bus drop off and train station, and right in the middle of the city. Nice lady and she response quick enough. Good place to stay especially on a budget. Only problem was shower did not drain quick enough.
- Constantin (10/5): Clean, cosy excellent - Excellent!
- Kruthin (5/5): Passable - The interiors and the location right next to the canals Facilities as mentioned were not given ….Owner was unresponsive….Did not turn on the stove even after request…We were 30 minutes late to check out as we had gone out for breakfast for which she had entered our room without intimating and kept all our stuff outside in the common area.We agree we were late but she could have informed us before doing so or charged extra …otherwise stay was good great location
- Lory (6/5): This is not a luxurious property. In a great location, has a large room, & good value for the price. - The host was very communicative and gave clear instructions for check-in, all went smoothly. The room we booked had a private bathroom which had an unpleasant smell and shower without curtain.
- Eukene (8/5): Positive experience - The location. The towels, the bed and lotions such is laundry, fridge.. The bathroom was outside the room. Some of the doors need to be fixed so the won’t be noisy when close.
- Brooke (10/5): - Perfect ! And clean and good location :)
- Anonymous (9/5): great, no complains - very big rooms, nicely furnished, nice clean bathroom, kitchen and massive living room
- Cilene (8/5): - It’s like a hostel with private rooms. But was a good deal for the city! Right by the channel.
- Drake (10/5): - Just all around a great place to stay.
- Antonietta (8/5): Fattibile - Il punto dell'appartamento va bene perché vai a piedi ovunque nella città
- Kevin (4/5): No hot water, tourist tax not as advertised, loud - Our stay was nothing short of a nuisance. For some reason they decided to do construction banging at 7:30 in the morning.
There was no hot water for both nights we stayed, we thought it was because someone used it up, but after speaking with others staying there, no one was able to shower with hot water. We messaged the owner and no response.
The owner is also trying to charge different tourist tax on everyone. The listing says $1.5 per person per night, we were quoted $4, someone else was told $5. We’ve reported this to Hotels.com, the person who worked there pretended she did not speak english.
Note that they will also come into your room unannounced once you leave. Secure your belongings and goods.
- Jordan (1/5): Nothing. - The cleaners are friendly! We stay for 2 nights without hot water! Such a nightmare during a period where outside is 10c.
We texted the management and they never reply or fixed. Such a bad experience!
- Tayfun (7/5): Not enjoyed - Silent Mosquitoes 🦟 couldn’t sleep even though I killed 20. Not kidding . And shower was flooding
- Obucina (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, cosy and quiet. The bathroom needs some upgrade. But everything was fine
- Dan (8/5): Very good - very hommy, big living room with kitchen and view ot the canal the doors hinges and handels needed some oiling
- Viktor (3/5): Just avoid this place - Location.. and common space ( huge historic hall )
Instructions.. brief and clear Everything else!
What a wast of potential.. I have to start with the main hall, great space, but most of the equipment was broken, leaking , smelly, furniture uncomfortable, organised ad random..
room.. maintain horribly, uncomfortable bed, cheap ikea arrange without logic and taste..
historic parquet floor “repaired” with bath towel
Bathroom.. horror started here.. whaaat .. holes in floor again cover by glued towels.. leaking toilet “fixed” with some disgusting textile.. shower standing on top of carpet .. one of most disgusting stuff I have ever experience in accommodations..
- Prakhar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Korab (1/5): Disappointing! - Extremely expensive for everything you touch squeaks. It is very old and not worth a single penny. Don’t BOOk in there, you will be very disappointed! I didn’t like the bed, the squeaking door, the water pump making noise inside your bedroom and counting
- Jakub (5/5): Localization was the key - The most important aspect was the localization and the place delivered on it. Visited to see Biennale. Getting in and out was also well organized with a code and keys. Would rent again. Bathrooms could use a refresher, but the place is kept well maintained by the cleaning ladies, also in the rooms.
- Natalia (3/5): Poor decorated rooms in apartments - I did not like nothing. I did not like that there is not WiFi, in 4 days. I did not like the decoration. I did not like that all doors make a lot of noise. I did not like that they try to skip the payment by booking and ask for the money in person, and I did not like that they asked for documents.
- Gustavo (2/5): Very poor -
- Sundara Ganeshan (4/5): - Pro:great location (10mins from train and bus station), safe, near water taxi, good food options. Common space is big and nice. Staff cleaned the bed and the room for us and they did great. Very quiet space.
Cons: wifi didn't work the whole time and the host did not respond when asked ( we stayed two days). The room space is tiny and has a bathroom and an open shower with a curtain and it's very easy to smell the bathroom from the bed. Ventilation is extremely bad. There is no net on the window to keep mosquitoes off the room. Because the ventilation is horrible you have to open the window to air the room out and when you do sooooo many mosquitoes come right in. We were in room 5. It was very difficult to use the shower as there is only a curtain separating the shower area from the rest of the room so the whole room fogs up or gets splattered with water. The sink is also right there. I know the smell from the canals can't be stopped but having the toilet in the bedroom without any separation isn't Good at all. We would not recommend.
- Dogukan (4/5): Sleepless night and feeling dirty - It is close to the main bus station Internet was not working, there are many mosquitoes we couldn’t sleep. There are many dead mosquitoes with blood around the room. Cafe machine was not working well.
- David (1/5): Bad -
- Simon (5/5): Unrenovated bathroom really ruined it. Other than that it was good. - Bed was clean and comfortable. Great location. The shared bathroom had a broken toilet seat and the shower mostly ran cold. Also it was difficult to shut the door of the bathroom as the tiles were lifting out the front. The room was also a bit smelly and opening the window just let in the cooking smell from the restaurant.
- Peterson (1/5): STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE - Location is good. This place taught me to pay closer attention to reviews in booking.com, and I hope whoever reads this message helps everyone to avoid this place and go through what we did.
As soon as we arrived, we could feel a foul smell in the room, and it was definitely not from the river nearby.
Place is really old, which is fine, as pictures shows, but a lot of things did not work: heater, fridge, etc...
I would be fine with everything above, however, what made me low score this place was the lack of customer service. On my last day, our shower was not heating properly. Sent a message to the owner (whom I have never seen, by the way), and he did not reply us back. We could not take shower that night because it was completely cold. Again, I could let it slide, because I know the building itself is old, and it rained that day, but the lack of commitment from the owner is what made me angry. Maybe he could not answer due to an emergency, I don't know, however, to the very end, we did not get any answer or even apologies for the situation.
- Louise (6/5): Great - The location was great! Room was clean and bed comfy. Facilities were worn. The shared bathroom was very old, worn and a bit dated. There was very little noise dampening, so you could hear people entering the bathroom (key lock was very loud) and apartment.
- Aleksandra (1/5): Bad -
- Jane (7/5): Maybe stay again - Clean. Close to buses Noisy. You could hear everything. Anytime someone got up at night to go to the bathroom.
- Amy (10/5): - Great stay very private and quiet!!
- Sonja (6/5): My friend paid for our stay at the property and a week late my card was charged for our stay. - The location and that we had limited kitchen facilities We paid the host at the apartment and a week later my card got charged as well. We effectively paid double and I can't get a refund for the second payment. I've been trying for nearly a month.
- Martin (1/5): Not returning - The balcony & shared front room are nice The shower was blocked, no lock on a shared bathroom, a toilet seat which did not fit the toilet, bathroom generally not in a good state- as well as previous issues, rust. No response from host when I reached out while there. Very loud doors. Hot water not guaranteed in shower .
- Péter (4/5): The pictures and description do not reflect reality - The location is perfect for multiple reasons. First, it is close to the traffic hubs, so you can get here easily and also reach everything in the city. Second, the street and environs are beatiful, picturesque.
There was cleaning every day. It helped a lot with the common bathroom issue. We had to share the bathroom with other guests. The Wi-Fi was flaky and only available in the common living room. The doors are loud.
- Sudip (2/5): room No. 5 : Not at all worth paying 169Euro per night for such a third class room. - Location of the Hotel, Bed linen. Room No. 5 : Very obnoxious smell continuously within the room, very low light, no ventilation ( window was sealed due to maintenance), open bathroom inside the room ( no privacy, one person has to go and sit outside when the other takes bath. water comes on the floor of the room after taking bath , little plastic curtain does not cover the water properly ) , very small toilet, black ash like materials falls on the bed from the wooden roof .
- Jerzy (8/5): Very good - Old charm. You can bike inside. Excellent for family. Bathroom outside the room.
- Nicolas (2/5): - Do NOT book this place if you still have time.
It has been the worst experience ever, the room was nothing compared with the photos, we couldn't sleep as the room stinks all night long.
I called the "hotel contact number" and nobody answered, then I wrote in whatapp, they reply "who are you" i explained who I was, room number etc, i told them air conditioning is not working, wifi doesnt work and the room stinks, they did nit give a f*ck, just ignored me.
Absolutely disgusting the toilet, the sink was in the middle of the room and the shower as well I had never been in such a horrible place.
DO NOT BOOK IT FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY
- Heegii (6/5): Pleasant - Location is good. Clean good Bathroom door is so noisy, shower is bad, we didn’t take a shower, tiny and uncomfortable. The shower was clogged
- Edoardo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Juan (2/5): Dissapointing - Super location! Many of the services offered were either unreliable or completely non-functional, including the kitchen, WiFi, electricity, air conditioning, and toilets. Unfortunately, this led to a disappointing experience. However, the owner was attentive and did his best to resolve the issues.
- Mostafa (7/5): Good -
- Quy (3/5): Terrible experience - It is close to the Venice train station. The air conditioning does not work well, the shower in the room is terrible. It is super small and unconvenience when locating close to the clothes cabinet. In addition, the staff is very rule when we complain about the air conditioning.
- Jude (2/5): This room is absolutely not worth what we paid for. It’s probably worth half the price if not less, judging by the avera - I liked nothing about the property. The smell, the eery entrance, the heat.
- Cynthia (7/5): Spacious apartment in a great location in Venice - Nice spot, walking distance to train station. Spacious room inside an apartment with large lounge and kitchen area. The bathrooms were additions and the facilities could be more comfortable. Right next to the restaurant and the window was always open due to the AC ducts so the room always smelled from the food cooking.
- Naira (8/5): Very good - Spacious and comfortable rooms. A beautiful balcony overlooking the canals of Venice. Air conditioning in good working order. Contactless check-in A person knocked on my room door twice before 9:30am, which I thought was quite out of place since this person kept reminding me that check out was at 10am through the door (which was clear, there was no need to wake up before check out time). I felt thrown out and forced to do things in a hurry and ended up leaving 10 minutes before check out time. It was very difficult to sleep because of the noise from the other guests, who had been talking in the hallway and slamming doors since 6am (which is not the property's fault). There is no WiFi and the shower in the bathroom is in poor condition since the water coming out of the shower is scarce.
- Ryan (7/5): Good - The shared living room is large and comfortable. The shared balcony's view is good. All the facilities in the living room are more than enough. The air conditioner is not a traditional one. It should be a cooling fan instead. The toilet and the shower room are added but not good for friends.
- Rashad (7/5): Good -
- Viktoriia (10/5): Exceptional - Clean bed, clean bathroom. Everything is fine, thank you. Our room did not have a good view from the window. But this is not a disadvantage, it's a small thing. But the common room had a balcony with a nice view.
- Fady (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (8/5): Amazing stay in Venice - The apartment was in the heart of Dorsoduro neighborhood, as you can read in the name! It was amazing to stay in the island for not a huge amount of money.
Even though the room was small, it was very comfortable.
The apartment had shared spaces, like living room and kitchen. In general, everything was clean and the other guest were quite polite and silent. In the bathroom, that we needed to share with people of other room, the locker was broken.
The oven in the kitchen didn’t work too.
- Jiří (9/5): I loved it, location is the best, nice comfy beds and a beautiful painted ceiling on the top. - This is basically a large apartment along one of countless channels in Venice, divided into several rooms with shared or reserved bathrooms near the bedrooms. There is a shared common room with kitchen, which was fairly well equipped. I liked it for the price we paid, the location is great - like 5 minutes walking from the big park house on Piazzale Roma, where we left the car. This is very convenient, it's easy to understand why, when you keep meeting poor tourists with large bags toiling along the streets of Venice... Also, AC was a lifesaver, although it is on rooms only... I cannot really complain, we were there just for a night, and everything was clean, working and corresponding to the price. Well, the coffee machine was leaking a bit, the toilet seat was a bit wiggly, but that's all that I could find, otherwise it was perfect.
- Olaff (10/5): 5 STARS - Awesome experience, the staff was very friendly. My room was amazing with a canal view, and so much room for such an amazing price. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I visit Venice
- Juan (4/5): Disappointing - The room was very clean and we had air conditioning. The shared bathroom was extremely dirty and old.
- Semyon (3/5): Poor - Nothing The place is on average cheaper than surrounding places but somehow it manages to not be worth the money.
We started the self-checking procedure with the neighbour shouting at us about his door(I guess instead of buying a new lock they prefer to scream at each visitor who is trying to figure out the lock).
The room is awful, the AC is ridiculous, you have to keep windows open and keep the road for mosquitos otherwise it doesn't work plus it is loud as living nearby a highway.
The whole room smells awfull because of the toilet which is somehow super loud as well.
The living room looks like a storage place full of (owner's?) things.
- Cameron (4/5): Uncomfortable sleep, staff were nice however - Location The room had a sewerage smell to it and the Airconditioning was poor
- Natalia (9/5): Superb - Location near the Piazzale Roma. Short walk only. Interesting to live in such old house and see it inside. Enough space in the room. Clean. Big shared living room/kitchen. There is even washing machine. Comfortable bed, air-conditioner. Communication with the host was easy and quick. We stayed only for one night and didn't have time to find anything we didn't like.
- Hadi (7/5): Good - Hi. I paid the cost of apartment cash to the owner . He said you must to pay 400£ . I paid it . But in application the cost of this 3 days was 355£ . I paid 45£ more . I have reciept from owner . Please explane to me for what i had to pay 45£ more of the application cost?
- Jocelyne (10/5): Très bien placé
Super chambre
Tous était nickel - Très propres
- Emir (1/5): In summary I am giving a 1 star because I’m not able to give a 0. - As soon as I arrived at the room there was a bad odor of smell. Not sure what it was but I had to book another hotel for my stay. I asked for a refund and have not received one or a email about it that I will be receiving one, I did not use the room and left after 5 mins of being in the apartment. After reaching out to the hotel manager, regarding the issue they did not offer any alternative or another room. It was terrible overall.
- Ibrahim (8/5): Very good -
- Chiara (3/5): Clean and good location but no working wifi and felt like student accommodation - Nice location No working wifi also felt like student accommodation
- Cindy (6/5): Affordable bnb in Venice - Not a bad price for Venice I think the check in process could have been communicated via the app beforehand to allow for a self check in option
- Hill (8/5): Very good -
- Shelley (8/5): Great accommodation is a good location. - Very good location, really pretty setting with a canal right outside and very close to lots of amenities. Aircon was great and so nice to come back to at the end of the day. When we arrived our room window was open (this in itself was nice) but the mosquito netting on the window was broken and we had a minimum of 3 mosquitos in the room 😕 we received quite a few bites and this did prevent me from sleeping on the first night.
- Serena (1/5): Bad - There was a mosquito killer electric device. The room is unique because of the beautiful old building architecture. No air conditioning, even though the listing says it has it. The heat builds in this room throughout the day! Don't stay here unless you like sleeping/laying awake sweating in 80+ degree F heat. You can't even open the window to cool the room down unless you want to get bitten by mosquitoes (no window screen), and there are tons because of all the water. The hotel manager did not respond to my WhatsApp message (and there are no staff to help on site) for assistance (maybe a fan at least?). I stayed in early June for reference.
The bathroom emitted a musty unpleasant smell (the room air spray was at empty; not refilled for my stay) and the water from the high-pressure sink faucet splattered over the room since it's in the room next to the bed. The shower only had ice cold water, which I could actually endure somewhat since the room was boiling.
After my stay, the manager asked me to complete payment and then ignored my complaints and request for a partial refund. With no AC, this should be much cheaper.
- Bronwyn (4/5): Unclean, hot, good location - The location is good for travelling with suitcases. On arriving at the apartment, we were allocated room 5, which has the shower and toilet in the same space as the bed i.e. not separated using a door. The room overlooks the next-door restaurant's wall-enclosed fake garden. I immediately expressed my horror at the unhygienic arrangements, but we had to spend a night in the room before being allocated room 6, which had an en-suite shower and overlooked the canal, for the next 3 nights. This room was better. However, the common spaces of kitchen and lounging area were not clean, old, and needed care and attention. The host was responsive when the front door code stopped working.
- Tho (5/5): Ok - There was no breakfast! Location is ok We got to the property in the rain. There was no one there to help. I had to contact my son in the state who made the reservation to get a number to contact someone. Turned out the phone number is an under the word reservation . I called and some male picked up the phone and said “Didn’t you get my email this morning?” My heart stopped because I thought the deal was canceled and I didn’t have a place to stay that night. He then asked me to give him my Whats apps phone number. I told him I just downloaded the apps when I got to Italy , so I didn’t know the number and that I can give him my phone number from the States. He refused and hang up. What an ordeal I had to go through with the help of the employee who worked in the retail shop next to the air B&B to finally get back in touch with him with a WhatsApp number. He then gave me a code to open the door, which didn’t work. I Videoed and sent it to him to finally being told there was a key on top of the box. Unnecessary stress!
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Great location and amenities.
- Fidan (9/5): Amazing location with the view! Lots of shops, restaurants nearby. Clean room, well planned service. - Amazing location with the view! Lots of shops, restaurants nearby. Clean room, well planned service. We were able to check in a lit bit earlier and that was very helpful for us. And host was very nice. Water problem in the shower
- Mariia (9/5): Nice - Good location, close to the train station. Quiet apartment, enough space for 3 people. Host was nice and we were able to leave our bags after the check out (though you leave them in a common room without any locks, but still, it was good) It would be nice to make some renovations, bathtub was with cracks and rust. And as it's humid area, there are a lot of bugs, flies, etc. They had a anti mosquito plug, which is nice, so I advice you use it!
- Chaitanya (8/5): Very good -
- Reto (10/5): - Danke. Alles perfekt.
- Netherway (7/5): The property was in a great location that was nice and quiet part of Venice with a short picturesque view (5-10 minutes - The property was in a great location that was nice and quiet part of Venice with a short picturesque view (5-10 minutes) to the main centre. The property was shared facilities, I’m not sure if I was fully aware it was shared kitchen and utilities however the pictures do not show how spacious the property really is. The room gets very hot and we did not have a remote for the aircon and as the property is next to a restaurant we didn’t keep our window open. Couple and single traveller friendly I’d say! Let us put our luggage down before check in. Overall, very good
- Stephanie (3/5): Very expensive, price was cynically inflated due to Pope’s visit to Venice - Location
View of the canal, quiet street. Bathroom was poor with strange grubby carpet on part of the floor. Bleak decor throughout.
Little privacy as room opened straight onto communal area.
Strange smell in the communal space.
Didn’t see any staff despite emailing them with query.
- Farid (9/5): Superb - Location is amazing. Setup is beautifully nostalgic. As it is an old building, some setbacks were expected, but I doubt you can find a better place in Venice even for the twice the price
- Zahra (7/5): Good price and lovely experience of a Venetian balcony with nice staff. - It’s location is near the train station which was what we wanted and the price is pretty good. There’s shared common areas like the kitchen. The balcony and style is very cute. We were told we had a private bathroom which we did… but it was outside of our room which meant we’d walk and people could potentially see us from the common spaces… the bathrooms heating was on so it was super stuffy in there.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luong (6/5): May 8 - 11 - Location of the apartment excellent. I booked a room with a private bathroom I didn't get. I paid extra for the room. I ended have to share with other trailer
- Kirakosyan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Fabio (5/5): A passable stay for one night. - Good area. Decent if you need a bed to sleep in for one night. The bathroom was very old and the floor of the room wasn’t properly cleaned up.
- Bruce (10/5): Good! - We had a problem w/ the sewage grinder the first night. Our host made it right the following morning. Our original room's window faces the canal. Due to this, it could be quiet noisy at night.
- Pia (10/5): Nice, clean, quiet, big rooms 10 min to train station. - Very central. Quiet and nice place. Right by a canal. Both shops and restaurants very close. 10 minutes walk from the train station. Big common area, both with a big kitchen, several tables and sitting area. We recommend the place.
In addition it was very easy with check-in, and the communication with the host. Access-codes to both the door to the building and to the appartment. No need to meet in person. Communication on what's app.
- Gerel (9/5): Superb - We stayed 2days. That apartment was everything(fridge, coffee, what you need all have). And there has one of problem is from toilet, sink, shower bad smells, thats so difficult. otherwise nice. We will reccommend

- Jordan (5/5): Passable - The location was amazing and the host was very nice. Shared living area was very clean and spacious. Wifi was also very good The toilet kept making noises throughout the night and there was a large smell coming from ontop of the bed which smelt like sewerage. The shower was tiny and there was no floor mat and the water spilled into the middle of the room.
