• Christine (6/5): - When we first arrived, I did explain to them because of the Travel hours. I have booked an extra night and asked was a refund offered. The lady laughed at me and said I don’t think so not in a nice way at all. Secondly, going to our room was very dark and scary we were all the way in the back and lights didn’t come on till we were at our door felt unsafe. Open door to the rooms smelled like smoke the entire time we had to open our windows to get the smell out that didn’t help plus didn’t like having window opened. It was very dated place. Only one elevator working and only one restaurant available. The staff was pretty much nice and friendly if need be I would stay there again, but I would definitely need a different room. Add stated no smoking hotel. My husband had health issues so it was very difficult to stay in there Also be prepared that they don’t have normal US sockets and you’ll have to purchase adapters sockets if need be no way to charge your phone or anything like that. It was a very busy time so it seemed to be over priced for the stay.

I was only in Dublin for two nights and the fact that the bus stop right outside went to directly to both the city center and the airport was a major plus. The day I checked out the hotel let me leave my bag onsite, as my flight was not until late that evening. This meant I was able to spend another full day down town without having to worry about hauling my bag around with me.

• Paula (6/5): Four star???? - Well a four star is a bit of a stretch… The hotel is old clearly, but also not well kept. The rooms need serious updating….its a very basic hotel. Only one lift worked near the front desk and it was so small. The staff was friendly, but if you are at all weird about hotels this one would be a challenge for you.

• William (2/5): - The property is great in appearance ,cleanliness ,location etc There were 4 firearms and unlike others I always respond to them. The first one was off by the time I was dressed at approximately 1-1:30. The second one again was short and was at about 2:15 now I went down to here that it was false alarm , first one someone smoking the room , 3rd time after 3 it was another story and there was discussion by staff of turning off the system . There were people leaving the hotel and many other frustrated guests. The 4 th was the final one for me after the 3rd I had packed and I was going to leave the hotel. There were 2 police at the front desk reacting to a frustrated guest who had broken a picture or framed notice. After a discussion with other guests they appeared to be concerned about how staff was handling this situation in a 200 room hotel ( fully booked) . I have travelled in 40 of the 50 states in the USA and all Provinces and Territories in my Country Canada, and all but 4 or 5 countries in Europe . I have never a situation so badly handled by Staff, it was as if there were no safety protocols in this Hotel.

• Christian (2/5): Terrible stay - We had a terrible stay, false fire alarm going off many times during the night. Woke up the whole hotel. Customer service was horrible with no answers during this situation and no compensation for any of the guests. Many guests in lobby complaining and wanted answers. We found another hotel at 5am and checked out early. Called the hotel for a refund and emailed them, still no answers. Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. I expected more from them. Will not recommend
• raul (6/5): For the price it could be better, good location - I make specifications (not all) but the lobby staff should be more friendly, I didn't know that the hotel didn't have air conditioning and the refrigerators couldn't be used.
• Peter (8/5): - We were allocated a room, there was a terrible smell of sewage in the room. We looked for a change of rooms and this was arranged. Breakfast was very good although some of the cooked food was cold.
• Debby (10/5): Beautiful - Honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The Bonnington was easy to get to by bus , easy check in and check out . The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, spacious and very clean . Good amenities available and walking distance from bus stop, restaurants and shops . Can’t recommend this hotel enough

• Neil (2/5): - This hotel is a complete disappointment and does not meet expectations at all. The building looks like an old, run-down house. At reception, three employees seemed overwhelmed and unprofessional. I arrived at 14:40 and wasn’t allowed to check in until 15:00. In the meantime, I had a club sandwich with fries for €15. Which was okay. The room is furnished with outdated, worn, and cheap furniture. The so-called wellness area is a joke – it looks like a school swimming pool. The sauna and Turkish bath are extremely basic, the area is not clean, and the plastic loungers are impossible to relax on. Even the shower didn’t get properly warm. Charging CHF 170 per night for this is outrageous.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay. Great hotel - Despite having reservations about hotels.com from seeing some not so great reviews. The hotel did receive our booking and all was okay. Just call up the hotel before hand to see if they have received the booking before you go. The hotel was a great find. Only 30 minutes to airport and 30 minutes into Dublin. Lovely facilities and nice and clean. Expensive breakfast though which was nice but nothing special.

• Ita (10/5): - Very warm weather and air-conditioning not working in room. As soon as we reported it to reception they sent an engineer straight up but could not be fixed so they put a fan in our room.
• Adrian (2/5): Dirty bed - Awful hotel. Never a 4* star in a million years. The bed sheets were dirty and when they came to change them there was a big hole in the mattress. The mattress springs were also pushing through the bed. The one thing you want when staying in a hotel is cleanliness and a comfortable bed but they weren’t able to provide that. Very disappointing and won’t be returning.
• Azizah (6/5): - Did not like room 3132. It smelled musty, dampy n the carpet looked dirty. The sheer curtains had two long rips that looked horrible! Definitely not a 4-stars hotel by this room! Moved us to room 1104 which was cleaner n without the musty smell but the table fan was dusty n the small fridge not working. Did not like the service at The Croft Restaurant- the waitress was rude, sulky looking n lacking social skills, not checking on us, not clearing the plates n waited over 45 minutes for the bill! The worst thing was finding a candy wrapper in my salad during lunch next day! The Food Manager apologized n took it off our bill. Lots of other services n maintenance problems with this hotel n certainly not a 4-stars hotel by our experience! The pool n hot tub were nice but the shower stalls in the pool area were not working. The gym has lots of machines that were rusty but having the cleaning spray n towels handy was helpful. I appreciate some of the staff who did gave us good service n others who listened n tried to help out with my concerns, I certainly would expect nothing less especially from a 4-stars hotel, as they claim to be. I don’t think we’ll be back!

• Robert (6/5): - The main benefit of this property is that it’s close to the airport. They have signs saying a strict no outside food or drink which was disappointing. The rooms also do not have AC so just be prepared for that. It was nice being able to have a 3 bed room for my group.

• Melissa (6/5): - I chose this hotel for proximity to the Dublin airport and the pool. It was convenient for the airport…though still a 20 euro ride away. The pool was ok but they make you buy an uncomfortable swim cap to use to pool. The staff at the pool were very unfriendly. The hotel staff at the desk were nice. Though my key card didn’t work at first so, after I very long flight I had to trudge back down to the main desk with my bags to ask for a card that worked. The carpet in the hallways is gross…very dirty. The room itself was nice enough though the refrigerator did not work. The bag/door man was very nice and helped me back to my room with my bag and made sure to key card worked. He was the best thing about the hotel. The food at the restaurant was decent but overpriced.
• Dj (2/5): - Paid extra for a King Room. The shower sprayed water all over the bathroom (it was loose and spraying towards the ceiling) We tightened that ourselves, only to find that the tub had multiple cracks and was leaking into the floor and flooding the bathroom. We asked to change rooms, but the man they sent to give us the new keys did not offer to help move our bags and took our keys for the current room. This meant our lights went out, so we packed and moved rooms in the darkness. Our new room, which was expected to be a more standard room, had a roll-away bed in it, as well as the standsrd double bed and twin bed for the style of room. This meant we had 0 floor space. I told the front desk and they asked if I'd like to "Just leave the hotel?" It was 11pm and that wasnt an option, i just asked them to take the extra bed out. "Thats just how the room is sir, we can't remove it." I said I understand these rooms have 2 beds, but there is an extra roll-away bed that is taking up all of the open space in the room. He said that's just how it is. When i got back up to the room, we figured out how to get the bed folded and pushed it to the corner and I called the front desk again, to have them remove the bed, to which they sent 2 men and they finally realized what the issue was and rolled it out. The following morning, after being told a manager would be available at 8am, we waited 30 minutes at check out to speak to someone, just for her to tell us she couldnt refund anything. 0/10
• stephen (10/5): - Nice place with some parking available but no a/c and our windows were sealed, a fan was provided. Good price. A convenient distance from the city centre.
• Margaret (8/5): - We were able to check in early. Parking available on the street in front of the hotel. Room was okay but too warm. Window opened about 4" and we had a fan running all night. Close enough to walk about town. They seem to have a homeless problem around the hotel.

• Tony (4/5): - We stayed for 3 nights, toiletry items called to front desk were ignored. Instead we were told to remove our do not disturb sign for housekeeping entry. The rules were; no outside drinks or food allowed in the room. The mini fridge was broken and no ice allowed. You cannot adjust your temperature due to no gage in the room. There was a sign at the pub entrance, stating that you could be refused entry do to your dress attire. They did have a beautiful pool and large gym facilities with Fitness Trainers.
• Christopher (10/5): - There was plenty of free onsite parking which is a huge plus! It’s a bit too far to walk anywhere but taxi/uber is pretty reasonable. Also it’s closer to the airport which was nice. There is a pool and hot tub on site. It wasn’t super hot but it was nice enough to relax after a long travel day. We arrived early so while we waited for our room we had a great time in the onsite bar chatting with the bartender Jed. We booked the wrong room but they were able to accommodate our request to switch and the room was great. Highly recommended!
• Mandy (6/5): - Pool facilities were spectacular. Rooms were clean however, we could feel springs in mattress and refrigerator was warm. I was told a warm fridge was normal and was usually only meant for medicine. No way to keep drinks cold. No microwave. They didn't allow you to bring in food to hotel so you are forced to eat high priced restaurants or off site. We found that very odd. This hotel was ok at best, its way out of city so it was a 30 minute bus ride or 20 bucks for a cab ride to city center. Breakfast was expensive and mediocre. If we ever returned to Dublin, I think we will try somewhere else.

I was unable to sleep it was so hot in the room and opening the window didn’t help at all. I also saw small hairs all over the comforter….

Particularly enjoyed the pool and spa complex including Pizza at the onsite restaurant McGettigans. Would definitely recommend and will be staying again on next business visit.

• Christopher (10/5): - The leisure club attached to the hotel was a great addition, plenty of equipment for any serious gym goers and a nice steam room, pool and jacuzzi to wind down in. The sauna was out of action. The bar the previous night was also spot on, a decent offering on the rail, friendly engaging staff a decent Guinness on draft as you would hope and expect. The room was cosy and comfortable and the bathroom even had a bath. The USB points weren’t all working but I used the power points instead. Will definitely come back 👍

The staff were incredibly friendly and always helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel offers two restaurants, a well-equipped bar, and attached spa, pool, and sauna facilities, which were a nice bonus. Public transportation to both the city center and airport is very convenient, with services running every 15 minutes. I’d recommend getting a TFI Leap card to save on transport costs—it made getting around even easier. The only suggestion I’d offer is for the hotel to consider some updates or renovations to give the property a more modern look. However, overall, I had a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

• Kirby (6/5): - The property was under renovation while we were there. Bar and restaurant service was not great, food was okay but not great. Our second room was better than our first stay there. We got a newer room the second time.

• Carol (8/5): - We only stayed for one night and left early the next morning, but managed to still get the free breakfast buffet which was great and had a lot of choices. Overall stay was good.

• Mirna (10/5): - The hotel is not in the city center but is close to bus stop 1 1/2 blocks from hotel - multiple lines. We used public transportation in Dublin and the service is excellent. We actually took the bus to the airport. Our room did not have air conditioning, but we were there in September and the temperature was fine. The room was spacious, and bathroom was a good size. We had breakfast buffet, and the selection is very good.
• Maria Del Pilar (8/5): - Enjoyed my quick stay. It's near the airport,15 minute drive by taxi.
• Javier (2/5): - They don't ask if you have a car and the next day my car was clamped without notice from the hotel
• Irene (10/5): - I stayed here for a layover from the Dublin Airport. It was a last minute booking at 21:00 but I was given a nice comfortable room. Everything was clean and nice, the bed was extremely comfortable as well! One of the best beds I've slept in in a hotel
• John (8/5): - Staff took care of booking issues with little stress.
