- I5209HXstephanier (10/5): Christmas-time Gem!!!!! - My partner and I stayed at Hotel Hendricks for the weekend before Christmas to do some sightseeing and I was absolutely blown away by the hospitality and beauty of the place! The hotel is in a PRIME location - a block away from Bryant Park and about 2-3 blocks from Grand Central making it the perfect place to stay when trying to hit all the sights in midtown, with easy access to the rest of the city as well. The room was pristine and beautiful with a VERY comfy bed. Service was professional and accommodating! Will be staying here again, 10/10 would recommend.

- oliviapF4440VT (10/5): Amazing experience - Family of 3 stayed here for 4 nights and could find no faults. When we arrived the staff were helpful and so friendly, and our room was upgraded to celebrate a birthday we were there to celebrate. The room was perfect, the bathroom was top quality and the beds were so comfortable. We only used the rooftop bar a few times but received excellent service and the food was incredible as well as the restaurant downstairs, Isla’s, which had a really good menu. The location was perfect walking distance from all the attractions we wanted to see and surrounded by really nice little cafes for a quick breakfast. From the room and even the lobby, you could barely hear the NYC traffic and noise, making the experience even better. Some people mention the rooms are a little dark, they do have dim lighting but we liked this after all the bright lights and activity around New York. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back.

- I6222OYkarenr (10/5): Hendricks - good value hotel - We stayed at the Hendricks for the New York marathon. The location is great. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the Empire State building. The room was large enough given its a city hotel. We had 2 large beds. We didn't eat in the hotel. We did try the enclosed bar at the top of the hotel but unfortunately, due to bad weather, the rooftop bar was closed. The hotel provided water & a coffee machine. We did request a kettle but were told that the coffee machine could be used for hot water which was a bit hit & miss. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for location & price
- A7227SOluiss (4/5): Below average at best! - Still at this hotel, so more to experience, but overall it is below average. Feels like they are just doing the very least as a hotel and don’t understand how it is 4 stars. Hotel is not bad, there are just better ones in the area. Lots of little things like only plastic cups and disposable cups in the rooms - they won’t supply ceramic or glass (staff said it is because they may break-ridiculous) No loo brush - not a pleasant thing to be missing. But as you arrive, doors are not automatic, no one to help with luggage/doors, bar/restaurant is disappointing compared to pictures although we have not tried it as there are better places in area. Room is tiny, basic storage and lots of knicks and marks, scratch on TV screens etc. Also surprised that no housekeeping unless you ask for it - not had that before. Noisy air conditioning, rubbish coffee maker etc lots of small things too. Bed is comfortable. No lounge area downstairs and minimal space at bar - you just wouldn’t spend time there with so much choice outside. Overall would not come back and would recommend looking elsewhere.

The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and very clean, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect , it was right in the heart of everything. A special shout-out to Anthony, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. His service and attention to detail made all the difference. Highly recommend!

It was decorated well and minimally great for the size of the room it had all the basics. The rooftop has amazing views with good drinks. The lobby also has a cafe with breakfast. We only had the coffee downstairs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great exactly in the middle of 34th and 42nd.

- kikikimmy (4/5): At one time…. - Let me start by saying, I am in my 50’s I prefer the extra’s that I can normally get with boutique affordable luxury stays. I thought this was affordable luxury. I paid half a grand for this, per night in Canadian. In this case a chain hotel probably would have been a better option for me based on my likes. We stayed at the hard rock last month another 4 star which was way better value. This time I was paying for the boutique vibe that Hendricks appeared to be at first glance. Hotel class should be a 2.5 star class. So customers that follow a class for amenities do not feel mislead like I did. I’m rating it properly. It’s like an upscale Hostel in my opinion, very basic which makes it very expensive. No water bottles in rooms. You have to request house keeping each day, no robes or slippers. No glasses for wine or any glass wear. Towels are thin and small (I’m Not a larger person and the towels barely covered me). The bar / restaurant on the property is not affiliated with the hotel so you can’t borrow glasses or anything. This hotel does not have room service or affiliation services. There is no shared spaces aside from the restaurant and bar which you must order since they are not part of the hotel. No real lobby. The rooms are so tiny even for NYC. Shockingly tiny actually. Way too small for two people. All rooms are the same size. I asked to pay for an upgrade but was told all the rooms are the same My room 504 had a urine smell. I did mention this and the staff tried with room fresher which lasted very temporarily I didn’t not complain again. I don’t want to be a pain either. Nothing felt fresh to me maybe because the smell and the floors just didn’t look clean. Bed linens are basic and not that fresh comfort that I hope for. The bed is firm but not an overly comfortable bed. I was actually considering going a few doors down to the other hotels after the first night but my husband reminded me we are spending very little time in the room. I just felt very mislead based on the reviews and pictures but I reminded myself that when I was younger the smaller comforts didn’t really matter as much as they do now. This place would be fine aside from the urine smell and the price. You should not pay more than a couple hundred (a few hundred in Canadian dollars) for this stay. Great location if you want to be close to Time Square but not in it. They have a really cute but small rooftop bar with amazing views. If I were in my late 20’s early 30’s and travelling alone this hotel would be fine and I have stayed in hotels like this and you make it work. If you want this area and hotel “comforts” take a look a few doors down as there are true 4 stars close by.

- Alexander (10/5): - We just wrapped our NYC vacation and this was our first stay at Hotel Hendricks. We were really impressed and are already planning to return in a couple of months. The lobby is on the smaller side and there are only two elevators, but those are minor trade-offs for what we got in return. The rooms may be compact, but they’re clean, stylish, and comfortable. The soundproofing was fantastic. We could not hear a single thing from the busy street below. And the shower? Incredible. The water pressure was so good that I am still wishing my own shower at home could compare. The location is perfect. Just steps from Bryant Park, the subway, and Broadway, it made exploring the city easy and enjoyable. Overall, Hotel Hendricks gave us exactly what we wanted from a NYC stay: comfort, convenience, and a touch of style. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the comfort, the great location, and the amazing staff. I can’t say enough. I am in NYC quite often and it will most certainly be my “go-to” hotel from now on.

Several lights in my room were janky and not working. The bathroom swinging door was truly a pain in the ass. Good option if a guest is not going to be in the room much.

I would say this is a “stylish hotel in the heart of NYC.” The hospitality is off the charts and the rooms are oh so cozy. I also love the tiger prints in the room and gives it a very New York City feel. One of my favorite parts was for sure the coffee bar in the lobby too. They have a restaurant inside of the hotel too which is fabulous and so convenient. They also have a rooftop i feel like some people don’t know about and the view..let me tell ya, INCREDIBLE! My room each stay faces the Empire State Building and i am sure most rooms there do, but if not you’d an go to the rooftop for a great view. I already can’t wait to come back and stay!
- graciebella (10/5): I would return - Brilliant hotel and lovely staff. Very comfortable beds and the best shower I’ve ever experienced. Room was quite small (but I hear that’s a NYC thing anyway). If I had to criticise at all it would be to allow better lighting in the room (for make up etc) if we required it and also a mirror on the dressing table. I emailed ahead of arrival to let reception know that we were there to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday - we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us and a brilliant room view of the Empire State Building. The location is excellent - just a few minutes walk to some of the major attractions. I’d stay again.

- Lara Alam (10/5): - Hotel Hendricks is a great property at an excellent location. The front desk staff were very pleasant and very prompt with fixing any issues with the room. My only complaint is that the bathroom isn’t soundproofed. You can hear everything that is going on in there! Luckily I was there with my sister so I didn’t care but be forewarned. The room and lobby were also very dark but it added to the ambiance. The rooftop bar was great with a wonderful view of the city and Empire State Building. Overall it was a wonderful stay!

- Julie (6/5): - Pros: The rooms are very small but expected since it's in the center of Manhattan. The rooftop bar has amazing views! Water pressure in the shower was almost TOO good. Beds were comfortable and it was nice to have daily maid service. Close to so many shops and food options. Cons: when we got the the hotel there was an unexpected extra cost per day. Also the parking garage they advertised is actually 2 blocks away and a garage they partner with. The workers at the garage were rude and quote you different prices when you bring your car vs when you pick it up. Almost $100 difference. Also you have no access to your car while it's in the ramp.
- EmEEllis (10/5): Great base for exploring - Stayed for 4 nights. Check in was quick and easy, we got a room on the 18th floor, unfortunately no view of the Empire State Building and we looked out onto another building. The bed was great, big and comfy and the pillows were really good. Rooms small but you don’t need much space when only using them to sleep. The bathroom was great- shower amazing and water pressure was very powerful. The complimentary toiletries were great and there was also a hairdryer. The only thing missing was a usable mirror. There is one above the sink in the bathroom and one of the bathroom walls is a very dark tinted mirror which was difficult to use as the lighting in the room is not bright at all. Check out was at 11am and we were able to store our bags before we left NY at 3pm. We didn’t eat in the restaurant or drink in the rooftop bar so can’t comment on them. Overall, great location and would recommend.
- Breean (6/5): - I booked through Expedia (which states transparency on fees) , and upon arrival was told there was an extra daily fee...for what I have no idea. There's a sign at the front desk saying they give you a bottle of water (yay but what else am I getting for my $42 daily?), and they were out of water anyway. If you read the fine print, you will see that there is an extra daily fee that you have to pay upon arrival at the hotel.The rooms are reminiscent of a cruise ship...tiny with no room to store luggage, and DARK. They are aesthetically cool, but not very functional. The light in the bathroom is off to the left, so using that mirror and applying makeup is not ideal...and that's the only mirror. The heavy swinging glass door to the bathroom cannot be propped open...highly inconvenient, especially if you have 2 people going in and out. We had an issue where our A/C stopped in the middle of the night and didn't come back on. The desk guys in the morning said they'd have someone look at it. When we got back, our room was still warm, but we got it to work again. When we asked a girl at the front desk if anyone had come to work on it, she said she didn't know and had no way of finding out (what??). On the flip side, we found the male desk attendants to be super friendly all 3 days, and the water pressure was great. But there are a dozen hotels right around there at the same price point, so I'll try a different one next time.

- zatyner (10/5): Hotel Hendricks - we had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Hendricks! from the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. general manager Anthony went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable, his attentiveness truly made a difference. the whole team, especially Ethan and his colleagues at the front desk, were friendly, professional, and always happy to help. the rooftop bar is stunning, offering the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the city and empire state views, and the Aussie restaurant downstairs gave us a little taste of home - everything we tried was delicious! overall, Hotel Hendricks exceeded all our expectations. we can’t wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The hotel was unbelievably clean, to the point where even spots that I was looking for dirt, there wasn't any. The toiletries were comfortable, the bed was far better than mine at home, the pillows were so good we've requested to find out the brand. The staff was friendly, they were able to provide cleaning service and extra amenities whenever we needed them. The breakfast at the restaurant inside was excellent, and the rooftop bar had wonderful views. As much as I'd like to experience more of the city, if I plan on coming back to New York, I will probably stay here again, because of its excellent location, wonderful modern styling, super super clean rooms, comfortable bed and pillows especially, and friendly helpful staff.

It is 5 minute walk to the subway station and walkable to Times Square in 10 minutes. Location felt safe to walk to and from even at night. Staff: Amazing- always helpful. Swift check in and always helpful if you needed something. The Room: Our room was lovely and so quiet. It had great air con and the shower was incredible! The bed was also super comfortable. The room amenities were good- shower gel, shampoo and conditioner all in the shower. Body lotion and soap were plentiful. Cleaning was done every day to a high standard. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we were to revisit New York.

Its close to the subway and penn station. The room was clear and tidy. It was functional and had a fridge which was helpful. The shower water pressure was excellent. We didnt use the rooftop bar but went up to see the views with no issues. Staff are friendly and helpful. City tax and fees were cheaper than I expected which was a bonus too. Overall its a great hotel to see nyc from. One more point its close to a deli and convenience store. I would recommend this hotel.

The rooms are on the small side, but very clean and modern. The restaurant on the first floor has an indoor space, an outdoor space, and a small bar. There’s an indoor rooftop bar/restaurant and an outdoor rooftop bar that serves snacks and great views. The manager, Eugene , Daniel and Nehemiah at the front desk, Kristina at Isla, and others seem to work very well together and went out of their way assisting guests. I am making this spot my “go to” hotel in NYC.

Everything about this hotel was absolutely beautiful, from the exquisite décor to the incredible ambiance. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by an amazing staff who truly make you feel welcome. Anthony, the General Manager, made my booking seamless and was super helpful throughout the process. My room was perfect—spacious, thoughtfully designed, and spotless, with all the modern comforts that made my stay so relaxing. I wasn’t sure where to eat dinner, but the hotel concierge went above and beyond with fantastic recommendations. I also took a trip upstairs to the rooftop bar — simply incredible! I’m still raving about those views. WOW! I highly recommend Hotel Hendricks for anyone looking to stay in Midtown and catch a Broadway show. It’s close to everything! But seriously, don’t miss grabbing a glass of champagne on the rooftop overlooking the stunning cityscape for an unforgettable experience!!! I can't wait to come back!

- aidan7082 (6/5): 3 star in 5 star location - Location was perfect with everything in walking distance. Beside rooms, the hotel itself doesn’t really offer anything yet you pay an additional circa $40 per night to enjoy whatever additional facilities? This is on top of your prepaid booking and charged when you check out. The ground floor and rooftop bars are run by another company and you will need to make a reservation for the internal cocktail bar at roof level. The outdoor roof level bar is a good alternative and does not require a reservation. It also comes with an unimpeded view of the Empire State Building but with 2 drinks costing $31 (mocktail and can of beer), probably not the best place to settle in for a few. Our room 502 was very small with limited (almost non-existent) room for 2 suitcases. The lighting in the room was so dim that we needed to use phone torches to see inside our suitcases. This made us question how clean the room could be unless the house keeping wore headlamps? Would I stay here again, probably not but it did the job and if you’re not overly concerned about your room, then the location is second to none……..which I guess is their selling point.

My friend and I were immediately welcomed by the warm aesthetic of the hotel and kind staff at the front desk. The view from my room had an up close look of the Empire State Building and downtown Manhattan. The room size was perfect and I slept excellent every night. Would happily recommend this place to everyone! PS: This hotel is located close to a lot of attractions, good food, and places to shop!

For that reason alone, not to mention that Bryant Park is minutes away on foot, suggests a memorable stay awaits. The lobby is very small, front desk staff are extremely helpful, and the rooms have nothing to commend them, per se, aside from the view and mine was clean and comfortable. Indeed, it was a challenge to walk by the bed without bumping up the large screen TV. This was my first stay here and, overall, it made favorable impression.

Very close to Bryant Park which is a great spot to start the day. A couple blocks from Times Square so not too much traffic and noise. We had a single king bed room which was smaller than we're used to, but larger than most other NYC rooms in this price range. Shower water pressure was spectacular. Soundproof room was silent at night. AC worked well. Staff was attentive to the small requests we had (extra towels, in-room coffee replenishment) and pre check-in baggage check was complimentary. Espresso martinis from the lobby bar were delicious. We did not eat at the restaurant. No frills, high-quality, clean. Strongly recommend.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Hendricks and will return for future NY travel plans.

Room 2305 is the size of a shoebox, it’s so small we had to shimmy sideways along the end of the bed to get to the other side of the room. I had paid more for a king room with an empire view so I can only assume that a standard king room is the size of a broom closet! Cleaning was more miss than hit as the housekeeping staff spoke no English & did not seem to have anyone to interpret for them. Housekeeping’s phone went to MessageBank which was always full so no message could be recorded. We ate at the Isla restaurant on our first night and never went back, the food was dreadful and my chicken was like a dried up piece of boot leather. A very disappointing stay and we would not recommend Hotel Hendricks, you can do better for your money.

We loved being so close to Bryant Park. The roof top patio gives you a beautiful view of the City at night. The main downsides are every time you shower the entire bathroom floor gets soaked. We tried angling the shower head and alternating the shower doors to see if it made a difference. It did not. There is also a 1 inch gap all around the bathroom door when closed so there is no privacy for using the bathroom. Also, there was no way to prop the bathroom door open which we also found annoying, especially after showering. The 1 elevator always seemed to be out of service at night. I would stay here again if the price made sense compared to other hotels in the area. It was clean and safe and the beds are comfortable.

- Paul (4/5): - The hotel was in a very convenient location but the AC in the room was terrible. We had to get up 5 to 6 tomes every night to tuen the SC back on. An engineer came and said that the AC was on an occupancy sensor, but even with us in the room it went off, even during the day, even though the temperature had not yet been achieved. They came out a few times but resolved nothing. They didnt really seem to care and the engineer knew why but couldnt say. I have installed these sensors before and i know that they had actually set the room temperature within the thermostat to override the requested room temperature . Would never consider going back there again. Also the room facilities fee, which is detailed at Front desk, listed that bottled water would be delivered to the room daily. Never happed unless we asked for it and sometimes they didnt even come. Not great service at all.

Very quiet considering we were facing a major thoroughfare and on a lower floor this time. Housekeeping made our bed every day and kept the room looking great!

Staff was amazing and extremely accommodating to any extra needs we had and the rooms are very nice! The A/c in the room was definitely a blessing this trip and they have great a/c so that was amazing. Had a very great view of the Empire State Building and honestly it’s just in an incredible location, easy connections to pretty much any train line you need to get on or walking distance to all the big tourists spots in Times Square. Definitely enjoyed my stay here and definitely would recommend staying here. Loved every moment. Truly the staff are some of the nicest people you could ever meet too so that was another plus. Just an all around A+ stay. Thank you!
