• Andrew (8/5): Great hotel, good service, good value. - We stayed at the hotel on a few short occassions when passing through Paris. It's very good value for the level of quality. The service was good and responsive. Some rooms are smaller than others so if you will have big bags do ask for a larger room to make it comfortable. The only suggestions I have for the hotel are i) get new irons the current ones leak and ii) think about capsule coffee machines in the room given your star rating! The neighbourhood is great - you can walk into Bastille and Le Marais in 20 minutes and it's very close to the metro to get anywhere in Paris. It's not as touristy as other parts of Paris which we appreciated. There are loads of bakeries, butchers, supermarkets, pastry shops, restaurants, etc. etc. within 200m of the hotel so you'll be spoiled for choice.

Breakfast had a nice selection for different needs and appropriate for stay. I would recommend to others. The only negative, no secure internet.
• Nina (10/5): - Das Hotel liegt in einer Seitenstraße und ist ruhig gelegen. Drumherum hat man jede Menge Restaurants, Cafés und Supermärkte. Für einen Städtetrip war es perfekt. Die U-Bahn Station ist auch so gut wie vor der Haustür und man kommt schnell überall hin
• Sabine (10/5): - tolle Lage in einem eher ruhigeren "Wohngebiet", trotzdem eine große Auswahl an Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants/ Bars in laufweite. Zu Metro und Bus nur wenige Minuten. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein (wie fast überall in Paris) aber stilvoll und modern eingerichtet, alles sauber und in sehr gutem Zustand. Ich werde sicherlich wieder kommen und kann einen Aufenthalt hier empfehlen.

• Hadiya (10/5): Pleasant stay for a solo traveler! - Very cute little hotel on a quiet street, but close to the Voltaire Metro. Loved the bathroom B&W decor, windows opened to a small courtyard. Staff was friendly. Ended up booking an extra night and they were very accommodating.

NEGATIVES - Thought it was rather pricey for the very small size of room. Paid GBP142 including breakfast per night, stayed 2 nights. In Room 501. Could only walk round our bed, very limited space for movement around room and for suitcase. Could only lie on the bed not freely walk round room. 1 of the smallest rooms we’ve ever stayed in around the world. Don’t think merits a 4* rating No mini Bar No fridge Maintenance not open x24 hours a day if required Eg when our AC was not working. No closed cupboard/hanging space, just mainly open shelving/open hanging rail. View from our room was a wall and darkish Our Air conditioning DID NOT work during our stay, so the room air was still and stuffy due to its small size, hence had an uncomfortable x2 sleeps. It was one of our requirements, so it’s a “breach of contract” as it’s mentioned on the booking website and we didn’t have it. Reported it on arrival in room and on several occasions to 5 different staff. Someone Must’ve checked it when we were out next day. Same Lady said it’s a thermostat issue On checkout AC still not working No compensation £ as goodwill given. Little empathy.Manager now ignoring our emails. Making out we’re the guilty party.

The room was perfectly satisfactory and was well cleaned each day, and the bed was comfortable. Only minor criticism was the disappointing view from our hotel window of a small courtyard area. On the whole the hotel was really good value for money.
• Graham (2/5): - Very disappointed in my stay here. The room we paid for included a King bed as listed on the expedia site as well as their property site. THERE WAS ALSO NO AIR CONDITIONING in our bedroom even though we were promised such and the staff did not seem to care. We had to book multiple different reservations due to a glitch in their website, we were told we had to move rooms so we packed up to do as such just for someone else to tell us this was no longer necessary. Very unorganized and rude staff. Would appreciate some sort of refund for the bedroom but they did not seem interested in such.

• Benjamin (10/5): - La Voltaire is wonderful! Our quiet room had a very comfortable king bed, a waterfall shower, a huge tub, and plenty of hot water; room-darkening shades, too. There were many options for breakfast, and all of them were lovely. Staff were uniformly helpful. We had no trouble using train and Metro to get from CDG to the hotel, and from the hotel to Gare du Nord - and during our stay, we walked everywhere, safely, covering territory from Notre Dame to Belleville. We would happily return to New Hotel La Voltaire.

Je remonte l'information, le personnel reconnait l'erreur mais pas de changement possible mais la promesse d'une prise en charge. Au moment du départ on me promet un remboursement, j'envoie un mail pour relancer... aucune reponse. C'est juste impensable de payer pour un service qui ne correspond pas et d'être ignoré à ce point face à une réclamation plus que légitime !
• SJ (8/5): Comfy, pleasant stay. - Lovely modern rooms, spotlessly clean. Space minimal, but often that’s the case in Paris. Beds comfy although memory foam mattresses are not necessarily my choice as they get too hot imo. Great location. Would recommend staying in the 11th Arr every time.

We arrived at just before midnight and informed them of this and after waiting a little while they showed us to our room. Very helpful. Only downside was the room was a lot smaller than the pictures portrayed. That was a shame, we might have upgraded if we had known it was so small. But lovely, clean, great bathroom.

Oui une chambre où il faut que l’on sépare les lit nous même (bon il est tard ok) et qui est à côté de l’ascenseur… au second étage … du bruits toute la nuit et dès que quelqu’un rentre ou part et parle … 2 nuits pas au niveau

Chambre refaite côté cour très calme, très bonne literie, salle de douche très confortable, bureau, plateau de courtoisie avec bouilloire. Les possibilités de rangement dans la chambre sont toutefois peu nombreuses, ce qui m'a obligé à laisser mes affaires dans ma valise. Petit déjeuner complet, tout est très bon. Mention spéciale aux confitures et au thé Kusmi. Je ne peux que vivement recommander cet hôtel à 2 pas de la mairie du 11e et du métro Voltaire !

• Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel with decent price - Interior is very modern and simple. Most favorite part was wood floor and white bed linen for me. That shows the cleaness of the hotel. Furthermore, the location of this hotel is really great. It's really easy to find good restaurant, cafe and supermarket. And marais district is not far from here. Highly recommend this place :)
• Verified traveler (8/5): Fint hotel, tæt på metro - Fint hotel som ligger tæt ved Metro, Voltaire. Værelse 502 var lille, men hyggeligt indrettet og rent. Sengene knirker meget. Morgenmaden er fin, men dyr i forhold til udvalget.

• Su Hyun (4/5): The room for the hobbit. - The size of the room was horrible. The twin room was less than a small room. It fits two beds, and that’s it. You literally can not sit anywhere than the beds. The distance between your foot on the bed and the wall is around 30cm, and you should walk on to reach the tiny restroom. I will not recommend this teeny tiny room to people who want to trip together with friends or family. Only one person good at coping with tight, closed, and non-airy spaces can use this kind of space. It was an unpleasant experience.

• Saghi (4/5): Not a 4 star hotel - I don’t recommend. This hotel doesn’t merit 4 stars. The service is a basic 3 at it best. The hotel design is nice but the room’s are extremely small even for paris you can touch your bed as you open the door! The staff are cold and not welcoming but they do thei job, nothing more. The breakfast was already included in my offer by hotels.com if it wasn’t have never payed for it, it’s all store bought and the staff actually come with store bough bread and orange jus in order to refill, many cafes in the area will give you much better breakfast for 16€.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Nice rooms, but did not like being lied to. - Nice hotel, clean, and updated- room was great. My grievance lies around the fact that the elevator was broken- which I did not see in the listing or I probably would have booked any of the myriad of hotels nearby. By no means are we entitled or fussy guests, but what actually irritated me was not the fact that the elevator was broken and we would have to climb 5 flights of stairs- it was that the concierge was not honest at check in. He said it wasn’t really a problem and would be fixed within a few hours. Upon closer inspection, we could see that the elevator have clearly been out of commission for some time based on the age of clear tape over the buttons, and the peeling sign on the elevator, as well as the laminated placards left in all guests rooms indicating the issue. I can understand and accept that technology can break down- and I’d be entirely forgiving of it in my review- but I don’t appreciate being deliberately misinformed as an insult to my intelligence. The elevator was obviously not fixed during our stay. In my estimation, the appropriate course of action would have been to just apologize that the elevator was out of order, have an orderly carry out bags up ( which they did- full credit there), and offer some kind of gesture of good will- a larger room that is unnocupied anyway, or free breakfast. Just my humble two cents.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was nice and clean, when i booked this hotel it states breakfast was included on arrival receptionist stated we had to pay a $16 a day fee. Other then that our stay was nice
• Frances (10/5): - It was a very cozy and comfortable room; perfect for a solo traveler who doesn’t like to be bothered by overly enthusiastic hotel staff. It’s a great get in, go see the city, get back, sleep and do it again the next day. Only things to improve: The amenities available weren’t explained / offered at check-in, and the different information pieces in the room had conflicting info for some of them. Also, the cream and coffee was not replenished when the room was cleaned. But overall, it was still a great stay. I would stay again.
• Penny (8/5): Nice place to stay next to Metro Stop - Nice room, bed could be firmer. I wanted a bathtub but not available. They tried. Only 4 rooms with tubs. The staff was extremely helpful. Reminds me, I left my prescription glasses and sunglasses there. I need to email them so they can mail them back to the states. English speaking staff. I would definitely stay here again.

• Sudhir (10/5): - Nice hotel and friendly staff. Location is great, close to metro and bunch of interesting places to eat even if late. Can be a little noisy at times and small rooms but we were aware of it when booking.

• Chung Chun (8/5): Pretty and new refurbished hotel - The hotel has been refurbished and new so condition was pleasant. Unfortunately the lift was broken during our stay so getting up and down with baggage was quite difficult. Not sure if an attempt was made to fix the lift. The room was quite small so not much space if you have full open type baggage. Overall it was nice to stay in a good condition and clean hotel in Paris. Location of the hotel was quality, really convenient.
• Ben (8/5): - Located in a great area, close to multiple Metro lines and easy to walk to many bars and restaurants. The hotel was newly renovated and still feels pretty fresh and clean. As with most old Paris hotels the rooms are very small and there is some street noise and sound travels a bit inside. I'd happily stay here again on my next trip to the city.
• Eduardo (8/5): A new and well located hotel - The hotel is new and well located, with a very nice person at the reception. The room is a bit small, but the quality of the room compensates for the lack of space. The price is very reasonable.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Stolen item - Unfortunately, a personal electronic device was stolen from our room. We escalated the issue to the front desk and management. The hotels response was to question the cleaning staff in front of us and ask them if they stole the item. No compensation, no credit, and no apology. I was promised a follow up call after we checked out but never received one. Terrible customer service.
