Guest Reviews
- JOSEPH JAMES (6/5): Convenient - It was an okay stay, it was a convenient stay . Well the room was poorly maintained. Toilet didn’t flush very well the pillowcases and towels were in VERY poor condition! The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked. The bedside tables were falling apart .There was an ironing left board under the bed with no cover on it and no iron provided. There was no refrigerator in the room. There was an air-conditioner in the room but no remote. The amenities were very basic. It wouldn’t be somewhere I would stay again.
- Glenn (8/5): It was what it was. Cheap (clean) and cheerful. -
- Marie (10/5): Enjoyable stay at Wanstead Hotel - Perfectly location, great value for money. Staff very helpful and accommodated making room available earlier than check in time. Plenty of clean towels and hot water. Bed linen beautiful crisp and clean. I found no faults.
- Oseias (9/5): A great place to stay and value for money - It is great location and comfortable
- Paweł (8/5): Great, convenient location! - It was absolutely perfect for the money Some of the tile floors in the bathroom were damaged, but that wasn’t that big of an issue
- Bowey (10/5): Cracking hotel for the price 😁 - Friendly staff and a very quiet location. Stayed there for 3 nights.
- Holly (1/5): Would never stay here again it’s disgusting - Nothing it was absolutely disgusting It was disgraceful random small black hairs all over the beds dirts stains all over the walls fag burns all on window one room was so hot couldn’t stay in it with my daughter gave us instant headache asked for help at reception and got told they can’t do anything radiator in the room was broken that’s why it was so hot and the smell through out the whole hotel was horrid
- Matheus (1/5): dirty - good price It was the worst hotel experience I've ever had while traveling! Everything was very dirty, and the person who attended to us was extremely rude! I had read negative reviews about the hotel, but I thought it wouldn't be this bad. How wrong I was! Avoid this place, the streets were cleaner than the room, I don't know ir they don't know what is a clean place or if they know and don't care, I can't say what option is worst, but the dirty was so clear that I can't assume they didn't notice it when gave us the room
- Tina (5/5): Ok - It was ok. Everything you needed The room stank of smoke

- veonica (8/5): Parking available onsite - Location and it was clean and tidy Nothing
- Michelle (8/5): -
- Meghan (8/5): Value for money - Close to the train station and places to eat and drink. Clean but run down. On street parking on Sundays- limited spaces outside but appears to be a parking permit system for midweek? East to drive to from up north with limited traffic. Helpful friendly staff. The sink was cracked and the room generally felt run down
- Dr siraz (5/5): Stayed before, poor experience this time, so not staying there again...sorry. - Ive stayed before and reason for selection is it is close to friends I was visiting. Previously, ive stayed in second floor and rooms been ok for the price. This time I paid £73, and was allocated room one on ground floor, which was very small. I was offered room four, a triple but it smelt due to someone either smoking in room, or room not cleaned properly. So we declined that room, and back to room one, as all other rooms full. The bathroom needed tiles replacing, and the shower needed upgrading.

- Shirley (10/5): Thankyou for lovely stay helping my daughter out with her new baby in the next road so perfect location - Friendly , warm cosy clean environment everything you need for short stay . Nothing good value
- Yvette (4/5): Care and attention needed to above. - No food provided. Location ok Staff walked in bedroom using her key without knocking, no lock on bathroom door or toilet holder, toilet seat unsafe, loose tile in bathroom, no key to bathroom window to open it, no spoon to stir hot drinks. Knife provided to stir, insufficient cups and drinking glass, tv mounted on wall too low, loose legs on bedside table, toilet papers stacked on the floor.
- Lucy (1/5): - How close it was to the venue that I needed to be at The room was absolutely gross and stank of urine
- Richard (6/5): Below average - Good ventilation. The showerhead was dirty and not fully functional and the beds had strange red stains on them and the bathroom tiles were also broken and you can easily cut your foot on them
- Alexandros (5/5): -
- Eniola (2/5): - Leak in the sealing, carpet stains, room smelt, tiles in the bathroom lifting
- Laura (10/5): -
- paul (8/5): Comfortable, warm, clean and quiet stay. - Close to where we needed to be. Comfy bed, great shower. Staff member not exactly welcoming, no tea spoons in the room, wonky/loose bedside units.
- Steve Chilvers (4/5): Stayed out of necessity, not choice - Room was spacious
Did the basics, nothing more Staff were not rude, but far from approachable
Although not needed, the fact this establishment charges £5 for air conditioning is appalling

- andrew (6/5): Comfortable and in good location but some facilities could be better with no real additional effort - Comfortable beds in quite a large room. Useful to have a parking space outside. Fairly good location for shops and access into London on the underground. There was only one mug and glass in the room which was for 2/3 people although more were provided when we asked. Room had strange metal tables which were coming apart but overall comfortable though not cheap at £100 per night for 2 people.
- Welch (2/5): Extremely poor value for money - Not much Very poorly maintained. Dirty curtains . Mould round base of shower tray . No fire escape details in room . Poor quality furniture . Very small room. Frayed towels.
- Nancie (8/5): Nice easy stay would come again - Clean easy nice cosy Bit dusty furniture noisey
- Khalid (5/5): Average - Parking Beds are metal frame and makes sound when ever you sit.
- Johannes (7/5): -
- Ben (7/5): -
- Piliponis (4/5): -
- Miller (7/5): - Convenient for main routes into and through London No-one there to receive us. No parking available in front of hotel.
- Susiehuhana (10/5): - Best nights sleep we've had in ages. Great shower and bathroom. Nothing
- Maroof (7/5): it was claean and comfort - no
- Lauren (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): - Conveniently located close to 3 tube stations. Easy check in. Room was exactly as expected. Good value compared to similar places that are more central. Our criteria was 3 separate beds, ensuite, parking, some nearby for breakfast (there was a whetherspoons) and close to a tube station. It ticked all the boxes.
- Oana Elena (6/5): -
- Randle (6/5): - It's a quiet road, bed was comfortable. TV, shower, kettle, basic but fine Room is a bit scruffy and not particularly clean, not really worth £80 at all!
- Sinan (8/5): - Clean and quiet Quite
- Gaz (8/5): Good value for the price - Ideal close 10 minute walk to the tube
- louise (3/5): - Reception area modern and clean Room was filthy. Towels were ripped. Bed noisy and could see springs coming through even with the thin topper.
Hadn’t been hoovered at all. Curtains had what looked like bogies in them.
Didn’t stay here we actually left
Room like a shoe box.
- Samuel (2/5): Bad facilities, unclean. - Staff and location Cleanliness - used medication on the floor, generally dirty and food over the floors.
Facilities - bad. Shower leaking / dripping causing noise overnight
Bed very uncomfortable and insanitary.
Used as a base whilst working an event arrived late, left early, so easier to make do as quick turn around.
- Braithwaite (7/5): - The beds were very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- bulli (9/5): -
- cmmh (8/5): -
- Maria (3/5): - It was well placed for the city of London crem as came for a funeral The other guests were noisy, kept banging doors and stomping around whilst I was trying to sleep. I would have preferred to have been in an upstairs room, ie no one above me and at the rear of the property, so I wouldn't have had the front light shining over/under the curtains or heard the front door being opened/closed most of the night. The linen and towels were not great and the room/furniture needs an update. Also didn't appreciate that whilst I was out at a friends funeral, someone entered my room, emptying bins etc?! My husband and I run a guest house in North Devon and we never enter anyone's room, unless there is a problem that needs fixing or they ask for help, like how to use the tv or the shower?
Deluso
- Claire (3/5): Unpleasant - Nothing The lady who runs the hotel is very rude. Our key didn't work. She told me I need to learn how to use a key. Then she told me I had bent the key. The mattress was very lumpy and uncomfortable. There is no parking. We had to park at the other end of the road. If that space hadn't been available, we don't know where we would have parked.
- Jack (10/5): - Simple but perfect for a quick stay. Had free tea and coffee and an iron. Hot shower. Very friendly staff. Off road parking. Would recommend.
- Lynne (8/5): - It was reachable from the train station by the underground & then the bus. They let us check in early and leave our bags. They cleaned the room daily. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. There was heat/Aircon and we had access to the common area with microwave, sink, and fridge. There was very little space to put our clothes and items.
The bathroom was tiny and needed to be cleaned, especially in the shower
- bee (3/5): -
- Danail (10/5): -
- Sofia (1/5): DISGUSTING!- Avoid at all costs – this is NOT a hotel - I honestly don’t know where to start with how bad this place was.
From the moment we arrived, we were met with a rude and unwelcoming reception. It set the tone for what turned out to be one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. The common areas were filthy, and it only got worse once we entered the room.
The walls and bed sheets were stained, the floor was filthy, and there was dust everywhere, even though we were told the room had been cleaned — highly doubtful. The shower was mucky, and the bedding was clearly old and overused. There were broken, bent hangers, a TV with no remote, and an iron and board that were covered in dust and completely unusable.
The room was stifling hot, and we were told we had to pay extra for air conditioning, which is ridiculous given the already overpriced rate. And don’t expect peace and quiet — the walls are paper-thin, and we were kept up all night by neighbours screaming and smashing things.
We seriously considered leaving as soon as we checked in. The place calls itself a hotel, but honestly, you’re better off staying in a proper hostel — at least you know what to expect there.
Absolutely not worth the money. I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere.
- Grady (7/5): - It was fine. It did what it said on the tin. It was clean, I was able to rest.
- Sanna (5/5): Too expensive for what it is shouldn’t be more then 50 - . No shampoo bodywash
Was too hot in the room
Too cold in the washroom
- Lars (6/5): -
- Holly (4/5): - Good location but the room was very hot with no working air con, the room had two beds but only one was made with no spare bedding, the pillows were awful and bedding was clean but stained, beds were very creaky, none of the small lights worked, all bedside tables were fighting for their life to stay upright, nowhere to put clothes, no soap or shower gel in the shower, and as for the towels - see the photo! Didn’t smell but could be cleaner, host was friendly however. Would not stay again.
- Toni (2/5): Parking ok but rooms very unclean - room smelt of drugs on arrival - Parking Hotel really poor standard.
Metal bed kept creaking all night - sheets were ripped.
Carpet not hoovered - shower / toilet filthy
- Sinan (8/5): - Clean quality good stuff
- Gregory (10/5): - Polite staff, nice location lovely size rooms.
- Eleanor (7/5): -
- Richard (10/5): - Great value for money
