Used towels with hair all over them, used soap in the shower with mold, the sink water was over pressurized, and the only 2 pillows on the bed were flat and small. But on the bright side they had a cool light in the room for ambience.

Daniel (2/5): Stay Away if you like comfort and safety.... - I travel a lot for work and stay at motels often to help save money. Its usually for one night, so no big deal. The rooms at Starlight are comfortable and clean, my only complaint being the cardboard thin pillows. The pillows (I kid you not) where at most 2 inches thick each. The bigger concern? SAFETY. One, when I checked in, rather than checking for my hotels.com reservation, the lady at the front desk assumed I was a John who needed the room for a few hours for a hookup. Which, I'm annoyed to say was the room next to me. They had plenty a good time as the guy next to me had several loud ladies over all night. Then there was the homeless guy. Throughout the evening he walked the property banging on doors, yelling at people and even setting things on fire in the parking lot. At one point I called the lady at the front desk and told her "hey, there is a fire in the parking lot" and she said "its OK - that guy is a frequent guest." I tried finding a hotel nearby with rooms at that point... but no luck. So I decided to truck it out. 11pm - the owner shows up for a hot minute and kicks the guy off the property. That lasts about 2 minutes. 8am - The homeless guy is chasing a family with two young kids to their car waving a bottle at them and screaming. The hotel owners and front desk did nothing. Don't stay here if you value comfort or safety. Wish I was making this up.

G368FOsarahd (2/5): A nightmare - Extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel. My husband and daughter booked a room here, and it was utterly unkept and gross. When I called to request a refund due to the unacceptable conditions, I was met with appalling customer service. The woman at the front desk not only cussed and screamed at me but also pretended to not understand English or even what an email was. When she eventually called the supervisor on his cell phone, she rudely held her cell against the hotel phone for him to speak to me. However, he showed no professionalism, talking over me, and to top it off, she hung up on me mid-conversation. Highly don't recommend this place for anyone seeking a pleasant stay and decent customer service.
Josh (2/5): - Quite possibly the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. Blood on the shower curtain, floorboards lifted up, bathroom door kicked in and not even replaced just screwed back to the wall, front door wouldn't lock because it was so crooked and hanging off the hinge that it wouldn't fit, side tables not even cleaned, I can go on and on. Unfortunately due to our late arrival, 3:00 a.m., it was dark and we didn't see a lot of these things or we would have just slept in our car in the parking lot. Do not stay in this place if you value your health or your safety.

Some other person that checked in came back for his change which was not given to him and he had paid in cash. I was telling her that I needed hand towels and she said they were in the room and I told her that there were none. She should be fired never smiled and not friendly at all. I have stayed there several times in the past and never had a problem. She should not be in customer service at all.

Verified traveler (8/5): A nice place to stay - The room & stay were good & comfortable. I slept very well. Their policy list is pretty long. No visitors, no bikes, no pets, despite having hardwood flooring. I'm assuming it's to help keep them looking nice. I would definitely stay again.

Mohamed (4/5): - Good location but the room was too small and not very clean. The bathroom, too, was not clean. Nobody came to clean it on my second day there. No microwave. It was nice to see two water bottles and a small bag of chips, but one of the bottled water was open and it was evident someone had drunk from it. It was noisy as you could hear people screaming almost the whole time I was there. Internet access was inexistent. Check-in wasn't really friendly; it felt like I was being done a favor.
Juliee (4/5): - The property was dirty. First off it looked as if the laundry department did not put clean sheets when I was walked into the room I noticed hairs on the pillow cases. Not only this but the walls and the couch as well as bathroom were very dirty walls looked like they needed a good wipe down. I myself cleaned the room and when I left it looked clearer than when I booked the room. The staff was rude and service all together was bad would not recommend.
Laura (2/5): - Staff were rude, i made a phone call to ask them for a bottom room due to my son was special needs and needed a bottom room. Staff informed me that they could not accommodate me that i would have to see of there were any available rooms when i arrived. if i would have called them 2 days earlier i would have canceled the reservation. Fortunately for us there were more bottom rooms than top. They also said they did not have a handicap room. Well, again person on the phone lied, because there was one room for handicap people.. The place was shady and dirty everything was broken. Our toilet we had to flush 3 to 4 times before the water went down completely, the ice machine was broken. Our little coffee table was wobbly literally rocking back and forth People above us were walking back-and-forth all nightlong with yelling and screaming outside. People arguing, which was very frightening for me and my son. i will mever stay there again. I would mot recommend it to anyone with small.children or handicapped people

Shundria (4/5): You get what you pay for! - I knew that this wasn't a 5 star hotel when I booked it, so there was no expectation of some wonder room with an ocean view. What we needed was a clean place to lay our heads for a quick overnight trip with the kids. The parking lot is VERY small and we drive an F150 so it was difficult to park. Check in was less than 5 mins so that was excellent. The room appeared clean at first glance, but my daughter moved the pillow on the bed and there was fresh blood all down the side of the pillow. Like bright red. There's no way that anyone that's cleaning could have missed that when making up that bed. We tossed the pillow in a corner and I covered the beds with our own sheets and pillows we always travel with. Thank God we brought them!!! We didn't have any other issues but the bathroom looked that it was a breeding ground for a debilitating disease so we chose not to touch anything other than using the toilet. If you're looking seedy but apparently safe, this is the place!
Lucy (4/5): Not clean - Everything looked “good” when we were showed the room , as soon as we got back from the beach we checked the bed and the blanket & sheets were all stained and smelled like pee. The walls were written on if you really stared at them after a while you could see the writing, besides there was alot of stains on walls , the floor was absolutely disgusting & shower curtain & ceiling had mold. The mattress was very thin and hard so were the small pillows. I do recommend using your very own sheets and pillows as we did. Oh & be prepared to call the receptionist before you go to bed since the people that were sleeping next door decided to play loud music until like 4am. Also we asked for a nonsmoking room and it seems like the people next door were smoking weed. Not that i mind the smell but we had our 2 yr old. Parking space is very limited. You can literally hear everything since the walls are very thin and also the light does come in through the door cracks & curtain. Overall, the cleanliness part was my dissatisfaction since I believe it was pretty pricey for the size of the room compared to other places. I will definitely do more research next time and avoid this place. Not clean at all. I guess it was okay since we literally only went there to shower & sleep

MINDY (10/5): - Sketchy but okay for a night. I had to jerry-rig the jacuzzi drain with saran wrap to make it work but it was a real highlight of my trip to feel like Al Pacino in Scarface. The mirrored walls around the hot tub were unnecessary though, as I do not need to see how fat I got recently lmao. Other reviews rag on cleanliness, and sure, they could throw a new coat of paint and swept under the bed, but who cares. Also, unlike other reviews, my stay was notable for the ABSENCE of any bed bugs so that was good lol.

The bed cover had holes in it and the sitting area table was unstable, but it is still a good value for the price. The little snack amenities in the room was a nice touch.

Maybe there is some rating padding going on. If I could give this hotel a 0 rating, I would. This hotel puts the "meth" in "meth hotel". Multiple guests asked me if I had any and my neighbors were awake and loud throughout the night. Watching TV, arguing, domestic violence. It got so bad I had to call the police. The front desk attendant was not helpful or around. I tried calling and visiting the desk throughout the night most nights and they were absent or augmentative. The rooms themself were terrible, fist holes in the wall, bullet holes in the wall, missing paintings from frames. Definitely suspicious about bed bugs and the like.
Erick (4/5): Bedbugs problem. - Well first room they offered me had a broken door for the restroom, and second room they gave me felt nice at first, but I saw signs that they had bedbugs, so my partner and I left immediately after that. When I arrived home, I found two bedbugs on my cloths and to deal with it immediately. Not coming back again. I have a chronic illness and don’t want to risk my life here with bedbugs.

Eric (2/5): Disgusting. - Place was dirty upon arrival. Towels had hair embedded in them, Shower curtain was moldy, floor was disgusting, bed had hair and smudges in it. Food smeared wall as well. The guy yelling at his sex partner at 3am was a new experience for my son. I think they rent rooms by the hour honestly.
Timothy (4/5): - Poorly maintained. Stained walls, aged A/C unit, mold smell, grimy door. The worn condition of the room casts doubt on how well it is cleaned.

Aaron (6/5): Good place! Manager is rude though. - The manager of this place has a really bad attitude. I couldn’t hear what he was saying and he started being very rude when I told him that. Overall, the motel itself was in great condition. The shower had very nice temperature and great pressure. I just wish the bed had more pillows. The walls were thin though and you can hear the neighbors, and the outside noises. But I give the motel a mediocre review. It is a nice place to stay if you need to be in LA for a concert or an event nearby.

Bill (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - Very dirty, bordering on disgusting. Front desk staff not at all helpful, even when awake. In the morning he was asleep on a cot in the office and asked me to come back later.
Natalie (2/5): - The rooms are not correctly advertised. I booked the better looking room which was listed as the smoking room. And when I got there I was put in a room that was totally different. At first I was like okay let's just make it work. The room was so gross that I couldn't stay in it unless I sanitized everything and even then I was like the room was so bad that there was no way I would get myself to feel comfortable enough to go to sleep in there. There was no way it had been cleaned prior to me arriving. It was so disgusting. The point of unacceptable was when I was cleaning the fridge (that didn't even work) I found thick layers of mold on the fridge. I went and I told the front desk. He switched my room after showing him I had booked the room that was nicer than this one and I showed him the pictures on the advertisement, the mold, the shower curtain that was being held up by a piece of cardboard, the food container that was on the ceiling over the bed??. He then tells me that I have to pay him and $20 cash to switch the room but the rooms were both listed for the same price.I started to sanitize all the surfaces covid-19. Not only was the room not repaired right it had mold thick mold covering the fridge which didn't even work anyway. . If you want While the man at the front desk was checking me into the room that was advertised as the "Smoking room"
Stephanie (2/5): Never again - We got to hotel. They booked over my reservation and told me there was nothing they could do.
Christopher (2/5): - This property was terrible and the service was worse. I got the room for my 76 year old grandmother, but it was not only filthy, it actually had an uncovered electrical socket. This room was literally dangerous. When I addressed the issue with the employee at the counter he was extremely rude and disrespectful. He refused to put me in contact with the manager and I had to literally argue with the man and refuse to leave before he gave me my refund. This place is disgusting and should not be in business. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
