• H4930DFemmar (10/5): 30th Wedding Anniversary trip - We spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Our room had a stunning view of the cathedral and the hotel is in a perfect city centre location. On our anniversary we were given sparkling wine and Sachertorte cake at breakfast, which was a nice touch. Also a heart shaped balloon and heart shaped sweets and decorations were left in our room with a lovely message. All the hotel staff were kind and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The airport transfer was worth having, our driver Marica was really good. All in all it was a great trip, Vienna is lovely and we very much hope to visit again one day.

Staff are welcoming, friendly and will assist in any way they can. Our room was fantastic. It faced the Cathedral, was exceptionally clean with every amenity. • W4535EIrobertl (10/5): Outstanding Anniversary Experience - I can't say enough good things about this hotel and the wonderful staff. We stayed there for three nights around our 34th anniversary, and the staff went above and beyond to make it a memorable time. They upgraded us to a room on the top floor with a private terrace, and gave us a free glass of sparkling wine, candy and a balloon when we walked in. The kitchen staff gave us little surprises at breakfast every day. They gave us a great restaurant recommendation on our last night. Everyone we encountered was warm, friendly, and wanted to ensure our stay was perfect. Which it was. The hotel itself is equally fantastic. Its location on Stephensplatz is in the middle of the city on a bustling and fun square, and within easy walking distance of most of the major attractions. The room was good-sized, particularly for a European hotel, and was very clean and comfortable. Even though it's in a busy area, it's quiet because the windows are soundproofed. The breakfast buffet is huge and outstanding, and the kitchen staff was friendly and helpful. This is a great place to stay, and if we ever go back to Vienna, we will certainly stay there.
• gilliandT6406EK (10/5): Best stay in Vienna - We had the most amazing time in Vienna and the Hotel Am Stephansplatz made our stay just that extra perfect. Location was central and it made going anywhere quite easy. We walked most of the time but the train/metro/buses and taxis were a stones throw away and very accessible. The hotel was at the heart of Vienna and right in front of the beautiful St. Stephen's Cathedral so there was always a buzz and life around the area. It was such a treat to be able to just step outside and have that wonderful view of one of the most iconic churches is Austria. The hotel room was absolutely lovely and very spacious. The bed and sofa were very comfortable and gave us the best night's sleep after all the walking and activities of the day. My pet peeve is dirty bathrooms so I was so happy to find that ours was always immaculate. All the amenities were quite modern and the extra touches of art and the books about Vienna in the room made it so special. Lastly, the staff were so friendly and helpful. There was always a smiling face greeting us at reception or the hallways when we encountered them. This trip is actually for my birthday but we didnt mention that in the booking, I was so surprised when we came back to our room one day and the hotel had prepared a small treat and a balloon for me. It was such a wonderful surprise. Overall, we are so happy and loved our stay and would recommend the hotel to everyone.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and VERY quiet - we were facing the cathedral and were blown away by the triple pane windows. Breakfast was also delicious, and the coffee was superb. Easy access to everything Vienna has to offer. I would definitely recommend staying here (and will be booking again for my next trip to Vienna!)

• douglasrB3135YO (2/5): Beware of a hidden fee /scam - I booked a room for two people with a king bed, so it was very surprising to be charged an additional fee for the second guest. A king room is typically advertised and priced for two people, and I have never encountered a situation where an extra charge applies in this way. What is most disappointing is that this policy was not clearly communicated during the booking process. Had this been transparent upfront, I would have absolutely considered booking a different hotel. Charging extra without clearly disclosing it feels misleading and creates a negative experience from the start. This lack of transparency has been frustrating and honestly not a great way to begin a vacation. I would strongly recommend that the property clearly disclose any per‑person pricing policies during booking to avoid confusion and disappointment for future guests. Overall, this experience left me feeling disappointed and misinformed.
• CurlieAl (10/5): The best hotel in Vienna - This was our second stay at The Boutique Hotel Am Stephanplatz and it was every bit as good as last time. Without question the best location, right in the heart of Vienna with a view over St Stephen’s cathedral. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, and everything is within a walkable distance from the hotel. A special mention for Ehab who runs the restaurant on the first floor and provides the best breakfast spread with a welcoming smile and wonderful service, and Diana at reception who went out of her way to help when my wife left something in our room when we left. A great place to stay. Our only regret is that we don't get to Vienna enough to stay there more often, but it’s a long way from Australia.

The Boutique Hotel has the Old Wold location with Modern amenities & Art throughout the building! Rooms were kept in pristine order. Front windows face the beautiful St Stephens church and the subway stop is steps from the door. High end shops and boutique restaurants surround the hotel and there is a cafe on every block. Staff set dinner reservations for us and even helped schedule a dentist visit for an emergency situation. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful room which looked directly onto the cathedral and square. The room was clean and very comfortable. We were celebrating a special occasion and the whole of the staff joined in - it was marvellous. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We had the most special time at this hotel. We stayed here at the end of January this year. It was a central location within walking distance of many sights and the metro was easily accessible to go to the palaces and further afield. • Crouchesontheroad (10/5): Outstanding Hotel - perfect location. - My wife and I chose to visit Vienna to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having read the on-line reviews we chose Hotel am Stephansplatz for our stay (5 days/ 4 nights). Immediately on arrival it was clear that we had made a good choice - the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were shown to our room (we opted for a Cathedral view - well worth the extra cost) and were, again, very impressed. The room was spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean, and the view was absolutely spectacular. All in all a very good start. We also opted for inclusive breakfast with our booking, again something I would suggest any readers of this review do. The choices/ selection of food - and quality - were of the highest order as were the service staff too. My wife particularly enjoyed the Avecado toast and my favourite was smoked salmon and cream cheese on rye bread, rest assured though, even the fussiest of eaters could find something. When the hotel team found out that it was our anniversary they wrote a card and made a small display while we were out. This was totally unexpected and greatly appreciated, it is little things like this that make the difference between good and outstanding. In summary, the hotel is always spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and there is genuinely nothing that I think could have been better - a true rarity. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the team for making our first trip to Vienna, and stay at Hotel am Stephansplatz, so special - we will see you all again when we come to visit ‘die Weihnachtsmarkte’ later this year. • 602freddier (10/5): Excellent - Very central location with plenty of shops, cafes, bars etc It is also right next to a metro stop so there’s no need to use a Hop On Hop Off bus, you can see all the sights by foot or use the metro which is very easy to negotiate. Vienna is a very walkable city. We stayed in a cathedral room with great views but excellent glazing so you won’t be disturbed by any bell ringing. The room was comfortable, modern and clean with Molton Brown products. The bed was large and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful, I would definitely return.

• Y1195CEpiak (10/5): What a gem - One of our absolute best hotel stays. It was so good that we alomst want to give a bad reviwe to keep this gem to our self. From pick-up at the airport until we had to leave, a 12/10 excperienc. Cathedral views at the breakfast says it all about location. The glass we got served at check-in and excelet transportation by a great driver/tourguide, were nice. But the best service was in the small details. The filing of water in the nesspresso maschine every day, the little hand writen notes with the morning coffee and for me personaly the warm glutenfree bread that appared at the table every breakfast was amasing. All the saff gave us the best service, but as a person who has worked in hospitality I need to mention Ehabs above and beyond service at the breakfast service. We are never gone stay anywhere else in Vienna.
• Apbichler (10/5): Amazing place to stay in the heart of Vienna! - Love this hotel. We had a Cathedral view room on the 5th floor for two nights and the view was amazing!! Picture is of the actual view out our window. Location is perfect for seeing the sights and the Red metro line is steps away if you want to go to Belvedere. Large room with a shower and a bath tub and separate toilet/WC. The hotel staff were incredibly warm, friendly and always willing to help. My wife was coming down with a cold and they gave us a get well basket with tea, honey, cough drops, tissues and fresh fruit. Breakfast was included in our stay and was more than ample. Something for everyone with the best hotel Coffee ive ever had, fresh squeezed juices and a special house made ginger shot each morning! We really couldn’t have asked for a better location and quality for the rate! Would stay again and high recommend for anyone traveling for a short stay in Vienna to maximize efficiency.

I will miss sipping lattes chatting to Ehab each morning! You CANNOT beat the location of this hotel. Rooms are super comfortable. Enough space to comfortably accommodate 2. Very clean. As long as you keep your windows shut there isn’t any noise pollution, and I’m a light sleeper and sensitive to noise.

The breakfast has been great each morning with a good selection of food. I really like the touch from the staff there with a little happy moment coffee card. The staff have been fantastic they even organised a little birthday gift for the room. Talking of the rooms they are cozy and perfect for a few days away. We had room 602 that is on the side of the hotel. But with the window open we could see the cathedral. The room was looked after perfectly by house keeping during our stay. All in all a great stay has been had by us 😊

• I9826TFkenb (10/5): My Favorite Place To Dream - I just received the "My Favorite Place to Dream" postcard which the Hotel provided and which I had the Hotel mail to me (as a courtesy of the Hotel) and I must now leave a review. This is a marvelous hotel! I was on a tour and they booked us into the Hotel Am Stephanplatz and I upgraded to a cathedral-view room on the 6th floor. It was a great room with a great view, and we could hear the bells chime and look over the Stephansplatz Christmas Markets. The Hotel staff, from the front desk, to the restaurant crew and the housekeeping team, were warm, friendly, helpful and prone to go out of their way rather than leave you the least bit short. The location was perfect for anything you could think of in the heart of Vienna's City Center (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). We visited all the local Christmas markets, we had coffee at any number of cafès, ate German, Italian, ramen and cheesecake, visited the Kunsthistoriches Museum, the Imperial Treasure and the Jewish Museum, and saw 2 music performances at St. Peters Church, all within easy walking distance of the hotel. And, the always excellent Vienna subway entrance is just around the corner from the Hotel. But, that does not tell you about the hotel. It is a nicely appointed hotel with a welcoming atmosphere, from candies on the front desk to the shoe shine machine as you exit/enter the lobby. Our room was spacious with a Julius Meinl espresso machine, which I took full advantage of as it was restocked with capsules each day when housekeeping visited to keep our room in the original state of pristine cleanliness. The buffet breakfast was possibly the best we had on during our 15-day tour of Munich, Salzburg, Wachau Valley and Vienna. The crew left a "Guten Morgen" card on our table each morning with a handwritten welcome sentiment, e.g., Thank you for celebrating Christmas with us! This is a no-brainer if you are visiting Vienna's City Center and desire the best boutique hotel accommodations. Cheers!
• JordanH455 (10/5): Awesome Vienna Hotel!!! - Excellent hotel in every way. Location was perfect, with the famous beautiful view of the St. Stephens Cathedral from the breakfast room. The room was nice, clean, moderns, with all the amenities and lots of storage space/nooks and crannies and spots to put 'my stuff'. The breakfast was excellent with great variety and quality. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and (convenient for me) fluent in English. If I had any complaints they would be very minor and this: the room heating level could not be controlled (it got too hot) and I had to sleep with the window open, with no covers; and the towels were very thin ... so: give the guests a better way to control room temperature and get new towels.

Everything was spotlessly clean, comfortable furnishings and a well stocked complimentary mini bar and snacks. The suite had a separate bedroom and living area and a good sized luxury bathroom with separate large shower. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming and would do anything for us. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful and we also had omelettes and eggs which were cooked to order. The hotel is right on Stephansplatz which was a great location for everything we wanted to do including great bars and restaurants Overall a wonderful few days at a wonderful hotel.
• slovell1965 (10/5): Believe the reviews - superb place to stay! - We have just returned from a long weekend in Vienna to celebrate my wife’s birthday and chose to stay at the Hotel am Stephansplatz. What a wonderful decision. From the moment we arrived the staff treated us like royalty, a glass of fizz while we checked in and a porter to bring our cases to the room and explain some of the unusual features. Our room looked like it had just been completed that day, absolutely spotless and unmarked. It felt as though we were the first to use it! We chose a room with a view of the cathedral opposite and it was a great decision, the French doors opened (albeit briefly due to the freezing weather) to provide a superb view of all directions around the square. The heated bathroom floor was very welcome during middle of the night visits. Security is well considered, the lift needs your room key scanned to summon it and only goes to your floor. A door which is locked at night and again requires your room key to open stops anyone getting beyond the lift to guest rooms. Breakfast in the first floor cafe was delicious with plenty of choice including omelettes made to order. One of the young ladies working in the cafe gave us some great suggestions for things to do, we followed her advice and weren’t disappointed! The hotel is advertised as the most centrally placed hotel in Vienna and this is certainly correct. Everything is accessible from here, and the entrance to the metro is at the side of the hotel if you are venturing further than you wish to walk. We will not only return to Vienna in the future but will certainly only consider the Hotel Am Stephansplatz as our destination. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
• Relax815517 (10/5): Wonderful hotel, wonderful stay - Have just returned from a 4-night stay at this hotel with my partner and we have only good things to say about it. It is located in the heart of Vienna with St Stephen's Cathedral right outside so whilst it's a busy location the hustle and bustle of the visitors isn't a problem. The entrance to the U-bahn (underground/metro) station is also right outside which gives you connections to the whole city and to the airport; we travelled in/out of the city by the City Airport Train (CAT) in @15mins and by U-bahn to the hotel. We used the excellent, clean, reliable, affordable Vienna public transport system a lot during our stay and it's a breath of fresh air after London. We had a cathedral view room, which was a bonus. The room was clean and well equipped, the bed was fabulously comfortable, and we weren't disturbed by any outside noise or the cathedral bells. There were a great shower and bath, plenty of storage space, reliable wi-fi and the room was serviced every day. Most importantly, the room was very warm given that it was at or below freezing outside each day we were there, with the underfloor bathroom heating being a special treat. The breakfast provided was delicious and offered a wide range of hot and cold foodstuffs and gave us a hearty start to each day's activities. The breakfast service was all provided by friendly staff (special mention to Angelina for her shopping and travel advice). In fact, all the staff with whom we had contact - housekeeping, reception, restaurant - were cheerful and helpful and made our stay very relaxed. It was my partner's birthday during our stay and, in response to my mentioning this ahead of our stay, the hotel put a birthday balloon, some sweets and a nice piece of sachertorte in our room on the day for her, which was a nice surprise and helped make her special day even more memorable, so thank you for that, hotel management. Although there is no bar within the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and bars within a short walk so probably something for everyone. There are also dozens of designer and top-end brand shops, if that's your bag (no pun intended). Being "downtown" in terms of location, prices aren't bargain cheap but (with a couple of exceptions) we found Vienna reasonably affordable overall. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone else thinking of visiting what is a beautiful city with plenty to see and do.

When I arrived, I felt like I walked into luxury. From the lobby, which is bright and cheerful with super comfy chairs and a complimentary drink, to the rooms which are spacious and energy efficient, this place was exactly what I was hoping for and then some. The front desk staff was incredible!! Kind, courteous, funny, and super personable. They are EXPERTS in customer service and genuinely care about their guests! Your room key is also your access to the elevator so they have safety well handled. It also controls the electricity in your room, so when your room key is not in its slot, the lights aren't on. That's a great thing! The bathroom was spacious and well cared for. The bed was cozy, the blanket was perfectly warm, and even though it was November, it felt great to let in a little fresh air from the window. Another plus for me, there was a clock with radio (hard to find in most hotels these days, which is very unfortunate). I got to listen to radio stations in Vienna, and I found the station playing American rock music. That was very cool and for me, an added bonus that made packing a little more fun! Thank you for the clock/radio in the room! It is very appreciated. The hotel and room were spotless and perfect. Often, hotels, even very nice ones tend to feel like...hotels. This one had the feeling and comfort of being at home and it was a pleasure to stay here. This hotel is also partnered with a laundry service and my clothes were again in good hands, returning intact and clean. It is very pricey, but a completely positive experience. This hotel is literally across from St. Stephen's, so you're in the heart of Vienna and in the middle of exactly where you want to be. Close to sightseeing, amazing food, and the train. I highly recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay here the next time I visit Vienna. My customer loyalty was won over the very first night.

• 884erikkac (10/5): Lovely Christmas Holiday at the Boutique Hotel Am Stephansplatz - Hotel: This is lovely hotel in a great location. It is located steps from St. Stephans Cathedral. The hotel is very clean and is in the Scandinavian style (clean, sleek and no visual clutter). Check in was effortless and a bell person will assist you with your bag(s). The elevators are operated by the key card so there are no buttons to push in the elevator. My room is sleek and clean with a kettle and a coffee maker. The bathroom is very clean and has a large shower with a door and the usual amenities. I’m in a single room, so there is one bathrobe, one towel, one face cloth and one hand towel. You might have to request extra if you want more than one on hand. As I am here on Christmas day, the hotel left a Christmas stocking full of goodies (body wash and snacks) on my door. It was such a lovely gesture. There is a nice breakfast, sausage (of course!) bacon, cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit and veg, hot and cold cereals, yogurt, plenty of breads and spreads, etc. There is also a cafe where you can order speciality coffee and tea drinks. There is also wine! Jahr is AMAZING and made my mornings so lovely. This is a great hotel in a great location with lovely people making your stay special. 10 out of 10, highly recommend and I will stay here again. Location: Stephansplatz is a great area to be in. You can get here on the underground trains. There is a bus stop for buses A1, A2 and A3, right around the corner from the hotel. The public transport is really good here and I was able to easily find and get to other Christmas markets in the city without a problem. There are a few trams within walking distance (1/2 a mile or so) as well. Stephansplatz is also a short walk to the Opera House and the Albertina. This is also where you will catch the Hop on Hop off buses. If you’re a Mozart fan like I am, the museum and his death house are nearby too. This entire area IS the St. Stephansplatz Christmas Market so if you’re coming for Christmas, this is the perfect location, however, as you might expect, IT IS CROWDED. VERY, VERY, CROWDED. The decorations are wonderful, just beautiful. There are many high end shops, restaurants (McDonalds to reservation only), cafes, souvenir shops, grocery stores and a DM very close by. Great location and great site seeing.

This hotel wasn’t #1 in 2014, but would have been in the top 10. Since then this establishment has undergone an outstanding renovation in room decor making it I see now #1 in Vienna. Everything you could wish for is provided. Thoughtful room treats and touches, a wonderful included breakfast with an abundance of choices, staff hospitality like no other, all make my stays here truly memorable and thoroughly enjoyable. I have previously booked suite rooms, but this stay is a wonderful Cathedral room. Just make sure your budget stretches for a room with Cathedral view, well worth it. You will not leave disappointed

• michelgriffin (2/5): Avoid this callous hotel - Be very careful if you stay in this hotel to avoid being tripped up by the 5cm step up into the corridor from your bedroom. My wife tripped on this invisible step, fell and broke her leg. She is still in hospital. I would normally give the hotel four stars for the comfort of its beds, the quality of the breakfasts and the warmly welcoming staff. But I am only giving them ONE star overall, because of their lamentable failure to react with any compassion to my wife's accident. When I suggested that, under the circumstances, they might let me prolong my stay, at a reduced rate, they offered to do so at either of their two hotels for half the normal rate. But they had no availabilty in either hotel for one of the nights in the following week. "No problem" I said. "Could you find me a room in a hotel near the hospital? The half-rate that you have offered me here will more than cover that." But they refused point blank. It was then that I realised that their idea of compensation for my wife's broken leg, entirely occasioned by their dangerous step, was that I should pay THEM money! Their rampant, callous commercialism leaves me speechless. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

We spent three nights here in December and booked a terrace room overlooking St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The room and views were spectacular, putting us right in the heart of the city with a perfect vantage point above it all. The festive touches were delightful. A small Christmas tree on the terrace and lights along the railing created a cozy holiday atmosphere. Even in winter, the hotel kindly provided chairs so we could sit outside, wrapped in our coats, soaking up the energy of the square below. I was celebrating my 50th birthday, and the hotel made it feel special with a birthday message, a balloon, and a delicious chocolate cake at breakfast. We were also welcomed with a glass of prosecco at check in, which was a very nice touch. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and breakfast was included with a good variety and quality. Despite overlooking one of the busiest areas in Vienna, the room was extremely well insulated and wonderfully quiet at night. I splurged on the terrace room for my birthday, and it was absolutely worth it. A fantastic hotel in an unbeatable location. I would certainly return and would happily stay here again.

The view of the church from our bedroom window was quite spectacular. The hotel is warm and cosy and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. It was my husband's birthday while we were staying at the hotel and our friends, who we were staying with, informed the waitress at breakfast of that fact. He was served the largest slice of Sachertorte and when we got back to our room in the afternoon there was a card, chocolates and a birthday balloon. Above and beyond what we could have expected.

• jac2014 (10/5): Wonderful experience at this hotel - We are frequent travelers as a family of 4 including a 6 year old and 11. Accommodations, safety and proximity to sites is import to us, not to mention comfort and customer service. This hotel fit every single one of those items on my checklist. The situation of the hotel across from St Stephen’s Cathedral was wonderful. Restaurants, cafes, museums and top notch shopping stores and boutiques made this a great travel experience. The hotel was modern and beautiful, but the staff made all the difference. The front desk staff was professional and helpful. Mío, Hannah, Diana, Celine as well the late night attendant Paul and all the rest whose names escape me were outstanding. The restaurant was superb with breakfast included valued at 35 Euro per person made it a great incentive and comfort. The restaurant staff especially, Samira and Constance as well as all the rest did their job incredibly. They accommodated us immediately and were quick to serve. All in all this is one hotel I will truly revisit and stay at on my next trip to Vienna. Definitely 5 stars! Thank you.

Breakfast was also included and it did not disappoint with an impressive choice on offer. The staff were very pleasant and attentive without being overbearing leading to a relaxing welcoming atmosphere. Couldn’t be in a more central location on Stephansplatz with unrivalled views of the Stephansdom. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Vienna to stay here.

Service was amazing throughout our stay throughout the hotel , we also were offered complimentary a glass of fizz upon checking in ! I’m a regular traveller and love attention to detail, quality & services, this hotel did not disappoint , the location is literally opposite st Stephen’s cathedral along with shops & eateries being plentiful , stunning views from the restaurant, honestly I’d have no hesitation recommending a stay here, thank you for a wonderful stay in your Beautiful hotel. We stayed in one of the suites and the separate seating area with free mini bar was most welcome after a day of sightseeing. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and received a balloon with some treats and a small wine glass and this was a lovely touch. The hotel is spotless and the rooms and beds extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the little health shots and range of different types of food available; including breakfast items cooked to order and a buffet. We had an amazing trip and hope to return. The transfer to and from the airport was also excellent.

Their staff, service, accommodations and location was the best we have ever experienced. The room was beautifully appointed and the view of the cathedral was magical! We look forward to returning at some point in the future.
• simoncO3002AN (10/5): Simply outstanding - We are on a 3 night stay. Our room looks out over Stephanplatz and the front of the cathedral, an amazing view (the photo is from our room). The triple glazed windows keep all the noise out but can be opened to let fresh air in. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. This has to be the best city hotel we have stayed in.
