• Anna (10/5): A fabulous gem in the heart of Hollywood - This is a fabulous hotel with an old school charm. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the location, great to explore Hollywood and an easy 10 minute Uber ride to Universal Studios. The kids loved the free ice cream, snacks and soda and swimming in the pool after a day exploring. If you go expecting 5* accommodation then you will be disappointed. Although the service is certainly 5* plus, parts of the hotel are showing their age but it was generally clean and it wouldn't put me off recommending this hotel as a great place to stay.
• justinbY9415SS (10/5): Fun for the family - Great experience. Staff is amazing. Kevin was working the front desk when we checked in, he was absolutely fantastic: friendly, funny and full of energy. He went the extra mile and assisted us with carrying our luggage up the stairs. The unlimited snacks and treats were a family hit. I even broke my diet to partake in the sugar party with the kids (17 and 19 so not really “kids”). Overall we had a blast, and yge experience at the magic castle did not disappoint either!

• stephaniecE6816YI (8/5): Hidden gem. - This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Hollywood.We took a local staycation about an hour from our home and stayed here with our two boys. It is conveniently located a 5 minute walk from the Chinese Theater and all of the "touristy" things Hollywood has to offer. It also is just far enough away to be its own relaxing little bubble, which we loved. The hotel is a total vibe with it being an old mid-century apartment complex, surrounding the center pool and communal area. Every staff member we met was super welcoming and friendly. Their daily breakfast was the usual continental breakfast with toast, cereal (6 choices), fruit, yogurt, coffee, etc. They have complimentary assorted snacks and a Coke Freestyle machine available 24 hours a day. They also have free soft serve ice cream cones available in the afternoon and next to the nicely heated pool is their famous "popsicle hotline". While swimming, you can pick up the red phone and in a minute out walks the white glove delivery of popsicles on a silver platter. My kids absolutely loved this! It is such a fun touch. The room was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable. Being an old building, there was a small wall AC unit that was kind of loud, but also the widows could be opened to allow in the cool night air. The room also had two fans you could use if needed and a small space heater available as well, in the closet. There was an actual fridge and kitchen with a stove in our room which was the smallest "studio" room. Our only complaint was the bathroom. It was was definitely old and could use some updating. The tub knobs leaked and squeaked and got water all over and there was really no counter space to be had. Also it would have been nice to have a bedside table or nightstand next to both beds. The only one was in the corner of the room and we ended up just putting a chair between the beds and using that as a makeshift table. These little things were definitely nothing that would keep us from coming back tough. The staff and the little touches were really what made this place for us! We will definitely be returning at some point.
• Inspiration278939 (10/5): Hidden Gem in Hollywood - I’ve been the magic castle many times and always heard that the hotel is a hidden gem. It’s right in the heart of Hollywood- easy walk to everything, rooms are big (actual apartments) and hospitality is amazing - champagne greeting, soft serve machine, popsicle hotline, unlimited snacks, etc. Shout out to Kevin the Front Desk Manager who learned all our names! I would definitely recommend to families traveling who want to explore Hollywood and surrounding areas.

Staff provide a wonderful welcome & great service. Manager Kevin was really helpful on arrival, & raced up the steps carrying both our very heavy bags! Our one bedroom apartment was really spacious, comfortable & the kitchen was great. Loved the balcony overlooking the pool, the excellent free breakfast & the self-serve ice cream machine! There's also free laundry & secure parking. Loved the place & will definitely return. Takes a bit of figuring out to get the shower working but everything was great!

• Quest599055 (10/5): Best family friendly hotel ever! - Aussies here! The staff here are all absolutely amazing! From the first moment you arrive, they make you feel so welcome. I travelled with a lady who lives with autism and extreme anxiety, and she blossomed here, because she felt safe to be herself. Everyone is genuinely kind, from the management to the maintenance guys to the cleaning staff. A wonderful atmosphere. Thank you Magic Castle for an unforgettable holiday!
• C7939TEjohng (10/5): Magic Castle never disappoints - If anyone is looking for a great little spot to call home while in LA, look no further than The Magic Castle Hotel . From check-in to check-out, this place ticks all the boxes. The free snacks, soda machine, soft serve and popsicle hotline get all the glory, but what I find most useful is the free laundry service. You bag up your dirty clothes in the bags provided, drop to the front desk, and this is where the magic happens. The amazing staff will wash, dry, fold and deliver your clothes back to your room for you to continue your journey (or on my most recent trip) pack into your suitcase for the trip home. Making one less thing you have to worry about when you get home. It is wrapped in paper which makes for easy packing. I cannot praise this service enough. It's the little things that make a huge difference. A trip to LA from Australia is not complete without a stay at The Magic Castle Hotel. Also, for those wanting to try the Australian delicacy, Vegemite, this is on the breakfast menu.

Small - only 43 rooms - but well appointed, very nicely maintained, and the staff is unbelievably nice. Lots of extra treats - from the popsicle hotline phone, complimentary breakfast, free snacks at the counter, and free soft serve ice cream and free Coca-Cola fountain drinks. Building is old, but very newly appointed. Even has full sized refrigerator and kitchen, with large sitting room. Bedroom is seperate and bathroom was well stocked and had a full sized tub/shower. Very Nice that it is walking distance to Hollywood Blvd, Chinese Theater. We parked our car in their covered parking lot, and walked everywhere. Book this treat of a hotel if you can get a reservation - very fun

• Meander36847407809 (10/5): Magical Stay with Warm Hospitality and Fun Perks! - We had such a wonderful stay at the Magic Castle Hotel, and our family truly didn’t want to leave after our week-long visit—it really felt like a magical place! From the moment we arrived, Kevin, the Front Desk Manager, made an incredible first impression. My wife said it was the best welcome she’s ever had, and I couldn’t agree more. Kevin’s warmth and attentiveness throughout our stay made us feel so valued, and we especially appreciated how he connected with our son every time we saw him. Our family looked forward to the daily breakfast, and our son was over the moon with the endless ice cream cones and snacks like Doritos. Alfonso, the magician, was a highlight of our visit. He was not only talented but also kind and engaging, bringing so much joy to our son and leaving our whole family amazed by his tricks. In fact, my son loved Alonso so much that we made sure to see him again on our last day. The pool was another favorite for us. We swam almost every day, and the water was just the right temperature—never too cold. We also appreciated the convenient on-site laundry facilities. Our room and the hotel itself felt cozy and homey. The location was perfect—central to everything we needed, from Universal Studios to grocery stores, In-N-Out, restaurants, and more. Plus, the hotel was quiet at night, which allowed us to rest peacefully after our busy days. Overall, this hotel provided not just comfort, but a lot of extra touches that made our stay memorable. We can’t wait to return!
• alisonmX1056YL (10/5): Awesome stay, the best staff - This is our second time staying at the magic castle hotel and we can’t recommend it enough. The amenities they provide are so fun and not something you get anywhere else and it’s just fun to be there in general. I want to shout out all the staff, every single person we have spoken to on the phone and in person have been the nicest, most helpful people ever. I had some issues with my most recent reservation (I had to change dates 2x to line up with availability at the magic castle) and they were swift in their help in finding the dates that worked for us while being so patient. I wish I got everyone’s names, but from our most recent stay, want to shout out Nicole who was so friendly in helping me answer last minute questions regarding our reservation.
• mogstaines (10/5): Great Experience! - We’ve stayed here twice and will visit again. The staff are genuinely glad to see you. The building is aging but don’t let that put you off. We travel a lot and this is the most welcoming place we’ve ever been. Free snacks, soft-serve ice cream and more. Obviously nice for families but just as great for adults. Unless you’re an insider, this is the only way to see the shows at the Magic Castle next door, which is a bucket list experience (be sure to book direct with the hotel for this, not a third party booking service). And for all of this experience, very reasonably priced.
• jboelter1 (10/5): The magic starts here with great service and accommodations! - We stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel since we were going to the Magic Castle that night and didn't want to have to drive home. I didn't know what to expect and the drive-way entry was somewhat confusing, but after that it was an absolutely amazing experience. The initial welcome and service at the front desk was incredible! The staff was so friendly and welcomed us with a glass of sparkling wine, then explained the property and showed us where everything was. We asked to change rooms as the first room was too close to the pool and ice machine, and they not only accommodated us (even though they were almost sold out that night), but they helped us carry our luggage to the new room. The room was very spacious and very clean, with a full kitchen and refrigerator. We were only staying 1 night, so we didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it looked very inviting. And a midnight snack of soft-serve ice cream? Priceless. We can't wait to visit again and bring our little girl so she can enjoy the pool, ice cream and "popsicle hotline" for on demand popsicles. Highly recommended for couples or families who want to have a great, fun stay in the heart of the Hollywood tourist area.

Free snacks, breakfast, laundry, popsicle hotline, coffee machine (espresso drinks!), soft serve machine. They even have a magician that comes a few times a week. This was the coolest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Kevin, the front desk manager, was the absolute best! So kind and accommodating!

So welcoming, helpful and always cheerful greeting us by name. Made all of us (4 yrs old to 74) so glad to be there. Grandkids loved swimming in the warm pool and free snaks/soft drinks/softserv was a hit. If you're on the bottom floor, or facing street, maybe pack earplugs? Definitely a repeat for us when in the area again. Suite room is comfortable and extra space with living/dining/stocked kitchen. Included Breakfast is continental and a nice selection too.

The units are in a 1940's apartment building built around a pool that is so fun! It is adorable. Rooms are spacious and clean. Champagne on arrival, free ice cream, sodas and snacks. You are in the heart of old Hollywood just blovks from Hollywood Blvd. Sit down by the pool and relax with a few free snacks.
• Kevin (10/5): The magic castle hotel really lives up to its name. - The staff were absolute superstars. The complementary Breakfast, Drinks, Snacks, ice cream,roaming magician and free laundry services were phenomenal. Watching the excitement of the kids in the 24hr heated pool order popsicles on the phone was so fun to watch. The location was excellent and we were lucky enough to dine at the magic castle and experience the incredible talent, shows and food. This property itself isn’t the fanciest hotel I’ve stayed in but the bed was super comfortable ( I like it super soft ) and the facilities and staff definitely made it the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Although It didn’t bother us, the property doesn’t have an elevator so if you struggle with stairs it might be an idea to ask for a room on the bottom floor.

Having a magician there to entertain the kids was just amazing! Staff engagement with the kids was next level!!! The furniture was old but in a way that it added to the charm of the place and was in no way a negative. We have all said this was our favourite accommodation out of the 19 places we stayed on during our holiday. We would all go back in a heartbeat 💓 The one and only negative i could put was no elevator but because everything else was so great it just didn't matter!!! So we essentially have no negatives at all 😃

The price was competitive but some other features made it a truly memorable stay and rare hotel find. The location is second to none - 100m walk from where you want to go on Hollywood Boulevard. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff were uniquely warm friendly and the family atmosphere was lovely. The included breakfast was very satisfying. But the unlimited free snacks, icecream, popsicles and hot and soft drinks were an amazingly unique feature for a hotel that make it a family treasure.

Some of the top reasons; We were greeted with champagne and sparkling cider depending on age upon arrival They have a complimentary laundry service and your laundry comes back in a cute little paper package with dried lavender on top The popsicle hotline was our kiddos favorite along with the frozen yogurt Cartoons and movie night was a blast Kevin and Breanna at the front desk were incredible hosts who ensured every need was met!!!! The rooms are spacious, spotless, and just a short walk from the main strip of Hollywood. That alone would have made it a great stay. But what sets this place apart are the little things: the thoughtful touches that transform this hotel into an experience. Free snacks and refreshments (yes, free. No $10 boxes of M&Ms here). A popsicle hotline by the pool: pick up the phone, request a popsicle, and moments later one of their staff delivers one to you. Speaking of the staff… The level of care, warmth, and attentiveness was on another level. They consistently went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely taken care of. It wasn’t just hospitality — it was magic. Highly, highly, highly recommended!

Our room was perfect! It was the most comfy sofa bed she had on our trip!! We felt like nothing was too hard and we were their focus and priority - everyone gets treated so well. Every staff member and the service culture is truly amazing. • Polsey9 (8/5): Great stay in LA - Stayed at the Magic Castle in November 25. As a travel professional I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels but this is the only hotel I’ve ever stayed at where snacks weren’t ridiculously overpriced but were FREE! Washing wasn’t $10 for a pair of jeans but also FREE (minimum stay applies). Ice cream, soda & coffee machine FREE! Our suite was huge with full kitchen, fridge, dining & lounge area. The pool was the perfect temperature & the location is perfect - just one block from Hollywood Boulevard. A few things are a little “retro” but what this hotel lacks in aesthetics it more than makes up for with absolutely top notch service & all the inclusions. I would not hesitate to stay here again & can highly recommend the Magic Castle Hotel

The breakfast was just right .nothing to heaving before a day of exploring LA. Hotel staff were amazing, arrived early in the morning so they kept our bags so we could go and explore, we took up the offer of breakfast as we just flew in on a 14 hour flight. Rooms were big enough for the family of 4, little outdated but when you get free laundry service, snacks, ice cream, drinks who cares -definitely saved some money. Would definitely stay here again for convenience and the friendly staff.

Loved the laundry service. But by far the favourite thing was the free snacks and popsicles and the swimming pool which I could easily see from our room. Hot Chocolate was popular with us! Also easy to get to Universal Studios. Staff arranged all our transport for other day trips. A great place. Stay here, you won’t regret it!
• Daydream561139 (10/5): The most comfortable hotel beds ever! - We had the pleasure of staying at the magic castle hotel during a quick last minute trip into town for a funeral. We picked it to try to make the trip a little better of a memory for the kids than just a sad time. The staff was amazing, the owner was in the lobby a couple of times and always made sure to greet us and ask us how our stay was going, the free snacks were so much fun for the kids! They loved being able to just go pick something out whenever they felt the need. The pool was nice and warm we love that it's heated. The beds were seriously the most soft, comfortable best night's sleep we've ever had in a hotel and we travel a lot. We can't wait until we have the opportunity to go stay there again.

Of course she booked The Magic Castle after hearing what I had to say and doing a little research! Then, she asked me to join her! I thought about it for around 2 seconds and said yes! Pleased to say that I’ll be staying for a whole week in July! If you’re considering booking this hotel just do it! You won’t regret it. I wasn’t even planning a USA trip, so you could say I’m going back just for the pleasure of staying at the hotel. Plus spending time with my cousin of course!

• MicLuo (10/5): Good Family Hotel with Great Service - Compared to hotels like the Fairmont, Four Seasons, or Ritz, I would say the service here is even better. Everyone here is incredibly friendly, but I especially want to highlight the night manager, Kevin—he truly goes above and beyond. He is the most friendly and helpful staff member I have ever encountered in any service industry, period. The location is excellent, with an easy walk to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and less than a 10-minute drive to Universal Studios. This is my kids’ favorite hotel—we stayed here last year, and they insisted we come back again this year. The rooms are large, and the only downside is its a bit dated. Highly recommend!

Lots of stairs - but there are some rooms on the ground floor that would likely be OK Noisy (from fellow guests and no sound proofing) Showing it's age - fit and finish, cracked floor tiles, not spotlessly clean But a fun experience overall!
• 542valeriec (10/5): Best Kept Secret - My husband and I stayed at the Magic Castle Hotel for our wedding Anniversary. We booked a packaged that granted us access to the Magic Castle, next door, for dinner and an evening of magic shows. The hotel is actually a 1950s apartment building and in a busy, but safe area. We had a very large, clean 1 bedroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen where folks staying a bit longer could cook meals. The king sized bed was very comfortable. And the couch in the living room was a comfy spot to watch tv on the large flat screen. At checkin we were greeted with a warm welcome and a glass of champagne. The entire staff was friendly and hospitable. The pool area is clean and stocked with floaties, life vests, goggles, towels and ice water to drink. You can even pick up the red phone to have popsicles delivered poolside. On top of that you may have unlimited snacks of all kinds, a soda fountain and an ice cream machine. I will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to couples and families. For folks from outside the area, you can walk down one block and be on Hollywood Blvd that has lots of touristy things to see. You can also take the Red Line to Universal Studios which is a very short subway train ride. And the subway/trains in LA are not crowded like in London or Paris. Everyone has a seat and you do not have to worry about pickpockets.

Before we could even spiral, the Magic Castle Hotel team looked at us with complete calm and said, “Don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of it.” And they truly did. They handled everything with the kind of genuine kindness, professionalism, and above-and-beyond hospitality you rarely see anymore. What could’ve been an extremely stressful start to our stay turned into a reminder of why this place is so special. They even joked that it was a beautiful day for a drive—because that’s just the Magic Castle way. This is the difference between the hospitality business and the hotel business, and Magic Castle is absolutely in the business of hospitality. Their service, their attitude, and their commitment to making guests feel cared for is unmatched. If you want a place that treats you like family—and proves it—I can’t recommend Magic Castle Hotel enough. Five stars, easily. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

• traceysH2124HU (10/5): A magical time at the Magic Castle Hotel - This hotel is better than going to Disneyland. Charming 3-story previous apartment complex (where Janis Joplin once lived) right down the street from the Hollywood Roosevelt (where Marilyn Monroe lived) and Madame Tussaud's and right next door to the Magic Castle itself, this neighborhood is steeped in Hollywood glamour. The hotel has rooms surrounding a small pool which is open 24 hours. There is a red "popsicle hotline" phone at the pool. Ring it and.hotel staff appear with a tray of cherry, orange, or raspberry popsicles. So you can relax in the pool with just the right water temp. I reserved a 1-bedroom suite for my niece and myself. It was spacious and airy with 2 beds in the bedroom and a pullout couch in the living room. I'm the mood for soft serve ice cream? Just head to the pool area and make one yourself right next to the ice machine which also has free drinks ...cherry lemonade anyone. The hotel has a free breakfast and thre is a list of free snacks you can pick up in the lobby ...chips, pretzels, rice krispie treats. No restaurant but we ordered pizza and sandwiches that were delivered in less than an hour by Uber eats. If you want to go out Hollywood Blvd is one block away Hotel staff are very welcoming. The rooms and grounds are kept as neat as a pin. And as a hotel guest you can get into the members only Magic Castle to dine and watch magic tricks All in all, a clear winner.

• Mbevacqua_1999 (10/5): Friendly, Comfortable Family Hotel in Center of Hollywood - As other reviews have noted, customer service is where this hotel shines. Not a moment went by where we didn't feel that the staff were genuinely happy to have us there and that they would go out of their way to make our stay as great as possible. It was the kind of friendly, homey service that perfectly complements the properties vibe. Neither is slick and polished, but they are both comfortable and welcoming. Part of this may be the clientele, the property definitely caters to family and kids. The kids are everywhere, usually taking full advantage of all the free chips, candy, ice cream and soda. Also, on a practical note, there are user photos on Tripadvisor of the bathrooms that look a little worse for wear, those are 10 years old, and they seem to have done a remodel since then. We were presently surprised at how clean and updated our room was.

• mdH8348ZS (10/5): Great Experience! - We took our adult kids to celebrate my birthday at the Magic Castle. We booked a two room suite for them and a king suite for ourselves. Our rooms overlooked the pool area. We had the loveliest time. The staff are just as wonderful, kind, helpful and personable as the other reviews have shared. Our rooms were available a bit early and so we checked in, walked to a nearby restaurant for lunch and then lounged at the pool, which was the perfect temp, while munching on free popsicles! The rooms were mid-century retro (old apartments) spacious and comfortable. It’s not a shiny modern hotel so don’t expect that, but it’s big on charm and the comforts of home. I can see how it would be a fantastic home base to explore LA/Hollywood from. The free snacks were a super fun bonus! Breakfast was a generous continental set up with pastries, yogurt, cereal, toast, cream cheese and more. There is a great coffee machine that makes up your favorite drink (lattes, flat whites, chai etc.) Free soft serve/soda machine available 24hrs. We noted it also has free laundry service for 2+day stays and machines available if you prefer to do your own. Beds were comfortable and the makeup mirrors had good lighting! Would absolutely stay here again-enjoy!

After experiencing some of the finest hospitality service around the world, I can confidently say this is my favorite hotel. The check in experience alone is exceptional. I will never forget one of the front desk agents walking out from behind the desk with champagne glasses saying “I just wanted to tell you how happy we are that you are here.” Unbelievable. This combined with the unlimited snacks and the novelty of the popsicle phone will always be one of my fondest memories. I just booked another stay with Shannon, she answered every one of my questions and was instrumental in creating a smooth and pulchritudinous guest experience for me. I have worked in hospitality for many years and I would say that Shannon is exactly the type of individual that is perfect for creating such a winsome environment. You have received a lifelong customer and I will be returning to this establishment 100%

• 350zanen (10/5): Not a luxury resort, but absolutely a five-star stay - This isn’t a fancy hotel. The rooms are basic, motel-style setups built around a central courtyard with a pool. Some require stairs to access, and it can be a little noisy during the day when families are swimming. But none of that took away from what turned out to be a truly special stay. The staff here goes above and beyond in every possible way. From a glass of champagne at check-in to complimentary laundry service, the hotel is full of little surprises that make you feel like a valued guest. There’s a free soft-serve machine, a 24/7 Coke Freestyle machine, fruit-infused water and sunscreen by the pool, and a coffee machine that’s always available with specialty drinks. Free snacks and candy are available at the lobby desk around the clock. The heated pool is open 24 hours a day, and there’s even a red phone labeled Popsicle Hotline. Pick it up and someone appears with white gloves and a tray of popsicles. It’s the kind of quirky fun this place is full of. Guests of the hotel are also invited to attend the world-famous Magic Castle next door, something that usually requires an exclusive invite from a member. It’s a rare chance to experience a one-of-a-kind night out, and that perk alone made staying here worthwhile. The team here are magicians in their own right. They create “moments of magic” every day. During our stay, we had a small issue with the TV streaming device in our room. The staff didn’t just try to fix it. They genuinely went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of in every possible way. A special shoutout to Andrea and Kevin, who were especially kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Their warmth and attention to detail made a big impression on us. This may not be a luxury resort, but it is something even better. It’s personal, it’s playful, and it’s filled with heart. We would absolutely stay here again. I would recommend this to families, couples, and solo travelers alike. As long as you aren’t pretentious about your digs, I promise you’ll be delightfully surprised by your stay.

We enjoyed the relaxed retro feel of the hotel and the customer service was absolutely fantastic. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Everyone made us feel welcome and special. The room was clean and comfortable. The shared public areas were spotless. We couldn’t believe all of the amenities. We were like kids in a candy store. We certainly took advantage of the Popsicle Hotline and the soft serve ice cream machine. Really, just ask for any of the complimentary snacks from the long list of options (available 24 hours), and it appears just like that. The hotel’s location is perfect - next door to the Magic Castle and just one block from Hollywood Blvd and the nearby attractions. Although we were sad when we left, we look forward to our next visit.

• Elizabeth (8/5): Cool old Hollywood hotel - This is an OLD Hollywood hotel. There’s nothing wrong with it. The price was fair. The people that ran the place fell over themselves to help you. It is walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl which is why we were there. Found out the hotel can book you a reservation to the show at The Magic Castle if you are a guest. Otherwise you have to know a member of the club or know a magician, which I do not. I’ll probably stay here again just to go to the show-a bucket list thing for me😊.
• BBB-MLJ (6/5): A Little Shabby but Young Families will like it. - It’s probably best if I list pro’s & con’s: Pro’s + Good location for Hollywood Boulevard + The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful + Free soda, snacks and ice cream is a nice touch (but clearly built into the cost) + Nice pool area + Good secure Parking + Children will like it + The breakfast was exactly to my taste. Con’s - It felt dirty. A wet mop is obviously used, so dirt and grime is just washed into the corners. Every corner of the bathroom had in-ground dirt. - Black mould on the bathroom ceiling and yellow stains around the toilet base. - AC sounds like an A380 taking off at LAX so you either can’t sleep because it’s too hot or because the AC is too noisy. - I suppose families get the pool side rooms. As an older couple were poked into a dark corner room with very little natural light. - I feel for the cost, the facilities are not up to standard. The cost clearly subsidises the snacks, drinks, ice creams etc (but not decorating and cleaning). - Overall, shabby at best.

• MissTropicalTravel (10/5): Magic by name, magic by nature - We stayed here as part of an incredible trip across the US, staying in LA, getting married in Vegas and then off to Florida. The Magic Castle was our first stop - we'd never been to LA before so, flying from the UK, it was a long journey. Added to that, AA had lost one of our cases, so we'd had to stay at LAX for hours after our flight to sort that, then get our hire car, with two children under 10. So, by the time we arrived at The Magic Castle, we were emotional, tired and confused! But wow, the welcome we received... the man and woman on reception were magical - they provided welcome drinks for us all and brought a huge tray of goodies to our room to celebrate our upcoming wedding! It was honestly the best welcome I'd ever received at the hotel, quite overwhelming in the best possible way. The room was huge, breakfast plentiful, kids loved relaxing at night in the pool, location was insane. A five minute walk to Walk of Stars. Car parking good, although very very tight to park in, so have to be a confident driver for that. The snacks, popsicle phone, drinks.... all these added touches is what makes The Magic Castle an unbelievable choice for families visiting Hollywood. One of my favourite forever memories now will be waking up on that first morning after all our travel chaos, opening the shutters in our room and seeing the blue sky, palm trees and yellow decor of the hotel and the morning buzz of the guests and staff below... The Magic Castle has left a real mark on me due to the incredible staff and the hotel and for that, I'll always be grateful. Even more grateful that, upon check-out, they had our lost case at reception waiting for us! Now that's some real magic right there.... keep doing what you're doing because you're a special team creating magical memories for life.

• arielloop (10/5): Truly Magical - We spent last weekend at the Magic Castle Hotel for my son's 11th birthday. After visiting last year, this was the only thing he wanted. No presents, no video games, just a night at the Magic Castle Hotel. I spoke to the manager Rod by email prior to our visit to work out some last minute scheduling kinks, so glad we were able to coordinate our visit so last minute. When we arrived, Gina recognized us immediately (which tickled my younger son in particular, he said it made him feel like a celebrity) and got us sorted out for our brunch reservation and parking quickly. We went over to the Magic Castle for some shows and brunch, and when walking back over the birthday boy said, "and now the fun begins." That's how great this place is--just above the Magic Castle to a preteen. The property clearly used to be an apartment complex, the rooms are all huge and have actual kitchens which is handy. We spent the next 24 hours living off of chips and popsicles, it's so much fun watching kids flex their autonomy and live like kings. We had a lot of fun making different combinations of ice cream sundaes and floats (my personal favorite was an orange popsicle dipped in vanilla ice cream while floating in the pool) and perfecting cannonballs. Kevin (our primary Oreo dealer) was amazing and kept the sugar flowing. Darren spent a good long while chatting with me and with my kids and telling us a bit about the history of the hotel, it was really cool to get to see behind the curtains a bit. Please see the attached photo of me living my best Hollywood life, featuring Darren himself. I think I'll have to write a book just so I can have this picture memorialized on a dust jacket. We can't wait to come back, this is such a fun overnight if you're local or stopping through town. It's a great central location if you're visiting from out of town and staying longer and want to take advantage of more of what Hollywood has to offer.
