Guest Reviews
- Amit (6/5): Pleasant -
- Brehm (10/5): Exceptional - I love this place. I even returned here when I came back to Hanoi a week later. Huge rooms. It’s nice here for half the price of smaller places. 100% recommend!
- Christopher (9/5): Superb -
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariam (8/5): Very good -
- Jan (10/5): Hidden gem. - The rooms are spacious, the staff is friendly and helps you with almost everything. The shower was warm and powerful. The bed was comfortable. And there is a watching machine and dryer you can use. It doesn't have the best location, but within 5 to 10 minutes walking you are in the middle of Hanoi Oldtown.
If I could add something to the room, this would be a shower curtain between the shower and the toilet. Just to prevent the toilet from getting wet. But this is just a minor inconvenience.
- Zuzana (8/5): Very good - The accomodation is on great location but it has some issues with water preasure. We had a room in 6th floor and when we arrived the shower was not running at all. The owner send his father to fix it, but the shower did not have much power. I do have long hair and it would not wash them out of the shampoo. Also the bathroom was little bit smelly. Otherwise the rest was ok, and if the water issue is going to be fixed we would visit this place again.
- Jamie (9/5): Superb - Location was very near the old town, great location to be able to get to most attractions we wanted to get to. Really friendly host. Plumbing issue on arrival meant I was moved to a different homestay for an evening - an unexpected hitch.
- Lou-mah (8/5): The rooms are big and quite comfortable. There is shared kitchen and a fridge so we enjoyed that. Location is great, ver -
- Mina (10/5): Tidy room, good location and nice host. I recommend it! -

- Masiya (8/5): Very good -
- Stein (9/5): great - really nice interior design & rooms -
- Hollyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nation (8/5): Nice place - Cool room, big and spacious with a hammock, good place to stay
- Vada (9/5): Superb - It’s clean and not far from old town It’s in the 5th floor! Quite shock in the beginning cause no lift but get used to it
- William (10/5): A lovely, stylish homestay. - Stylish room. Strong shower with hot water. Easy check in/out. Bed was quite hard, but comfy enough.
- Ying (9/5): Would recommend - Spacious room, looks exactly like on the pictures. Feels very comfortable and homey. Host helped me with the taxi driver who tried to scam me, very responsive, helped me take my very heavy suitcase up the fourth floor. Free water fountain. Generally very clean. Always had to cross a bridge to go to the old quarter that, location wise, was not ideal. Bed had some crumbs from the roof on it.
- Neil (4/5): Below average and wouldn’t recommend - Spacious room and nearly close to the old quarter.
Owner was pleasant Poor check in experience
10,000 stairs to our room
Found human toe skin peelings on the bed frame (owner was apologetic and had it cleaned immediately) Will save the booking.com users their stomachs and not post a photo of it
More expensive than previous hotel was stayed in in the middle of the old quarter with a lift, free breakfast, 24hr reception etc so poor value for money
Bed was harder than Fred Flintstone’s kitchen floor
- Gabriela (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was very responsive, the room was big, clean exactly like in the photos. we could use the washing machine for 50k VND.
- Jemma (8/5): great value accomodation to explore Hanoi. - great value, lots of space. comfortable with good air conditioning.
- Sara (8/5): Very good -
- Isabella (5/5): Nah - The room is very decorated nicely and very big! Every room is on a seperate floor up a narrow staircase. Hot water worked fine.
Nice to have a kitchen with all supplies to cook in* (although kitchen felt a bit grimy and wasn't cleaned or dish rack evwn emptied during our stay)
Good hot water.
Ordered transfer from airport with very kind driver* (although when we arrived at the hotel there was a list with cheaper prices, even specifying the time, we paid 80.000 dong more?) Hardest bed we have encountered in Asia after months of travelling, i have slept on softer carpets. WiFi very bad.
You could hear the large street and the people coming home/leaving in the staircase. We were on the fifth floor (out of 6 or 7) which was a hard climb.
Room and common areas could use a deep clean, we found black hairs in bathroom and bed.
Only met the owners brother for 2 minutes when checking in otherwise no staff to ask for anything. He only asked us to pay and gave no information otherwise.
No cleaning of the room (4 days) We ran out of toilet paper and had to buy our own.
We didn't get any information on how to check out since no one is there, so we had to text to ask.
Driver wasn't at agreed upon place in airport, and we had to text the owner who called him and he showed up after 10 minutes, then when we arrived at the guesthouse there wasn't anyone there, so we had to text again and was informed that the brother would come shortly.
There was a door and a gate you would have to lock with key and padlock every time when entering and leaving. This was frustrating and didn't allow more impromptu errands since it would be a hassle.
Also small thing, but I was excited for the hanging chair - but it was hung incorrectly at an awkward angle, making it impossible to use.
Not the guesthouse per say but: Be aware that there is a huge road between the guesthouse and the old town, you have to go on a bridge that crosses above the road, which reeks of urine. We also had two instances of intoxicated men being inappropriate and intimidating while crossing the bridge.
