Guest Reviews
- cuong (10/5): - walking near center
- Trudy (10/5): - The Akoya Saigin Central was in a fabulous location, easy walk to fabulous dining options that the staff very helpfully recommended. Walking distance to the Ben Thanh markets.
We stayed in a deluxe king room with balcony and the room had everything we needed, and was clean and tidy.
Breakfast buffet was pleasant, but the staff get the highest rating. They could not have been more helpful, organise Ng transport, recommending restaurants and general assistance. Would definitely stay again
- Khoa (10/5): - Great staffs and services. I will be back here.
- Raya (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good
- Desmond (10/5): - Great location. Staff was kind and helpful. They lent me a usb charger ans stored my bags even after checkout since i had a late flight, both free of charge.
Highly recommended.
- Steven (8/5): - Staff moved my bags without telling me, cockroaches in the rooms, strong smell of sewages from bathroom. Comfortable beds, great location
- Karen (10/5): - The property was clean, great location and offered a complimentary breakfast that we appreciated.
- Nang Bounmy (8/5): - Everything is fine.
- Kevin (10/5): - Nice property
- renatoboniao (10/5): Nice and cosy stay. Relaxing - Very convinient to stay. Food and market places are around nearby. Walking distance to most tourist atyractions. Restaurants nesrby mostly Michelin rated. Staff Yen very helpful. Made our navigation in the city easy. Room not expensive but cozy and comfortable. Room by the windows nice. Breakfasts were just enough. No more no less.
- David (8/5): - Located in the middle of District 1, everything was walkable. The streets pavements of HCMC at the moment are being upgraded, so there was a lot of construction happening, wear enclosed shoes until this has been finished. The staff were engaged with their guests and a special shoutout to Yen, she made our groups stay amazing. Her local knowledge and recommendations of eateries were insane. We dined at 3 Michelin starred restaurants whilst there, Food and Coffee were exceptional and inexpensive. With the sheer volume of accommodation in this area, Akoya's location to attractions, friendly staff and competitive pricing make this hotel a consideration for all mid tier travellers.
- Tammie Lyn (10/5): - Excellent hotel to stay with good customer service. We arrived an hour before check in but accomodated us right away. Thanks again to their wonderful front desk and the rest of the staff who were very helpful and approachable!
- William (8/5): - Staff were very welcoming and friendly đ. Everything was clean and tidy. All in all, a very good experience ..
- Aleksandra (10/5): - Beautiful hotel on the beach, spacious rooms
- Gabriel (8/5): - All the staff were exceptional and friendly, but I want to specifically mention Yen. She was awesome and made lots of great recommendations for local food!
Only reason I am giving a rating of 4 is because the shower wasn't the most pleasant to look at, with (what looked like) some mold on the floors/corners. Other than that, the room was clean and upkept daily.
Thank you Akoya!
- Monica (10/5): - Great syat
- martin (10/5): Akoya hotel - Right in the heart of Saigon. Good restaurant around the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Alan (10/5): Great location, friendly helpful staff - I couldnât recommend this hotel more. Itâs in a great location, the rooms had everything we needed and the staff were exceptional. As soon as we arrived the staff supported us with any questions and recommended local restaurants that were vegetarian friendly. We were even offered a breakfast grab bag to take to our early morning flight. The lady on the front desk ( I wished we had asked her name) was amazing .
- Verified traveler (10/5): Highly Recommend - Great place, great service, and friendly staff. 10 out of 10 I would recommend to anyone looking for clean friendly, convenient places.
- Paul (8/5): - Really well located hotel in District 1 near markets and many restaurants. Easy to walk to most areas.
Hotel basic but clean with friendly staff. Breakfast included. Good value.
- Tonya (10/5): - This hotel is great value in district 1. It was walkable to everything and the staff were helpful and friendly!
- Thuy (10/5): - Small but nice
- Simon (10/5): - Staff were very helpful
- Joseph (8/5): Nice stay - Great location, close to Independence Palace and Ben Thanh Market. Breakfast was good. Staff were very nice. Incredibly grateful for them setting up a ride from the airport and being able to check in early after traveling for about 29 hours. Would recommend.
- Tamar (8/5): - The hotel is in an excellent location, the room is spacious and the staff is extremely helpful.
- Tamar (10/5): - Very helpful staff, spacious room, comfortable beds, clean, great location
- Sarah (10/5): - Freindly, professional staff. Clean, modern rooms. Great location - easy walk to lots of attractions and restaurants. Would stay again.
- Ma Cristina (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Kathryn (8/5): - The location of this hotel is fantastic if you want to be in the heart of the city and within walking distance to the main pounts of interest.
We had a small issue with the first room we were given which the staff dealt with and moved us to a different room when one was available the following day.
The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. It is a 3 star hotel so isnt fancy but you can't fault the location.
All the staff were helpful but Yen was excellent. She gave us some useful information and recommendations for restaurants which we did try and were very happy with.
- Stephen (6/5): - Room was nice but the breakfast was terrible. Woman setting up the breakfast and stocking the food was brutal
- Maxime (10/5): - Would highly recommend. Pretty for mid-sized budget.
- Joselito (10/5): - Me and my wife enjoyed 6 days stay in this hotel. Centrally located in District 1 and close to everything like shops, bar , restaurants , bars and Ben than market. The staff and re nice and respectful and breakfast meals are the best like passion fruit and dragon fruits are our favourites. Would come back again with this hotel with fare price and highly recommend this place! Thank you Akoya hotel for takung good care if us!
- impartialspectator (10/5): Great location, very good room(s) and service, fab value - I can only repeat what most earlier commenters have already mentioned.
The location can't be beaten.
There seem to be two basic kinds of rooms (we stayed in both during one week of stay there, we extended our stay after the first night) - one has a window and a little balcony and you can have a smoke if you are so inclined, the other is windowless and also somewhat smaller. The one with window has a decent size, and even the ones without are fine. Both kinds of rooms are very well appointed (safe; tv with international news programs, US movies, etc.; kettle, with coffee, tea, and water supplied anew daily, a little fridge, a writing desk, an ACvery well working well, a shower that works well, ... ), the beds are comfy. Really, nothing to complain about.
The frontdesk is attentive and consistently helpful. Yen in particular is outstanding. I hope they pay her well beause she is definitely what makes this place stand out.
The girl that takes care of the brekkie room (which can get crowded) comes at times across a bit as a curmudgeon but she really is a hard and attentive worker. While we were staying there, on a couple of mornings the coffee machine did not work and/or did not work properly. (Confidential to management: how about installing a second coffee machine? ;-)) On the positive side, that gave us added incentive to go later in the morning to the fab Tonkin cafe more or less across the street.
The brekkie offerings are clearly above standard of anything comparable.
Given what we got, and given what we paid (80 AU dollars for the large room, 60 AU dollars for the small room), this was really an all-around good deal. I travel a lot and this is one of the best places in its category I ever had the pleasure to stay in.
Would definitely go back there if back in Sai Gon.
- Minh Tran (8/5): - The room is too small.
- R8865LJstevel (10/5): This place is a gem! - My wife and I arrived at this hotel after almost 24 hours of travel from California, about five hours before the published check in time, hoping we might be able to rest and recharge after our lengthy trip.
We were told that they would accommodate our request for an early check in, and only required thirty minutes to prepare our room, since the previous guests had just departed.
As tired as we were, we would have been satisfied with a clean, Motel 6 level of accommodation, but upon entering the room we were pleasantly surprised. This would be an easy four star room in the United States. The only thing comparable to a Motel 6 was the price.
I rarely write reviews, and do so only when I feel the need to whine about minor issues like things that donât work. But here, every single thing works! Bathrooms with issues annoy me, but the bathroom here was perfect, with apparently new fixtures, a bidet toilet, no cracks or stains anywhere, and hot water in the shower that I was able to run at the almost scalding temperature I think has to be available to qualify as a âhot showerâ.
But as nice as I found the room, what made me feel like we really lucked out in getting a room here was the level of service from the staff. Everyone here bent over backwards to make this tired, dusty old couple from the US feel like royalty.
The graceful young lady at the front desk, Yen, understood and spoke clear and understandable English, and seemed to make it her mission to make sure we were comfortable and safe. She was every bit as much of a concierge as a front desk clerk, and we greatly appreciated the care she provided to us.
So add my review to all of the other five star reviews that these folks have earned for themselves.
- Heath (10/5): - It was fantastic. Beautiful staff, great spot, room was great and so clean. Buffet breakfast was amazing. I canât recommend it enough.
- stavrosh2018 (8/5): Good Facilities, But Service Needs Improvement - Akoya Saigon Central Hotel has great facilities, but unfortunately, the service doesn't match up. I never received replies to my emails, and the front desk staff often gave inconsistent information. While the breakfast selection is nice for Japanese guests, it lacks options for Europeansânot even a simple croissant or cake. A bit disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Staff is very friendly
- timothy (8/5): - It was a fine hotel,ok for the price, the area is the best for things to do,probly stay again,
- Francis (10/5): - Nice room with all the amenities.
Super helpful staff.
Amazing breakfast included (unfortunately I am not hungry at that time)
But, again, it is the staff that is most impressive!
- ian (8/5): - Good hotel and I was well looked after.
Nice breakfast
- Norman (10/5): - Very clean. Staff very helpful. Great location close to walkable attractions.
- Georgina (10/5): - Staff here were really accomodating and so helpful, they went out of their way to make our stay great. The hotel is also in a really convenient location, within walking distance to a lot of the attractions
- Candy (10/5): - Perfect place for visiting the first time in Vietnam. And the staff was the best ever! Thank you for making the 5 nights the best.
- Jeff (10/5): - Love to stay over. Sooooo close to everything
- Brett (10/5): - Just what I needed. And, arriving late for an overnight stay, they allowed me a late checkout too.
- Surjit (10/5): - Stayed just for 1 night. Perfect for what I needed.
- Vuong-MTL (8/5): Affordable and comfortable stay - We stayed here 2 nights and booked a room with a balcony. The balcony was rather small (standing balcony). The room was nice and clean, we didn't have any issues. Breakfast was good but limited. A cool jazz bar called Coi Saigon (reservation required) is just across the street from the hotel. The staff was professional and courteous. Overall it's affordable, comfortable, and close to many main attractions (within walking distance, you'll save $ on the taxi). I would recommend this hotel.
- Michael (8/5): - Friendly and approachable staff
Good options for breakfast
- Wang Senk (10/5): - I arrived earlier , sometime at 12 o ' clock midnoon . The receptionist told me that they would clean-up any room as soon as possible .
Eventually , I did checked-in within half an hour !
It is good that the room provided an electric kettle for the client to boil the water .
However , I cannot apply my USB to re-charge my smart telephone .....
Thank you very much .
- Duc (10/5): Short tay in HCMC - Great location, service and comfortable stay with a very reasonable price!
- William (10/5): Good location, great staff - Staff was very good and helpful when I needed specific things for instance was checking into a different room on the last day of my stay and they called me in my old room to tell me when I could check into my new room
- JUNE (10/5): - Super clean, very kind staffs, good location, good breakfast and very reasonable price. Room didnât have window but didnât bother me. Love to stay again.
- Samuel (10/5): - Excellent hotel would stay here again no doubt. The position is A and everything required is given with extra help whenever needed.
- Mabel (10/5): - The staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is very walkable to food options even at night.
Except the walls are quite thin and unfortunately I could near the neighbors. Might not be a good idea for light sleepers.
- Eduardo (10/5): - Front staff is very helpful, breakfast was delicious.
- ThoSheBeButLittle (10/5): Great stay in District 1 - Such a lovely hotel.
We booked in the early hours of the morning, having had a dreadful experience elsewhere (see other reviews).
Arriving at 7am and asking if we could drop our bags off for later, the lovely receptionist offered to check us in straight away! We'd already decided to go and get coffee so said we'd come back later.
We came back around 11am and the room was prepared.
We had a room at the back of the hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean and well kept, with white marble style tiled floors. The room was well appointed with toiletries, tea and coffee and a safe, which was housed inside a further locked cupboard.
The air conditioning was quiet and we slept for a few hours before heading back out into Ho Chi Minh City.
The bathroom was spacious with a waterfall shower, along with the traditional shower, in a large walk-in shower unit. Again, everything was spotlessly clean.
Really can't fault this hotel. If you have mobility issues, it's worth noting that the entrance is up a set of steps, but once inside the hotel, there is a lift to all floors.
The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful.
It was a relief and a delight to stay somewhere so lovely and this hotel really restored our faith in Vietnam, after a rough start!
Definitely worth booking for a trip to Ho Chi Minh.
- Ly (10/5): - I like the location easy to walk around.service pretty good .very friendly.will be back when Iâm in hcm city
- Audrey (10/5): Akoya Saigon - Nice place to stay! -
The Akoya Saigon Central Hotel served as our oasis in Ho Chi Minh City. We had a balcony room, where we could look at the high rises in the background in our own space. The room was nice and appeared freshly renovated. The staff were very kind and wonderful to talk to. Anh gave us a list of handy phrases translated from English to Vietnamese. Yen gave us each night an Origami animal, containing an allegory to read before bed. Breakfast was very good. No rotation on Western food, but each morning we had a different Asian dish. Two chafing pans. One had rice or noodles, and the other a protein based dish (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, etc.).
We would stay again if in Ho Chi Minh City.
- Pablito (10/5): - Hotel rent is very cheap with complete amenities.
- Daniel (10/5): Great value, good location, friendly staff - Was very impressed with my 2 night stay. First time to Vietnam as solo traveller, this hotel I think is great value for money, good location in district 1, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room with aircon, wifi. 24 hr check in. Thank you akoya hotel team
- Anh (6/5): - Unexpected. Small room, noise and difficulty to catch a taxi. You have to pass throw the crow with so many motorcycles.
- Cliff (8/5): - Friendly staff at this hotel!
- paula (10/5): - Love everything about this hotel and this is the second time weâve stayed here. The staffs are fantastic and very helpful in everything we needed. We will return again if we return to Vietnam in the future.
- Paola (10/5): - The staff was really helpful and kind
They put my black clothes with the white towels in the laundry machine, but quickly found the solution.
I was out of the hotel the whole day but I like to have a clean bathroom and nice bed all good with this hotel
- Cav_on_tour_13 (8/5): Comfortable, nice breakfast, great location - Does not look much from the outside, but this place was fine. The location allows many sites to be accessed by walking..it's comfortable, clean, friendly staff and a nice buffet with different Asian dishes being cooked each day. We enjoyed our stay
- Christine (10/5): An easy walk to most things - The Akoya Saigon Central is perfectly located in District 1, and located close to the market as well as most of the museums you will have on your list of things to do.
The accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was available and adequate. Staff were courteous and helpful with a suggestion for a place to visit or eat.
- 981oswaldl (10/5): Best hotel in HCM District One! - I just recently stayed a week at Akoya and I'm blown away with the level of service I received. The staff are genuinely friendly, very helpful and made useful recommendations since it was my first time at HCM. I chose this hotel because of the location, which is only a few minutes away from quite a few major attractions, plus Saigon Centre Mall is also right there. The rooms are clean and the free breakfast is also fresh and delicious đ I highly recommend this hotel which also offers great value. A big shout out to their staff Joy, Le Dui, Anh, and specially Yen, who helped me with cell data and also went out of her way to help me find a local product I was looking for. I was well taken care of. Thank you Akoya.

- Ramesh (10/5): - Room was a decent size and very clean. Hotel was central and within walking distance of most sites and eating places.
Staff were helpful.
Breakfast was ok.
- Charles (10/5): Great location - Very neat boutique hotel. The best thing about the place is itâs centrally located. The breakfast is really good also!
- Allan (10/5): - This was an amazing stay, so moderately priced and so close to the main attractions 2 minutes walk to Benh Than markets, good stalls and super close to be picked up for attractions like Cu Chi tunnels and Mekong Delta tour.
We had an upgraded room with balcony and whilst our room was perfectly sized we did see others that might seem a bit smaller than people are used too. The price is perfect for the quality service and 24 hours reception we received.
- Bryan (6/5): - Noisy and leaking water air conditioner. Night staff was nice to lend me a fan, but unfortunately it wasn't a quiet one. Breakfast was delicious though not a lot of choices. I like the yogurt, stir-fried shrimps with vegetables. Room was very clean. Mattress was not so comfortable.
- Cynthia (10/5): Great hotel! - Great location. Very friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Rooms clean and modern.
- CAROLE (8/5): - .
- Lisa (10/5): - No issues at all with this stay! Incredibly close to all the main attractions and staff are really helpful. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast exceeded our expectations
- Andrew (8/5): - We stayed in the deluxe king room with balcony. This room was fine, not sure about other interior rooms. Location is good, short walk to most sites if you donât mind the heat. Breakfast just ok and the one coffee machine made it difficult to get coffee. The staff were very nice and helpful.
- Lana (10/5): - The location is amazing and the price can't be beat. The daily breakfast buffet was sufficient and the coffee was excellent! Quiet, clean and in a great area for walking to the highlights of Saigon.
- Patrick (10/5): - Property location and site is a walkable distance to all tourist sites. Convenience mini marts across from hotel. Love the bathroom and shower unit. Breakfast also good and staff great. Only downside and slight at that ( some noise at night) but is expected as close to restaurants and entertainment.
- GEE HENG (8/5): - The property room rate is reasonable for stay in this area. Room is clean and room service is good.
The entrance to hotel is not obvious and to access to the reception area, you have to carry your luggages up a flight of steps.
- Greg (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay! - The service and breakfast are excellent!
- Nora (10/5): - Convenient and very polite staff
- Lilian (10/5): - Food was great. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful..
- KIMNGUYEN (10/5): - Nice room
- Lorimendenhall (10/5): amazing location and value - Highly recommend this place!!! the location is fantastic, the gals at the front desk and super nice and helpful, the breakfast is limited but good (one Asian entry and some continental type things) plus nice fruits. The lobby is small but clean and pretty. Our room was adequate size and they give you a water each day. Price was great. We really liked it here!!!!
- 821carolynb (10/5): Top tier hospitality - Enjoyable stay at Akoya for my last days in Vietnam. Booked a budget room and it was more than comfortable for 3 nights - enough space, good bed, air conditioning. Best part was Yen at the front desk - beyond helpful and friendly, and some of the best hospitality I have experienced in two decades of travel. Extra stars just for her if I could!
- Ngan (4/5): A 2 stars hotel, location is good but so small - The hotel is so little , no service for bring our lugged up , the room so small no place to put my suitcase .
Not so clean , hair is fall all over the room
Location is good near Ben Thanh Market
Breakfast has a few food , but itâs ok
- claudine (10/5): - Great location! Restaurants, shops, the market is all right there. Great smaller hotel with excellent friendly service.
- Linda (10/5): - People were lovely. Breakfast was good. Had to queue for coffee maker. Room was comfortable.
- Jian (10/5): - Very helpful reception staff. Good location.
- Getaway711500 (10/5): Great for value and situation - Perfectly situated for walking to the main tourist attractions in HCM. Lots of local food as well as rooftop bars and the big market for shopping. We had a street front room with a little balcony hang for drying shoes and washing. Aircon was good. Service was awesome and breakfasts are excellent with a variety of meals changed daily. Lovely staff. So appreciated.
- Dana (10/5): Perfect - Everything was great! The hotel is well-located, quiet, clean, and comfortable. I will stay at the Akoya Saigono Central Hotel on my next visit.
- Hang (10/5): Good value hotel - Good value hotel w great location centrally located in Dustrict 1. Great breakfast!!!
- Cyrus (8/5): - The hotel was very central and we could walk to many interesting tourist sites. Good food options in area too.
- lynnsU3368IM (10/5): Excellent central hotel - We stayed here in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City. Easy access to everything but the hotel itself was brilliant. Very friendly, clean with a great breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Highly recommend this as a comfortable place to stay.
- Johnathon (10/5): - Staff is very welcoming and pleasant. Breakfast is simple, but good. Room was comfortable and clean.
- dennis (10/5): - Nice small hotel in great location
- Felicidad (10/5): - The location is in the center and very close to Ben Thanh Market, and lots of shops, and good restaurants as well. It a few minutes away from Saigon Square and Riverside. The staffs are very nice especially the concierge staff Vivian who helped us with everything we needed during our time there. She also recommended a few restaurants and they were all good. We booked a huge room that has the city view and we are not disappointed at all. Very spacious. We also like the fact that we were able to leave our luggages there when we went to Central Vietnam for a few days. We didnât have to bring all of our luggages since we have to come back to the hotel for another day anyway before going back to our country of residence. We will definitely stay here again.
- Scott (10/5): Our Favourite - This was our favourite hotel and stay in Vietnam. The breakfast and coffee were small but great quality. Good location. Close to everything. The staff very good and very helpful and flexible. Definitely recommend. Would stay there again.
- Tuan (10/5): - Clean,reasonable price
