Ripped bedsheets, toilets rife with cockroaches, owner has been telling me for a month he will refund me though he has been beating round the bush. Photos are extremely misleading please stay away, I stayed for a day couldn't stand and left!

• Behanam (10/5): Location - Being close to the city center and Taksim Square was very important to me, and Nostalgia Hostel solved this issue. In addition, the staff is nice and the terrace view is very beautiful. I recommend it for those looking for a short or long-term stay at an economical cost.

• yenit673 (10/5): Great - This place is kind of like a homeless shelter. The receptionist Mr. Abdullah took care of us. The rooms are stinky. With people not cleaning themselves. And beware, they do not refund your money. I will definitely come back here again......

• Joshua (2/5): - DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSTEL. They are allowing homeless people with government stipends to room here. Every room is loud at night and dirty. Homeless people are smoking in the halls all day and throughout the night. Lots of sick people. Other rooms are reserved for long stay tenants who are just as loud and noisy. Owners are lazy and do not clean anything. It is not safe. DO NOT COME HERE. If you are in Istanbul and need an affordable place to stay, there are plenty of other options.

• Begaiym (4/5): - This might have been one of the worst hostel experiences I have had. The female dorm room is nothing like in the pictures, it's very small and with people's suitcases there is barely space to walk. Not every bed has a plug, you might have to share it with the neighboring bed which might be taken, and no plugs in the common area as well. So if I didn't have my power bank I would have been screwed. The common area and the bathroom was very dirty. The shower and the toilet was in the same compartment, so the toilet was always wet. No toilet paper, no soap. The stuff didn't seem to care much if you have any issues or requests. I gave 2 stars for the location and the price. It's only 3-5 minutes away from Taksim square, and the price is really cheap. So if you need to stay close to the center and don't care much about comfort you can consider it.
• Fernando (2/5): Bad - the place is unsanitary, with bedbug infestation, dirty sheets, bathroom with visible sewage, no cleaning, high risk of contamination, I had to leave and look for another hostel, not even as a last resort, better to sleep on the floor of the airport which is cleaner

It was the worst experience ever. The property host even doesn’t will to talk and accept the complaints. Never try this hostel, photos don’t reflect the reality
• riop869 (2/5): Homeless shelter - I visited and paid for this place on May 2nd 2024, when I visited the room, it was really horrible oh my God. Please don't come to this place. It looks like a homeless shelter, with bad beds, and a bad smell. It is also located in an old building around a slum area.
• Neda (4/5): - Very friendly and well disposed staff but the hostel is still in preparation and the installations were precarious and messy, but then again it was very cheap.
• mikehowardc (6/5): Cheap, not so cheerful - Nostalji Hostel could be great, but it's not! It is close to Taxim Square, but the road is very steep. The area is very scruffy and so is the hostel. The building is old and dilapidated. The bathrooms particularly. In one small toile there is a shower but you have to sit on the toilet to use the shower. All the floors are old and look dirty I spite of the hard work of the cleaning ladies. The bedrooms are a good size but there are so many bunk beds crammed in that they feel very cramped. Breakfast is a bit of a joke. No butter and no knife to spread the triangle of processed cheese. Where to eat it? Not in the kitchen! I ate mine in a room equipped with two sofas. Unfortunately the sink was used for tooth brushing, gargling and clearing of nasal passages. Not very appetising. Most guests seem to use their beds! The hostel boasts a terrace and a cafe. The cafe is a takeaway with a phone number. The terrace is a very dirty roof which was used as a rubbish dump. The staff are great. Not so much English but they tried to make me feel welcome

Looking at these general comments, I would like to stay here and share my personal experience. The hotel is noteworthy in terms of cleanliness. Nothing is perfect. Of course, this place also has its shortcomings, but the hotel may be in a good condition in general.
