• Jenny (8/5): - Apartment is very central overlooking the attractive square. Easy to access on level from Pile gate. Kitchen well equipped and baker, market and supermarket handy in the square. As no cars, deliveries to local shops/market by trollies which are quite noisy on the paving. This is done early morning, market sets up at 6am.

• Dorothy (10/5): Great option!!!!!! - This property was awesome! It was so cool being right in the heart of the old city. With a view of the market and the Jesuit stairs, it felt like a dream come true. Two bedrooms, a bathroom with a washer/dryer and an ample kitchen/living room provided enough space for two teens and their grandparents. Close to a bakery and market for quick needs, surrounded by every type of restaurant one could want, this first floor, quiet apartment was a delight to stay in. The communication was excellent, it was easy to find and every need was met. You will certainly enjoy staying here if you choose this apartment. Our only wish was that there was a place to store luggage for a few hours until we left the city

• Caza (8/5): We enjoyed our stay! Not perfect but certainly a great time - Location was great but very noisy. If you are a light sleeper expect to be up very early with the bells and the noise from the merchants setting up. Bathroom needs an update. Based on past year’s reviews it seems to have been like that a while.
• Jillian (10/5): Great apartment in a fabulous location - Large main bedroom with brilliant view over the town square. Perfect location in the heart of Dubrovnik. No stairs, walk to everywhere. Second bedroom was quite small. But I'm aware we were in the heart of the old town and the apartment itself was very spacious and well-equipped.

• HAC911 (8/5): - The location was excellent and surprisingly quiet. We loved the beds and the bedding - all three of us slept well - and we thought that the towels were excellent. We only had breakfast at the apartment but found there was lots of crockery and cutlery. The bathroom needed a bit of attention, but the shower was fine and the water supply and temperature was excellent.

Jelena was super communicative and the apartment was very clean. Could have done with some more towels and the washing machine/drier didn't work that well for drying
• Catherine (10/5): Great stay in the heart of the old city. We had everything we needed and more! - Right in the heart of the old city, close to city walls, harbour, major sights. Great view from windows overlooking lively square with markets, cafes, restaurants and historic buildings. Very well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioner, full oven etc. Kitchen utensils well supplied. Attractively furnished and decorated. Sleeps four comfortably although one bedroom is a little small, but beds very comfortable. Very good communication and immediate help if required. Very clean and well maintained in a nice well-maintained building. Nothing at all. Bedroom with double bed is small, with bed taking up most of the space, but there is a good sized entry hall which accommodates suitcases so it was fine. The other bedroom with the two singles is very roomy and spacious. KItchen is a little cramped, but perfectly manageable with the four of us, and we really loved it all.

• Silvia (7/5): Pleno centro de Dubrovnik - Estaba en pleno centro, junto a Pile Gate, entrada principal de Dubrovnik. El apartamento tiene aire acondicionado y estaba situado en la primera planta. Las camas y almohadas perfectas y muy limpio. Nos facilitaron unas horas más de check out. Era algo ruidoso. Si duermes en el sofá cama o primera habitación a las 6am están montando un mercadillo justo debajo. La otra habitación también da la ventana encima de un restaurante, con lo que también hay bastante jaleo. El baño es bastante antiguo y solo tiene bañera, con lo que para personas mayores es imposible.

• Angela (7/5): Conviently located apartment in Old Town - all the amenities, right in the heart of the action - Great location in the Old Town so walking distance to all the sights, places to eat and shop. Full kitchen, aircon and washing machine/dryer were great. Beds were a little too hard for our liking. Bathroom shower leaked. As it overlooked the market square we had to keep our windows closed during the day and night to keep out the noise which didn’t die down till after midnight. Starting to look a bit old and worn in parts.

• Angela (9/5): We had a beautiful stay in Apartment Royale great location and family time together. - We loved the location of the property and the staff member who greeted us was very friendly. It was nice and clean and tidy. Felt small but just because we are used to wide open spaces. Our son found the couch bed very hard.

• Nancy (10/5): Everything you need and more! Excellent 😁 - The apartment looks right out onto a lovely little square in Old Town. Everything you need is at your door! We found the apartment spotless and also the kitchen was well stocked.
• Garry (8/5): Brilliant but needs work - The apartment was left open and the keys were on the table. The apartment is in a great location. However for the money you are paying it’s far from Royale. It needs a total refurb. But it is in the main square and that’s what counts it’s really all about the location. But it would be so much better with a little bit of TLC. The place needs a full renovation along with new furniture especially the kitchen table it literally wobbles every time you lean on it. Not enough towels but we got it sorted.
• Gary (9/5): Superb - The location is amazing. Sitting in the window seat and taking in the atmosphere, magical. When sleeping I would recommend keeping the windows and shutters closed, especially in the smaller bedroom, as it can get noisy outside. However, don't let that put you off.
• Ma. (10/5): Apartment in the middle of everything - Best Location. Right in the middle of the Old Town where restaurants, shops, and groceries abound. The apartment is clean with comfortable beds and warm blankets. The host is very welcoming and sent a representative to meet us and be acquainted with the apartment. There is still a flight of stairs to hurdle, which quite difficult for carrying heavy luggage.

Do get a little noise from the little market that sets up in the square each morning but for me that was not a problem as it’s nice to see how the locals go about their day.

• Vera (7/5): Good - The location is perfect, right in the center of the old town. Kitchen is well equipped and clean. Good communication with the owner. Smell in the bathroom. The apartment needs maintenance. Second bedroom is very small, like a closet. Loud until very late and from very early in the morning, but I guess it's coming together with the center location.
• Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location! It’s a couple of sidestreets off the main street (Stradun). The square below gives the apartment ample light, plus views of pedestrian activity, a church, and the famous Jesuit Staircase. There is a bakery on the floor below the apartment—perfect for fresh breakfast pastries. There are small shops with groceries nearby and restaurants all around, but not directly under the windows, so it’s quiet in the evenings. Well-furnished kitchen and a washing machine met all our needs. Shutters and AC gave us all the cool and quiet we needed for refreshing sleep. It was all good!

High ceilings made the place feel a lot bigger. great view on the square and could people watch from the windows. airconditioned and comfortable stay. good communication and could accommodate us with a crib and checkin slightly sooner. The market below and it was fantastic to stay in the old town. This property is in the flat part of town which is important. Our host met us on time and it was great to use the washing facilities as we are away for a while. I will definitely be back to stay at Apartment Royale. Nothing!
• Nannette (10/5): Fantastic location with everything we needed - Fantastic apartment in old town close to all the action. Great facilities and comfortable beds. It was great to look out the windows and view all the action. There was some noise heard at night which we loved it added to the atmosphere and didn’t disturb our sleep. Air conditioning was fantastic. We had close access to supermarkets, restaurants, bars, bakeries and all tourist spots. A flight of stairs to get into the apartment were manageable with suitcases. Nothing we love everything about it it was an experience being in old town

He was very helpful in retrieving my daughter's lost baggage from Belgrade airport. Loved our assistant, Beverly. She's Filipina, our country woman. She was also very helpful in retrieving the baggage. She knows every grocery, shop and tourist spot inside Dubrovnik Old Town. Everything was OK

Easily fitted our family of 5, and the 6’4” teenager loved the size of the sofa bed. Hot water for showers ran out the first morning after one person so everyone else had barely lukewarm showers. We turned up the water heater and it was much better for day 2!

• michael r (6/5): - Perfect location in old city at a reasonable price. However, this apt need a lot of care. The toilet paper holder was broken, the bathroom cabinets were all heavily chipped, the shower rod is is held up with a scrap of cloth and the shower curtain is old and heavily stained from use, the shower handle leaks heavily. The air conditioning filters need to be cleaned. The main door to the building doesn’t lock and the apt only has one small lock on it. Having said all this the view from bedroom and kitchen is GORGEOUS and you’re in the middle of the most beautiful part of the city. The communications were helpful and friendly.

The apartment also looks out onto the Gundulić Square, where there is a lovely market every morning until early afternoon. We found the energy and activity around us a delight, which made our holiday. The atmosphere was great and noise levels were so low, it did not interfere with our stay but added to it. Apartment clean and had all facilities we needed, with nice touches to make our stay homely . Jelena looked after us and recommended to us a place 2 mins away to store our luggage on the last day , so we could make the most of our in Dubrovnik. N/a

• Renee (10/5): - The apartment location in Old Town was close to everything- easy walk to restaurants, Stradum, Jesuit Steps (you can see them from the apartment) and a grocery store. From the kitchen and living room windows, we looked down onto the local farmers market. It was a treat to buy fruit for breakfast and local crafts. It was fun to people watch too. We stayed for 5 nights and the apartment was a perfect home base for exploring Dubrovnik.

The apartment came very well stocked and the hostess laid out routes we asked about on the map. Our complaint would be the cabinet in the bathroom needed repair.

Love to sit in the window and enjoy the view! Nice with washingmachine and dryer! We order pick up at the airport and that was nice! 45 euro.The owner and Jelena was serviceminded and let us get the apartment 4 hours before check-in, thank you! The apartment is old and need some renovating. To that price, so its not so good standard. But here you pay for the location! Please, get some better chairs and table in the kitchen, because we were afraid of sitting there! The bathroom is not so nice and the double bed is small...

Very comfy beds and good air conditioning We were grateful for the washing machine Bathroom is looking a bit shabby and the shutters could do with a bit of an overhaul. Table and chairs were a bit big for the space and needed shifting everytime you needed into the fridge or cutlery. A few bits and pieces like oil / pepper/ napkins and some better knives would have been most appreciated but not a deal breaker

Assez grand 2 ch., cuisine très bien équipée; facile à trouver près de la Gate Ploce et à 15 min de marche de la Pile Gate; communication facile avec l’agente; pas de marches pour s’y rendre contrairement à bien des airbnb; près de tous les restos et attraits touristiques; laveuse très pratique; lits assez confortables sauf les oreillers trop dures et gros; bémol : stationnement seulement à l’extérieur des Portes, taxi de l’aéroport 45 euros, et appartement bruyant tôt le matin à l’ouverture des restos et le soir car près des bars, rideau de douche à changer ! Mais en général satisfaisant pour un court séjour sauf pour le bruit. N’oubliez pas vos bouche-oreilles.

• Hawks_26 (6/5): Dubrovnik stay - The location of this apartment is right in the main part of the old town. This is great if you don't mind noise at festive times. The restaurants are very very close and the old town is lovely. The local buses leave regularly just outside the gate to take you to other parts of Dubrovnik. The kitchen has what you need, fridge, kettle and toaster. The apartment is lovely but it is old. The bathroom has a lot of mould. The shower uses a curtain which is not great and the shower itself wasn't very good. The kitchen table was so wonky it was almost unusable and the chairs were also wobbly and unsafe. A couple of the power points didn't work either. We still liked it but I won't rate it very well because of the shower and bad furniture.
• Annette (10/5): Excellent apartment - Location is the absolute best. Apartment is well equipped. Owner and agent were excellent to deal with. The best location also means it is noisy. The church bells, clock tower, the vendors setting up and taking down, and people talking are heard in the apartment. If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs will take care of that.
