Guest Reviews
- Peter (6/5): - Lite slitet.
- Jeff (8/5): - Place is really good for the price. Staff were amazing check out 15 min late cus my stomach was hurting and they were ok with it. They prove toiletries. Only bad thing its a bit of a walk from subway. Also they have stove and all but no pots and pans. Not a lot of room in living area.
Gute Raumaufteilung. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal!
- Steven (10/5): - Small but very comfortable and well equipped room, great use of space, very clean, excellent shower and bathroom, had fridge and freezer as well as a hotplate for basic cooking, good location in Ryogoku a few minutes away from the station and 15 minutes walk from Asakusa. Had convenient laundry facility.
- Maria Giuliana (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, extremely helpful and the space is comfortably clean.
- Madelene (6/5): - Bra hotell för familjen
- Jirath (10/5): - Very good place with local quiet area.
- Nathaniel (10/5): - This hotel was great, especially considering they had rooms for 4 people. The area was very clean and quiet. We used it as a hub to walk to Sensō-ji and Tokyo Skytree. If you prefer public transit there was a subway station very close. Staff was kind and helpful as well.
- Peter (10/5): - Great spot, beds were comfy, bathroom is great. Very little soundproofing inside the unit though.
- Pauline (10/5): - The staff and service at Hotel Arcens was exceptional - staff when above and beyond to accommodate our requests and even followed up with us after we checked out. The hotel is in a charming neighborhood within easy walking distance of transit as well as a number of attractions. Travellers who are tall should note that the beds are in lofted spaces with low ceiling heights, and those with mobility issues should note that there are the multiple level changes within the room.
- ?? (10/5): - clean and good
- hanhee (10/5): - Good
- Bruce (10/5): - Room was great for our family of four. Easy walk to transit.
- Tuan Hock (6/5): Inflexible and unaccomodating - The hotel is quite inflexible and expects us to sign in our guest and restrict to 30min visit. We are a family of 3 and have 1 friend visiting the room. Additionally, they could not accommodate a 15 min extension to check out from 10:00 am to 10:15am. Very disappointing! Lastly, no cleaning unless you stay for more than 5 days! We stayed for 4 days.
- Susan (10/5): 10++++ Hotel in shop-lined, quaint neighborhood. - Wonderful renovated home/hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. This is not the place to stay if you want the bright lights of Tokyo right outside your door, but we were looking to stay a quiet residential ryokan/hotel where even the Japanese would want to stay. Plus, when we did want the bright lights, the subway was right around the corner and we’re able to get everywhere quickly with no problem. Lisa at the front desk was a delight and so helpful in helping us navigate our first 48 hours in Japan. The bottom line is this is a 10++++ place if, in addition to the bright lights and historic sights, you want to walk quiet, shop-lined streets to get a better taste of how Japanese people really live. We even walked into a little street fair celebrating the national respect-for-the-aged holiday on our first night and the all Japanese families were encouraging us to jump into the celebrations! This place is a gem.
- Kwok Hung (8/5): -
- Lai Shan (10/5): Quality stay, helpful staff - Helpful staff, clean place, quality mattress. Will recommend the place to friends.
- Agustin (10/5): - Great hotel , loft style , not for tall people very low ceilings . Staff super friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location - value for money - Great little design hotel… compact rooms well distribution of space… good location 10 min walk from nearest metro.. would satay there again
- Soo Beom (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the rooms were very cute and our group of 6 fit very comfortably! the manager was very nice and polite greeting us and getting us settled. would definitely book again if traveling to Tokyo in a big group.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great space for groups, we only had 3 people but could have slept 6 total (4 twin beds and 2 chairs folded out into beds). Great shower, plenty of hot water. There is a coin laundry on the top floor. And service was (like most Japanese businesses) amazing. If I had to say something negative I'd mention there is a coffee/food station in the lobby but it was not open when we were there. Not a huge deal since there are 2 convenience stores within a block, may be an issue if you don't plan on leaving your room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mitsu was the best host. He was very pleasant to talk with and he actively looked for activities for us to do. We really enjoyed his company. The hotel itself is very modern. Caution to tall people, the ceilings are short for even me at 5'5" (in the bed areas). I would recommend this place if you do not need a breakfast bar or room service food. It looks like there is a kitchen, but it was out of service don't our visit. The bathroom had a little bit of mold or mildewy smell. We weren't sure where, but the bathroom might have been the culprit. Other than that, clean and very nice.
- Eli (10/5): - First off, this hotel is very stylish with beautiful modern architectural details. The room was well appointed with 4 very comfortable twin beds and 2 very comfortable fold out beds that doubles as a couch when not folded out. I travel with my wife and 3 kids and this room was the perfect size. It could even handle one more person if you are traveling with 4 children.
Second, the staff was helpful , friendly, and eager to assist in all of our needs.
Lastly, the location worked great for us since we had the Japan rail pass. We traveled to Nara , Kyoto, and Disneyland and found it convenient since the hotel is within walking distance to the Ryogoku Japan Rail station . You basically can get anywhere in Japan from this station ; just be sure to use google maps. Additionally, on our way to the rail station, we stopped at a fantastic bakery every morning for fresh baked pastries and breakfast. We ate a small feast for 1200 yen each morning. That’s the equivalent of $11.25 total cost for 5 people. My family and I have been fortunate to travel to many places and we all agreed this was the best hotel we have ever stayed at
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel building is new, and is located in a quiet neighborhood, altho the restaurants aren’t nearby.
Front desk staff ( owners?) are polite and helpful.
