• Nicola (10/5): A fabulous apartment right in the heart of the old town - We’ve just had 3 fabulous nights at Apartments Urbis. The location was absolutely amazing, so central and the street the building is on is full of restaurants and some bars. We couldn’t have chosen a better location if we’d tried. We loved opening the windows in the morning and listening to the city waking up. It was spacious and airy, very clean, great bathroom with a huge shower and a big bed. Paula our host was always on hand, she arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and kept checking in to see if we needed anything. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend Urbis.

• Salvatore (7/5): Location perfetta per vivere il centro storico - Struttura molto centrale, probabilmente più centrale di così è difficile trovare. Qualche piccola difficoltà legata all’accesso e alle scale, essendo situata nel centro storico ed entrando attraverso un ristorante, ma nel complesso posizione davvero eccellente. Mi verrebbe da dire qualcosa, ma preferisco anche non soffermarmici troppo perché alla fine si è sistemato tutto nel migliore dei modi. Forse, da italiano e per gusto personale, consiglierei solo un po’ più di manutenzione e maggiore attenzione ad alcuni piccoli dettagli.

Como punto de mejora es la altura de los utensilios y del microondas ( se necesita medir mas de 2mts para alcanzarlo) y la limpieza en la entrada del edificio. El resto muy bien!

• Tom (8/5): Central location, comfortable room. - The location of this property is in the heart of the restaurants for Dubrovnik old town. There are many options to choose from and it is very close to all of the main attractions. The room was bigger than the photos showed, we were happy to have some extra space. The air conditioner worked well as did the window shutters. The host was helpful and we were able to leave our bags in the hallway before we arrived and when we left on the last day. Communication was okay. We would stay here again. The nearby venues are quite loud, even being up a few floors you can hear them very clearly until very late (3-4am). We're used to road noise, but it was quite loud on the Friday night we were there. Dubrovnik is very hilly / steep with stairs. There is no way to get your bags into the property without using stairs and there is no elevator. To get in from the closest gate (Buza Gate) you must come down about 60 stairs that are very steep, then go up 2 flights of stairs into the property - not for elderly people.

• Dean (9/5): Fantastic Apartment with very central location - The apartment was really good and very comfortable for our 3 night stay. Very central location and when you’ve worked it out, you can get to the Stradun with very few steps if you turn left out of the apartments! The steps up to the property trying to haul 2 large suitcases - it was very much worth the effort though!

• Rangimarie (8/5): Ideal location in an incredible old town. - Spacious, comfortable room. Great location. Helpful communication from host (once in the apartment). Arrival instructions hadn’t been given prior to check in time. Handrail up the stairs wasn’t fully secure.
• JADE (7/5): Great location but apartment could be better - Location was excellent, right in the heart of Dubrovnik. We had a leak in the bathroom that was dealt with promptly and Paula checked in regularly over WhatsApp. Very noisy at night until about 2am. Property hadn’t been cleaned well; a dirty sponge had been left for us to use for the dishes, the rug under the bed was dirty and had loads of old hair in it, dishes in the cupboard hadn’t been cleaned. We never actually met ‘Paula’ but had to send a photo of our passports over WhatsApp, which I didn’t particularly like. Extra blanket and pillows were in the wardrobe but there was no bed linen for them. Old toiletries left in the bathroom from previous occupants made the bathroom look messy and we had no idea how long they’d been there.

Small kitchen was good to have. No Coffee, tea and no sharp knife. The location wasn’t easy to find. Communication on the passcode needs improvement.

Host Paula checked in several times and really cared that we had everything we needed. Would return to the old town and stay here again. We liked everything, we got two apartments for our group and really happy with both.

• NOZOMU (2/5): - It's understandable that the location is difficult to find, but the check-in process was extremely difficult! Even though I booked through Expedia, they said they wouldn't give me the key number unless I used "What's Up." Even when it was time to check in, I sent multiple contact messages from Expedia, but they never replied. In the end, I had a hard time checking in, which was very frustrating.

The host was not helpful, did not answer the phone, except the first time when she did not know who was calling. The pillows were poor quality, very old and the bedsheet too short for the bed. No cover on the quilt and no coffee.

One flight of stairs too much for me. Good exercise though. The handrails were a little scary as they were not secured to walls very well.

• Ross (8/5): Fantastic stay in Dubrovnik Old Town - Our stay In Dubrovnik Old town was fantastic. The location of the apartment was ideal, outside Dubrovnik old town the other apartments/hotels/villas can be up a climb as the landscape is quite mountainous. Whereas, after exploring, there is only one set of stairs to climb from the Main Street to get the apartment. Getting up from street level, to the apartment is about 30 steps that are quite steep but this never bothered us, but could be something to bear in mind. The host made sure we had everything we needed and checked in with us almost daily. The Apartment is above a busy street with some very nice restaurants on it, so if you come back early to get your head down you could hear it as background noise but it didn’t personally bother us. The check in time on Hotels.com states it’s 15:00 but it’s actually 16:00. Saying that the host messaged me and say we could check in at 15:00 as the room was ready. I would also contact the host first to get the check in details so the process is stress free and you know what you need to do. You receive email with a WhatsApp number on so you can start the communication there. All in all. loved the Apartment everything we needed for a base for 6 days in Dubrovnik 👌

• Tony (9/5): Lovely apartment in an unbeatable location. - The location was exceptional, just off the Main Street of the Old Town, surrounded by restaurants. Walk anywhere from the apartment. Paula was the perfect host, and incredibly helpful. Checked in several times to make sure everything was ok. At night it was a bit noisy until after midnight, but that is probably to be expected in the heart of the town.

• Janette (6/5): Let down by poor communication - Check in process was shambolic. If you book this place, make sure you get the entry code before you travel. The apartment is one of two accessed through a door 40 internal stairs up and the handrails are wobbly. The host’s phone number is on the door, but that’s only of use if you actually know which apartment you’re going to as there are several in the building. Check in time is 16:00, not 15:00 as stated by Hotels.com. The airport shuttle drop off at Ploče Gate which is not too far to get to the apartment. The location of the property is ideal, right in the middle of the old town. If you walk to either end of the street there are fewer steps to get to the Stradun. Loads of restaurants on the doorstep. Convenient to walk to the cable car, or get onto the walls. It’s close to the harbour. The apartment was clean and the bed comfy. Only 2 pillows though. The shower was good. There wasn’t much noise, despite it being on a lively street. The aircon worked and the apartment was as pictured. The microwave isn’t going to be used by anyone under 6ft tall though.

Unfortunately didn’t realise how steep Dubrovnik was and therefore how many steps to the apartment. contact with the key holder was difficult as it was through wots app and at that point we didn’t have the internet we had to rely on a local cafe to help.

The host, Paula, kept in touch via WhatsApp throughout our stay and was very helpful. Loved our stay ❤️ The 40 steps from the street up to our room we're ok for us but could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues
• Arlene (8/5): Very good - Although it wasn’t the room in the pictures with a good view that I was expecting (the one with the yellow chair in their main post) the unit we got was nice and comfortable. Location was great! Just make sure if you have lots of luggage to use the Ploce gate to enter the Old town (less stairs). View was of the alley and building across, nothing special. The carpet that the bed was on needs a thorough cleaning. The lounger across from the bed had crumbs on it so when I first sat on it I could feel them under my legs.

• Debbie (4/5): - The apartment itself was clean and comfortable. However access to the property is unsafe and the description of the accommodation does not match the reality. The hand rails on one side were unstable and on the other not fully attached to the wall. The stairs need repair, repair to these types os stone stairs is possible you see it all over. The host didn't see an issue there saying that's the way Dubrovnik is, apartments in Split we have used have much better access and maintenanceis tip top, that being an older city not sure its age that is the problem. Do not access the property as the host says through Buza gate go to Pile Gate it reduces steps to the apartments significantly to just 5 steps. We were not given this advice despite stating mobility challenges. Hotels.com have been advised the access is poor along with the description. The maintenance is an issue just be really careful.

• Michelle (10/5): Fabulous apartment for exploring Dubrovnik. - Fantastically located, spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and shower good pressure and hot water tank made it easy tonight have hot water when needed. We didn’t cook but did use the table and chairs for takeaway so it was nice to have in room. Could walk to all major attractions very easily. We got bus from ferry port to Pile gate and walked to apartment. On our way home we got airport transfer from Ploce Gate and that was easy too! We also walked to Baja beach in 10 mins and was easy to get to cable car! The apartment itself is exactly as described and I liked it all. One small improvement would be in the instructions for finding it - we discovered after following the given instructions and struggling up stairs on narrow streets to the street where apartment was located that had we gone a few further along the pathway was MUCH easier. So definitely use Zlatarska ul. as point of entry.

• Glenda (9/5): Delightful Dubrovnik - Beautiful apartment, comfortable and modern. Great location. Host was very easy to contact. Was a bit tricky to locate the room but the host helped us. There are some stairs and a bit noisy at night but that is just part of staying in the old town.

The only downside is the surrounding area can be noisy when trying to sleep but this didn’t bother us too much!

• Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay here! - Shocking level of communication in advance, despite two unanswered requests for clarity sent in good time, leaving me standing on my own in a dark street late in the evening, in the rain. Very stressful. I then had to make international calls to chase down how to get into the apartment, instead of them trying to contact me to help me. I was even 'told' to download an app in order to communicate! (The local manager was eventually persuaded otherwise.) I was especially really unhappy to find myself with no TV service for the entire duration of my stay...I was looking forward to that and, as a solo traveller in winter, it was important to me. Slow or no response to some messages about fixing it and a late attempt by the local manager to fix it failed. No compensation offered by the owner. Other things: no sign at the door to know you are in the right place, broken handrail on the way up to the apartment, have to stand on chairs to access pots and pans etc - very dangerous. Works on the path outside at the time of staying so if you want quiet during the day, now is not the time. Can't fault the comfort and general cleanliness...though it was all very 'Ikea'. Also, in decades of travelling, it's the first time I was ever expected to put on my own duvet cover, except when staying in a youth hostel! Overall, very disappointed to find a property managed like this on Hotels.com and I would not recommend it, or the managing company 'direct-booker', to anyone. Stay somewhere else.

It was easy to check in, with the keys being in a key lock, and the host sent a video to show us how to check in. The apartment was a good size, safe, clean, and comfortable, with good basic kitchen facilities for a short stay. The shower was good with plenty of hot water.

The description details are a bit misleading it does not mention all the steps you have to get to it inside the building and outside. And also the fact it is above a restaurant.

• Aamna (10/5): A gem in old town - The location is perfect, and the apartment is very clean and well-equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Paula was very supportive throughout the stay. In only a min or two, you arrive at the Stradun, the main street. Buza Gate is 2 mins away, Pile Gate is 4 mins away by foot. The building staircase to the apartment is a bit uneven and uncomfortable. Thankfully we didn't have big bags to carry so it was OK. Of course that's true for most buildings in the old town so no critic as such.

Only concern is that the safety handrail going up the stairs had fallen off the wall, and a very minor issue of a lack of body wash for the shower. Otherwise, clean and comfortable

One street up from the Main Street. Restaurants everywhere Great communication from host, before and during our stay. Would definitely stay there again!

Ample amount of food places nearby and so convenient to be in the heart of Dubrovnik during our short stay. Air conditioning was very much appreciated! It was ok for us but there are a couple of flights of stairs up to the apartment - so just be aware of that when booking.

The air con was fantastic as when we came back after the day the apartment was cool. Bed was super comfortable and the host Paula was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again. If you have trouble with walking up and down lots of steps then the location would not be suitable
