• Voon Chin (10/5): - I always stay here when I am in Istanbul as it is convenient to places. The staff members are friendly and helpful. It is a simple hotel but the bed is comfortable. If you have a big bag just make sure the wheels are strong as the path to the hotel is somewhat uneven though only about 10-15 mins walk. But thats the path to all hotels around Istikal (the main drag in taksim) so almost unavoidable.

Best part always the staff - cihan (hope I got the name right) helped me to check the buses and I eas very thankful. The housekeeping guy and young night shift guys were also friendly and helpful. Coming back there again in a few days.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Noisy dirty and un-maintained Jacuzzi room - We had a terrible experience staying at their Jacuzzi room. The room is not well maintained, and is both noisy and dirty. The hotel has clearly ignored doing basic maintenance and good workmanship in this room. Details and photos below. - Cleanness: we could literally see dirt and nastiness on the chairs in the room. Similarly the floor was damaged and disgusting to walk on. - Comfort & experience: there were several source of noise in this room making it impossible to relax and enjoy our stay. Firstly, there was construction next door and two dudes were working and often fighting loudly. We could hear them all the time even over the weekend. Secondly, there was some sort of bird stuck on the roof and we could hear its moaning noise from early morning. Thirdly, the room is next to the elevator door which was making noise throughout the day. - Maintainance: The room was not well maintained and was in need of several things; the shower area had no door; the vanity in the bathroom was broken and the faucet was not installed in a proper / stable way. Also its sink was very dirty and old. The floor in the room was missing some baseboards let alone that it was clearly damaged from the Jacuzzi water overflow. The jacuzzi itself was leaking water from the bottom into its surrounding area.

The from desk person was very helpful however we asked him to book us a ferry ride to Bursa and he booked on the wrong date so we lost the money and have to pay $200 for a taxi to Bursa.

If you have health issues..the hotel is located on top of a hill.

• David (4/5): - Upon arrival we noticed immediately that the property was not the cleanest and was somewhat in disrepair. Our room had lots of mildew and mold in the bathroom and it seemed the door to the shower was missing so water would go everywhere. The frame on the bathroom door was falling apart and almost fell off completely. The walls had holes in random places as well as the ceiling. Our bed had no fitted sheet so the sheet would move while sleeping to reveal a mattress with questionable stains and cigarette holes. Our bed also only had a thin top sheet and no blanket. If you have warm pjs and shower shoes you can get past most of that. However, the worst part was the walls are so thin that you can hear everything from upstairs guests talking to the night shift at reception watching a movie and any other noise from the loud outside street.

• Michelle (8/5): - The location of the hotel is amazing. Walking distance from Taksim and the famous Istiklak Str. with many great restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is 'basic'. No room cleaning or towel changing. No breakfast either. It's a great hotel if you only need a place to sleep. Staff is nice and helpful. Recommended hotel if you're on a budget.

• Omaid (10/5): - Stayed there for 3 nights its a nice little place full of cafe and restaurants around. If your spending most of ur time outside and looking for a budget place this is it. The receptionist is very helpful.
• Sina (6/5): - It was a decent place to stay around in the city center and has easy access to everything like cafes, restaurants, public transportation. The room was spotless and in good condition, but the cleaning services were not good, they didn’t clean the room everyday, and you have to notice them about cleanness and changing towels or bringing slippers. On the whole, this place is at the level of a suite, and they don't provide services that a hotel should provide, like cleaning every day, breakfast, place for baggage
• anowar (6/5): - Clean room but small good for one person or 2 max for sure not for family with kids
• Leila (10/5): - Friendly staff and clean place. Very acceptable for the price.
• Voon Chin (10/5): - I have stayed here before and this time for a week. I love the staff and location. The room is simple but good value for the price. Good restaurants on the e street and a grocery store less than 5 mins away. it has elevator and air conditioner. The shower water pressure is good. My fifth floor room have windows that can be opened. Read the room description as some smaller rooms have no window if that bothers you. I look forward to my next stay if the price is still similar.
• Mr Martin F (10/5): 210m down Heart Attack Hill!! - Stayed in the 210m away from hotel room. Room ok, but it’s at the bottom of what we called heart attack hill. Good thing is that you pass the hospital on the way up if you do have a heart attack!! Very close to Taksin square. Family stayed in the actual hotel at same time and said rooms were great.
• Yuko (8/5): - The room itself was very comfortable, and also the location was very good. At every night, you hear lots of noises from the main street and around Taksim Square, so it is not for the person who cares about that.

• Voon Chin (10/5): - Stayed here several times now. This time I got the comfort suite and the room is big and has windows - on the fifth floor. This hotel has different room types and associated prices. I stayed in 3 different type of rooms in various times. Overall, I love the staff and location - Cihan the beat and so is the housekeeping guy. They renovated this room but some of the old switches are still there ao I got a little confused. My stay was fine and the window is plus - it can even be opened. Just make sure you read the description of the room.

• Voon Chin (10/5): - Simple hotel with great value and friendly and helpful staff. They changed their names from duhok. Some rooms have no windows so make sure you check if thats important to you. For me its not a problem. A block away from istikal.
• Ali (10/5): - The staff was incredibly pleasant and demonstrated excellent hospitality throughout my stay. Despite arriving early, before my room was prepared, they kindly offered me a spare room where I could change and prepare for my meetings. Upon my return, my assigned room was promptly made available to me. While my experience was largely positive, there was one aspect that I believe could be improved— the provision of complementary water. Although it was available, I would have appreciated a slightly larger quantity of water as part of the complimentary amenities.

• Alvin (8/5): - This was a nice one night stay for a hostel. Room wasn’t as advertised, but was comfortable enough for the time needed.
• Voon Chin (10/5): - A simple no frills hotel near everything i want - grocery, restaurant shopping and hammam. Good value. The staff are very nice from reception to cleaning. Unlike earlier reviews, it does have ac and elevator. This time i paid for a small room without window but it was fine. Space can be tight in the room size i chose for some w more bags but i am fine with it. This is my second stay and it will be one of my few top choices in that area.
