Guest Reviews
- Krisztian (1/5): - Made me cancel my booking the very last minute, they said because of a pricing mistake
- Chen (9/5): Love the old Hollywood vibe - Great location, great vibe. Everything is so elegant with a sense of history and Hollywood. Love it.
- Ganna (7/5): Nice room, but there’s better hotels in LA for this price. - Spacious room The curtains were broken, no pool, the staff in the restaurant is rude and slow, they prefer to serve the restaurant guests but not hotel guests, they give hotel guests the worst tables. They promise complimentary fruits but it takes 5 times to ask to bring them. The street was closed so I had to park a block away and walk with luggage.
- 291feliciah (10/5): Will definitely return - Really great stay. All aspects exceeded our expectations.
Super staff!
- michellehK7174VM (10/5): Amazing Service, Amazing Staff! - My fiancé and I came to The Culver Hotel to take engagement photos in the Velvet Lounge, and it was such a great experience. It’s usually really hard to find a place like this without having to rent out the whole space, so we were honestly so appreciative of how accommodating and flexible they were.
They helped us pick the best timing, everything felt easy and low-stress, and the fee was super reasonable. The staff was so kind and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. They even brought us cocktails while we were shooting!
The space is beautiful, the vibe was exactly what we were going for, and our photos turned out even better than we hoped. Really grateful to the team for making it such a fun, seamless experience. As a Los Angeles native my bar is high and I highly recommend!
- Katherine (6/5): Very beautiful hotel and by far the nicest in the area. - Beautiful hotel with lovely spacious rooms. Location was perfect for where I needed to be. I initially booked through Booking.com but was charged twice, once through the Booking.com app and again from the hotel directly. Advice would be to verify charges upon checking out.
- reginalouise (10/5): Great coffee, tight sheets, near work, oh, my! - I work with humans in the EQ field. I’m away 9 days at a time confined by a rigorous schedule and consistent emotional, spiritual, intellectual training. The code simply sucks. My work is sometimes grueling and at other times less so— I need good coffee and a beautifully made bed to restore!
My best friend works at Sony Pictures Studios and needed to be at work at 2:00 AM. I needed respite, she needed proximity. I gave myself the room at CH to not only make traveling at 2:00 AM accessible for my bestie, but also to awaken to a perfectly brewed “wet” cappuccino. It was PERFECT!
I’m grateful and can’t wait to return to The Culver’s Hotel!

- Scenic295214 (10/5): Gracious and Kind Hosts for our Feature Film Production - I have to say that the entire staff--Milena, Chelsea, Antonia, et al, from the Events Coordinator to the front desk receptionist were so kind and gracious and sincerely wanted the best for us and our film shoot. We were filming the biggest set piece of our film at their Velvet Lounge upstairs and they were great partners in making us feel welcome and accommodating our filming schedule and production request. Grade A. Bravo! We will be back....!!!!
- dinamatos1 (10/5): Couldn't Have Asked for a Better Experience - I could not have asked for a better stay! The hotel was clean, the staff was terrific, and food and beverage outstanding. I will not hesitate to go back.
A must try if you are traveling to Culver City!
- L6371YIleaw (10/5): A touch of heaven - I visited the restaurant with some friends after an evening out celebrating a special occasion. Some of us were craving music, and a nice cup of tea. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty. There was music (shoutout to the stellar band!) classic movies, beautiful atmosphere, and good company. Thank you to Anthony, Melany, and Yoshio for going above and beyond in service to make a special night every more perfect. Everyone should visit this hotel if you can!
- 596gailc (10/5): Family Wedding Stay - Great location in downtown Culver City. Always wanted to stay. Boutique hotel with great atmosphere and rooms with a 1920’s vibe. Superb service throughout so subjective value for the price.
- robert (5/5): - The restaurant was not open during our stay and this was very disappointing as we had to walk down the street for breakfast with children.
- markfP4001QM (10/5): Classic Culver City - Excellent landmark hotel with great atmosphere, service and central Culver City location. Highly recommend.
- Lori837 (10/5): Lovely & serene sanctuary in the middle of everything! - This was my first stay at the Culver. It is elegant and charming, and so conveniently located in the middle of bars, restaurants and specialty shops in lively Culver City. The staff was attentive and friendly, and I enjoyed excellent service. My room was light & bright, very clean and nicely furnished.

- katesN9822GV (10/5): Gorgeous Historic Hotel - What a lovely, charming hotel! It's located right on the pedestrian area in the center of Culver City, which is a really lively place. This historic hotel is beautifully appointed, with very appealing rooms and a gorgeous restaurant and bar area. The historic photographs of movie stars and films in the making all along the staircases were very fun to see. We just loved this hotel and will stay nowhere else when we return.
- Christy (10/5): Great location, clean and cute! - Loved the vintage inspired decor and location.
- ellen (10/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Very comfortable, old world style - Exceptional staff Noisy outside my room
- Josie (9/5): -
- ericaz252 (10/5): It's a must! - I loved my stay at The Culver Hotel. It is located in a beautiful area in the heart of Culver City. The team was engaging and created a very elevated experience. The room was beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was spotless. I also really appreciated the fresh fruit and welcome note upon our arrival. I had dinner at the restaurant, which felt elevated, and the server was approachable, helpful, and attentive. We will be back - I would highly recommend to stay here.
- L7578FHmollyb (10/5): Celebration of Life at the hotel - We had my Dad's Celebration of Life on Saturday at the hotel. It was lovely. The atmosphere is so great and the staff was wonderful. We worked with Milena, Chelsea and Giselle on the planning and they were super helpful and knew their stuff. Our servers were Daniel, Juan, and Odalis and they did a great job, as well. We're so glad everything worked with the venue. We would definitely use them again.
- Donna (10/5): -
- Z1102FLkristinl (10/5): Great function space - Amazing venue with extremely helpful staff & service. This is a perfect venue for functions. Our server Lyn was wonderful.
- sofiaaM8965WW (10/5): Host your next business event at the Culver! - We hosted a client dinner at the Culver Hotel, and it was amazing! Their staff is incredibly helpful, and the space is beautiful. Our server, Luca, was fantastic as well. Highly recommend hosting your next business event here!
- S9744HUlindav (10/5): A fantastic stay-cation - My husband and I had a fantastic stay at The Culver Hotel. We celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary and the hotel generously upgraded us to the suite. We had a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. The room had so much charm… classic colors, antique armoire and a beautiful all white bathroom. Nick, at the front desk, was so professional, super friendly and accommodating. Thank you Nick for being one of the best parts of the hotel.
- joannegV936PS (10/5): LOVELY GATHERING SPACE - Held a private party here and it was perfect! Tony, Daniel, Maira, Mina, Mirna and Billy were wonderful in making sure guests were well fed and looked after. THANK YOU!
- lesliehE1287FJ (10/5): Memorable evening! - Our recent event dinner at the hotel was absolutely outstanding. From the early planning stages to the evening of our event, every detail was executed flawlessly. The preplanning team, Chelsea and Milena were lovely to work with, especially since we had several last-minute request.
The food and beverage team, Jacob, Mina and Mirna delivered a truly memorable evening. The service was polished yet warm, striking the perfect balance between professionalism, casual yet hospitable.
A huge thank-you to everyone involved for making this event such a success. It was an experience that showcased not only the hotel’s culinary excellence but also the dedication and teamwork behind the scenes. I have planned several events at the Culver Hotel, and they always exceed my expectations. Thank you!
- Ben (10/5): - Excellent hospitality and facilities!
- senaitb2018 (4/5): Great stay overshadowed by poor service and missing property - Great stay overshadowed by poor service and missing property
I really wanted to love this hotel — and for the most part, I did. The rooms were beautiful, the property well-kept, and the atmosphere relaxing. I had multiple meals on site and initially thought I’d found my new favorite getaway spot.
But two things completely ruined the experience for me.
First, the bar experience was embarrassingly stingy. My friend ordered a St. Germain spritzer and, when she politely mentioned she couldn’t taste the liqueur, the server said adding a splash more would require charging her for a full extra shot. We’re not talking about doubling the drink — just enough to balance the flavor. At a property that markets itself as upscale, that kind of nickel-and-diming over an ounce of elderflower is tacky and tone-deaf.
Second, and far worse: my charger went missing after checkout. I called within a few hours of leaving — before the next guest had even checked in — and explained exactly where I’d left it plugged in. The front desk claimed it wasn’t there. How is that possible? I know precisely where I left it. The only people who had access were housekeeping. If an item disappears in that short window, that’s not a coincidence — that’s a theft problem.
It’s disappointing when a property that gets the big things right completely fails on integrity and basic hospitality. Until management addresses staff accountability and customer care, I can’t recommend this hotel — no matter how charming it looks on the surface.
- F1299SSdanielles (10/5): Great food and excellent service - Anthony made our experience amazing. He went the extra mile with extra special attention to detail and kind polite conversation
- kaleemai (10/5): Perfect for Work Bonding Events and Conferences - We recently hosted a professional event at the Culver Hotel and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Chelsea and Milena were an amazing coordination team—so communicative, helpful, and easy to work with. The setup was beautiful, the food was great, and Luca, our waiter, was fantastic! Everyone was so kind and accommodating.
All of our guests had nothing but positive things to say and seem really interested in utilizing the venue again for future events. Thank you again to the entire team for helping make our event such a success!
- Kathleen (10/5): Great historic hotel - Great historic hotel in downtown Culver City. Shops and restaurants nearby
- Christine (10/5): - Still a lovely hotel after all the years! Great location with a variety of restaurants within walking distance. We didn't rent a car for try weekend because The Culver is easy access via ride share to every where on the westside to downtown. I used to live in the arts district in Culver City for many years and I could not recommend this hotel more - excellent stay, best location!
- Seaside642994 (10/5): Charming historic hotel that checks off all the boxes - Ideal Location, atmosphere, history, beauty, great food and staff. Neighborhood is filled with cafes, shops and of course Erewhon and Trader Joe’s! Right next to Culver Studios. Would stay here again in a heartbeat 💓
- Jessica (10/5): - Beautiful location for outdoor enthusiast.
- Daydream21315474740 (10/5): Going back! - We came to visit family in Los Angeles and was told by friends that this was a great hotel. We agreed! It's a fabulous homage to the Wizard of Oz. The updates are well appointed with modern amenities but still keep to the feel of the period of when it was originally built. We are going back to the Culver again soon. Can't wait!
- 993kristinae (8/5): Beautiful Hotel - Beautiful hotel with excellent service. The parking situation isn't ideal but not that far away. DJ music till midnight was a low point, but will be back!
- Maria (10/5): - Great location and lovely patio. Comfy bed, too!
- Kristina (8/5): Beautiful Hotel - Beautiful Hotel with excellent service. Parking situation isn't ideal but not that far away. DJ across the street was playing till midnight and bedding was a bit hot for August.
- serenapQ6241KQ (10/5): Gem of a hotel - We love the Culver Hotel so much. It’s gorgeous, historic, and perfectly located to all things LA. The staff has always been kind and accommodating. There’s also so many wonderful restaurants and shops within walking distance. A stay in Culver City, at the Culver Hotel is truly a magical experience.
- Michelle (10/5): - Live jazz in the perfect 1920s hotel. Highly recommend this hotel.
- johnlU8384TJ (10/5): Classic Comfort - A fantastic place to stay in the heart of Culver City. Wonderful food, great bar and walking distance to the studio where Gone With The Wind was filmed.
- 497glennr (10/5): Luxury Old Hollywood Gem! - My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Culver Hotel. What a gem! And our new LA ‘go to’ luxury, boutique hotel with a soul! Such a beautiful intersection of modernity and old Hollywood chic. Danielle and her team are incredible, professional and highly attentive. Do yourself a favour, whether is a staycation or something further a field. You won’t be disappointed!
- shareen (8/5): - This was a cute historic hotel in a great location. The room was decent - mine had a lot of windows. The bed was comfortable and the room was mostly clean (except for a few hairs still in the bathroom when I arrived.) There was a little bit of a sense of it being slightly run down and not entirely taken care of. The staff were bleak. There was supposed to be a refill of filtered bottled water every day but that didn't happen for any of my four days there. There was also a lot of noise every evening from the nearby Culver Steps, one night a musician, one night a movie. Not a quiet sleep. I'm glad I stayed there once but don't need to stay there again.
- HappyVoyager_101 (10/5): A gem in plain view! - A gem in plain view! We loved our four night stay at this historic hotel. Kudos to the new owners who did a phenomenal job of renovating while maintaining the vintage Hollywood look and feel! The 1st floor restaurant is worth a visit in and of itself--so much attention to detail. We dined there with family and it was excellent (food and service). A shout out to Juan, who (at our request) regaled us with some of the hotel's history and connections to the Classic Wizard of Oz movie (filmed nearby at what used to be MGM Studios), while plying us with large and delicious lattes. He filled us in on the upstairs bar that used to be a speak-easy during prohibition. When the staff are that excited about the history of the hotel, that really says something! Billy the bartender whipped out delicious cocktails. Our room was beautifully restored with an art deco feel (but new mattress:).
After Sony took over the old MGM site, it and Culver City fostered an entire gentrification of the surrounding area, while maintaining the "vintage Hollywood" roots. The hotel sits amid many wonderful restaurants, shops and theaters, all sporting the art deco style. Check out the beautiful City Hall and the Kirk Douglas Theater. We have family in Culver City that we usually stay with, but from how on the Culver Hotel will be our go-to spot.
- Lily (8/5): Excellent staff - Fantastic location and charming historic hotel. The furnishings, A/C etc are rather dated esp in this price point, but the staff are all lovely and overall a great stay
- Julie (10/5): - The property has old Hollywood charm and is nestled in the middle of great dining experiences.
- Kathryn (10/5): Historical beauty was found in this lovely hotel. - The history and the location It was a little pricey
- Dimitri (5/5): -
- Alexandra (10/5): - If this hotel had a proper gym and room service, it would be my go-to for work travel.
- Meng-Han (7/5): 地點氣氛都很好,可惜浴室花灑水量較少,吹風機功能不佳。 - 地點非常好
接待人員很親切 早餐選項少,只有咖啡、水、甜點。
鹹食主餐要另外付費。
- Alissa (10/5): - Great location. Great service. Great little hotel
- Karl (8/5): Very good -
- joseluisfX6193LL (10/5): An Experience, not a Hotel. - Stayed at Culver City, for our grand daughter’s UCLA graduation, and it was a delightful experience. This was like going back in time. During the Wizard of OZ, production, Culver hosted the Lolly Pops Guild munchkins. The unique charm is very well up-kept by all Culver Hotel employees, specially Diana Khngikian Manager and Executive Chef. Our stay here was simply delightful.
- Joanna Lynn (10/5): - Super helpful staff and gorgeous hotel. I ordered room service and loved the Crab Louie.
- Denise (8/5): - We love to stay here for convenience. The atmosphere is nice. However, it is expensive and you should be able to climb stairs if need be.
- Miguel (10/5): - Great historic hotel located in the heart of Culver city close to metro line
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Joyce (10/5): Amazing staff - Location vibe. Amazing staff Nothing
- Lamise (10/5): - Grear location, beautiful boutique hotel
- ANJUGOELA (10/5): Heritage Heaven! - I absolutely loved my stay at this heritage hotel!! In the heart of Culver City, surrounded by bars and restaurants, it is one of the few walkable areas. The lack of a spa/gym/pool are compensated by the location, and its old world charm. I loved the food at their restaurant. Their afternoon tea on Saturday/Sunday is delightful.
I stayed here for 4 nights/ 5 days. I loved my room on the 5th floor. The hotel provides daily cleaning service, and complementary water bottles (something I appreciate). The noise from the bustle around the hotel can be a bit of bother, late evenings.
Next to the Culver Steps, with a movie theatre right opposite, and plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity - makes this a great hangout area. It is very lively most days, especially during weekends. I even took a tour of Sony Studio close by - an interesting experience. The "Platform" - walking distance from the hotel also has shopping/dining options.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Omar (10/5): - Excellent boutique hotel , very nice location, near restaurants and shops, very friendly staff, spacious suite
- Jenifer (10/5): - A great experience!
- Sarah (10/5): - Beautiful, elegant hotel with really nice staff.
- lauren (10/5): - Then eat
- Jake (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ken (10/5): My go-to L.A. Hotel - Great location near the Culver Steps and all the restaurants nearby. Love the restaurant, the old Hollywood vibe and live music! Centrally located in the city.
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (2/5): - Never going back
- Barrie (8/5): Very good -
- Jay (8/5): - Historic property in Culver City, walkable access to shopping and dining. Clean, comfortable room, room location right off the elevator was a little noisy.
- Cathy (9/5): Superb -
- Sonali (10/5): - I would stay here again. I liked the rooms and the service was friendly.
- Sonali (10/5): - Well designed and so convenient. Polite service
- Concetta (6/5): - The Culver is a boutique hotel located in the historic district of Culver City but it is LOUD — didn’t get much sleep due to the enormous numbers of people gathering day and night outside hanging out, etc.
- Teresa (8/5): - Upgraded to the suite ! So spacious
- 124claytonv (10/5): Best hotel in Culver City - I had one of the best solo trips staying here.
All the staff I ran into were engaging and accommodating.
Food and beverage service was a 10/10 as well as the ambiance and offerings.
I will definitely be back. Who knew Culver City had so much to do!
- Ingrid (10/5): - One of my favorite hotels to stay at here in Culver City. Love the cheekiness of the hotel and the rooms are always clean and beds are comfortable. I’ve stayed here many times. Love it over all.
- Ellen (8/5): Very good - Rooms was very nice, old renovated hotel. Included breakfast was coffee, tea, and two (very tasty) pastries. Eggs were available to order at an additional charge.
- caryls255 (6/5): Beautiful, but stay away if you have a car. - Location and bar are beautiful. But if you have a car? Look elsewhere. Seriously. First, no place to unload when we arrived. Large truck in front for 45 minutes . We had to park in a parking deck down the street. When we checked in, we were told to bring the car back to unload (not sure how, as the truck still there) and take car to a Trader Joe’s parking lot. Ultimately, we schlepped the bags from the original lot to check in. At check out, no one offered to help load car or anything else, honestly. Teeny workout room, small guest rooms generally. Our daughter lives in LA, but this will be the last visit at this hotel for us.
- Dudley (6/5): - Hotel has a great location and is in an interesting refurbished building. My primary criticism is that the finishes in the room and bathroom seemed super cheap. I was hoping for a much nicer space along the lines of something in the ballpark of the Chelsea in NYC or at least at the same level as the Figueroa downtown. It’s a nice hotel but probably won’t stay again.
- Cynthia (10/5): We travel a lot and this was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. We’d been evacuated due to a fire and the staff co - Beautiful building and nice rooms. Lovely area to walk around with lots of restaurant options
- Phyllis (9/5): Enjoyed it verymuch - Did not have breakfast but the coffee and pastry were excellent Better TV
- Brad (9/5): Superb -
- Ofer (8/5): - Historic property so rooms need some renovation - especially the bath. In the middle of downtown Culver City. Public parking next to the hotel. Excellent inhouse restaurant.
- sabine (10/5): - Great stay. Nice holiday atmosphere. Cozy restaurant.
- Devon (9/5): Superb - Location, Lobby of the hotel. The room was beautiful. Drinks on arrival. Holiday Decorations! Staff where all great. The street noise in the room was very loud. Making it very hard to sleep!
- Mary (10/5): - Beautiful old hotel in the middle of all sorts of walkable restaurants etc in Culver City
- 399stevene (10/5): Classic hotel in a vibrant, walkable neighborhood. - Classic hotel in a vibrant, walkable setting. The rooms are well-appointed and the service was perfect. Last night, there was a community Christmas tree lighting in the public plaza just outside the hotel. Lots of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Culver Hotel - The Culver Hotel is charming, comfortable, and convenient. The city view rooms can be noisy at night. We had a delicious breakfast.
- Sarah (8/5): Lovey old Hollywood style hotel - Lovely location in Culver City with lots of cafes, bars and restaurants near by. Also a plus is the cinema right next door and the Sony Studios not far away. Very helpful staff and the hotel itself has an old Hollywood feel. Not the most modern of rooms but I guess that’s the feel they are going for. The hotel restaurant Lillie’s was very nice. We stayed over thanksgiving and had thanksgiving dinner, it was delicious!
- Ashley (10/5): - Definitely the most charming hotel in LA area, lovely staff, we will be staying at The Culver Hotel again soon :)
- Jingwei (9/5): A delightful, retro-inspired experience in the heart of Culver City. - Located in the heart of Culver City, this hotel offers a convenient, vibrant, and safe environment. The nearest metro station is less than a 10-minute walk away. The property is well-renovated, spacious, and impeccably clean, featuring a charming retro-inspired design and a nice city view (a photo taken from the room window is attached). It can be a bit noisy at night due to some activity nearby (youngsters hanging out and DJ music). It wasn’t a major issue for me, but those looking for a very quiet environment might want to consider this.
- Robert (10/5): - This is a beautiful hotel. Friendly staff as well!
- MattCookeUK (10/5): Excellent base in a great neighbourhood. - Traditional, historic and perfectly located - this is a great hotel full with character and a very warm welcome. We stayed in a king size room which wasn't massive but was perfectly adequate for us, the shower comes with Aesop soaps/shampoo and there is a refrigerator and the usual coffee facilities. The people at reception/check-in were really friendly and you receive a voucher for the bar - we had great cocktails. The surrounding area is clean, friendly and has multiple choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We found it to be the perfect base.
- Michael (10/5): - Great place to stay. Very convenient. Beautiful downtown. Friendly service and nice amenities.
- Sam (10/5): Highly recommend - Amazing location near great restaurants! Comfy beds, great combo of old historic hotel and updated comforts. Super nice staff! A beautiful bar and restaurant downstairs.
