• Sergiy (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at Spinoza Suites. The location was perfect — peaceful and quiet at night and in the mornings, away from the busiest areas and the constant sound of tourists dragging suitcases along cobbled streets, yet still incredibly easy to get around both on foot and by public transport. Amsterdam Centraal is only a couple of metro stops away, and having the freedom to walk into the centre each day meant we discovered so many beautiful little cafés, canals and neighbourhoods we would probably never have found if we had stayed somewhere more central. The suite itself was beautiful, comfortable and full of character. The thoughtful touches on arrival immediately made us feel welcome. Having such a great bakery right next door also quickly became part of our daily routine before heading out to explore the city. Patrick was a genuinely kind and thoughtful host throughout our stay — welcoming, helpful and easy to communicate with, while also giving us complete privacy. His hospitality really helped make the trip feel warm and personal rather than transactional. By the end of the trip, Amsterdam felt less like somewhere we had visited and more like somewhere we had briefly lived, and Spinoza Suites played a big part in that feeling. We would happily stay there again.

Alles is schoon en netjes en de vriendelijke host maakt het verblijf extra fijn. Het bed is heerlijk, dus goed slapen is gegarandeerd.

• Silvia (10/5): Perfekt - Meiner Tochter und mir hat es bei Patrick (Gastgeber) sehr gut gefallen. Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung der Suite war wunderbar. Die Lage ist ein Traum, nur 2 Minuten bis zur Metro und direkt am Kanal. Patrick ist ein Super-Gastgeber, unser Aufenthalt war perfekt. Falls wir wieder in Amsterdam sind, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier einchecken.

What truly made the experience exceptional was the host. They were incredibly kind, responsive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Everything was absolutely perfect; it's right next door to the luxury Hyatt Regency hotel that is also very well-rated, but I would truly choose to stay at Spinoza Suites over the Hyatt any day! Will absolutely be recommending Spinoza to any family/friends/colleagues visiting Amsterdam in the future :) Room: The garden suite is beautifully designed, being crisp & modern while also feeling warm & inviting, feeling like an oasis of calm as soon as you walk in. Very spacious as well; I particularly liked the generous size of the bathroom which was comfortably large even by North American standards, which is even rarer for Amsterdam. Host: Patrick was an amazing host; super communicative & quick to answer any questions & offer recommendations, and incredibly welcoming & hospitable. This was especially appreciated as a solo traveller. Building & location: Very convenient location, being tucked away on a quiet residential street, steps away from the metro & bus stops, a large supermarket just across the road, and tons of amazing cafes & restaurants all within walking distance, many less than a 10 minute walk. And the city centre is only about 10 or so minutes away by bus/metro. Amenities: Spotlessly clean, with complimentary drinks & snacks, and daily housekeeping to freshen up the room. The housekeeping had such attention to detail- one of my coat buttons had randomly popped off in the morning, and when I returned in the evening they'd found it put it on the desk for me haha. They also replaced the fresh flowers every day of my stay, which was an unexpected but very lovely touch. Also highly recommend taking advantage of the access to the Hyatt's gym and spa next door. Note for if you have any mobility difficulties or accessibility needs: the steps up to the suites are indeed extremely narrow!! Such is the case with these tall & narrow residential buildings in Amsterdam. But the building and the rooms themselves are otherwise fully new/modernized, and well-maintained.

• Charlotte (10/5): Perfect in every way! We can’t wait to come back - We absolutely loved the small, boutique vibe! It was the perfect spot for four of us (the two private upstairs rooms are across from one another). The rooms were spotlessly clean, somehow smelled amazing, and all the little details added up to make us feel like we were at a much nicer version of our own home :D Patrick was an amazing host! He was so welcoming, recommended restaurants and bars, and even organized a private canal tour for us. We loved the location, too! It’s a tad outside the super busy / tourist-y city center and on a quiet canal. But easy walking distance to everything, and right by a metro stop. We were able to park our rental car in a safe garage <5 min walk away. We really hope to come and stay at Spinoza again and highly recommend it! Nothing! The stay was great in every way.

The room was spotless, well-prepared, and ready for me even earlier than expected. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay. The apartment was thoughtfully equipped, with many little touches that made me feel right at home. After the hustle bussel of the day I looked forward coming to a place that was quiet and home like. And the place will not be complete with the owners. Patrick and Eric. Fabulous host. We love the fact that it is in a quaint area with some really lovely cafes/restaurants . The host Patrick is really awesome and he is the best host we have come across in many years of travelling. He helped us with our luggages on arrival and departure (and some of you will know the challenge of navigating those narrow steps in European properties) and gave us many useful pointers to off beaten track in the city. He is super responsive. One of the best stays we had. Highly recommended! Nothing.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location in which to explore Amsterdam. Our garden view room was a beautiful and relaxing place to return home to each day. Patrick was the perfect host; easy to communicate with, available if needed, and very helpful with great recommendations. He provides thoughtful touches to his accommodations like in-room refreshments, daily cleaning, assistance with luggage (due to the traditional Dutch stairwell), and taxi arrangements.

• John (10/5): Great location, great room and a great owner! - The location is excellent. It’s in a more quiet part of Amsterdam with a more local population. There are also universities in the area and so there are students. You are a block away from a metro station that is two stops from Centraal Station and a few minutes from a tram stop that goes directly to the museums. Supermarket is steps away. The longer we stayed the more we realized how good the location really is. The room is also large and really nice. The fixtures and furniture are modern, stylish and well maintained. The room and bathroom are spacious. You can see the owner’s love for the property and his attention to every detail. A very romantic stay! The owner is a prince. He checked on us and made sure we were doing well. His recommendations were spot on. We had an early flight and he offered to arrange a taxi to pick us up outside the door for a set price (the local’s price). We liked everything about our stay but there is a steep set of stairs you must climb to reach the room. Also, this is not a hotel. There are two rooms. The owner was ever present, however. And he checked in with us as we were coming and going from the home.
• Annefien (10/5): Brilliant gem in Amsterdam - Nothing not to love, the location is ideal - nice if you don’t want to be in the hectic touristy area of Amsterdam but so well connected you can get there within 5-10 mins via metro or tram. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. I’ve stayed in several places in Amsterdam and this is by far the best. The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly, couldn’t recommend more.

The room is great and the view on the canal from the bed was just.. perfect! The place I so quiet and yet in a neighborhood full of life. By far my new favorite place to stay in Amsterdam, hope to be back soon! Everything was perfect
• Amber (10/5): Wonderful suite in a great location. - Wonderful and attentive host and excellent location with view of canal. Easily within walking distance to grocery store and great areas. It was also close to metro and tram. Everything was terrific. One word of caution that may be important to some - there is one flight of steep/tight stairs to get to suite. We acclimated to them quickly.

• Peter (10/5): Wonderful hosts and a lovely, spacious room. - The very friendly and accommodating owners, Patrick and Erik, reside on the first floor, while taking care of their guests in two suites on the second floor. It felt as though we were guests in a private house. They were very attentive to our needs, and took our interests into account in making recommendations and reservations for our meals. They stocked our room with snacks and drinks, all of which were free for our use, including a bottle of champagne. The rooms are spacious, modern, nicely appointed, and the free Wi-Fi worked very well. They’re cleaned daily, and the room in which we stayed has a lovely view of the canal. The street on which the hotel is located is quiet, and the neighborhood is very nice, with a number of restaurants and sites within walking distance. The staircase to the second floor, which has narrow steps and two curves, requires some caution, and can be a bit tricky for those with mobility issues. However, Patrick does an amazing job of carrying suitcases up and down the stairs.

• Louise (10/5): It as terrific. - Beautiful location on a canal in a lovely residential part of a university neighborhood. Very quiet yet convenient to a grocery, restaurants and cafes, and also the metro. The host went out of his way to make us comfortable and assist us any way he could, including carrying our luggage down the characteristic, steep stairway that Dutch row houses have. He didn’t hesitate at all. 5 stars!! Nothing really, as long as you’re prepared to walk a few blocks for things.
