The breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The only minor issue was the hand shower which sprayed quite strongly and caused water to flow into the rest of the bathroom.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the parking was convenient and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I will very likely stay here again.l
• GoBlue_traveller (10/5): Good option in Dublin - We stayed at the Mespil while in Dublin for a work meeting (that was about 15min walking away). Clean, quiet rooms that darkened well. Refrigerator in room and coffee maker. I'd say this was a fairly stereotypical European city hotel and good for that niche - not a character-filled B&B like we had elsewhere in Ireland. Breakfast (included) was solid and plentiful on the buffet. Good eating options nearby (try Bloom!). We could walk to Trinity College and shopping. Staff were helpful. Hotel prices in Dublin are outrageous but this was a good option compared to some other choices the meeting listed (which were double or more the cost!).
• Schuck (10/5): Another great stay - A return visit to the Mespil hotel, this time with friends. On arrival a very warm welcome, here you immediately feel valued as a guest. We were accommodated with lovely quiet rooms next to each other towards the back of the hotel. Comfortable, clean rooms with all amenities. Well stocked hospitality tray and plentiful Rituals range toiletries. Great breakfast range, both hot and cold buffet style, also freshly cooked items to order. Every morning was a great way to start our day, along with the friendly efficient staff who looked after us. The hotel caters for both tourists and business guests. It is so well placed for both walking to the centre and using public transport, buses are regular within yards of the hotel. Recommend a leap card for trams buses and DART Have no hesitation in recommending this great hotel,consistently offering an excellent standard of service and accommodation. Thank you again for providing us with another great stay.

The staff kindly upgraded our room to a signature room due to us celebrating a 30th birthday and this was so greatly appreciated, we had a wonderful time. I’ll definitely want to stay in this room again with the sofa area! The hotel felt secure as well, when we got back late one of the evenings the front door was locked and we had to press a buzzer and then confirm name and room before being able to enter. I’ll be recommending family and friends to stay here, this is the best hotel I’ve stayed in in Dublin.

Lovely quiet location next to the canal but easy 15-minute walk to most places I wanted to go. I asked for a quiet room and the staff certainly delivered on that, I didn’t hear a sound all night. Room was large, well-equipped with lots of electrical outlets, fabulous blackout curtains that actually did block out all light, crisp linens on the comfy bed and Rituals bath products in the bathroom. Nice in-room tea/coffee available as well and a handy mini fridge stocked with 2 large cartons of water. I really can’t say enough good things about breakfast, it was excellent. Large variety of hot and cold breakfast fare in a buffet style as well as made to order Full Irish, Pancakes, Poached Eggs, Belgian Waffles etc. There were smoothies, lots of different cereals, juices, overnight oats, yoghurt, pastries, breads, Mediterranean style cold platters as well as the usual eggs, sausages, beans etc in the hot buffet and much much more. At only €16 it is an incredible bargain and I didn’t need to eat again until the evening. Staff were attentive and kept our coffee and tea refilled frequently. A special thank you to Lucia, Alicia and Brendon who went the extra mile to help me retrieve a suitcase accidentally left in a taxi, your kindness and efficiency made a stressful situation pretty easy and I appreciate that. I am really delighted with my stay at the Mespil and looking forward to many more stays in future.

Staff were always super friendly and attentive during our stay - Brendan on the check-in desk was great. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. Bonus points for the Rituals brand of soaps/shampoos! I also appreciated the water station and the reusable water cartons - great idea. Location was ideal for us, right beside Baggot St where there are lots of pubs and restaurants with live music etc and about 15 min walk to Stephen's Green in the same direction. There's a taxi rank right in front of the hotel which was really convenient for us. It was about 20 min drive to Heuston station (~€20). We chose to have breakfast at the hotel which I have to say was good value for money and fresh - and there was a huge variety including gluten free/veggie and healthier options. And the coffee was delicious too! Nothing
• Lewis (9/5): Exceptional hotel at a reasonable price. - The staff were about as helpful as anyone could reasonably expect. Fernando and the others at the front desk were exceptional. Housekeeping were acommodating and thorough, with what appeared to be a manager inspecting the rooms after cleaning. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were nice and comfortable. The exercise rooms were awkward with stairs and narrow hallways. Also one of the universal machines was not functioning. Nonetheless, it offered everything we wanted.
• 494MarkM494 (10/5): Hidden gem - I recently stayed at The Mespil for two nights on a trip to Dublin with my mum. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly, left our bags and went to explore the city. When we got back our room was ready and it was very comfortable and had everything we needed including an amazing shower! We slept incredibly well on both nights as the room was very quiet. Service in the bar was great with the staff being very attentive and friendly. We only had breakfast on our last morning which was beautifully cooked and a buffet available with ample options to suit all tastes. This is the first time we’ve stayed in The Mespil but certainly won’t be the last, it’s definitely a hidden gem in the city!

I stay here often for business and is the only hotel I will choose in Dublin always receiving a warm welcome back. Like a home away from home. The bedrooms are always spotless and extremely comfortable. Its great to see a mixture of international guests in the hotel and while its convenient for my business trips I stayed on a little longer this time to enjoy the city with my partner. Looking forward to coming back again soon

• RobMcGalway (10/5): This is what a hotel stay should be like. - I stayed at the Mespil for three days during a conference and it was ideal. The location was very central to the venue, which made things easy. The hotel was spotless and my room was lovely and quiet, exactly what I needed to recharge after some intense work sessions. The staff (in all areas - restaurant, bar, reception, domestic) were exceptional; they were genuinely welcoming and always had a quick "hello" or "good morning" when you passed by. Food-wise, the breakfast was brilliant. It's also in a great area, being right by the canal was perfect for getting out for a walk or a run. I’d highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

• Hasna (5/5): Très moyen pour les standards d’un hôtel 4 étoiles, pas de rapport qualité prix. - L’emplacement, l’hôtel est situé dans un quartier convenable à qui aime marcher 20 minutes pour aller au centre touristique de la ville . La quartier est calme et sur le soir . La dimension de la chambre est correcte contrairement à celle de la salle de bain petite à mon sens et pour une salle de bain d’hôtel 4 étoiles. La salle de bain à revoir complètement, le kit accueil de la sale de bain ne contenait pas plus que «  cap shower » et rien de plus. Je quitte la chambre le matin et à ma surprise au retour le soir je comprends que la femme de chambre à tout simplement tirer les draps sans les avoir changés car la vielle j’ai mis la télécommande sous les draps en dormant que je retrouve le soir après au même endroit. Il est clair que la femme de chambre a ajusté la literie et ne l’a pas changée . C’est honteux et décevant se moquer de la confiance d’un client de cette manière loin d’être professionnelle. Le petit déjeuner offert par le personnel pour se racheter d’un problème de nuisance sonore dans la chambre due à des travaux de construction dans le quartier, ne correspond pas aux standards des hôtels 4 étoiles ( pas de jus frais , pas de variété de fromage ni de viennoiserie, pas charcuterie Halal …) une offre très limitée pour les clients de confessions musulmanes et des choix Vegan )
• D5853EBsarahm (10/5): BEAUTIFUL STAY!❤️ - I don’t really leave reviews however, I’ve come on here especially to write one! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STAY!! We came over from England for my husbands 30th birthday. As we arrived we had the best surprise of having a complimentary room upgrade to a signature room, decorated with balloons, and banners, along with light up numbers “30” on the bedside! We also received a complimentary box of chocolates & 2 free welcome drinks! It was absolutely stunning & spotlessly clean! The Staff are so lovely and can’t do enough for you! Breakfast is incredible - so much choice with the option of fresh cooked items - we had the Belgian Waffles with Whipped Cream & Berries, best I’ve ever tasted! Our bathroom included shampoo, conditioner & body wash! Our room was cleaned every morning! Book here without any hesitation- you won’t be disappointed!!

• McClintock (10/5): Nothing short of amazing, I can’t wait to return already - The property was absolutely amazing, the staff were so so welcoming and the room exceeded my expectations by a mile. I will definitely stay again :) I can not fault this property at all.
• nicolemckenna1893 (10/5): Birthday stay - This was our second time staying in the mespil. We stayed on this occasion for my husbands birthday. The staff could not do enough for us. Fasheen, Cubel and Alicia looked after us so well. They treated us to a studio room which was gorgeous and even gave my husband some chocolates and a complimentary drink for his birthday. The hotel is spotless and so well maintained. We have already booked to come back in July.

• phil (8/5): Enjoyed the location, staff were superhelpful - good size rooms, veery comfortable beds The shower - just not easy to use, water went everywhere, shanpoo and soap difficult to see which is which (dont hotels realise you can where your glasses to raed in the shower The sink - took ages to drain Decor in common areas a bit dated
• cindywZ7464ME (10/5): Complimentary parking - This hotel was perfect for us as we decided to get a rental car during our 3-day visit to Dublin. The parking lot (behind the hotel) is complimentary, so be sure to arrive early to grab the spot. We returned after 10 p.m. on Saturday, and the lot was full. But we were able to park on the street for free (permit required Monday to Friday). The room itself was very modern, comfortable, and luxurious. It is too bad that the complimentary chocolate and cookies were not refilled after the first night. The bed was very comfortable, and we were able to rest up when the front desk gave us the room early at 12:30 p.m. We didn’t partake in the breakfast, but the room service is reasonable at around 15 euros/person. It is about a 15-minute walk to St. Stephen’s Green, but the walk itself was pleasant, and there are a ton of less touristy restaurants nearby.
