• MaricaP (9/5): Buona sistemazione Oltrarno - Alloggiare Oltrarno non è comodissimo se si arriva in treno (la vicina Piazza Tasso è comunque ben servita dai mezzi pubblici), ma ampiamente ripagato dal fatto di trovarsi in una zona molto più autentica e con ottime trattorie. La struttura è spartana ma adeguata e la mia camera (doppia con bagno privato) aveva anche una splendida vista. Nel complesso sistemazione consigliabile per il rapporto qualità prezzo Sarebbe bello che ci fosse un bar interno per la colazione. Portatevi l'asciugacapelli, perché è disposizione nel bagno comune ma non c'è in camera

• Ivo (8/5): - Wir wurden super beraten für unseren Aufenthalt in der Stadt sowie der Umgebung. Welche Orte spannend sind, was wir uns nicht entgehen lassen sollten, wo wir gut essen könnten. Die Lage war sehr ruhig und angenehm. Die Ausstattung beschränkt sich auf das Minimum. Ist aber im Preisvergleich nachvollziehbar.

There is no key to the bedroom, so anyone could enter it, especially since the main door was often left open, and the door to the hostel part wasn’t close every time. You could only use the exterior until 9pm. And the bathroom door wasn’t closing, so the privacy wasn’t it.

A szállásadó kedves volt, éttermi ajánlásokat is kaptunk, és kichekkolás után a csomagjainkat is otthagyhattuk, amíg mászkáltunk a városban. A szoba amit foglaltunk nagy volt, saját fürdőszobával, ami nem jár mindegyik szobához a hostelben. Légkondicionálás szuper volt.

Na primeira noite houve uma festa dentro do edifício pelo que ouvimos música até às 3h da manhã. A localização não fica exatamente no centro de florença mas é bastante perto e foi perfeito para a nossa estadia de 2 noites.

• Silvia (9/5): - Recensione di mio figlio: Ho alloggiato in questa struttura per tre giorni con la mia ragazza. Facilissimo raggiungere il centro storico a piedi in una ventina di minuti. Ostello con una forte personalità e un ragazzo che la rispecchia benissimo. Arredamento stravagante ma personalmente di mio gusto. Prezzi da concorrenza per una città come Firenze. Stanza accoglievole e presenta tutto il necessario, ma soprattutto un letto comodo e spazioso. Nonostante un inconveniente con un altro ospite il personale della struttura è stato pronto a rassicurarci e a risolvere le cose per il meglio! Ritornerei e consiglio Tasso per alloggiare qualche giorno visitando la cittá Unica pecca per gli spazi comuni è la cucina che rimane sul corridoio delle camere e direttamente di fronte alle scale, avrei preferito fosse in un ambiente più separato.

• Charlotte (3/5): Great location for a party, terrible location if you want to sleep - Firstly - I see that Ostello Tasso is a treasured community hub so I want to write as fair and balanced a review as possible. The main space in the building is great, the clearly have a very talented florist and the choices of furniture are eclectic and cool. On the Thursday night they hosted a play which I'm told was amazing and then had a great DJ on until after 3am. The staff at the hostel are very clearly pillars of the community, they are kind and very obviously commited to providing a great event space for the people of Florence - away from all the typical clubs and bars. There is evidently a lot of vision in the team behind Ostello Tasso. I stayed here on a work trip, seeing that they only hosted live music at the weekends. I was considering extending my stay but decided not to for a variety of reasons. Firstly, as others have mentioned the hostel is quite rough around the edges - my bathroom floor in particular was dirty enough that when I put the bath mat down it was brown. There were shoe marks all over the walls and I soon learned that was because mosquitoes get through the gaps in the windows. Locals have decades to gain immunity, it's very easy to forget that for newly exposed travellers - Tiger Mosquitos in particular can cause really bad reactions and make people unwell. People have been saying for years in reviews that the windows need mosquito nets and I would agree. On check out day, one of the cleaners attempted to get into my room four times in the two hours before checkout. I explained multiple times I was still in the room and packing, it was really stressful and I can see that others have mentioned this happening. It may be better for them to knock than to attempt to get into the room. I do have to say that my towels and bedding were not replaced once, despite how committed they seem to be to doing their job. The kitchen is for event staff etc only, leaving guests with a dirty little kitchenette that includes a mini-fridge and a microwave in the upstairs common area. This is by far one of the worst set-ups I have seen for a hostel, premium hostels like Generator get away with not having a full kitchen for guests because they offer affordable food on-site. It might be worth checking out some hostels like Anda and Ostello Bello, to look into their set-up. Lastly, on the Thursday I was told by a staff member in passing that they would be hosting a play that night. I stayed at the hostel for a work trip and my job requires me to stand still in contrapposto for hours on end, when I got back in the evening I was tired and my body hurt.

The place was dirty, noisy, unsafe, and not like the pictures online. Those photos is at least five years old — everything now feels old and rundown. Cleanliness was terrible: the floors were filthy, and dust covered every surface. Anyone with allergies should absolutely avoid this place. The so-called common areas were mostly locked, with no indication that guests could use them. Service was almost non-existent. There was no proper check-out, no communication, and no sense of care. Even worse, the dormitory door had no lock — twice, strangers opened it. It felt completely unsafe; anyone could have walked in. On Friday night, the hotel turned into a nightclub. While this is vaguely mentioned online, it doesn’t say how loud or how long it lasts. Music blasted from midnight until 4:30 a.m., and people lingered until nearly 6:30. It genuinely felt like trying to sleep inside the club — earplugs and bedding over my head did nothing to block the noise. I also saw club guests using the hostel corridor and toilets with no check that they returned, another security concern. I knew not to expect luxury, only a bed to sleep in — but I couldn’t even get that. Paying €50 per night for this was unacceptable. Another guest told me she had stayed here years ago and that it used to be much better before new management took over. Now, there’s nothing the owners could say or do to change my opinion. The other girls in my dormitory shared my opinion.

Et il y a des choses à découvrir dans ce coin. L’ensemble de la chambre était propre. Bonne communication avant notre arrivée. Très bon rapport qualité prix pour Florence. You can't sleep. - Be aware that if you reserve for Friday and Saturday, they throw these big parties on the lobby floor and the garden that is sound all through the building, and the party does not end until 3 am. It Is is not well written on there sight, they only mention that there is a party on Friday and Saturday they do not specify the type of party nor the time it ends and you are paying 100 euro to sleep not to hear peoplle all night. Really unsatisfied, and when I tried speaking with the team, they did not even respond to the matter. The funny thing is that not even the app booking responded to my complaint.

Je krijgt wat je aangeboden is. Niks meer en niks minder. De bedden waren matig. En een hor voor het raam is eigenlijk wel een must.

The bath room on first floor had a weird design. When someone used the inner bathroom the one using the outer toilet didn’t have access to the sink. No lock on the inner bathroom. So we had to communicate to leave door open if no one was in there and door closed ment someone was there. Description here didn’t mention fridge and microwave and no info at checkin either but as second floor they were labeled as guest fridge as well. According to here there should be a terrace but it was not shown how to access it and on leaving I understood it was through the reception area. So better info as reception.
