• Catriona (1/5): Disappointing and uncomfortable stay due to safety, hygiene and billing concerns. - T he location was central to Hanoi Old Quarter and three staff members kindly assisted us across the street on arrival. We arranged and confirmed a 7-seater airport transfer twice via Booking.com messages (price, flight details and arrival time confirmed). Our flight was delayed by one hour and we then waited over an hour at the airport with no response from the hotel. When a car arrived, it was only a 5-seater and we had to hold luggage on our laps. The driver did not know the destination address. On arrival, staff attempted to charge an additional 8% surcharge despite our Booking.com confirmation stating all taxes and fees were included. They also demanded payment for all nights upfront and attempted to charge for a 7-seater transfer that was not provided. The room conditions were unacceptable: one room had an internal balcony overlooking the lobby with no privacy, there was no soundproofing, the curtains were not blackout, and the room remained bright overnight. We found multiple hairs inside the bed sheets and had to request replacements. Towels provided had brown stains. The fire escape was blocked with stored items, making it unusable in an emergency. There was no visible security, and anyone could access the building and elevators. Due to hygiene and safety concerns, we checked out the next morning.

• Brian (9/5): Charming place in Hanoi Old Quarter, wonderful and helpful staff - This hotel is centrally located in Hanoi Old Quarter. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, giving plenty of advice on places to eat nearby, things to see in North Vietnam, the best ways to book trips (their advice was to use a travel agent, which was good advice), and more. I stayed there for seven nights, partly to see Hanoi and partly as a base in between trips to other areas of North Vietnam. They also found me a few nights to stay in between the aforementioned trips, during the busy holiday season. Highly recommended. I stayed in three different rooms. The second one was less spacious (but again, I booked it at the last minute, during the holiday season). The first one was plenty spacious and the only thing I would like to see improved is the drainage from the shower--it sent a lot of water over the bathroom floor. I hope they can fix that. Other than these small things, it's a great place, with a lot of charm and wonderful staff.

• Carol Alejandra (4/5): No me gustó - Lo mejor del hotel es la ubicación. el desayuno fue un desastre, no había comida, tuve que pedir que me hicieran unas tortitas y un jugo de naranja, el personal de cocina me dijo que ya no había, tuve que quejarme en recepción, les recordé que el horario de desayuno que ellos onen es de 7:30 en adelante y eran las 8 de la mañana, y no había nada de desayunar. me comentaron que es porque había desayunado un grupo grande, desafortunadamente les contesté diciéndoles, pues deben de tener comida para todas las personas que están alojadas en el hotel. Al final nos hicieron las tortitas. no habían vistas a la ciudad sino a un patio interior, la habitación, era pequeña y un poco calurosa, afortunadamente tenía aire acondicionado.

Most of the food was finished before 9am. Staircase was blocked with boxes and wasn’t accessible which makes it an extreme safety hazard in case of an emergency.

• Adventureali (8/5): Great hotel, great location - This was a great hotel and I was very pleased with my choice. The suite I booked looked exactly like the photos, it was very comfortable. There were heaps of power sockets, some already with USB outlets which made charging things so much easier. The breakfast was also really good and the staff supplied me with a breakfast to take with me when I had an early trip to Ha Long Bay. Communication between staff. I'd paid the day I arrived but the staff was unsure of whether I had paid when I left. Please upgrade processes so that customers don't get questioned as to whether they have paid or not when they are about to leave. It put a dampener on the whole stay.

Also the bath tub had to be filled up with the shower head and we found it leaked very badly so had to use our towels to clean up the water. Other than this it was a very comfortable hotel

• Stan (6/5): Poor sized room 😞 - The location in the Old Quarter was good. The staff were very helpful. The beds were comfortable and the place pretty clean. There were 3 of us, but the room was a double but extra folding bed put in to make in a triple. Making the room totally unusable and too small, nowhere to put luggage of three people. We had to move our third person out and pay extra. No compensation and cost us more money. Our advice is to not buy triple Room at this hotel they haven't got any.

• Faith (9/5): Good location! Friendly staff - The hotel is located in the old quarter area and is very accessible to all shops, local restaurants, and transportation. Every weekend, there is a night market, and this hotel is conveniently situated just in front of it, which is very nice! We booked a triple room on the 6th floor. The room is quite spacious, and the beds are comfy too. The staff were so friendly; cheers to Stephen and Nas, as they were very accommodating to our needs and requests. It was kind of them to allow us to leave our big luggage at the hotel for 3 days free of charge since we were traveling to Sapa. This hotel offers a good price and a good breakfast too! I highly recommend this hotel! It's just a few minutes' walk to Beer Street and cafes around. I love how this hotel is very accessible to everything—shopping, cafes, and tourist attractions. We will definitely be coming back. During our first night, the AC was not working properly. We tried to call reception, but the telephone in the room didn’t work either; there was no dial tone. We weren’t able to go down to inform reception since we were so tired and arrived very late from Sapa. So it was quite warm while we were sleeping. The next day, we informed the reception, and they took immediate action. Even though the room is quite spacious for a triple room, since we had three large luggages, there wasn't enough space to open them in the room. Maybe the hotel should consider removing some furniture in the room so that guests can have more space to walk and open their luggage.
• Marisa (2/5): Black Mold, Drain Flies, Dodgy Management - Black mold and bugs, refused to refund. We booked 2 rooms and were given 403 and 503. There was water on the floor and small water bugs in the restroom of 403, so I did not spend the night there. I showed the receptionist and they didn't have any other rooms available, so I stayed in 503 with my mom the first night, hoping to get another room the next day. We realized that 503 had water damage all along the wall connected to the tub, so water likely leaked down to 403 which was directly below it. Both rooms were very damp and the sheets felt sticky. We checked out the next day and offered to pay for that night in 503. The manager wasn't present at check-in or at check-out the next day so we were told to request a refund through hotels.com. I requested a refund, and then did not receive a follow-up a week after I had been promised one. I checked in again, and Hotels.com tried the manager again, and the manager did not approve the refund. Even if there was a cancellation policy, how would I know that the room would have mold?
• Patrick (6/5): Fun location on Market Street - Very good location in the Old Quarter. It’s on Market Street when the market operates at the weekends. Small hotel, small but comfortable and well appointed room. Limited breakfast options, understandable I guess as it’s only a small hotel

• Nguyễn (6/5): Sorry to say, but not a pleasant stay. - The prime location is the only good thing about this hotel (it's right on Hàng Đường, one of those main streets in Old Quarter). The facilities are old, and obviously not well-maintained, and somehow not clean either (the bathroom mat is just a lame old ragged towel; the shower head, the toilet are old and stained, etc). The bed was not made tidily and neatly either. Although the staff was helpful in the way they supported, but I can't say that you would have a pleasant stay here, and the medium-high price range for the rooms is purely for its location. With the same budget, you'll surely have many other better options, so choose wisely and don't make the same mistakes as I did :). The facilities are very old, the room was not tidy and clean as it should be.
• Vera (8/5): Very good - The hotel is placed in the heart of the Old Quarter but in our room it was quiet. The room is pretty small but in this area it seems to me its a norm. The breakfast was OK. As everywhere in Vietnam, if you want to pay by card, on the to there will be 3%. There was a mistake in charging extra. When we checked a bank account and then contacted the property, they sent a difference to the next hotel where we were staying.

• Danielle (7/5): Great location, basic breakfast - The breakfast was very basic but there were lots of other options within minutes walk. The wifi was excellent and the room was pleasant. The balcony had a great view. In my room there was a constant high pitched humming noise whenever the lights were on which became unbearable after a couple of nights. The shower head had visible mould inside and the shower door was difficult to close. It would be nice if there was some outdoor furniture on the balcony since there was none.

Only very minor things like the toilet seat being loose and there being no shelf in the shower.

I needed it with the 32°c and 80% humidity outside 🥵 Organised a taxi to airport at real price. $20. (Beware of taxi price from the airport on arrival should be 300k dong 😞) 24 hour front desk and most staff spoke English. Organise tours as well at good prices. Breakfast was a bit average but adequate and included in price.
• Logan (10/5): Incredibly friendly and amazing staff, great home base for Hanoi, and had BEST Ha Giang Loop Option - What made the stay for me was the incredible staff. Stephen, Hazel, Nas, and Vie were all so friendly and helpful. I stayed for 4 nights total and Stephen helped me organize and plan my adventures around and outside Hanoi including the Ha Giang loop which was amazing, can't recommend booking this tour in particular through them enough. The room was comfortable and a perfect home base for everything in Hanoi. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

• Elizabeth (9/5): Haven in the old quarter - Great location, well maintained and well finished but the staff really made it for us - friendly, helpful, patient - even made us breakfast when we checked out at 5am! Not their fault but construction next door felt relentless at times, during the day.

The staff are friendly and there is daily cleaning from the lovely cleaning staff. Special shout out to the lovely staff member who watches over breakfast and is very professional. Coffee at breakfast is excellent :) Excellent location! Usually I would have given somewhere like this a higher rating but a number of things took the rating lower. So…follow through is an issue (maybe staffing issues?) Day one: I mentioned that the light was coming off the wall and the staff member said it would be looked at…it wasn’t. It was hanging off with exposed electrical wires next to the bed all week. Day Three: Problem with the shower where either it burned your skin off or it had very little power. Said they would have someone look at it…don’t believe this happened as no improvement. NO caddies or shelves in the shower - terrible oversight. Lead to bottles littering the floor of the shower and had to leave some stuff on the cistern which meant I couldn’t close the door of the shower :( The only exposed plug point for the kettle was too high up for the kettle lead - I had to prop it up on the tissue box. So much drilling going on next door - not the hotel’s fault but I didn’t pay to have drilling starting at 7.45am by my head - went downstairs to work and the drilling was so loud I had to find another space. The breakfast offers little for vegetarians beyond eggs and fruit unfortunately. Caters very well to meat eaters though. No toilet paper and a strange smell when I arrived but these were sorted quickly. Felt as though the room may not have been occupied for a little while.
• Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place to stay, looks exactly like the pictures. They actually upgraded us to a bigger room without us asking which was really nice. Nice breakfast in the mornings. The staff were all very helpful and spoke very good English, helped to call and book a show. Unfortunately there were some construction works happening next door while we were there which is not the hotels fault at all and they did offer us to change room to get away from the noise. Also excellent location, would 100% recommend staying here
