Guest Reviews
- Edward (6/5): Very misleading - This is a studio apartment and worked OK for me I suppose ... but the description as published on hotels.com is extremely misleading. Firstly, the place is nowhere near Trafalgar Square or the position as shown on the map. It is quite a long walk away and, in fact, quite a walk from any public transport (bus, tube etc.). Secondly, it is on the third floor, up quite steep stairs - which in some places have no hand rail by which to haul yourself up. Thirdly, the furniture all seems to have been changed since the photos were taken.
So - yes, it's OK and not too badly priced (for London!😱) but I think the hotels.com entry needs a thorough re-edit as it is extremely misleading in quite a few ways as I (and a number of other reviewers) have detailed. I'm sorry but I don't think I'd choose this place again.
- Brian (8/5): Basic - yes - but perfect location for me - Ok, let's cover the challenges first - if you are looking for hotel quality service standards then look elsewhere! This place is EXACTLY as described - a BASIC, SMALL apartment (essentially a studio), in the heart of Soho that makes it an ideal location for exploration and business trips. A couple of minutes walk from Oxford Street, Oxford Circus underground station and Tottenham Court Road underground station. So it was a great 'base of operations' for me. For those that want it, the vibrant (& sometimes 'interesting'!) nightlife of Soho is on your doorstep.
So, given these pluses, be aware of what this also means. It is an apartment on a busy street in a busy part of town. So if you need perfect silence to sleep (ear plugs are provided by your hosts) then look elsewhere! Also, if you have disabilities or mobility problems, then one of the factors not well advertised is that this is a 3rd floor flat accessed via a narrow staircase - 50 quite steep steps.
The apartment itself is quite tired, but clean and perfectly adequate. I was very happy with it - ultimately you get what you pay for and this suited me better than a much more expensive hotel in the area.
One last point to note - if you don't know London well, don't be fooled by the Hotels.com location marker for this place. It is NOWHERE near the area shown!! It is the other side of Chinatown and theatre land, so a brisk 20 minute walk to Trafalgar Square etc.
Would I stay again? Yes, absolutely.
- Jessica (6/5): SoHo apartment for two - Location was after all great. The maps were all wrong and since I based all my planning on the fact that this apartment for two was supposed to be at Trafalgar Square it was a bit disappointing however SoHo was nice and restaurants and subway’s were close.
- mary (8/5): - Overall our stay was comfortable. The apartment is small but fine for two people. We reached out to the landlord once and they answered immediately, not the friendliest but took care of our issue. The shower is exceptionally small so if your a bigger person keep that in mind. Kitchen was great as was living room. There was a washing machine and drying rack that we used and appreciated it being available. The bed is a double, very firm mattress with horrible hard pillows, really my only complaint. The location is in Soho and the Underground is walkable. You will walk a lot on this visit to London. Lots of shops, restaurants and pubs everywhere. I would recommend this apartment.
- Mark (6/5): Its on the third floor - I think the review should have said it was a third floor flat, no lift and very steep tight stairs. I have breathing problems and getting up and down was a really exhausting task. The flat is exactly as shown. There is a lot of road noise but they give you earplugs for sleeping. The other major problem was the wi-fi kept failing and some sites were blocked for access. I had legal papers I had to send / receive and there were problems. The facilities were great in kitchen. Comfortable bed and linen was spotless. But bathroom sink was badly blocked so it filled with the plug up!
