Guest Reviews
- Martin (10/5): - Excellent and central
- Lisa (10/5): - Thank you, Maurizio, for offering such a wonderful place to stay for our first trip to Venice. It is beautiful, clean, well-equipped and in a great location, close to the Vaporetto and the Rialto bridge, and within easy walking distance to San Marco Square. Seeing our first Venetian sunset from the amazing rooftop terrace, glasses of complimentary sparkling wine in hand, was a lovely intro to the magical city of Venezia. We’d definitely stay here again.
- Rodrigo (10/5): - Loved my stay at La Finestra sulle Beccarie! The room was clean, spacious, and in an amazing location, close to everything but still quiet at night. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Venice!
- Mary (6/5): - The place was lovely and quiet but still very walkable for the heart of Venice. We had a couple of issues that I’d suggest checking on first, we were under the impression we could store luggage on checkout day and were told the night before that would not be available so we had to find and rent lockers at the last minute (25 euro), and while you can see water in the far distance from one of the windows in the lounge area, i think ‘canal view’
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Amazing stay here. The accommodation is exactly as pictured; clean, modern and comfortable. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a small collection of 3 rooms with a communal lounge, kitchen, reception area and rooftop terrace (a must visit!). On arrival we were thrilled to discover there were multiple extras we didnt realise we'd have - various free foods available in the communal area including cakes, granola, biscotti, yogurts, jam; a free bottle of prosecco in your room, daily coffee pods to use in the coffee machine, biscuits on arrival, still and sparkling water in the fridge in your room. It really felt like a treat to stay here and we loved enjoying our prosecco on the roof terrace - amazing 360 degree views over the rooftops of Venice!
The hotel is located in a great spot centrally to access all of Venice within a 20 minute walk easily, with an overwhelming choice of eateries nearby to enjoy. We would return her in an instant.
- Alan (10/5): - We loved this place, it was super clean, beautifully decorated, modern, and in a great location. Maurizio was great too! Highly recommended, would definitely stay here again.
- Remi (10/5): - Perfect place for a comfortable stay in Venice. Spacious and modern rooms. Shared kitchenette equipped with fridge and coffee machine. Friendly and helpful staff. The best part is the rooftop terrace with 360 view over the city.
- Skiing_D00 (10/5): Fantastic hidden gem in Venice with great customer service - We stayed here mid May 2025 for 3 days and wow what a great find for a place to stay! Its a hidden gem close the the Rialto fish markets with lots of places to eat, including a small supermarket, all around it. It's also only a few minutes walk from the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge.
Maurizio, the owner, was there to meet us on arrival and to show us round. We had a lovely double room with a comfy bed, safe, fridge, en-suite bathroom and lots of lovely little touches like chocolates and a lovely bottle of Prosecco which we enjoyed on the rooftop decking area while enjoying the skyline view of Venice. There is a shared lounge and dining area and fully equipped kitchen, should you want to prepare any food. He also provides a selection of yoghurts, fresh fruit and cakes as well as having a great coffee machine to make your own coffee. All these little extra touches made our stay extra special. We also loved the luggage storage lockers so that you could check in early an leave your luggage if your room wasn't ready and we also left our luggage here and collected it later in the day before heading to the airport. The only minor downside was the steep stairs up to the hotel but there was stair lift available for use instead if needed. By the end of our stay we found the stairs no bother and I'm sure we burned off a few calories from all the lovely cakes he left out!
We would definitely stay here again and hoping to cruise from Venice in the future so would come and stay again for a few days. Fantastic owner and great to deal with in advance if we had any questions.
- NEIL (10/5): Brilliant stay - Brilliant communication from the host and attentive throughout. The junior suite was very nice and the rooftop terrace is a real wow moment.
- Peter (10/5): - Great stay and very courteous
- Greg (10/5): A wonderful start to our Italian stay - Maurizio reached out via the Hotel.com app to check in on us. We were confused as to where we were, being on our first international trip. He kindly directed us to our rental. He met us in the lobby area and welcomed us in. He showed us around and advised us as to what the place had to offer. It had nice amenities and we enjoyed the location. A bottle of sparkling wine and water was waiting for us. After spending all day walking around Venice, it was a welcome home at the end of the day. We rested peacefully and enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
- timbo144 (10/5): Great hotel, great location, great facilities, great host. - A truely great place to stay. Our host met us on site to get us settled. A magnificent room with great soundproofing and amenities. Shared kitchen, lounge area, rooftop area (with fantastic views and seating - the owner described it as the best roof top in Venice and looking around he could be right). Daily room and shared area servicing. A lift to assist you with luggage up and down the stairs (on arrival and departure). Fantastic location right near Rialto Mercato valporetto stop.
- Antoine (10/5): - AMAZING! The owner waited for us and took the time to show us around. They offered us coffee, water, breakfast and a bottle of vino. The rooftop is incredible
- Colby (10/5): - We stayed here for two nights and it was great. Maurizio was very welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed. The kitchen was equipped with some snacks for breakfast each morning and we appreciated the filtered water dispenser, which is often hard to find. The location is great (not too crowded, but close to everything) and the rooftop views were awesome.
- chillih2013 (10/5): A great find in the Heart of Venice - A great find. Modern, clean, comfortable, with friendly owner. Location is great, easy access by water bus, near Ponte di Rialto, the Fish market and so many places to eat and drink. The roof top has stunning views and is great place for sunset drink.
- Joseph (10/5): Great Boutique Hotel in Venice - The hotel is literally in sn alleyway above a coffee/pastry shop and is up numerous stairs (like everything in Venice). Great hotel, comforable, munchies provided, hosts were present. If I had better mobility, i would go back again and again.
- Thomas (10/5): - This is a hidden gem in Venice. Location is perfect and Maurizio is a great host. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Venice
- alicebU1183KC (8/5): Fabulous - Maurizio was welcoming and very accomodating. The room was clean, the bathroom warm, the bed super comfy + we could choose between a hard and a soft pillow. The welcome gifts were much appreciated as well.
La Finestra Sulle Beccarie is a 5-min walk from the Rialto bridge which makes its location excellent.
- benoit (6/5): - Paid for a room with air conditionning but it was stop for cold saison . Then temperature in the room was around 25 celsius…
- Nicoleta (10/5): Faultless - Location and design of room/ common areas were both fantastic! Maurizio was very accommodating, gave us a great restaurant recommendation and there was a cleaner who came every day. There was a safe place to leave bags upon checkout too, everything seemed to have been thought of in advance! 10/10
- Manbir (10/5): - Nice location, clean and quiet place. Nice terrace on the top floor to enjoy the sunrise and evenings.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Great stay. The place was easy enough to find with google maps. The unit was much larger than anticipated and very tastefully decorated. As mentioned in other reviews there is a large staircase upon entry but this was not a problem for us. Our only wish was to have stayed longer! Thank you for hosting us!
- Susan (10/5): Happy times in Venice - My partner and I have enjoyed our stay in Venice. The location along with all the amenities at Le Finestra have been perfect. We would most certainly recommend this wonderful place.
- meghancraw4d (8/5): Wonderful location and the review from the roof terrace is spectacular - We really enjoyed our stay here. Great location for exploring Venice and helpful polite host. The roof terrace is ace and we had it to ourselves most evenings. Not far to walk from the water taxi stop with luggage. The stairs are a challenge but a small price to pay!
- Samantha (10/5): - We had a great stay. Fantastic property, perfect location, surrounded by good restaurants. The rooftop terrace is amazing. The owner was lovely. There’s a lot of steps so it’s advisable to travel with small cases.
- Kelly (8/5): - This property has been renovated and is beautiful. Only 3 rooms, so nice and quiet.
We had a junior suite, which has a good amount of space, and views over the Grand Canal.
There is a shared kitchen area, with snack/breakfast/tea and coffee and a sitting area, but the best thing is the roof terrace. One of the higher spots in Venice and a beautiful space to sit and relax with a wine!
Important to note. There are quite a few stairs to access the property, so probably not suited to elderly or very young children .
Also, Mosquitos are a problem in Venice. Take bug spray, and if you can, keep windows closed.
- Christopher (10/5): Recommended stay in Venice - Great location, very handy, clean room and the service was excellent. Rooftop bar is amazing.
- Jordan (10/5): La Finestra Sulle Beccarie - Amazing place to stay in Venice. The owner was very nice and accommodating. We received free coffee along with some breakfast pastries that were available to us as any time. The rooftop has a beautiful view and is also always available. Loved this place!
- Heidi (10/5): Great! - The owner is very accommodating and super kind! There are a lot of stairs up to the hotel room which is a bit cumbersome with a bag, but as long as you are aware going into it, it’s well worth it. Pack light!
- Scott (10/5): - Maurizio was a wonderful host and extremely helpful and polite. The suite was extremely clean and could have everything you wanted. A short walk to Rialto bridge topped it off.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The building is in a perfect location in central Venice, very clean, spacious, comfortable beds, large bathroom, and a balcony. My friend and I are traveling and enjoyed our stay in a quieter area of the city. There are free treats in the lobby along with free coffee that were pluses for us! While we loved the building and our apartment, we did find reception to be frustrating. After informing reception of our arrival between 6 and 6:30 pm, we arrived a bit later. We understood the frustration of us arriving 20 minutes later and apologized sincerely several times in response to each complaint. When we arrived we were repeatedly told we were in the wrong for not informing him or our arrival time earlier, however it was very frustrating that it was not let go after our continued apologies. It made us feel unwelcome since the issue was not dropped. He explained that he had attempted to reach out numerous times to establish a check in time, however we only received one email and phone call that we answered. We did not feel comfortable asking for recommendations, or communicating in any way for the duration of our stay.
Merci
- Wayne (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but I would strongly caution the stairs are a challenge!
- C7333AKdavel (10/5): Nice place centrally located as a base to explore Venice - Small but comfortable and modern room with great common area kitchen and rooftop patio. Mauricio is a great host and the guest house was centrally located ( a few minutes away from the Rialto bridge area). There are two flights of stairs that you need to walk to access the room from the ground floor. There is no elevator.
- Samantha (10/5): - This stay was lovely! Such a quiet spot to stay, very private with a lovely balcony. Service was lovely and would recommend to friends to Stay here :)
- Relax64305154877 (10/5): Literal hidden gem 💎 - What a find! With only 3 rooms, this accommodation is very personable and excellent value. It was clean, modern and just beautiful. The bed was comfy and the rooftop terrace is just wow!! The stairs are worth it, trust me! Highly recommend all round.
- Maja (10/5): - Helt fantastiskt boende, vänligt bemötande och superfina rum! Hit kommer vi gärna flera gånger. Rekommenderar detta boende!
- TimoA324 (10/5): Fantastic - Very nice, clean and fantastic location. No dedicated restaurant but location is so good that none needed. Maurizio is a great host and makes you fell like at home. Sun terrace on the roof has a view over the roofs of Venkce which is fabulous..
- Christopher (10/5): - Ours day at the property was a very welcoming and fulfilling time. It was close to the city and main attraction. We really enjoy every part of our stay. The property offered so many things.
- paulmLIV (10/5): Great hotel. Great location. Wonderful hospitality. - What a venue. Couldn't be better placed to getting around the main sites. Hotel was spotless, room was modern with a good bathroom. The host could not have been more welcoming and communication was great.
Just returned from a short 2 night stay. Couldn't recommend this highly enough and will definitely look to re-book when next visiting the city.
- Caroline (10/5): - Très joli endroit et super accueil, emplacement idéal, on recommande 1000x
- jayro85 (10/5): Fabulous! - The apartment is set in a great location, very close to the Rialto Bridge. Maurizio, the owner made us feel very welcome from the moment we stepped in. He was great with communication before our stay and was kind enough to allow us a late check in. The apartments are decorated to a high standard with a lovely communal area where you can help yourself to pastries, coffee, snacks etc. Complimentary Prosecco was provided as well as mineral water which was a nice addition. Our apartment was stylish and spacious. The rooftop terrace was an added bonus, the views were amazing. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this apartment, it’s wonderful!
- rachelewalker (10/5): Beautiful hotel that I would definitely return to! - This hotel is furnished beautifully, very modern and stylish decor throughout the private rooms and common areas. The rooms are very clean and provide a stunning view over Venice. We were in the junior suite on the top floor which is very spacious for three people. There is a rooftop lounge area which, again, provides stunning views over Venice and is accessible to all guests. The owner of the hotel is extremely friendly and welcoming and was a pleasure to speak with every morning, he showed us around the room personally as well as the various common areas such as the rooftop and kitchen. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in around the world and would definitely recommend to anyone who is travelling to Venice.
- stuartpR3372PM (10/5): What a place !!!!!!! - Just returned today 😩
From the moment we entered the building we knew we had booked the right place
The host couldn’t do enough for us
The building the decor the styling a home from home
Close to all sights and the grand canal
The views from the roof terrace over the city
We booked bed only but cereal juices cake even a welcome bottle of Prosecco and a full equipped kitchen the comfy lounge area to sit and enjoy a final tipple before retiring to our room

Stu Eileen and maya
- MNikolett11 (10/5): I can’t wait to come back here! - This apartment is truly amazing! The bedroom was clean and comfortable and i really love the stylish furniture. Mauritio was such an adorable and polite host. Despite the fact that “breakfast is not included”, we got free cakes, fruits, coffee and ÁN almost full fridge. And even a bottle of prosecco as a gift. :) I highly recommend staying here.
- David (10/5): - Mit viel Liebe zum Detail, Wahnsinns Dachterrasse, toller und vertrauensvoller Gastgeber. Falls Venedig, dann wieder dort.
- EmmaKeenan92 (10/5): First time in venice and won’t be last - It was my boyfriends and I first time in Venice. We seen La finnestra and loved it straight away. We booked the junior suite which is worth it. So much space to move about in and very comfortable. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view and very relaxing. We enjoyed our free bottle of Prosecco which we were giving in the room and took it upto the rooftop terrace. The location is great and so close to the grand canal. We are looking forward to coming back again and we will certainly be looking to book here in the future.
Be aware of the many steps the accommodation entails, as there is quite a few but so worth it once your up stairs :
- Tom (10/5): - Top Lage. Tolle Dachterasse.
- MichaelMuma (10/5): - Great location! Close to the Realto Bridge, shopping, and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I had no trouble with the stairs, but you do need to climb a long flight to gain entry.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No where in the advertisement did it mention that this property was not recommended for the elderly or slightly disabled. There were 75-100 steep, narrow stairs to ascend. We are in our 70’s and could not navigate them. We tried it twice and then booked another hotel to the price of $175.
- Brian (10/5): - The property is a quaint 3 room hotel. Newly remodeled and very nice and comfortable. Great location near the fish market, Rialto Market and Bridge. Fantastic rooftop patio with couch and chairs to watch Venice below and sip Prosecco.
- Jess (8/5): - Owners are very friendly, room was clean and very nice.
The rooftop terrace was amazing and the location is great.
Complimentary cake, biscuits and drinks were provided.
Only bad things were the stairs were very steap to get into the property but didn't mind to much. It was a pain getting the suitcases up there is an suitcase lift but when we tried to use it it wouldn't work.
A really good stay would 100 percent come back.
- g1sb (10/5): Stay here when in Venice. Just excellent. - We were warmly greeted by the host who was able to help us bring our heavy luggages up the stairs with the small elevator. Excellent addition.
The interior is beautiful and is styled with high quality modern furniture.
Beautiful roof top terrace with terrific views.
A nespresso machine available 24/7 was a very nice touch.
To top it off we had complimentary prosecco and water in our rooms.
I have stayed in Venice before and this was a much better accommodation for price. The location is also excellent - close to a vaporetto stop, alilaguna (boat that takes you to airport/back) and to major attractions.
I hope to only stay here in the future if I ever return to Venice.
Thank you for a terrific stay.
You won't regret staying here.
- marinasM2341ZF (10/5): Brimming with character - We have stayed at venice, La Finestra sulle Beccarie for a short city break and we loved it.
We chose the penthouse suit that also has access to the rooftop terrace with great views.
Welcoming hosts, decor full of character, spotless and comfortable accommodation!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Maurizio did an amazing job renovating and decortaing this place! (the location is great; 2-3 minutes from Rialto bridge)
He has thought of everything; from an elevator thing for your luggage (the staircase when you enter is steep and can be daunting, but you'll get used to them) to a place to store your luggage after check out time.
When you enter there is a big table with drinks and sweets on it and in the kitchen you'll find a Nespresso machine and fresh fruit. (all free)
And the rooftop has an amazing view!
Vielen Dank, Signore Papa!
- AF (10/5): - We had a wonderful time in Venice and was so happy with our stay here! The property is beautiful - very modern decor with rustic beams etc exposed = very cool! High quality & comfortable furnishings, clean & modern bathroom. location was perfect for us - quiet lovely neighborhood, easy to get to, close to everything. The common spaces were also very nicely outfitted with thoughtful touches everywhere like delicious snacks, coffee, tea, Beverages, champagne and chocolates in our room and even butter in frig! The BEST part of the property is an AMAZING roof deck with 360 views of Venice! Watched sunrise in the morning and had a lovely pizza and beer dinner one evening there! Our host Mauritzio dropped off some snacks for us to make it perfect! Mauritzio was the best host- so kind, thoughtful, warm and welcoming! Grazie mille Mauritzio!!!
- amanda673 (10/5): Outstanding! - We absolutely loved this guesthouse in Venice! Upon arrival, our host remotely buzzed us into the building, so that we could wait for him in the common area, beautifully appointed, with a large table laden with drinks, savories and sweets at all times, a shared kitchen, lounge area, and a small balcony overlooking a canal. Within 10 minutes, Maurizio arrived to show us to our room. Wow! The top-floor room was even prettier than the pictures we'd seen online -- a comfortable bedroom, dressing area(s!), and a large bathroom. As a couple, we felt like we had room to "settle in"; this would be perfect for a family with small children, as one room we did not even use en route to our bathroom. Our favorite part of the guesthouse is its rooftop terrace, which afforded 360-degree views of Venice. We enjoyed our morning breakfast (Nespresso pods and yogurt from the shared kitchen!), as well as our evening prosecco (we were given a bottle upon arrival). The location is wonderful, an easy 5-minute walk from the Rialto market vaporetto stop, and just a few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge. We absolutely loved our stay here, and hope to return one day. Meanwhile, we highly recommend Finestra sulle Beccarie.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mauricio was a wonderful and gracious host who communicated flawlessly. The accommodations are beautiful and the location is great. We loved the roof deck. We can’t speak highly enough of the experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location, beautiful property and a fantastic host
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at La Finestra sulle Beccarie. We began our trip to Italy in Venice, and wow -- what a start! The guesthouse is incredibly comfortable -- a common area of large table and kitchen held self-service drinks, snacks, and yogurts (as well as glassware and silverware). A small balcony at this level provides a unique vantage over a small canal.
Our room was on the next floor up, and was just beautiful. It exceeded our expectations based on what we'd seen online -- a comfortable bedroom, dressing areas, and a large bathroom. It was incredibly comfortable and good for settling in for a few days.
The roof deck was the capper -- just upstairs from our room, it provided 360 views of Venice. With both loungers and an outdoor sofa, we enjoyed morning coffee as well as pre-dinner prosecco throughout our stay.
The location was excellent. It was very easy to get to from the vaporetto, even through the fog of jet lag. Just a few minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge in San Polo, we found it to be a relief from the more crowded area on the other side of the bridge.
Our host was very kind -- extremely welcoming and ensuring that we were acquainted with our room and the space. We were very grateful for the bottle of prosecco that he welcomed us with!
As a new property with few reviews when we'd booked, I'd worried this guesthouse was too good to be true. In fact, it exceeded my initial expectations. I highly recommend it, and hope to return someday!
- Siddharth (10/5): - Great clean apartment with close proximity to Rialto Bridge. Very easy to get around anywhere in Venice. It is a short walk from Vaporetto stop.
Pros: Great location, very clean, modern and spacious room, great terrace
Cons: Narrow steep stairs 2 floors up, plus our room was 1 floor above that (but this can be anywhere in Venice as it is so tiny)
Overall very satisfied with the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location
Friendly and responsive host
No complaints, we didn’t even mind the stairs, just part of the character of the building. Over all our unit was quite nicely appointed/nicely restored.
- Kiley (10/5): - Beautiful, stylish property with views of the canal. The roof top patio was incredible - comfortable lounge furniture and a panoramic view of the Venice skyline. The owners were lovely. They gave us a map on arrival, pointing out key attractions as well as a bottle of bubbly to celebrate our anniversary!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I stayed for two evenings, and was very close to booking another hotel. They've recently opened and so whilst the facilities are modern and well designed, there were a lot of teething problems. Despite expedia listing that check in was available until late our host was very hesitant to check in later. I had to convince him! Our host could not speak english, which created great difficulties for us as we required assistance and tried to call. His wife does speak English, and she called us back a couple of hours later, once the assistance was no longer required... Simple things to improve, don't advertise English if it's not spoken, don't advertise "room with a view" when it's a concrete wall, don't advertise late or 24/7 reception when the host is an hour away and doesn't wish to check people in later. The air conditioning was broken on our arrival, and in the peak of summer it was quite unbearable in the common areas. We had a makeshift air con unit in the bedroom which was incredibly loud and required the window open all night. Please note that there are exceptionally steep stairs into the property, a great struggle with anyone carrying luggage bigger than carry on. The location is brilliant, and the decor is great, but I certainly wouldn't stay here again.
