- X254VCannec (10/5): My favorite hotel - The Sunset Tower is such an outstanding treasure right in the middle of the best part of LA. Once inside the beautiful art deco building, there is an immediate feeling of glamor and calm. The rooms are beautiful, large with great views and have sumptuous bathrooms. Be sure to have dinner or drinks in the Tower Bar. You never know who will be seated next to you.

Each staff member, breakfast in the patio, daily service, as well as the staff’s helpfulness throughout the day. This location put us in a good spot for live music at the Troubador and La Bohème. The hotel’s restaurant have a cool mix of swanky and casual in throwback clubby setting. We will be back.

The hotel, of course, was special due to its historic nature and reputation. The food and drinks exquisite. I expected those things. But it was the personnel that made it exceed expectations. Each and every person…the front desk, the valet, housekeeping, bartenders and restaurant staff was professional yet personal. They made us feel like we were the most important guest, remembered our names, treated us with comfortable courtesy. Professional but not stiff or stuffy. It is the people that truly made the difference. Highly recommend.

- Emmanuël (7/5): Algo decepcionante. - El estar en un lugar icónico, en un hotel que forma parte de la historia de la ciudad. Tener piscina. Buen tamaño de la habitación. Los muebles de la habitación son muy viejos, las puertas cierran mal, los cajones no encajan, la cama es muy blanda. El hotel necesita renovación, hay grietas, manchas, tubos vistos añadidos para conectar aparatos que destruyen la estetica art deco del lugar. El personal no es muy sonriente en general (menos Eva en la recepción). Una noche tuvimos que desalojar la habitación por alarma incendio, bajamos y el concerje nos dice "no pasa nada, ya resuelto". Podrían anunciarlo por megafonía que se ha desactivado la alarma despues de despertar a todo el mundo. Normalmente dejan cookies por la noche. Pues una noche solo dejaron una (eramos dos). No sé, una sensación de quiero y no puedo por parte del hotel.

They have a gift for making every guest feel like a movie star—remembering names, recalling preferences, and offering exactly what you need before you’ve even thought to ask. This isn’t just good service; it’s genuine care, delivered with grace and charm. To anyone reading this review and debating whether to book here over anywhere else in Los Angeles—please, do yourself a favor and make the reservation. You will not regret it. The Sunset Tower is an independent property, clearly loved by its owner, and it shows in every detail. This is not a corporate, cookie‑cutter luxury hotel where guests are merely revenue on a spreadsheet. Here, you feel the pride of a team who truly values your stay and takes joy in making it exceptional. I must also give a special thank‑you to Angel from the restaurant team. Each time we went downstairs, Angel greeted us as though we were the most important guests ever to visit. I stayed there with my 8 year old and while it's definitely geared toward grown-up visitors, the staff was friendly and welcoming to my kid and we both had a great time. The suite was beautiful and spacious (but also felt cozy!) and the bed was so comfortable. The pool was the perfect temperature and the service poolside was excellent. We ate at the Tower Bar and the food was delicious but the vibe was meh, maybe because there's clearly a section that's obviously for regular people and it's basically a hallway. Felt a little forced but that's LA. On the other hand, we loved breakfast each day and especially the amazing Barbara in the Terrace Room; she and the guys she works with will all make you feel like a VIP.

- diegoalejandrob122 (2/5): - I checked out of Sunset Tower this morning after what started as a great stay but ended in a frustrating and disappointing experience. What was meant to be a relaxing celebration for my 30th birthday turned into a night that left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. I booked a king suite for for my partner and I. At check-in, we were warmly welcomed by Megan and the front desk team and even upgraded to a Premier Suite. The hospitality and service during the day was exceptional, and I was genuinely looking forward to the rest of our stay. That night, around 8pm, four friends met us at Tower Bar for some martinis before we went out for the evening. We intended to go up to the suite briefly before leaving (30 minutes max), but at the elevator lobby were stopped by a food and beverage manager (a blonde woman with a top knot) who accused us of not being guests at the hotel. I explained to her that we were guests and gave her our room number. We were then told there was a strict four-person guest limit in rooms, even in the large (massive) suites Respecting the policy, three of our group went upstairs while I stayed downstairs with the others. A few minutes later, I returned to the suite and was shocked to find that hotel security had been sent up to our room to “check” on us, without cause, without complaint, and with no disturbance whatsoever. We were not being loud, disruptive, or violating any policies. I was told that the security team even appeared uncomfortable and confused when they realized there were, in fact, only three guests in the room, and nothing inappropriate was happening. The entire situation felt accusatory, excessive, and frankly, discriminatory. We are a more diverse group than the typical Sunset Tower clientele, and it’s hard not to feel like we were treated with unnecessary suspicion and bias because of that. To make matters worse, the two friends who stayed back at the bar had a drink spilled on them by a bartender who offered no meaningful apology. When we checked out the next morning, we shared the experience with Megan, who was again kind and professional. She apologized and acknowledged that the woman who confronted us had overstepped. She did what she could and offered a $50 credit, which was a kind and thoughtful thing to do, but now feels like a small gesture given how upsetting and inappropriate the situation was. Living in LA, we have SO many great hotel options to choose from, but I chose Sunset Tower because it is a special place. However, while the front desk staff were lovely, the way we were treated by management and security left a strong lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Hospitality is about trust, care, and respect. I haven’t felt this mistreated in a long time, let alone on such an important day. I am extremely disappointed and would like to share this experience with others.

We enjoyed dinner and breakfast overlooking the pool with an amazing view of LA. Both were delicious! We loved the amazing view and timeless classic decor of our room. Great spacious rainfall shower, fluffy luxurious bedding, Nespresso coffee. This property is run by the most thoughtful and caring staff! Natasha at the restaurant was so welcoming making us feel like we were special and cared for. Our French waiter from Bordeaux was very attentive and fun! The service was impeccable. Danny at the front desk was so sweet and kind. The iconic Tower Bar & restaurant was fabulous. The food was a 10/10! During my stay I had the lobster tacos, truffle fries, mixed greens salad, the Tower Burger (which is to die for) and more truffle fries...*chef's kiss*. I'm actually still dreaming about those lobster tacos too. Everyone at the hotel is so incredibly sweet, kind and they really go out of their way to make sure you have a phenomenal stay. My room was beautiful! Since I booked it through Amex's Fine Hotels & Resorts program, I was upgraded to a fabulous suite overlooking the pool that came with fresh chocolate chip cookies, a chocolate tower and a note welcoming me for a fabulous stay. To say that I felt spoiled would be an understatement. The minibar is complimentary, the snacks are complimentary, they really take care of you! Thank you again because I really had the most amazing stay and I didn't want to leave. The Sunset Tower Hotel and I are locked in for life! I will definitely be staying here every time I'm back in LA. :) And a special thank you to Angel, Michael, Eric at the restaurant. - HighlyKinetic (10/5): Reliving the Golden Age of Hollywood - I was split between The London, Pendry, and this art deco fabulosity. I was hesitant at first...my atopic skin knows the difference between four star and five star properties. Despite the museum quality of the historic building, her recent renovation provided modern convenience while preserving the glamour of the Golden Age of Hollywood. I booked the property through Amex and Anthony from the front desk generously upgraded us to room 906. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, and he was more than gracious to send us a bottle of Prosecco to our room...with a hand written card?! I stayed at various five star properties around the world, and I can honestly say that this was the first time a front desk staff inquired about us, actually listened, and acknowledged our joyous moment with a generous gift. Every morning, we were greeted by Tony who delivered delicious breakfast and meaningful conversations. We sat by the pool taking in the ephemeral blue sky outlined by royal palms. And cocktails. I thought West Hollywood would be full of fake people, but my experience here changed my perception. Everyone I met, from the front desk to their housekeeping staff, were real and hospitable. Overall, I will stay here again, and perhaps I'll get lucky again with room 906 with a stunning view of WeHo and silky sheets that caressed my sensitive skin. My only complaint is that this hotel should be a five star facility, not four. That's just too misleading.

- robertq570 (10/5): Always a perfect stay at the Sunset Tower - The team curated by Jeff Klein is the best hospitality team in the US....full stop.Everyone went out of their way to make my month long stay perfect. After the LA fire evacuation, feeling a little stressed, everyone was so kind to me and playful with my big dogs. They went out of their way to accommodate my dogs with special seating in the restaurants and helping me get in and out of the hotel safely. What stands out to me is how effortlessly, everyone treated the hotel guests with respect, kindness and personalized care. l come away not only having a lovely time, also feeling like you've made friends for life. Funny note.....as a guest of the hotel for decades, it just gets better and better. Unique and rare accomplishment. I know I'm going to miss mentioning many people, but please know I appreciate the entire team. Megan and her amazing team at the valet. Always friendly and welcoming and VERY helpful guarding my area as I unloaded the dogs. Ness, John and the team at the front desk. Super helpful and went out of their way to accommodate my daily requests. Special thanks to Ness. Now, the restaurants....what can I say....Mauricio, Barbara, Dimitri, Thomas, Hailey, John, Eric, Tony, Angel, Natasha.....the list goes on and on..thank you for your kindness and extra care with the dogs. So much gratitude for the friendly and outstanding service.

- Superdas (10/5): Iconic property in WeHo - The Hollywood history of this hotel exudes out of every pore! The outstanding service enhanced the pampered feeling I felt staying at the Sunset Tower! The staff truly cared that my stay was exceptional. Looking forward to seeing the refresh occurring at the property this summer!

From the little chocolate 'Sunset Tower' upon arrival in the room alongside an array of complimentary sweet treats, to the short movie of the hotel's history/past famous residents who used to live - everything seems personalised and choreographed. I will say I think the charge for the valet is a tad high ($70), alongside the attitude of 'some' of the staff being pompous and detached (but that was only one male on the front desk), there are few things to fault. Just be aware that if you were to book the standard room, it is tighter than it looks in the photograph.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Superbly Refined - This place simply exudes 1930s classical elegance. The cocktails at The Tower Bar are top-notch, and the wonderful food menu is superb! Breakfast at the terrace is beautiful, and the staff service is excellent. This is a vintage experience, and there’s a reason why it’s popular with Hollywood A-Lister’s.

- Jason (2/5): - Everything about this hotel was wrong for the minute. We walked in the door. They made a mistake of running my credit card too many times which triggered and activated a fraud alert in which they tried to say that we were either not who we were or stealing from the hotel. The bill was rectified immediately once contacted the bank and they still were aggressive. My girlfriend was even Worried for her safety. By the pool, they didn’t give us trays. Just eat off the ground. Try to get a reservation within the hotel for dinner, but they didn’t reserve tables for anybody who is staying there. They were extremely rude and after we left after only being there for four hours, they said that on the phone they have clientele that “rents by the hour“. And then proceeded to try to charge me for a night that I didn’t even stay there. Stay away from this hotel they are the worst.
- sbeshouri (10/5): Amazing experience! - A gorgeous property in a very desirable location. But the reason to stay is for the staff - the experience from start to finish was amazing. We were treated like A-listers, though we are not. The hotel has exceptional character, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the food/drinks are excellent. We look forward to a return visit soon!

Location is excellent, within walking distance of all the highlights of the Sunset Strip. It is also very private, with excellent security. It is not inexpensive, but delivers value.

The rooms were spacious for L.A. cozy, and having a natural breeze with the open window & view of L.A made it extra special! I can’t wait to return!!!

- rldn2025 (6/5): Nice restaurant but shabby rooms - Really friendly staff, great food in the restaurant and a nice atmosphere in the evening. However the bedroom was very shabby and needs a refresh at this price point - stained carpet, wires hanging down, seemingly multiple air vents, outdated aircon system and a dated bathroom with a flickering light. Definitely book a dinner reservation there but no need to stay at the property.
- 202grahamn (10/5): Historic, stylish hotel - Yes overall we really enjoyed our three night stay. The hotel was quiet due to the fires but all services were working well. Good breakfast and enjoyed one lunch beside the pool. We were expecting an upgrade but did not get it (Amex FHR) but they were apologetic and upgraded us the next morning to a beautiful suite. If you want a comfortable, stylish, historic hotel in LA this is it.

- Alessandra (1/5): Lack of attention to costumer care and bad services - Nice location I recently stayed at the Sunset Tower and unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. During our stay, the fire alarm went off in the early morning due to a mistake, with no explanation or apology provided. Additionally, we encountered issues with cold water, which were resolved only the day after. Although I reached out to express my concerns, and the general manager Mark initially proposed a meeting, but when I told him that I couldn’t do it at the time he proposed, I received no further follow-up, even after explaining that it was the day of our check-out. No apology or compensation was offered, which was disappointing given the situation. For a hotel of this caliber and the cost, I expected better communication and service recovery.
- CMGrady (10/5): Felt like a star! - Two wonderful nights at this lovely piece of LA history! Wonderful example of Art Deco architecture. The staff are welcoming, friendly and deliver excellent service. Dinner in the Tower Bar afforded us an opportunity to see two celebrities. Beds were incredibly comfortable with top quality pillows - the best I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. The soaking tub with candles was such a luxury. So many thoughtful touches. A wonderful stay! Thank you.

- Helencapp (10/5): Never disappoints....simply extraordinary! - Came last minute to WeHo/Beverly Hills area to meet our new grandson. Traveling there frequently, I reached out to a contact there who made it happen quickly and easily. We felt welcomed back, and valued as guests of the hotel and of the restaurant. They treat our older grandson like a prince when he stays over with us, and at the little elegant breakfasts we do with him. Little vacations there will be part of his core memories, and I love the staff for making it this way.
