Guest Reviews
- Sébastien (9/5): -
- anne (7/5): Very friendly. - Decent place. Rooms are nice but there are no shared areas and no breakfast. It’s above a pub, but it’s a quiet pub off the normal tourist route which is loud in some parts of Dublin. It’s not the city centre but it’s walkable. Proper Irish welcome really very nice people. No reception outside opening hours but you can phone and leave bags. Too warm at night.
- Leslie (6/5): - Staff was very friendly, room was cosy The mattress was very ‚slept-through‘ unfortunately and it was quite uncomfortable to sleep in the bed
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Carmel (10/5): -
- Colin (8/5): Okay - Reasonable priced, clean and good location. A shame the bar & restaurant were not open for quests staying there.
- Karina Viktoria (8/5): Lite koselig og enkelt hotel sentralt. - Sentralt, enkelt, hyggelig personale.
- David (8/5): -
- Ian (10/5): - Great staff, cozy room, great location.
- Crawford (9/5): -
- Nicholas (9/5): A great welcome and comfortable night in a fabulous location - Really welcoming - looked out for me despite a busy bar Nothing
- Wiltshire (10/5): Good central location - Great location and comfy room All good
- Vanessa (3/5): Not the most pleasant of stays! - Good location. We had to sleep on the floor due the bed being ridiculously noisy. The mattress was placed on top of plywood so every slight move made noise. The owner failed to discuss the problem with me himself and refused a partial refund.
- Amar (8/5): -
- Manon (8/5): - Very well welcomed
Nice location
The room was great Too hot in the room

- Zoe (9/5): Perfect for a low budget stay in Dublin that isn’t a hostel. - Paul and James are both lovely and were excellent communicators the whole way through. Extremely friendly and the room was charming. It fit our needs for our only night in Dublin perfectly. Rooms are smaller but that was expected. The shower head in our room worked but was falling off the wall in a way that made us scared to touch it much.
- Keiichi (3/5): -
- Rositsa (10/5): -
- Adam (7/5): Cosy, great location and great for a couple of nights in Dublin. - Very friendly staff, welcome drink, great location, spacious room, and refreshments in room. We were told for hygeine reasons we should sleep between two sheets on the bed - made us question cleanliness of the bedding. One towel missing on arrival but was sorted quickly. One towel was dirty (stained).
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- daniela (10/5): - Struttura pulita, personale disponibile Nulla
- Lee-Marianna (9/5): Comfortable and welcoming. - Owner was pleasant and welcoming.
- daniela (10/5): - Struttura pulita e personale accogliente Nulla
- Markéta (9/5): -
- Andrzej (10/5): - Miła , obsługa...
- Angelina (8/5): Great staff, convenient location, great value - Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent, hotel and room were clean Bed was creaky, bar was only open 4 - 8pm
- Kelly Vis (10/5): - The room was lovely and the restaurant was amazing. Paul and Dave were lovely!
- Madeleine (8/5): Overall, a stylish, comfortable, and great-value stay in an ideal location. I would definitely stay here again - My stay at McGettigan’s was fantastic. The room was gorgeous, with a beautiful, stylish interior and a clean, freshly refurbished feel. The bed was very comfortable, making it ideal for a solo traveller like myself. However, I can imagine that for two people the standard room might feel a little tight on space, although this is balanced by the excellent value for money. The location is perfect, with everything within easy walking distance. The room did get a bit warm at times, but air conditioning was provided which helped keep it comfortable.
- Rachelle (10/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): -
- J (10/5): - Staff, the cleaning, the decoration and location were all perfect especially for the price we were lucky enough to get it for in an otherwise super expensive city.
- FAUJOU (10/5): -
- Diego (10/5): - Great reception at the check in, the people at the bar at which the rooms are at helped us to bring the luggage upstairs and gave us the option to have a free drink and discount on food, we were not able to actually have the drink but the attention and stay were great!
- Konstantinos (7/5): - The facility is close to center (10 mins walk), Paul was great at communication before arriving. Overall clean small room, except the bathroom which could be in a better situation. For the price I would say it was OK. Also a nice touch that we were given receipt upon arrival. Maybe it was just our room ("Annie"), but we had issues with the mattress and the overall squeak of the bed and the floor as well as the noise from other rooms (probably upstairs). On the toilet, the seat was broken and generally it felt like it needed some renovation.
- Kelly (10/5): - Staff and food were exceptional. Room was lovely. the room was a bit too warm but they provided plenty of fans etc
- Julian (10/5): Uns hat alles super gefallen!! Absolute Weiterempfehlung - Alles perfekt!
- Elbert (9/5): Aanrader! - Zeer vriendelijk ontvangen en super schoon
- clare (9/5): Beautiful place for a city break in Dublin. - The location of the property was excellent. We couldn’t have breakfast there but the owner recommended us somewhere to eat that was fabulous. Room lovely and bed very comfy. Breakfast would have been nice and to be able to leave our luggage on site during the days.
- Simone (9/5): Alles gut.
- Marc (10/5): Lovely family owned and operated hotel above a beautiful bistro located in Dublin near the river - The owner was lovely, the property was really well maintained and in a great location and the bed was very comfortable We were sad we could only stay one night!
- Jennifer (8/5): A cozy place worth the price, but the pub was not open while we were there, that might have changed my scores, - The property was clean and in a great location. The room was so dark! They had lights but very dim, had to open curtains and turn on the television for any light,
- Niklas (9/5): -
- Serena (9/5): -
- Jake (10/5): - Paul and Dave were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Room was comfortable and food was delicious. All is great
- maria vincenza (9/5): -
- Sophie (9/5): Very nice - Comfy Nothing
- Zerbinati (7/5): -
- Bo (10/5): -
- Therese (10/5): -
- Jonathan (8/5): -
- Charley (10/5): - Amazing stay, great choice for a stay in Dublin
- Sarah (10/5): Would definitely stay again! - Very clean and everything you needed in the room. Great location too! Staff were lovely , we received a very warm welcome and loved the complimentary welcome drink! A full length mirror would’ve been handy and also the mattress had started to roll in
- Giuseppe (6/5): -
- Federica (9/5): Fantastico!
- WEE LANG (8/5): The owner was very helpful and give clear instructions and brought us to the room. Really appreciate that. Location was - Location Room and bed was very small
- Lidia (10/5): -
- Peter (7/5): - Good location, pleasant place. There was no way to control the heat. It was too warm and the only way to control it was to leave the windows open and then there was a lot of street noise.⁸
- Lorenza (8/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): -
Bettdecke hatte Flecken.
- allen (5/5): Slightly frustrated - Room okay, decent bar with food on ground level Room was very hot and temperature could not be reduced said owner/ manager, had to sleep with window wide open, not ideal next to a busy road junction. The outside temperature wasn’t even that mild
- Kathryn (9/5): - Friendly and welcoming
- Katrina (9/5): Cosy well equipt room perfect for a city break - Really lovely property. Exactly what you need for a short stay. Close enough to walk to all attractions but also out of the hustle and bustle of the city. It was VERY warm. The heat on the 2nd floor in our room was just so warm that we even had the window open and both fans (that were in the room) on in the middle of March, when usually I am one for complaining it’s always cold.
- anne (9/5): Well priced, friendly, comfortable. Not exactly central but walkable. - The property is clean and comfortable. Our first room was very large (Jim) - the second (Barney) was smaller. The owners are v friendly and local to ireland - unlike most hotels in Dublin. Nice friendly bar downstairs. Thank you Paul. The room was too warm and it was late when we were going to bed and we couldn’t work out the thermostat. We slept with the windows open, though it was a bit noisy. We sd have asked earlier how this worked.
It’s essentially rooms over a pub, so there is no reception and it’s a good idea to say when you are arriving as it’s not open until 4pm. We phoned at 11 to say we were outside and they took our bags no problem. There’s no breakfast but an excellent place just around the corner we booked parking nearby. Good tea coffee in room.
- Morag Jamieson (8/5): Rugby Fun - Great staff very welcoming and friendly. Food was lovely and the complimentary drink on arrival was a nice touch. Room was clean and bed comfy. The bathroom grout could do with a touch up, especially around shower and soap area. A few cobwebs behind door in bathroom.
- Barry (8/5): Great place to stay, would stay here again - Room had everything you needed, good location for our trip with friendly check in process. Felt it was quiet despite being just off a Luas line. Couldn’t turn the heat down - think the radiator knob wasn’t attached properly. Could probably have come got some help with this but it was late when we were going to bed so didn’t.
- Helga (10/5): Zeer tevreden authentiek hotel - Dicht bij centrum. Zeer vriendelijk uitbaters.
Zeer lekker eten.
- Michael (8/5): Great value accommodation if you want to stay central to Dublin. - Location is fantastic. Could walk to Temple Bar in about 20 minutes. Right near a tram stop too. Comfortable room and quiet despite being above a pub. Radiator in the room seemed to be on permanently so the room was pretty hot most of the time.
- Anthony (10/5): - The hosts made me feel welcome. Location is near nuttbutter and the river. Cute room. N/A
- Ludovico (8/5): -
- Julie (9/5): - I stayed in the Patricia room and it was perfect for me! Paul was also very kind and made me feel welcome immediately. Thank you, I will be back. There was quite a loud noise in the room, I couldn't locate what it was. All things considered, for a short stay it wasn't a big deal.
- mathieu (9/5): - Simple but clean and functional. Good location. Only one power source was working in the room.
- Chelsea (10/5): - The convenient location, Paul and Dave were brilliant throughout our stay . Nothing was too much trouble for them Nothing
- danikyali (9/5): - The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Paul. The room was nice and clean. The room was really hot but there was a fan and AC unit which really helped.
- Natalie (10/5): A fantastic please to stay, Paul and Dave were wonderful and made our weekend fantastic and really went above and beyond - Fantastic owners, Paul and Dave were so accommodating and incredibly caring and helpful.
Great location a 20 minute walk from Temple Bar and the tourist attractions. However the location was perfect and lovely bars and restaurants near the townhouse. The rooms were very very hot, couldn’t turn the heating down
- Guest (10/5): Fantastic pub, restaurant & hotel - Where do I start. . . approx 20 friends stayed here for 2 nights and it was just fantastic.
Paul was just the best host you could have wished for!!!! Going above and beyond for us.
The food was also incredible, alot of friends recommend the Burgers or Ribs.
Lovely pub 👌
Location was also perfect, cheaper food and drink prices compared to across the river. 2 minute walk to the airport bus and 15 mins walk to Temple Bar.
Can't wait to book again!! The temperature of the rooms were very warm. Windows wide open and fans on full but still warm
- Barbara (10/5): It was a special experience and a taste of Irish hospitality. - The staff and owners are wonderful people.
- Boudewijn (1/5): Terrible stay. We arrived and were told there was currently no hot water. They didn’t fix this for our entire weekend st - The location was not bad. There was no hot water for the entire stay. No fixes, bad communication.
