If this is not possible please ask Pulitzer Amsterdam for the third party authorization form. Dogs are allowed up to 10 KG (knee height). They are not allowed in public area's, only in the room. Additional cleaning fees are 50 EUR per night. Please note that the Classic and Deluxe rooms are not able to accommodate an extra bed. Only the Executive room can accommodate up to 1 extra bed. This was the sole hotel on a 10 day trip with my 82 year old mother in which we weren’t immediately offered a (slightly) early check in. A mixup with the room type was rectified, but I had to complain. They moved us and offered breakfast. Accommodations were not as luxurious as I would hope for 5 stars and the price. Jansz restaurant staff were lovely.

En un hotel de 5* esperas que la persona de limpieza lo traslade al departamento correspondiente. - La persona de limpieza entró el día de salida a las 9 a la habitación aún habiendo el cartel en la puerta de no molestar. Una vez dentro, y yo en ropa interior, en lugar de disculparse y salir se quedó allí diciendo tonterías como :” all good?”. Le tuve que pedir que saliera y me quedé atónita de lo ocurrido. - A las 22h cierran el bar y no hay opción de beber algo en el hotel tranquilamente. Sólo hay el night club.

Surfnyc212 (10/5): Bedankje Pulitzer. - We have one more full day at The Pulitzer, check out on the day after tomorrow. The whole staff has been great. Canal cruise with Jan, a local and a funny guy, funny enough to be invited to do warm-up for Wanda Sykes. Staying in the Wool House and if we get to have the same room, the next time we come back, I’m sure we would like it the second time as much as we’ve liked it the first time. If you don’t like style and sophistication, this might not be the hotel for you. Comfortable bed, great bathroom, good lighting, quite enough for this New York City couple. The location was great for everything we like and wanted,… restaurants, shopping, spring time with leaves coming out on the trees and flowers planting all around. In a way, I almost don’t want to pump this place because I don’t want it to get more popular and more expensive and harder to get in when we come back again. Bedankje Pulitzer.
deacong205 (10/5): Perfection - There is a large possibility that this would be the nicest hotel you’ll ever go to. I mean the rooms are spectacular and just downright beautiful. And the location is just perfect!!! Right on a canal and a 2 minute walk to the Anne frank house and a 5 minute walk to the Dam Square. And the staff, believe me when I say that they are some of the kindest people I ever met. They were patient and helpful and all of the above. Insanely clean also, like spotless clean. But. Just a warning, DO NOT turn the shower to the hottest setting. I got a 1-2 degree burn on my shoulder because of how hot It was. But other than that it was great. Breakfast was great too!

The location alone would have sold it to us. Right in the heart of Amsterdam’s Nine Streets, it puts you in the middle of everything – yet somehow feels completely calm and private. On King’s Day, that balance becomes priceless. Being able to step out into the energy, colour and chaos of the celebrations, then return to a peaceful, beautifully run hotel just moments away, made the whole experience. What really sets this place apart, though, is how it’s run. The hotel being reserved exclusively for guests meant it never felt crowded or overwhelming. You could dip in and out of the day exactly as you pleased. The garden deserves a special mention. It is unlike anything we have experienced in a city centre hotel. It feels like your own private square – elegant, quiet, with beautifully maintained landscaping, church bells gently in the background, and a heated outdoor space that made it comfortable all day. We were lucky with the weather and spent hours there. To have that kind of space, in that location, is incredibly rare. From the moment we arrived, the service was on another level – and Elysia, in particular, was exceptional. Her welcome was warm, calm and effortlessly professional, and she immediately made us feel completely at ease. She has that rare ability to read guests perfectly – knowing when to step in, when to offer help, and doing so with genuine care and confidence. Being offered a private space to freshen up before our room was ready was such a thoughtful touch, but it was the way she handled everything – with poise, kindness and complete control – that really stood out. During our stay, something happened that could easily have ruined the trip – my mum was injured and needed to go to hospital. What followed is the reason I’m writing this review. Elysia and the wider team handled everything with such calmness, empathy and professionalism. In what was a stressful and uncertain moment for us, she was reassuring, organised and quietly supportive in a way that made a real difference. She took away so much of the pressure, and we felt genuinely looked after throughout. That kind of service is incredibly rare, and it is something we will not forget. That level of thoughtfulness continued throughout the stay. A handwritten note, flowers, chocolates, and a late check-out – none of it expected, all of it appreciated. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful – stylish, comfortable, and clearly designed with real attention to detail. The minibar was well stocked, but what really stood out was the WhatsApp concierge. Some hotels offer this now, but few do it properly. Here, it was exceptional – fast, responsive, genuinely helpful, and available whenever we needed it. It made everything effortless, from restaurant bookings to general recommendations. We have stayed in many of Amsterdam’s top hotels – the Conservatorium, Waldorf Astoria, The Dylan, Soho House, The Ned – and this was, without question, the best experience we have had. Not just because of the setting or the design, but because of the people and the way they made us feel. We will absolutely be returning next year for King’s Day, and there is no question where we will stay. Next time, just the two of us – and for longer.

Tra questi il fatto che il giorno del check in ci è stata consegnata la chive senza ricevere info sulla struttura ( nemmeno orario colazione o dove fosse la nostra stanza ), il secondo giorno siamo tornati in hotel alle 17 e la stanza non era stata ancora rifatta nonostante avessimo anche appeso il cartellino con scritto per favore di rifarla , per sedersi a colazione abbiamo dovuto aspettare 20 minuti perché non bevano abbastanza spazio. Broderick301 (4/5): My, how the mighty have fallen! - Stayed here a few years ago. Loved it. Gorgeous. Friendly. Wonderful stay. This trip, wow! How the mighty have fallen! Trouble started at checkin and lasted almost the entire stay. Asked to be close to our elder mother staying alone. Told not a problem. Can't be next door, but for sure on the same floor. Great. Nope. They put her on another floor. Once she was in the room settling in, a staff member merely walked into room as if no big deal. Later than evening, her key did not work on the door. No washcloths. Told there were "out of them." The next day cleaning the rooms, they left a used washcloth in the shower. (She borrowed from us.) There is a porthole from the room to the toilet. Yes, an operable porthole. And oddly, at the bar, no olives for martinis? They did address the issue on the second day, and committed to doing better and removed a bar charge to compensate us for the trouble. A few positives: The shower was great. The bed very comfortable. The AC worked in the room. We are returning to Amsterdam in December for an other trip, but we are not staying here again. Sad.
467marissae (10/5): Amsterdam- Love at First Sight - What a lovely experience! We stayed in a family canal suite and were blown away by the character, space, and charm. We were welcomed with a fabulous chocolate raspberry cake, a bottle of champagne and a free round of the mini bar- I've traveled a lot and never had that final gift. What a perk for a high level room. Everything was clean. Housekeeping did a fabulous job. The location is awesome! Food in the little lunch garden restaurant was delicious. We did a private boat tour and our guide was hilarious and well informed. I would not hesitate to stay again! And now that my daughter has an interest in attending university here, I'm sure to be back. But that is how much she fell in love with the city- and the hotel did not hurt!!

824maural (6/5): Expected more - This is a perfectly fine place to stay, but don't expept a luxury hotel. The lobby, hallways (some rooms require stairs to get there) and room seemed dark and a little tired. Bath towels were thin and discolored. The restaurants we ate at were just fine, nothing special. I'm hoping they are renovating the rooms and they just haven't gotten to the one we stayed in yet. I shared my feedback with the hotel and they were very gracious, despite my "meh" review.

StrollMyWorld (10/5): The test of a business is in how they respond to adversity - The real test of a business isn’t perfection, but the response when an experience of less than optimal is encountered. Anne Martin, the head of Guest Relations at The Pulitzer, proved not only her love of this establishment, but why, she has earned her place in charge of guest relations and ensures every guest receives a five star experience. Anne’s response to our concern was first met by listening, then questioning to clarify, and then by seeking to understand what would be needed for resolution to occur. After we spoke, Anne went to work to ensure our situation was handled timely, came back to provide us with timely updates, and then, to top it all off, came in early the next morning to ensure we had a smooth departure. As we drove away she checked in one last time, and then stood and waved goodbye from the hotel entrance as the taxi took us to the airport. Problems happen. Misunderstandings and missed expectations happen. This is life. How a hotel responds to those moments is what defines its’ longevity and success. To the General Manager of The Pulitzer - Anne Martin is a treasure - your five star treasure.

Our room was only accessible by four stairs cases. I do not know if there was a way to advise before hand of wife’s difficulty with stairs, but when we arrived it should have been clear to the desk that assigning us a room with multiple staircases was not a good idea. Secondly, we booked the same type of room we have stayed in previously, but the room seemed to be significantly s all than before. Lastly, room was not serviced until nearly 1700 on Sunday afternoon.

Tables appeared to be cleared by brushing food debris directly onto the floor, leaving visible food remnants. More concerning was the presence of ants in the sugar, which was acknowledged but not handled in a particularly reassuring or proactive manner. Overall, there seemed to be inconsistencies in housekeeping standards and a lack of visible management or supervision. Lovely boutique hotel, as far as this goes, on the larger size of “boutique”. However that gives you some perks, like gym, spa and ample gatherings spaces. Here is the run down of 10/10: Lovely room. Amazing ambiance. Excellent bed and bedding. Amazing view (we had canal view room). Very friendly hotel staff, truly ambassadors of the city. Amazing breakfast! Please try Ginger tea. Superb bar. Very nice spa space with kind and helpful staff. As an additional perk, truly great places to get a coffee, hot chocolate, glass of wine or dinner, all walking distance. We are talking across the street or may be a block or two walk. Truly great location. Overall, loved it. We miss it already.

His warmth, professionalism, and generosity were exceptional, and he made us feel genuinely welcome and wonderfully looked after from start to finish. The hotel itself is extraordinary. The rooms are beautiful, and the entire property has the feeling of staying in a historic home, but with every modern comfort one could want. The location is ideal, and everything about the experience felt both elegant and deeply comfortable. My children have not stopped talking about how comfortable the beds were, which may be the highest praise of all. It is rare to encounter a place with so much character, charm, and genuine hospitality. Because of this experience, I leave the Pulitzer as a truly grateful and loyal fan, and I will gladly recommend it to friends.

499david (10/5): Highly Recommended - We have stayed here on a number of occasions before and return because this is truly a 5 star hotel in a wonderful location, every room has its own character and the style of all the individual houses that have been combined to create this hotel has been wonderfully preserved. The staff are wonderful. They never walk past you without a smile and an acknowledgement. Every request is immediately dealt with, nothing is ever too much trouble. I unfortunately had an accident whilst in my room and cut myself. Within moments of my wife seeking help two security officers arrived with a first aid kit and provided welcome advice and assistance. Very highly recommended.

Superb location, beautiful buildings, fantastic service and generally just a great vibe. The room was a good size, bed very comfortable and lovely marble bathroom. Breakfast too was really good. The hotel is in the heart of the nine streets area. Loads of little independent shops and food places. We also went out on the hotel’s beautiful ‘The Tourist’ boat on a cruise around the canals. Well worth doing. Lots of information from Captain Nils. Finally taken to the airport by super friendly Saiid who was just lovely. All in all a great hotel. Stayed an extra 4 days so got upgrade to a suite, so nice and bright roomy. Loved the artwork and kwirky additions to the historical buildings. Staff were all very helpful and friendly 😊 Didn’t love the breaky but easy walk to many options.
