Guest Reviews
- marcus (10/5): Just great, a little gem. - As soon as you check-in to the Brownswood, you understand the high rating on Booking.com. The place is comfortable, friendly, excellent value for money with the bonus of a really nice pub (garden) downstairs. The room is on a busy street, which didn't bother me but if you're a light sleeper, it might not be for you.

- Handley (9/5): I really enjoyed my stay. - Great place! clean, comfortable, stylish, above a fabulous pub with delicious food (but still quiet in the room). Near to a park if you like a stroll and 10 mins walk to the tube. If you want to be on this side of town, this is the perfect spot. A little far from museums and some tourist spots, but it was nice to be away from this as well.

- Margaret (10/5): - The bed was incredibly comfortable (especially the pillows!). The room was clean and smelled nice, and the shower was super hot and had great water pressure. I appreciated that there were both herbal teas (non-caffeinated) and other teas in the room. I loved the peaceful little continental breakfasts with fresh fruit and a variety of options. My only suggestion would be to put lotion in the bathrooms like you have shower gel. It's important for dry, dusty travelers! I also think it might be helpful to offer earplugs or something to people staying in the rooms that face the busy street. I had some of my own so it was no problem, but that street does get pretty loud and it's hard to cool the room down on a hot night without having the window open.

- Kian (10/5): Schönes Zimmer für einen Kurzurlaub - Großes Zimmer, top Bett, gutes Pub Essen Zimmer etwas hellhörig
- Orla (8/5): - Great place when visiting London. We spent two nights at Brownswood and can't fault it. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I'm a big fan of Rituals so was very happy this was provided in the bathroom.
It's a little out of the way from Central London but plenty of public transport options, we opted for the Piccadilly Line from Manor House, about 10mins walk from the property. Breakfast was provided, options of cereals, yoghurt, parfaits and cold cuts and some pastry options. There's outside noise from the main road so if you're a light sleeper definitely bring earplugs.

- Maria giuliana (10/5): Gradevole - Tutto Nulla tutto perfetto
- Isabelle (10/5): Wonderful! - The location was great and the rooms were really clean, spacious, well decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious with a nice selection and we were well attended to by staff. A small fridge in the room for cold waters would have been an extra bonus.

Śniadania były dosyć ubogie i monotonne.

- David (10/5): Fabulous - Our room was spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable. The staff were friendly. The continental breakfast was excellent. The location is a short walk from the underground ( Piccadilly Line) with fast access to central London
- Kathleen (10/5): Will be back! - Comfortable room. Staff friendly and helpful. Had a brief issue with availability of hot water in shower but fixed quickly. Lots of noise from garden in the evening but no big deal.
- Samantha (10/5): Wonderful stay, great boutique hotel and helpful staff - Very good location for the tube (about 15 minute walk from Manor House tube station), local shops, cafes and park. Loved the room, quirky, well decorated boutique style, great bathroom with a power shower. All very clean. Our room was on the side, and quiet. You do need to tackle flights of stairs to get to the room, so not good if your mobility is limited. Continental breakfast was a great selection, toast, pastries, fresh fruit and fresh homemade yoghurt pots and granola. Deeta was so friendly and helpful. Maybe for the pub to have been open to serve lunch, but not a big deal as there are so many places around to eat.
- Barbara (9/5): - Delightful staff, nice breakfast. No lift. Bags must be carried upstairs, however staff carried them for us!

- Toni (10/5): Check in was easy and pleasant, the room was comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. I wish we could have stayed lo - The room was clean and decorated beautifully. The bed and pillow were very comfortable. The shower was a good temperature and powerful and the Ritual shower gel and shampoo was a nice touch. The breakfast included was very nice and the service was lovely.

- Matthew (8/5): A great venue, nice and relaxed, we’ll definitely return. - This was our second stay at The Brownswood, great location just a short walk to Manor Tube Station. Good food and beer, with home from home rooms. The continental breakfast was very good with a more than adequate choice. No desserts or hot drinks available even if you’re dining.
Nothing to do with the establishment but the noise from other guests was horrendous, loud voices and doors slamming late at night.
- Eamonn (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay, staff were friendly and helpful. I would hope they address the safety concerns I mentioned. - Clean, spacious and within walking distance of tube station Breakfast offer was ok but could be improved. No fire escape from our room (room one) on top floor or any instruction on emergency exiting in event of fire.
- Chris (10/5): The perfect place to stay when visiting the Emirates Stadium. - Cosy and friendly
- Andrew (10/5): excellent - everything Barman rude
- Zbynek (10/5): -
- Gamble (9/5): - Everything was lovely the rooms where very nice and clean. The breakfast was lovely. The staff where really welcoming Is a bit noisy due to the road outside.
- LAURA (9/5): Lovely stay :) - Wasn’t sure what to expect with it being above a pub, but it was genuinely a really comfortable stay. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable with everything we needed Lovely staff, clean room, comfortable bed and lovely breakfast! We were even late to breakfast due to getting the wrong time, we felt awful but the staff made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed,
- Fiona (10/5): - The twin room was spacious, comfortable and warm. It had a great shower and bathroom that was very clean. I ordered the fish and chips for dinner but the fish had so much salt on it that it was difficult to eat.

- Wolfgang (8/5): Neuen Stadtteil Londons erfahren und guten Pub ! - Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter.

- Kim (10/5): A very comfortable and hospitable guest house - The Brownswood is a very comfortable, clean and well run pub and guest house. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We ate at the pub twice and both times thoroughly enjoyed the food. The breakfast was excellent and lovely lady who served us made it a very pleasant experience. Dita went above and beyond, she kindly posted my sunglasses to me as I left them under the bed !! Nothing
- Nigel (10/5): Superb - Great location and very comfortable
- Kat (10/5): Lovely rooms, very friendly staff, would definitely come back! - Rooms and friendly team N/A
- Kat (10/5): Exceptional stay, fantastic rooms and truly wonderful staff! - Beautiful rooms, everything was squeaky clean, absolutely lovely staff. The rooms were very hot, however the hotel provided each room with good Dyson fan.
- Janice (10/5): - The location was perfect
- Julie (9/5): Great little hotel. Fab bathroom. - Great little hotel and ideal for what we wanted. Not the properties fault but it was so hot the night we stayed. Opened the windows and think we let in mozzies as my friend got quite a few bites. There was a decent fan though
- Danilo (9/5): -
- Dalia (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the room has everything it needed and the breakfast was of a good standard There was quite some noise at night time coming from the road outside and the window glazing wasn't thick enough to block it
- Daniela (9/5): -
- Callum (9/5): Excellent - We arrived later then the check in time and we where still able to get our key and to our room very easily , the cleaning staff and others where all very nice and helpful. The beds were massive and comfy as, it was hot weather and very hot in there but they provided you with a top quality fan. They have everything you need if you have forgotten it , good smelling shower gel and shampoo , etc . The shower was brilliant too. Just all round good and very nice stay. Would definitely stay again ! N/a
- Jennifer (10/5): Stunning, spacious and clean room! Amazing value for money & the staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t faul - The room was beautiful, super spacious and very clean! We were greeted by Ella , who was lovely and welcoming. We left a pair of straighteners in our room and Ella contacted us right away, and helped us by packaging our item so we could arrange a courier collection.
- Hannah (10/5): A haven above a traditional London boozer - 10/10 doesn’t seem good enough for this absolute gem! Everything about our stay was really special, and I can’t wait to come back!
We booked this room as we were attending a concert in Alexandra Palace. This property was quite close (about 2miles), and it also seemed the best place in the area (the standard of other properties close by didn’t seem too great).
Upon arrival to The Brownswood we were greeted by the sweetest employee, who took her time to thoroughly show us around the property, the key operating system and the breakfast room in preparation for the next day. She then showed us to our room, and What a room it was! It was spotlessly clean with everything we might need for our stay, including toiletries, a well stocked tea tray, lovely fluffy towels, and the reason I booked the room… a huge bath at the end of the bed!
We went off to the concert and returned back to the pub about 11.30pm, the pub was still open but the kitchen had closed so we asked the landlord if we could please order food, he was more than happy to allow this, and provided us with plates and cutlery to use. Furthermore, he asked if he could get us any drinks, and when I asked for a cup of tea (which they don’t usually do in the bar) he went out of his way to find me some teabags so he could make sure I got a cup of tea!
I had requested a late check out, as we wanted a lazy morning the next day, and I was delighted to be given an extra hour in the room. So the next morning, after a full nights sleep in the most comfy bed, we decided to go down to the breakfast room and ask if we could take a few bits up to the room. The lady could not have been more helpful, she promptly got a tray and plates with cutlery, so we could have our leisurely, lazy breakfast upstairs. The breakfast layout, and the food that was had was lovely, all fresh and clearly good quality. -
- Kristine (9/5): Superb -
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - Great location for Finsbury Park, lovely pub and staff. We ate downstairs and had drinks in the beer garden during our stay. Beds were comfy and lovely quiet breakfast area. As it's an old building don't expect aircon, there was a decent fan in the room but if you struggle with the heat it's not for you.
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent staff, room and location. Will be staying again and def make sure to stay & enjoy the roast they served do - The room my friend and I had was really spacious and was a lovely room, comfortable beds and bathroom excellent. Staff were warm and friendly and proved a great spot for a weekend away. Nothing

Room was comfortable but directly under the roof so it was very hot Too hot - Air conditioning or a fan
Small bathroom. Nowhere to put wash bag and shower was a bit tight
- Jessica (10/5): Short but pleasant - Close to the tube line and lots of green spaces N/a
- Healy (9/5): Lovely Hotel, Good location - Oscar and his team were very helpful and friendly. Noise from the Beer garden
- Charlene (8/5): Really lovely stay, just too hot in the room overnight. - The vibe of the pub and the accommodation being slightly tucked away. How secure everywhere felt. The room was cute and very cosy. Lovely touches with Rituals soap and shampoo. No air con in the room and it was extremely hot overnight. A Dyson tower fan was supplied, but did very little to cool the room. No plugs near the mirror, so getting ready was difficult.
- Molly (10/5): What a lovely place! Great location, lovely staff, beer & food too! Rooms were so tidy & clean. The breakfast in - What a lovely place! Great location, lovely staff, beer & food too! Good breakfast. Our superior room was on the third floor with narrow stairs and no elevator and would be impossible for a handicapped person to reach. The room did not have a closet and there were no stands to hold our luggage.
- Wan (10/5): Exceptional -
