- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Location for Opera, but Falls Short on Value - We stayed at the Grand Hotel Bregenz during the opera season and booked a junior suite for around EUR 500 per night – so expectations were high. The location was a highlight – right between the train station and the Bregenz Opera, perfect for attending performances. However, you can’t really see the lake from the room as a park blocks the view. Check-in was mixed – there’s a dedicated desk for ALL loyalty members, but it wasn’t enforced, so we waited in line with everyone else despite having status. The suite itself was large, modern, and spotless, but faced the parking lot with no balcony – not ideal for the price. The biggest surprise was the SPA – not heavily advertised but truly relaxing. We enjoyed the indoor pool and saunas, which were quiet and well-kept. Breakfast was frustrating. A confusing booking system meant several tables were “reserved” but unoccupied while other guests, including us, had to wait. No structured queue made it feel chaotic. Once seated, the buffet was good – fresh fruit and decent variety – but we later discovered there’s a hidden à la carte menu (omelettes, etc.) that’s not offered to all guests. That felt unfair. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with some downsides. The price-to-quality ratio was below expectations – I expected more consistency and attention to detail for this level of pricing.

- Elke (8/5): Schönes Hotel nahe Festspielhaus - Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Große Früchte/Brot/Wurst&Käse Auswahl. Das Festspielhaus ist in Laufnähe. Wir hatten ein Executive Zimmer mit Balkon. Die Größe des Zimmers war gut. Leider waren die kopfkissen etwas zu dick. Wir haben keine Rechnung für die Nebenkosten erhalten, das war sehr schade. Wurde auch nicht zugeschickt.

- Christine (8/5): - Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen. Man ist in 2 Gehminuten am See oder am Bahnhof. Auch die Innenstadt ist schnell zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir waren für fünf Tage im Grand Hotel untergebracht. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, allerdings ist für zwei Personen wenig Stauraum und ich würde mich über ein paar Kleiderbügel mehr freuen. Für Tagungsgäste allerdings ausreichend Platz, denn diese übernachten ja meistens nur ein bis zwei Tage. Die Frühstücksauswahl war riesig. Wurst, Käse, Obst, alles frisch. Uns mangelte es an nichts. Wir konnten jeden Tag draußen sitzen, was sehr schön war. Nebenbei noch die Proben von den Festspielen hören können. Der Wellness Bereich hat uns gut gefallen. Perfekt zum entspannen nach einer Wanderung oder einer Radtour. Leider wurde vor dem Pool seit unserer Ankunft bis zu unserer Abreise nicht sauber gemacht. Es waren deutliche Schmutzspuren von Straßenschuhen zu erkennen. Hat wohl jemand vergessen, dass man dort Badeschuhe trägt. :-( Alles in allem, haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können es weiterempfehlen.

We were a week before high season so they didn't yet have full restaurant service, but the bar was fine for coffee, drinks and snacks. We'd definitely stay here again.

- Jacqueline (6/5): - Schöner Saunabereich, Frühstück sehr reichhaltig und viel Auswahl, gute Lage. Das Bett hatte einen merkwürdig dicken Topper auf der Matratze. Es war unbequem. Am letzten Tag erst gesehen, dass er total dreckig war! Schlechte Luft im Zimmer, sehr staubig. Fenster ließ sich nur ganz öffnen oder gar nicht. Dusche und Bad sauber. Klospülung und Lüftung im Bad funktionieren gar nicht, Klobürste eklig dreckig. Freundlichkeit an der Rezeption ok, nicht wirklich aufmerksam. Wir haben für 660€ für 3 Nächte mehr erwartet, was das Zimmer angeht.

- Bahar (10/5): - PRO: - Top Lage. Direkt am Bodensee. 100 Meter zu Fuß erreichbar. Man ist in 10 Min. zu Fuß in der Altstadt. - Sauberkeit: dazu kann ich nicht viel sagen, da wir für 2 Nächte darauf verzichtet hatten. Bei Verzicht geht nämlich eine Spende an die armen Kinder in Afrika raus (tolle Idee, Respekt!). Jedoch haben wir täglich neue Hand- und Badetücher erhalten. Scheint jedoch sehr sauber zu sein. - Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen, top! Auch der Frühstücksbereich ist sehr modern und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. - Parkplätze direkt vor dem Hotel für 8€ pro Tag. CONTRA: - Das Hotel liegt direkt nebenan vom Casino. Das öffentliche Parkplatz des Casinos ist rieisig. Das Parkplatz des Hotels dagegen winzig. Wenn man einmal mit dem Auto razsgefahren ist, war es nicht einfach, wieder ein Platz zu bekommen. TIPP: - Pfänderbahn Bregenz! Eine sensationelle Aussicht während und am Ende der Fahrt mit Panoramablick auf Bregenz. Oben erwartet euch auch eine kleine Reise in den Tierpark, sowie ein Wanderweg. - Insel Lindau und die Altstadt ist sehenswert und ist mit dem Auto von diesem Hotel gerade 15 Minuten entfernt. Kurzgefasst: Das Hotel ist definitiv zu empfehlen!

Das einzige was es zu bemerken gibt ist der etwas kleine Wellnessbereich, man findet fast kein Platz, bei nur 4 Liegestühlen, jedoch genoss ich es trotzdem nach einer kurzen Wartezeit! Das Grand Hotel ist ja auch kein wellnesshotel. Wie schon bei verherigen besuchen genossen wir den kurzen Aufenthalt im Grand Hotel. Dank!

- Christian (10/5): Awesome place! - An absolutely fantastic experience staying here again. Completely renovated and much improved. The wellness area is nice, the staff’s service is excellent, and the breakfast is second to none. Our kids loved it as well.

Little confusing when we arrived. The area around the property is very run down, and not well kept. Lots of leaves and trash on sidewalks. Had a creepy vibe, especially at night. Not far from the lake. But, lake was packed with tourists. No great place to get coffee or good food right near the hotel

- Christina (10/5): - Das Hotel ist wunderbar. Der Service ist sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer ist sehr modern und sauber.. Man bekommt jeden Tag 2 Flaschen kostenlos Wasser. Das ist super.Das einzige unschöne ist das Bad mit der alten Duschbadewanne. Man muss sehr sportlich sein. Die Duschbadewanne ist auch ein wenig im außen Bereich mit Schimmel behaftet. In den oberen Stockwerken ist das Zimmer bestimmt vom Ausblick schöner als im 1. Stock.

- Heiko (4/5): - Ein Pluspunkt war die sehr gute Lage des Hotels. Die Verdoppelung der Zimmerpreise waren zu fast erwarten. Leider konnte der Service nicht mit den Preisen mithalten. Das Servicepersonal machte den Eindruck noch in der Ausbildung zu sein. Kann man auch akzeptieren, aber nur unter der Anleitung einer bewährten Servicekraft. Hochwertige Spirituosen waren nicht mehr vorrätig und das in der Hochsaison. Eine Flasche Dom Perignon in der Auslage macht das leider nicht besser. Man kann das junge Personal nur bedauern und hoffen das die Verantwortlichen bald ausgetauscht werden. Leider kann ich weiter nichts Positives berichten.

Le sourire se paie-t-il à part? Les clients ne sont pas tous des jours de casino et méritent un accueil chaleureux digne du nombre d'étoiles de votre hôtel. Personnel de la restauration étonnant: choix de la table le soir imposée, alors que seules deux tables étaient occupées à notre arrivée. Petit-déjeuner excellent. Karten zum Öffnen der Zimmer haben mehr schlecht als recht funktioniert... insgesagt enttäuschend, lag vor allem an der Besenkammer für 160€/Übernachtung

- Aileen (8/5): Rude bar manager. - Lovely hotel, room, setting. Clean and spacious room. Although bad part was booking a table for a meal. After speaking to what looked like the bar manager he says 7pm so we had a drink at the bar to wait. He suggested nibbles which we had and got charged over the top for them 7pm came and went and we enquired if our table was ready at 7.20pm. he shrugged us off and ignored us after this so we ended up leaving at 7.45 to find a restaurant elsewhere. Rude man.

Fortunately this was quickly remedied and we were moved to another room. Also at the welcome reception there was a bit of a language barrier or misunderstanding as the option to not clean the room wasn’t explained correctly…she told us it wouldn’t be cleaned for 1 day which would have been fine, but it wasn’t cleaned for our entire stay. We did ask to have it cleaned, but it never was. Tip: go up to the pool area and get clean towels from there. The shower stall seal was ineffective and flooded the floor. Hotel rents decent bicycles at a much lower price than the bike rental shops in town. Overall, our stay wasn’t “grand”… was expecting a more luxurious experience for that price.

However there was minimal service( we waited at the bar for over 10 min and then left), the toilet didn’t flush well, and there was a hideous black stain on the carpet. What staff were there were nice, and the location, about 2 blocks from the lake, was ideal.
- Amanda (4/5): - I hated this hotel to be honest. Unless you want to spend a lot of time at the casino I see no reason to stay here. First they made us park about a 1/4 mile from the hotel in a gravel lot when there is a ton of parking right in front of the hotel but we were told that was only for casino guests. They have no where to unload your baggage either so you are expected to walk with all your luggage from the P2 lot. Ridiculous. The bed was as hard as any I’ve ever seen, I could barely stand it, I slept horribly, and my back was killing me the next day. The balcony looks over trash and has no view except of cranes doing construction, which was loud and distracting. The breakfast is expensive so we did not go. There is a very large step into the shower, it sits up at least 9-10 inches, which is very unsafe, especially getting out when wet as there is nothing to hold onto. No English channels or access to Netflix or something on tv (except news). I stayed at 5 hotels on my European vacation and this was by far the worst.

Steps away from the pathways along the waterfront. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly. Next time I’m in Bregenz, I’ll book here again!

- Michelle (10/5): - This is a great hotel. The staff are excellent and so attentive. The facilities are amazing and the spa/sauna services are great. Unfortunately we didn't have great weather for our stay so we made full use of the spa facilities and had a very relaxing stay. Rooms are large and well equipped. It would have been good if the Cast functionality had worked on the TV, but that is not vitally important. Location is excellent with only a short walk to restaurants and shopping, plus the promenade next to the lake is beautiful. Parking is very reasonable and easy to navigate. Overall great stay with Grand Hotel. I would definitely recommend.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Neither lakeside nor lake view despite claims on accor - Whenever I book a hotel, I always look at both hotels.com and the hotel's own website, in this case accor.com, in order to get a full picture. Hotels.com correctly makes no mention of "lake view," but accor clearly indicates that even the lowest room category (Classic) offers either lake view or city view. I mistakenly assumed that the hotel's site was more complete and happily booked on hotels.com anticipating a lovely 3 day stay on the beautiful Bodensee. I was thrillled at the prospect of relaxing & gazing at the lovely lake from my room for hours on end. I booked 5 months in advance. Upon arrival, I repeated my request at check-in for a lake view room as indicated in the "special requests" section of my hotels.com reservation. I was advised that no such views existed! After communicating with management, I was advised that the accor website should have stated "lake side," instead of "lake view," but that is also false as there are huge 10 story buildings between the lake and the 3 story hotel. I received merely an apology from the hotel -- no free breakfast, no upgrade, no discount, no voucher for a future visit, nothing. They already had a guarantee of my payment & were apparently not interested in making amends for their false advertising. So, a fail on customer service where they had a chance to attempt to make up for their initial failure. I will definitely return to Bregenz but never to the Mgallery. FYI, this Mgallery was formerly branded a Mercure.
- Tim (6/5): Bregenz festival staying at The Grande - Miss understanding at check in as the receptionist didn’t catch my name. If he had taken the passport it would have been much simpler and not stressful. The air conditioning was not good and the nights were very uncomfortable. There were no draws for underwear or t.shirts! Considering we used our bonus nights for this Hotel we were very disappointed with the room. We were above the car park entrance where cars were cleaned each morning so to compensate for the poor air conditioning we were unable to open the window. The room was very clean. However to have used our bonus nights for this accommodation we are very disappointed and disillusioned with Hotels.com. We didn’t receive any other bonuses and we are considering whether we should continue to use Hotels.com if this is the quality of accommodation that is given by the Hotel. We had one drink and didn’t use any of the facilities in the Hotel. Overall very disappointing.
- John (10/5): - This was a great hotel! Excellent location, rooms were very large, super clean, nice shower with great amenities. The bar happy hour was a nice touch as well! I’d like to specifically state how great and accommodating the staff was. They went out of their way to assist us with finding a Covid test for our trip home. This included detailed directions to the test site, assisting with translation and printing the necessary forms. We hope to return soon and bring back some our friends!

Great front desk Service in English and German. 5 minute walk to the Bregenz train station with daily trains to Switzerland and Germany. By the lakeside promenade with easy access to biking.
- G (10/5): Super find-city and hotel! - Very nice hotel! Friendly staff that we met,like Daisy! Great bed, great location, quiet, windows open fully, Prosecco upon arrival! Ate around the corner, dinner was great, the breakfast they offered wasn't, at 10am. Definitely we will be back! Going to check out the casino. Looking for another good rate. Beautiful city and park on site!

- Verified traveler (10/5): Really great place to stay near the lake - Really beautiful hotel. The staff were very nice and our stay was comfortable. The location is next to the lake which makes it convenient and the opera theatre which is in the lake is 2 mins away by walking.
