- RP189 (8/5): Great hotel, great location - A very comfortable hotel in close proximity to Shinjuku station and all local activities. We selected a corner room with near-panoramic views over the city and it was the perfect base to explore the city. The room was sizeable, comfortable and offers amenities, housekeeping was daily and the service was to a high standard. Considering the dining options in and around the hotel, we opted not to include breakfast, although judging by the queues, it was obviously a success story. Highly recommend this hotel if you are intent on discovering Shinjuku and beyond.
- joshi_aniket (10/5): Look no further!! - This is a great place to stay in Tokyo Shinjuku.. hardly 300 m away from the Busta Shinjuku and the train station.. very lovely and friendly staff.. you can pretty much travel anywhere from this hotel Mount Fuji viewing is also possible on a clear day from room 3570 .. rooms are very quiet and clean.. if I am coming back to Tokyo I would be very happy to stay here again..
- Z704OXpetero (10/5): Sanctuary in Shinjuku - This hotel is the one in Tokyo that I always keep coming back to. Location is amazing and love the views (the hotel rooms are from the 22nd floor and up). Breakfast is to die for and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
- 983irinak (10/5): Good combination of value, comfort and location - This hotel is a great choice in the heart of Tokyo. There is easy access to public transportation since the vast Shinjuku station is across the street. Be prepared that the hotel rooms in Tokyo are tiny. We had a double room with the bed pushed against a wall. It wasn't a problem but don't expect a lot of room to open your luggage. Since the hotel is between the 20th and 35th floor of the building the views from the room are spectacular! The room was very clean and the bathroom was well equipped with a very good shower. Breakfast was very generous with plenty of choices for every taste.
- machinmad (8/5): Great central location ... - A split level hotel, reception was crazy busy when we arrived. The receptionist kept her cool, was efficient and polite. The door number directions were not accurate when we exited the lift so it took a while to find our room on the 28th floor. We had a birds-eye view of the city, which stretches to the horizon, which was especially delightful at night. More-so because the construction work next door was quiet then. Our room was comfortable, with soft towels and loo paper. But no shower, just a hose above the bath. This hotel welcomes lots of Americans/Europeans … it’s not a luxurious or memorable, but it is located centrally, right where the action is. That makes it ideal for a few nights stay.

- Jonesy1974 (8/5): Good hotel. - Just stayed for 5 nights in this hotel. We asked for a high floor room and we were placed in room 3371 facing west and of course that means facing Mount Fuji. Incredible view, you need to be high up to see it as there are buildings in the way otherwise. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Shower over bath but it was quite powerful. Got tea and coffee every day and you had to get the water from the machine by the elevators. We didn’t eat in the hotel. My only gripe is the lack of coin laundry which so many people have mentioned. I desperately needed two pairs of trousers washed so did their laundry service, at a cost of 1100 yen each. It states on the form it will come back to the room after 6.30pm but it did not arrive so I went to reception. They said they would call the laundry and to return to my room of which I did. Half hour later, still no laundry returned so I went back to reception and it was there to collect. It needs to be much clearer about this system and they need to decide if they return it to the room at a certain time or whether customers need to collect it. Putting a coin laundry in like most Japanese hotels would solve the confusion !! But apart from that, the hotel is a good hotel in an excellent location, slightly away from the chaos of Shinjuku but also 5 minutes walk toYoyogi station to go on the loop line.
- Woodpecker-47 (10/5): Great Stay! - Had a lovely 3 night stay in a Panoramic King room on a higher level floor. Location as others have said is excellent, a few minutes walk along the pedestrian walkway (where there are lots of places to eat if you don't want to walk very far) to Shinjuku station or the other way to Yoyogi station to get around . Once inside the room we barely heard any outside noise and the views were incredible over Tokyo any time of the day or night! There's a 7-11 on the ground floor before the hotel entrance so you can get snacks/sandwiches/drinks and though the hotel advertises a lounge/bar area we never saw it open in the evenings. The room was much more spacious than I thought it would be, bed was a little on the hard side for me and the heating/cooling worked effectively. Room and hotel was spotlessly clean but the bathrooms, although having everything we needed, looked rather dated. Lots of toiletries supplied and replaced daily but the hairdryer was poor, not very powerful at all and due to low voltage If coming from UK note most travel hairdryers won't operate effectively below 110/120v and Japan operates at 100v! We had breakfast included with our room rate and was quite decent; good selection of hot and cold European and Asian dishes to please everyone. Sometimes we saw a few guests queueing & waiting to be seated as we left breakfast (around 9am) but staff worked quickly at clearing tables so you weren't waiting long. We arrived at around noon from our international flight from the UK and too early to check in (2pm) but staff stored our luggage securely until we could. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English, calling taxis for us and advising how best to reach places. On our last day they arranged luggage forwarding to Kyoto for us, filling in all the forms and measuring/weighing faster than I could show them the address they were going to! We returned to Tokyo for the last night of our tour of Japan and stayed at a different (and more expensive) hotel in Shinjuku but wished we'd returned here instead as it ticked all the boxes for us!
- Travelling_Axe (10/5): Tops for location, view, room size and convenience - This is my go-to hotel in Tokyo. It has it all - convenience, room size, comfort, view, service, you name it! The hotel is located at the south end of Shinjuku station, easily accessible along the terrace extending from the new south exit (second floor). There is no need to go out onto the street to get to the hotel. The second floor entrance of the hotel building will allow you access the elevators to take you to hotel reception on the 20th floor. The hotel rooms are located on the floors above this, resulting in every room having a great view over Tokyo. We paid a little more for an even higher floor (36th) and facing East for a view above the station and over the large Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and extending to the Tokyo Skytree in the distance. The location of the hotel is ideal for access by subway or train to anywhere in Tokyo or even further away, as Shinjuku station is a major hub. Across the station from the hotel, easily accessible by walkways on the south terrace is the Takashimaya department store, home to an extensive food court in the basement as well as several floors of restaurants on the top. In addition there are the cafes in the train station or scattered at the base of the hotel on the south terrace. The hotel is also walking distance from several attractions in the vicinity, including Omoide Yokocho (Yakitori Alley), Golden Gai (micro bars), Kabukicho district (shopping and restaurants), Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (Observation deck and light show), Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and many more smaller attractions. The rooms are very comfortable and very large for Tokyo standards. This is perfect for an extended stay. We've stayed in cheaper places in Tokyo, with no views and less comfortable tiny rooms, which are fine for a night or two, but we really prefer staying here for anything longer than 2 nights. While not cheap, the difference in price for what you get is absolutely worth it! Service and amenities are top-notch, as you would expect throughout Japan. There is a bar and restaurant on-site, but we did not make use of these due to the plethora of other options nearby. Even though the train station is immediately adjacent to the hotel, rooms facing the station did not suffer from train noise. Sound insulation is good as we rarely heard anything from outside of the suite. Wifi worked very well, but did make you log in daily to keep access. The shower worked well with lots of hot water and good pressure. There was a tub as well. There was a large safe in the room, a refrigerator and kettle. Tea and coffee was provided and replenished daily. The bed was comfortable, had outlets next to each head, and had plenty of room to access from both sides (not up against a wall like we commonly see in smaller rooms). There was additional seating and a table, along with a desk and chair. I will always come back here when in Tokyo, however I do note they will be closing for a major renovation later this year (October I believe) and I'm not sure when they will reopen.
- toon88 (8/5): Superb Location in the Heart of Shinjuku with Spacious Rooms - We stayed here for two nights and the location was truly outstanding. The hotel connects directly to the elevated pedestrian walkway, making it easy to access Takashimaya and others shopping mall. Shinjuku Station is just a five-minute walk away, which makes getting around Tokyo extremely convenient. The room was considered large compared to typical Japanese city hotel standards, which we really appreciated. However, it was surprising that there was no humidifier provided in the room, as this is almost standard in most three-star (and above) hotels in Japan. The breakfast restaurant looked modern and well-designed, but the variety of food options was somewhat limited. The hotel shares the building with office spaces, but entrances and elevators are clearly separated, so it does not affect privacy or convenience. There is also a 7-Eleven located downstairs, which is very convenient for quick snacks or late-night essentials. Overall, a great choice for travelers who prioritize location and room size while staying in Shinjuku.

- dsdn0820 (8/5): the best hotel view I've seen - the view from our room was incredible we got a view of fuji one morning coulsnt fault the view at all. the rooms were clean and simplistic large space plenty of room to move around. not much choice in terms of food there was a cafe and I believe 1 restaurant although I may be wrong on this. the location was brilliant right near the station, plenty of food choices close by. the bar strangley never seemed to be open im not sure what the opening times were but one night we tried to go in at 8pm and was told it was closed the other night it was just before 8 and was told it was closed however there was 2 people sat at a table in there so dont know if they had just closed of a private meeting was on. the hotel facilities were minimal in my opinion however the view and quality of the room itself would still encourage me to come again

- 720raquely (8/5): Great Views and Easy access to Transportation - There are two things that really stand out about this hotel: the location, and the views. Access to trains and buses at this hotel is excellent as it is attached to an elevated promenade, meaning you have an easy walk to Shinjuku Station, or Yoyogi Station. There are also lots of stores and restaurants in the area, which was nice as we could wind down our days with some shopping and dining near the hotel. The hotel itself seems more business focused. It's not the kind of hotel where you'll spend the evening in the lobby, and there isn't a pool or spa. We liked that as it meant our evenings were nice and quiet, even being right by the train station and Shinjuku. The panoramic rooms are huge with amazing views of the city. On one of our more restful days, we spent a big portion of our evening watching the nighttime city views. It’s stunning. One downside with the panoramic views - it can get very warm and sunny during the day with the blinds open, so you may end up closing the blinds and then you don’t get the great view. It wasn’t a huge problem as we were there when the days were shorter, and often out of the hotel during the day. Everything else about the room was fine. It seems like it hasn’t been updated in a while, but it was clean and comfortable. The mattress was on the firmer side and comfortable. The bathroom and closet, however, were both quite small, which was surprising when the rest of the room had so much space. The toilet and shower are both in the same room, which isn’t a dealbreaker but stood out compared to other hotels we stayed at during our trip. Tall folks might have a bit of trouble in these showers too. Hotel staff were friendly, but we only interacted at check-in and checkout, and at the restaurant. Everyone we spoke to seemed to be proficient in English, which was helpful. Breakfast was also good, though a bit expensive. I did appreciate the various vegan and vegetarian options, and clear labeling on foods. If you want a practical hotel with incredible views, a great location, and very large rooms (if you book a panoramic view room) it’s a solid spot.

- WongManKong (6/5): Not too bad but plenty of rooms for improvement - Checked in on 01Dec25 with my wife and this is the first time we stay with this hotel. Other than the convenience of airport limousine stopping at its doorstep, the location is also right in the heart of Shinjuku where you can get everything only steps away. The interior of the hotel is modernly decorated and giving you a comfortable but not cautious feeling. The check-in lobby is located in the 20th floor of the building where it is spacious and with plenty of privacy as only hotel guests are there to rest before or after checking in. The South Court lounge at the lobby overlooking the night view of Shinjuku through the large glass window, a nice place for a drink and chatting. The lady who checked us in was so helpful and every question we asked were answered with alternatives. The twin room we have, 2375, is in reasonable size, clean and tidy. However, USB plugs for charging is not available inside the room. Not many choices for TV channels. No HBO or other movie channels, no sports channels. For foreigners you might have to repeatedly watching news the whole night. The bathtub is a bit slippery for taking shower as the slip-resistant on the surface of the bathtub is not strong enough to hold when you move around with shower gel on your body. The position of the metal handle on the wall is too low to catch when you slipped, especially for elderly people. Noises from upper floor were heard from time to time especially in the evening. It sounds very much like flushing toilet. The restaurant at the lobby provides quite a tasty breakfast buffet but the variety of foods are quite limited. Charging JPY3800 per person is a bit too expensive. Throughout our stay, the housekeeping has been doing a good job to keep the room clean and tidy. Change of towels and slippers were carried out properly every day.
- ChinaCatEyes (8/5): Convenient and Solid Option in Shinjuku - On the quiet side of Shinjuku Station. Easy to find once you're oriented to the area. Very convenient. Has airport Limo bus pick-up on location (ground floor). The standard king room was a good size, large enough to spread out two people's luggage plus a king bed, though the bed wasn't very comfortable. Room amenities were pretty basic. No minibar, but there is a small mini-fridge. We would definitely consider staying here again if in Shinjuku, but would also consider other options due to the uncomfortable bed.
- SiriuslyOz (4/5): A very mixed review. - We stayed here for three nights on our way from London to Sydney and we had a great room. It's not cheap but reasonable value considering the size of our room, the tremendous view and the central Shinjuku location. However, we also stayed for one night on our way back to London and the room we were given was very small and very uncomfortable for essentially the same price as the earlier stay. I normally would have complained on the spot but we were very squeezed for time.

- 649JohnR649 (10/5): Good Hotel in a Great Location - My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Century Southern Tower with another couple for a two night post-cruise stay in September 2025. We found the hotel to be in an ideal location for sightseeing around Tokyo. The metro is walkable within minutes from the hotel and for more local journey’s we used the local taxi’s which were frequent and relatively cost effective. We arrived early morning, having exited the cruise ship first thing. Despite a polite request we were not able to check in to our rooms until the stated 3pm, which we understand but was a little disappointing. With the hotel being situated in a high tower all the rooms have a great view of Tokyo. The rooms were functional clean and tidy and a reasonable size for a city hotel. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful and all staff were polite and helpful. All in all we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is in a great location and is good quality, clean and the staff efficient.

- luvholiday9 (8/5): business hotel with good location - Stayed for 4d3n in southern tower king room. It is just a normal business hotel. I feel we are only paying for size and location. It is bigger than the average Japanese hotel but smaller in reality than photos. Located just right outside New south exit of shinjuku station, easy access to the malls. Room smelled musty when we entered especially the bathroom. Nice view from our room on the 30th floor. I am happy they are able to meet my request of iron and body scale. Wished the room was brighter and modern though. It is quite dated. They are going eco so no bottled water in the room, have to get from dispenser machine outside lift lobby. Not an issue. 7-11 on the first floor. Pillows were way too soft and flat, not the most comfortable. Easy to arrange luggage delivery to our next hotel in Kyoto. Overall we like the location but the quality of the room does not justify for the price paid per night. Will I stay again? Probably yes, for the location and room size, but only if the price is right.

- lilacfields (4/5): Totally Disappointing! - We have been returning to Century Southern a few times but this time around the experience was particularly disappointing because it was obvious standards had gone down. It was particularly apparent with the breakfast spread which has become downsized post covid. Selection was limited for a luxury hotel this size, with the Japanese section tucked into an obscure corner, and the spread was boringly the same for the 4 days we were there, with absolutely no variations. We would have been better off not paying for hotel breakfast to eat in any of the eating places nearby. Inflexibility was another negative. We dined in their main restaurant after checking in the night we returned from Kamikochi, and were surprised that we could not charge the bill to our room. Laundry service was another near mishap. I had sent an item for washing before 1000, expecting it to be returned to the room before 1830 pm the same day, as stated in the order form. Thankfully I remembered to check whilst packing for departure the next day. Was told that I had to go down to the reception to collect and pay for it. This is the height of inconvenience for guests. What grated most was the misleading representation of room type on their agent-appointed website. We booked a scenic king room which featured a panoramic corner view of the city, but was assigned a regular room, albeit with a view. When queried, the front desk assigned blame on their agent, saying they had raised this matter with them before. This is totally unacceptable as it is tantamount to misrepresentation. Matter was compounded because the staff at the reception are not too conversant in English, making it difficult to get the point across. Unless we need to be within easy walking distance of the Shinjuku Highway Bus Terminal, we would not contemplate booking into Century Southern again, which is not cheap by any standard as well.

The reception staff were very welcoming and were always happy and so polite to help with whatever I needed. My room was spacious immaculately clean, bathroom and accessories always refilled daily. The buffet breakfast option had plenty of choices. Location location location - 5 minute walk to Shinjuku major station, 15 minute walk to Shinjuku gardens to avoid the busyness of Tokyo. 711 Starbucks bakeries and variety of shops all 5 minute walk or less.Dinner dining at the hotel is a very special experience impeccable service. Highly recommend Hotel Century Southern Tower

Room was clean and there was cleaning every day with an abundance of towels, night gown, slippers. There was a water machine on the floor which was great. The hotel is very close to two major train stations (Shinjuku and Yoyogi Station). There is a 7-eleven in the lobby and a family mart and Lawson very close which came in handy for quick breakfast and late night snack. Plenty of food around and shoppes. We asked for Ramen recommendation and it was a great choice. The room temp you can control which is nice once you figure it out. The room doesn’t come with steamer or iron, but they brought it quickly which was good. Took the Narita express to Shinjuku and used the Koshu Kaido exit be walked about 7 minutes. Took the Odakyu romance car line to Hakone from Shinjuku station. No special touches or frills to the hotel, however, it served its purpose and was just what we needed as we were out most of the time.

The reason I picked this hotel is because the airport limousine bus stopped here. I was very pleased with the excellent location which provides access to so many train stations and lots of shopping and restaurants. I appreciated the warm welcome of the staff at reception and the dining restaurant. The wi-fi is strong which is helpful to book tours and do research on where to go. The breakfast was so good with so many options from roast pork to flavourful soup and yogurt. My favorite is the banana juice. The room is nice and clean. I got a single room which is more spacious than the one I got at another hotel in Shinjuku last time and on my last trip to Paris. The bathroom is of a decent size and got good shower pressure with warm water. The air conditioning worked well which is greatly appreciated as it was so hot in Tokyo in the beginning of September. What a lovely hotel. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and cannot wait to return to Tokyo to stay here.

This hotels location has made our trip that much more enjoyable and we will be staying at this hotel in our next visit to Japan. The hotel room is very clean, our double room was big enough to store all our luggage. Honestly there is not much to fault.
- B1373IManneb (10/5): Brilliant location for tourists. - Absolutely brilliant location, being sited overlooking the Shinjuku Railway Station, and surrounded by shopping malls, with numerous restaurants/cafes offering every possible food choice at varying prices plus food courts. A very convenient 7-11 store located on the ground floor/entrance way area. Our room was spacious with wonderful views across the surrounding area to the Jingu Gardens. Our booking included buffet styled breakfasts, offering a huge range of Asian, Western, Continental options - plus very attentive and courteous staff. The reception staff were always polite and more than ready to assist us with our questions, directions etc. Would happily return to stay in this area of Tokyo...so easy to access anywhere in this massive city by metro rail at your doorstep.

When you enter the building, which is well-marked (no need to take the stairs if you’re arriving from Yoyogi station, you can go around the corner), just take the elevator to the lobby on the 20th floor. Would definitely recommend to travelers of all types!

We took a taxi from Haneda Airport to the hotel for AU$106.00, which we thought was great value. It was also easy to reach key tourist attractions from this hotel.

The location is great, easy walking distance to Takashimaya Department Store where you have a great food hall and supermarket in the basement and a “Restaurant Park” on floors 13 and 14. These restaurants are a cut above to the places on the street. There is a pedestrian street accessible from the second floor which provide easy access to Takashimaya, to Shinjuku Station and to the busy streets just North of the station where there are hundreds of restaurants and great shopping. The hotel is at the Southern end of Shinjuku, which puts it in a quieter place and yet still within walking distance to all the wild and crazy stuff Shinjuku and Kabukicho have to offer. The hotel is also within a short distance of Yoyogi Station (located South of the hotel). This is a small station that provides connections to everywhere you want to go without the crazy immensity of the Shinjuku Station. The hotel building has restaurants on the low floors, offices above, the lobby on the 20th floor and hotel rooms above the lobby to the top which is the 37th floor. The lobby is large, the staff is super friendly and helpful. The chairs in the lobby are a bit tattered and uncomfortable, but that is the only negative I can say about the hotel. The rooms are large, the bed is great with very comfortable linens, a table, a desk, a chair and a small sofa. There is a small refrigerator, a safe, coffee/tea kettle and the bathroom is large and comfortable. The room views are great. If I ever make it back to Tokyo, I would want the be in this location and in this hotel again.

The upside of this hotel was the expansive views over Tokyo - and close proximity to Shinjuku Station and good restaurants. The negatives with this hotel were a small and sparsely furnished bedroom; accessed via very dark (poorly lit) corridors. The included breakfast was adequate but had the ambience of a canteen. It was good value but I wouldn’t return.

- Katherine Shu Ting (10/5): - The hotel is very close to South exit of Shinjuku station and so it is in close proximity to a number of shops, attractions, restaurants and major transit hub. The view from the room is awesome looking over quite a number of Tokyo sites/buildings. We enjoyed our stay very much.
- 682zenz (10/5): Excellent location, clean, nice room - Our first hotel stay on our first trip to Tokyo & we could not have picked a better location! Loved this hotel for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and location. Right across from a lot of shopping & the train station. We discovered a whole other world in the train station! Loved the area around the hotel for walking. Tons of shops & restaurants around. There is a ShakeShack and Starbucks right next to hotel for those interested. There is so much to see and do around this hotel.
- Katherine Shu Ting (10/5): - Wonderful hotel that is spacious, close to Shinjuku station and walkable to all the sites and places. The view is also great looking out to the city. We enjoyed the stay very much.

- santpedor (8/5): A satisfactory experience - A very comfortable and well situated hotel. Our room was rather small but otherwise it was very clean and well furnished with a mini bar and kettle which was convenient as breakfast was not included in our room rate. The reception staff were kind and helpful so our stay was enjoyable .
- Abundantsteph01 (10/5): Centralized location - Great clean hotel. Room was big enough for two luggages. You have to take two elevators to get to your room one to lobby the other to your room. The restaurant had good breakfast each day that was about $20 something per person. There’s a 7/ eleven downstairs and shake shack and other restaurants within the building. About five minutes to shinjuku station and walking distance to a lot of food places and a mall
