Guest Reviews
- Selim (10/5): Since I actually came to see my daughter rather than for a holiday, the trip was nice, but it was a tiring kind of nice. - Its central location, easy access to everywhere, and the friendly attitude of the staff were all very good. I liked it. Since the property met my expectations, I cannot currently make any specific comment about what I did not like. Having my expectations met was sufficient for me.
- Shilton (6/5): - The staff was nice. The carpet was gross. It really needs to be cleaned.
- ThomasLucM (8/5): - l'emplacement est parfait
- Guadalupe (10/5): - The stay, all the staff, and location were Outstanding! I highly recommend this Hotel!
- noel (6/5): - Location The bed and restaurant deluxe room expected more but apparently deluxe is their standard room

- John (8/5): Good stay - clean rooms and good location - Location “Queen” beds were smaller that expected. Didn’t seem as “Queen”. Rooms with windows mostly didn’t see street or outside environment, just a wall of another building
- Odee (7/5): Its okay for a short stay - It's location is central to many places. The room is a good size compared to most rooms in NY. The room had a smell and the AC made noise.

- Elaine (9/5): Wonderful Hotel with brilliant team & would definitely stay there again. - Very friendly & kind welcoming staff.
Hotel was very central & great facilities - comfortable room & very clean. Air conditioning unit was loud in the room.
- John (9/5): Very enjoyable - Location and bar Slow elevator

- bwgorham (9/5): Great hotel in a great location. - Great find in the city. We were in town for a show and to check out museums, and the location - half a block from Grand Central - is perfect for getting around on the subway and getting to the sites of midtown Manhattan, and especially convenient if you are coming in by train to Grand Central. The room was clean, comfortable, and a good size, with a nice bathroom (and tub), and the area was also fairly quiet despite being close to Grand Central. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Lots of restaurants nearby, and an Irish pub is connected to the hotel. Easy 15-minute walk to the theatre district. We liked it a lot and will stay here again in the future! The only complaint we had was that the food service at the Irish pub connected to the hotel was very slow and inattentive. The food was good, but I don't know that I'd go there for breakfast if you have things you want to do in a reasonable time frame.
- Deborah (1/5): Skip this place - Location is great Dirty room
No towels
Horrible mattress - sunk in the middle
Tub didn’t drain
Overcharged for parking $82 vs $ 55 vs just going to that same exact parking garage without the hotel affiliation

- 566paddyw (10/5): A wonderful hotel. - We stayed in Fitzpatricks in March 26. A very nice and clean hotel.Beds were so comfy and very clean. The staff couldn’t do enough for us like directions etc.Felt so homely. Thank you. We had a fabulous time and can’t wait to get back.
Paddy and Robyn.
- John (9/5): Over all the Fitzpatrick Grand Central was a great stay! - The hotel is very charming and full of character. The pub which is attached had good food and Irish Music on the Saturday night we arrived. The rug in our room had seen better days and the temperature of the room wasn’t easy to control. It stayed warm even though we turned the temp down.
- Alexis (10/5): I would stay again for a short trip. - The staff was amazing, hotel was clean, great location. Everything was good.
- Silvia (9/5): - Ubicación perfecta y cerca del metro. Camas comoísimas y todo muy limpio. La chica de recepción muy amable. Totalmente recomendable. Nada
- Michael (4/5): - I’m afraid the bed was terribly uncomfortable and the hot water was intermittent.
- 239annemarieb (10/5): Lovely stay - I like this hotel. I wasn’t sure what to expect having never stayed here before. The location is perfect. So close to Grand Central. The staff is lovely, attentive and happy to accommodate special requests such as a tea kettle. The lobby is very nice and adjacent Wheeltapper Pub is great. Had an excellent chicken pot pie for dinner one night. Really enjoyable pub. My room was small, no view but immaculately clean and very quiet. I slept like a rock in the comfortable bed and the shower was good too. This is not a “modern” type of hotel. The building is old and the furnishings are colonial type. I will stay here again because all of the pluses outweigh any negatives for me.
I felt welcome and comfortable and very safe. It was lovely.
- ozpix (8/5): Great location - Spent a few nights here. Loved the location of this hotel just about across the road from Grand Central Station. Lots to see and do nearby and only a 10 min walk to Time Square. Staff friendly, rook was comfy and renovated bathroom. The weather was freezing when we were in NY and disappointing that there was no way of us controlling the temp in our room to make it a little warmer.
- Suzanne (9/5): We had a super time and we will definitely go back - Staff so friendly helpful and professional great happy atmosphere in the hotel and bar Maybe the bar could get an upgrade tables and chairs in the restaurant very old
- Jean (10/5): Irish gem in NYC - Everything, every team member I met was hopeful, friendly and welcoming I had to leave and come home
- Rehagen (8/5): I would absolutely stay here again. - The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The carpeting was a bit worn, but the room was clean. The bathroom was very clean. The bath/shower did not drain properly at first but the hotel fixed it during my stay.
- Tanya (3/5): Very disappointing stay - I love how close it is to Grand Central Station My rug was wet, the thermostat was not working, so the room was cold, and the front desk staff was rude. The front desk said they would send housekeeping up and no one ever came. I saw housekeeping sitting in the store room on the floor playing games on her phone. I have stayed here several times in the past and have never encountered such a bad stay. I will not be back.
- Eileen (10/5): Have stayed several times before and it never disappoints. Location is great and staff are very helpful - Central location Nothing
- Diana (8/5): Perfect location for work! - Location is outstanding The rooms need updating
- amanym2019 (10/5): Great location and wonderful Staff - Great place! Staff is very pleasant and professional. Brendan was very welcoming when we checked in. Room was spotless. Great location. Overall wonderful experience!
- gili (10/5): - מלון מעולה צוות מעולה. מוצלח מאוד
- MIZUKI (7/5): - I left some small items out, and they were stolen during cleaning.
They never came back before I checked out.
- John (10/5): Comfortable - Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
- James (3/5): Awful. - The heat did not work. Changed rooms in the middle of the night and heat did not work there either.
- Mark (8/5): -
- vanessa (10/5): Súper ubicado , personal atento - Atención de recepción y conserje excelente , siempre atentos a ayudar .
La ubicación es de lo mejor , cerca de todo y sin la bulla y movimiento de otras zonas .
- pacha835 (10/5): An Irish Welcome in NYC - We had the great pleasure of staying at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central before Christmas 2025 and it was a really great and positive experience. The Hotel is in a great location and the rooms while faded still have real old world charm. The rooms are not huge but the location more than makes up for the lack of space. We had booked the Deluxe Double Double for our stay for a party of three. The staff at Reception were very welcoming and attentive. A particular mention to Brendan Foley, Director of the Front Office, who exudes hospitality and a real Irish Welcome in the heart of NYC. We experienced a problem on our first night as the heating was not working in our room and as soon as we contacted Reception an Engineer arrived but could not fix the heater that evening. We were moved the following morning and the rest of our stay was truly memorable.
- H3105JBianf (10/5): Friendly, hotel with spacious rooms in the heart of Manhattan. - Welcomed by very friendly front desk (Sophie) , who helped us navigate our itinerary. Good sized rooms in great location-. We enjoyed the Irish breakfast . Great place to stay in the heart of Manhattan. Will definitely stay again.
- H1656KVgarym (10/5): Fitzpatrick Grand Central - Top notch!! - We stayed at Fitzpatrick Grand Central on last night of our NYC 5 day trip and it did not disappoint. Our only regret is that we were not here for the 5 days!! The staff were friendly and could not do enough esp. Brendan and Natasha. I cannot recommend strongly enough. Great hotel, great location. We will be back and stay longer next time.
Thank you.

- Oli (9/5): Great atmosphere, tastey breakfast, central location and buzzing bar in the evening! - Clean, warm and friendly!
- Kaitlyn (8/5): - The bed was very comfy and the staff at reception were lovely The only thing we would have changed is the noise of the radiator in the room. It was very loud. There was also construction going on outside our room which was very noisy throughout the night however we understand that the hotel can not control this
- Alan (10/5): We love the Fitzpatrick. We will stay here again when we come t o NY. -
- Rachel (8/5): -
- Byrne (4/5): hhhhhhhh - didn't stay never received confirmation of booking and booked another hotel nothing
- niall (3/5): Extremely disappointed - The staff were friendly & helpful…. The location is great….. I paid over $700 for a tiny poor room 318. The wall paper is falling off wall, the bed was not comfortable, no water in room, bathroom wasn’t clean, carpet wasn’t clean….
- Fernando Cesar (8/5): - Staff muito atencioso, tive problemas com booking e eles resolveram super rápido
- F7569USjohnr (10/5): Another great escape! - Once again we chose to return to our Fitzpatrick Grand Central. Our home away from home in Manhattan. We enjoyed four great nights, made possible by the special rates for the booking.
Check this one out on the website!
In every way our accommodations were simply perfect for us..
We appreciate the extremely quiet room and the spacious bedroom & bath. Cleanliness is always of the highest standard. Must also mention the extremely comfortable bed.
Arriving through Grand Central Station we discovered the great food at Tartinery. My wife loved the avocado toast and I thoroughly enjoyed the lentil soup. Healthy choices for us. On the way out of the station we visited the shop with the
Pop-up cards and found the perfect sushi pop-up for our grandaughter.
A side trip for dinner at Avra on 48th street provided a wonderful seafood dinner.
Our morning visit to Zucker's Bagels on Lexington
was the beginning of a great day.
The staff at the front desk is simply amazing. They are welcoming, cheerful and exceptionally helpful.
This hotel is extremely well located for us as we arrive on the Long Island Railroad avoiding the issues around driving and parking in Manhattan.
There you have it ....great accommodations.....great accessibility ....great pricing .....great people....
I cannot ask for more.....

- rrek (10/5): Best Christmas at Fitzpatrick’s - From the moment I rang to enquire about staying for 4 nights over Christmas, Brendan made this trip to Fitzpatrick’s Grand Central so pleasurable for me. Not an easy feat when organising accommodation for 11 family members for Christmas! No matter how many times I had to change arrangements, Brendan assured me it was no problem and sorted things for me. He really was the nicest and most professional person I have dealt with in hospitality.
As part of our four night stay we wanted to have Christmas dinner at the hotel. Brendan passed me to Petra to organise this. What a fabulous festive meal we were served! Delicious turkey with all the trimmings for most of us and even Christmas crackers with the necessary corny jokes. Special mention also for the chowder soup which was declared ‘the best ever’. As well as the lovely Sybil, I wish I remembered everyone’s name who looked after us in both the bar and restaurant - because they were amazing! On what was Christmas Day for them, they worked so hard to look after our party which had expanded to 15. Thank you too for facilitating the area for our Christmas games and quiz for the evening.
The hotel itself is so cosy and comfortable. If your preference is for hard lines and minimalist glossy chic, - look elsewhere. This is a hotel that hugs you! Five stars from me for the pillow top mattress too.
This was a second stay at Fitzpatrick’s GC so we knew what a great location it is. Walking to most of the NYC sights is easy. There are also some great cafes and restaurants nearby. Recommend John’s Diner for brunch, and if you like Italian. Osteria Laguna is superb.
Once again, a huge thank you to every single staff member we met over the holidays. And with regard to Brendan and all the hotel staff - if the Grinch is known for stealing Christmas , then Fitzpatrick’s Grand Central should be known for giving it back!

- serenaibz (8/5): Great location! - 10/10 location - absolutely ideal for shopping and Grand Central, Broadway plus other iconic landmarks. Almost everything was in walking distance including Bryant Park which was great. The room was a little dated and there were imperfections, e.g. some marks on the towels, the door would shake a little as people walked down the corridor, but on the whole it was quiet and felt safe. Definitely good value for money considering competitors nearby.
- Deborah (10/5): Our stay was absolutely perfect. - Absolutely lovely hotel would highly recommend to anyone. Rooms are lovely and comfortable, staff are so friendly and helpful literally can’t fault a single thing. Location is absolutely perfect. Just came home yesterday and hotel is so well decorated for Christmas and gives a lovely cosy Christmas feel. Already looking to book again. Nothing loved absolutely everything.
- Mason (9/5): -
- Olivia (10/5): Great Hotel for location and staff! - It’s great location and as a lone female traveler you feel very safe staying at this hotel - the staff are amazing and after staying at a few hotels in NY for work - this is where I feel the safest. There isn’t anything I dislike,
- Patricia (8/5): Great location - The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was very nice, but the heat was not working. An engineer came to look at it and could not get the heat to come up. He brought up a space heater to use for the night.
We had dinner at the pub downstairs. The food and drinks were very good, although the drinks were very expensive.
- rowanNottingham (10/5): A great festive trip - We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and we would never stay anywhere else when in New York.
You can not fault the kindness and the professionalism that all the staff show to you.
It’s in a perfect location for exploring New York, rooms are comfortable and welcoming when you return after a long day exploring.
As always a huge thank you to all staff but especially Andrea, Jeff, Brendon, Garfield, Sybil and Olivia ( you will be missed from the bar)
You are all like family to us xxx
- Kevin (10/5): -
- Irene (10/5): - Friendly ideal breakfast good location Check out time

- magsk1960 (10/5): Superb! - My eighth trip to NYC always staying in a different hotel and location but the Fitzpatrick was by far my favourite!
Great friendly staff a warm welcome into a cosy reception lobby and a general good feel vibe would without doubt highly recommend.
A good size room which was immaculate with lovely toiletries and coffee machine.
Fabulous location and the Wheeltapper bar attached to the hotel was also a busy friendly stop where we had a lovely meal.
- Rachel (10/5): Couldn’t of been in a better place - The location was brilliant so close to Times Square & central station but not 2 close either, bit away from the madness, it was 100/10 on location, beds were so comfortable we came back during the day for naps & slept so well at night. If I’m lucky enough to ever return to NY it’ll be here where I stay. Had breakfast here one morning & it was beautiful. Couldn’t fault it.
- Jeffrey (10/5): -
- Jerry (10/5): Perfection - Classy, Professional, very very clean Great location in the city
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Stefania (8/5): -
- Borenstein (8/5): Fitzgerald Hotel Grand Central - The staff was outstanding always helpful and greeted you by name and with a smile.
We stayed 5 nights and the location close to Grand Central Station was perfect for us. Buses and trains were very close by. There were a lot of places to eat nearby as well.
Its an easy walk to many sites. Like all of NYC,it was overpriced for a hotel that was much in need of updating. The mattress (only a double)even when promptly replaced was well worn and uncomfortable. Wallpaper was peeling and room was dark and not well lit. That said the bathroom was roomy and updated.
- Kathleen (9/5): -
- Amie (10/5): - Very friendly/welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere. Bar & terrace attached to hotel, breakfast was beautiful.
Great location, approx 5 min walk to grand central station. Lovely cafes nearby. Highly recommend, hope to visit again in the future 😀
- David (8/5): It was a great stay for business. - Location to grand central and Penn Station Cleaner, very courteous.
- Marcos (9/5): - Las camas eran cómodos unas
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great location.
- theexplorerDarien (10/5): Loved the showers - This is an older hotel but our room offered a renovated bathroom with one of the world’s greatest showers. It was strong. It was hot. It did the job.
Besides the showers Jeff at the check-in desk is the hardest working man in the hospitality business. Gave us a great restaurant suggestion.
The location near Grand Central Station was awesome. My only suggestion is they need a lot more electrical plugs in the rooms. Otherwise we’re going back in April.
- Abdullah -Simmons (8/5): Excellent location, great customer service! - The staff, the location, restaurant. Rooms are small, but do the job. Small room and had to ask for a refrigerator for the room.
- andreas (8/5): -
- Valenzuela (5/5): I have stayed at this property twice before and had much better experiences. Very disappointed. - Great staff, great location. A/C in the room did not operate efficiently Turned on every 2 minutes and was loud. The room was either too cold or too hot, was never a comfortable temperature. Bathroom faucets and downspouts were loose, poorly maintained. The phone in the room didn't work. I had to go to the lobby to ask for maintenance and order room service (from the 7th floor).
- Anethe (7/5): -
- I3233MAianr (10/5): An absolute gem with incredible customer service - What a hotel. We stayed in this hotel twice before as a couple but this was our first time as a family of four and I can say it’s honestly gotten even better.
From the moment we checked in until the minute we left all of the staff we met were warm, welcoming, attentive and polite to our family. Gave teddy bears to our children, asked about our plans for the day and even made suggestions on where to visit. Everyone from the room cleaners, bar staff and front desk were superb.
The building is old but filled with charm, the lobby is beautiful and while the elevators are a bit old and slow they too are beautifully decorated with marble floors. It feels like a proper old world manhattan hotel.
The rooms were very clean and surprisingly modern for an older building, the bathrooms seem to have been updated recently enough and rooms came with modern steamers for clothes instead of irons. Returning to this hotel after a long day in the city felt comforting. The bar felt like a proper Irish pub and we found ourselves returning to it time and time again.
The absolute highlight however came when we left our child’s favourite toy at the hotel when we were on our way to the airport. The manager arranged a Taxi to pick it up and have it delivered to Newark even including some extra teddy bears and crisps for the kids. He went well beyond what he had too to rectify the situation.
It’s little touches like this that makes the Fitzpatrick our first choice. Honestly the hotel punches well above its weight in terms of price when it comes to service. It’s also in an excellent location to explore the city.
I don’t think we will ever consider staying anywhere else in New York other than the Fitzpatrick. Well managed and well maintained it’s an absolutely little stunning hotel.
- Leonardo (4/5): - So it started with the resort fee being different than what Expedia publishes. No big deal it was just a few dollars more per day but still it would be best if it was accurate.
Then after checking in we went into a room to find a guest in his underwear watching tv. Wrong room? No , they assigned us to an occupied room.
We were then assigned to another room and the ac was inadequate . We flagged it and the staff tried to reset it to see if it improves but we were so tired we will just lived with it for now. After the second night the ac stopped working altogether. They didn’t have an alternate room. And the portable ac they provided did not have an exhaust tube to get hot sit out of the room. So it couldn’t be used.
When we checked out after the third night , we relayed our experience to the staff who, in truth , were always gracious and tried to be helpful but could not really solve the issue . The manager on duty apologized and volunteered to provide a 50% refund off the bill. To date which is two weeks later, we have not seen it.
- Angela (9/5): Excellent location - Very comfortable room. Staff were polite and helpful. Restaurant for breakfast was great. Lifts feel like they could do with an upgrade!
- Lindsy (9/5): -
- Anne (10/5): - Fabulous location very close to Grand Central Station yet quiet inside. A lovely haven.
- caroline (10/5): - Great location and friendly staff
- bakingwiths (10/5): Fitzpatrick grand central nyc - Myself and my daughter Lucy stayed from 29th August to September 2nd. What can I say. From moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated like Royalty. My daughter turned 21 and they left champagne and treats in our room. The location was excellent, 2 mins walk from grand central station. Room was big and bed was very comfy.
The staff were excellent. I have to mention Brendan, Sophie and Franci. They were so friendly and went above and beyond. Brendan, I look forward to returning!!!!!
I would highly recommend this hotel.
- Kevin (8/5): Nice hotel in a perfect spot - This is a lovely old style hotel. The room we had was big, albeit noisy in the evening due to be over the bar at the back of the hotel, but it didn’t last long. The staff were very good and friendly. Location is also perfect to be fair. Nothing
