Y3419HQsandram (4/5): Not enough beds!! - Telephoned before arrival to check if we could have an early check in or if not, could we leave our bags. Was told an early check would cost extra. Upon arrival to drop off our bags, told our room was not ready anyway. Travelled as family of 5, myself, my daughter & 3 grandchildren. Told reception we would be late back as we'd booked Harry Potter studios. Arrived back at hotel approx 10pm to find our room had 2 double beds only. Rang reception & someone came to our room with a travel cot, youngest granddaughter is 7!!. Said this was not acceptable, only to be told there was nothing they could do as housekeeping had gone home. Asked for another room but was told there would be a discounted charge of £100 which was totally unacceptable as we'd booked & paid for 5 people. Best they could eventually do after nearly an hour was to give us a mattress, quilt etc for the floor. My daughter emailed upon our return home to complain, only to get a response from the hotel that it was our own fault that we didn't notify we needed 5 beds. If the booking is made for 5 people, then surely it's a given you need 5 beds! Very poor customer service Corus Hotel. Location of hotel was good, very close to Hyde Park but based on the treatment we received, will not return.
ksbingham (2/5): Noisy. Impossible to get full night’s sleep - I live next door to the Corus Hyde Park and they are the worst neighbours. I frequently get woken up in the middle of the night by delivery vans reversing down the mews to the service area and staff throwing things around or having conversations at the top of their voices in their breaks. Now the hotel is under refurbishment, we have all day noise and this often starts before 07:00 with the delivery of skips. I just got woken at 03:30 by a couple of guys throwing stuff into the back of a van. I imagine it must be really noisy for guests because I have triple glazing and still get woken up, including weekends.
Christopher (6/5): - A decent accommodation for the price although some cleaning, specifically air vent grills, could use some attention. The bathroom is not particularly nice but this seems to be the standard in these older London hotels/ buildings. The TV also was not too great and only played music stations and a few select old shows. Staff was always great and it is located very close to Lancaster Gate and Paddington is not too far so getting around on the tube was easy from here. Hyde park is close by for having a nice walk about with the family. Would stay again since the tested were reasonable.
jamesandmo815 (8/5): Nice hotel opposite Hyde park. - Looking at some of the bad reviews beforehand we were a bit worried,but personally although our room was on the smaller side,it was spotlessly clean,nice bathroom and a comfortable bed.also had tea and coffee in the room.check in was easy with friendly receptionist.definitely would use this hotel again.

I get rooms get bashed about and I believe they are having a refit next month, but thats no excuse for poor housekeeping standards. Our room overlooked a dark courtyard full of bins and rubbish/junk. Could hardly see out the windows (luckily) as they were that dirty. Breakfast was appalling. No plates on our first morning. Bacon like leather, cold tea and coffee , green looking scrambled eggs. Music from what I assume was the pub next door until late at night which we couldn't hear our TV over even with the window closed, and a generator running outside all night. The sides hadnt been cleaned properly so when we put our (expensive) photo down that we had got from one of the attractions, it became stuck and tore when trying to get it off. The twin rooms are only suitable if you know youre travelling companion well as the beds are up against each other. We both got bitten a few times. There was ref stains all over the toilet seat and bath around the bath tap. We purposely spent as much time out as we could and we couldn't wait til leave on checkout.

I called reception late at night, and Stella came up super fast to help. She showed us another room, helped us move, and made sure everything was good. So kind and thoughtful. Really appreciate her warm service. The hotel truly cares about guests’ comfort👍🏻

Sorry it’s a late review I’ve been so busy this month The only problem I had was the situating of the TV. If it was closer to the bed it would be easier to see but failing that a bigger tv would suffice from the same distance.

I1125LYkd (10/5): Stella made our stay better - Stayed with my family. No hot water, bit of a bummer. Met Stella at check out. She was super nice, helped with bags and gave us good vibes. Told us hotel will be renovated and back next year. Location is great. Service was good. We will come back after the Reno. Big thanks to Stella❤️❤️

Julia (8/5): Comfortable room, good night’s sleep. - The twin room was ideal for two friends sharing and the beds were very comfortable. The shower head support was broken making a shower pretty ineffective. However, we were only there for one night and didn’t use the shower until the morning so the hotel did not have the chance to rectify this during our stay.

Carmen (6/5): Buena ubicación, pero hay mejores opciones - La ubicación, amabilidad del personal, variedad en desayuno. Los cristales de las ventanas estaban muy sucios, no hay armario ni estantería donde dejar la ropa ( solamente unas cuantas perchas en una especie de barra improvisada ), la habitación la hacen después de comer…con lo que si llegas a echar una siesta, te lo encuentras todo igual que cuando te marchaste a hacer turismo por la mañana. El último día ( checkout 11h ) no iba el agua caliente. Al preguntar me comentaron que habia un problema desde la noche anterior, y hasta el dia siguiente por la tarde no lo iban a solucionar, es decir, no nos pudimos duchar.

Le rapport qualité prix, on a payé cher la chambre, je demande juste un minimum de confort, les lits sur roulettes 😣, la 🛁 des traces qui ne partent pas, heureusement qu'on partait le matin tôt et on revenait le soir tard. 2 jours avant on m'a demandé de donner un prix pour être surclasser et payer sur place, normalement je n'ai pas à demander, la politique de BOOKING être surclasser gratuitement à un certain niveau.

510wc (10/5): Kind staff, wonderful service that made all the difference - I have anxiety and often feel nervous, but I was really lucky to meet Stella at Corus Hotel. She helped me so much. I had complained : room is small, hairdryer not working. Stella came with me to the room and really helped calm me down. She took care of everything. She organised the plugs on the desk, placed my luggage neatly, made the bed, opened the window, turned on the air con, and even boiled water for me. The room felt so much more spacious and comfortable after that. Thank you, Stella, for your understanding, warmth, and every friendly greeting. You also helped with transport, which really meant a lot. The hotel is in a great location, next to the Hyde Park. The staff are friendly, and I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in London. Highly recommend!

On app says no air conditioning was nice surprise when entered room to find it already on Little unclean at the base of shower. Breakfast staff where not acknowledging on first morning. Cereal bowls and used side plates left onside of table throughout dining for breakfast.
Pontus (8/5): Bra läge och trevlig personal - Läget är perfekt, nära både Hyde park och tunnelbanestationen Lancaster Gate. Bredvid ligger även en trevlig pub som heter The Swan. Området kändes tryggt och det var lätt att ta sig till andra delar av stan. Vi hade fönster mot bakgården och stördes inte av ljud från gatan. Personalen var professionell och trevlig. Vi betalade ca 4000sek för tre nätter vilket vi tyckte var ett bra pris för att vara London. Vi kan absolut tänka oss att komma tillbaka när de gjort sin planerade renovering. Om du är svensk och besöker London för första gången så måste du förstå att ett 4stjärnigt hotell i London inte har samma höga standard som i Sverige. Men trots flera skavanker så känns detta hotellet ändå bättre än andra hotell i samma prisklass som finns i stan. Lobbyn känns fräsch, men det fanns en viss lukt i korridorer och på rummet. (Gissningsvis gammal röklukt som sitter kvar i heltäckningsmattorna.) Sedan var det lite strul med vattentemperaturen i dusch och handfat. Precis som tidigare gäster skrivit så upplevs rummet ganska slitet. Men personalen sa att de skulle göra en stor renovering i höst, vilket är välbehövligt. Så om detta är klart innan vårt nästa besök så kommer vi gärna tillbaka.

Guest (7/5): Für Londoner Verhältnisse ok. - Sehr freundliches, aufmerksames Personal. Gepäckaufbewahrung nach dem Check Out war für uns sehr hilfreich. Zentrale Lage, nahe der Tube ist super. Frühstück war eher durchschnittlich. Teppich im Zimmer und die Fenster veraltet (ist aber generell ein englisches "Problem")

Sara (6/5): Not the best but not the worst - The staff were polite, cleaners were lovely, always clean the room and replenished any linen and toiletries when required. Always came home in the afternoons to a freshly cleaned room with the bed made and the bathroom cleaned. Close walk to Lancaster Gate Underground Station and bus stops. Hyde Park was just across the road from the Hotel which was nice The bed was uncomfortable. Just felt like they placed a pillow topper on the bed to make it more comfy, but there was a bow in the middle so my partner and I kept rolling into each other when we tried to sleep. Didn't get a decent night's sleep the whole 7 nights we were there. The bathroom had the shower in the bathtub, which would have been fine. However, the bath was ridiculously high (im 167cm tall), and even i struggled getting in and out of it If you went to the toilet to do a number 2, most of the time, the toilet would block up and there wasn't a toilet scrubber in the bathroom, so you either had to call staff about the blockage or figure out your own way to unblock the toilet.

Jana (10/5): good hotel choice - The hotel is in a great location and very reasonably priced but it is an old hotel with terrible carpet and needs some painting , but that can be overlooked for the 0ther positives. A great front desk staff , a decent breakfast and great location. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

kerrylK7864WL (8/5): Nice and pleasant hotel - I stayed here with my sister in an executive twin room for her birthday . The room was spacious and the beds were really comfortable. The staff were friendly and it’s literally over the road from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The tube was also a 2 minute walk. We wasn’t told at the time of check in that the air con wasn’t working so hardly slept the first night. After letting reception know, they gave us a fan which was much better. I would have been happier being told this as then I could have requested a room change. My sister also found unwanted hairs in the bath too on our arrival. Overall lovely hotel that we would stay again. Despite the minor errors.

Jonathan (7/5): Hôtel calme et propre face à Hyde Park - Hôtel très calme à l intérieur comme à l extérieur à 2 minutes de Hyde Park. Le petit déjeuner est toujours le même ! Il pourrait y avoir des variations dans les viennoiseries , les propositions (faire des pancakes , des crêpes , des gaufres … ). Les œufs ne sont pas terribles (certainement en poudre …). On pourrait avoir des œufs sur le plat : on s attend à un petit dej anglais ! …

Christos (10/5): - Great location, virtually next to a station of the central line, and just a 10min walk from a circle line station. Started each morning with a full english breakfast at the hotel and then went off across the street, into hyde park to walk (by choice) to our target-site visit of the day. The hotel staff was super friendly, accommodating, and they prepared a nice, personalized welcome for my wife's birthday (card,with a nice message, chocolate, balloons, etc.). They helped her feel all the more special and added to the london-visit experience in the most positive way!

Guest (4/5): - Perus siisti hotelli, sijainti hyvä, hotellin respan henkilökunta mukavaa ja aikaisempi check-in onnistui pienellä lisämaksulla. Toimiva ja hyvä ilmastointi, jollei siivoja käy sammuttamassa sitä. Koska näillä helteillä (elokuussa) Lontoo on todella kuuma. Hotelli ei ole hintansa arvoinen. Aamupala ei kuulu hintaan ja erikseen ostettuna aamupala maksoi 19 gbp. Aamupala oli todella heikko, sekä laadulta että valikoimalta. Tuolla hinnalla ei todella kannata aamupalaa ostaa, saa vaikka kaupasta laadukkaamman kolmioleivän aamupalaksi. Huone siisti ja ok, mutta huoneen wc tilat todella kehnot, suihku on todella huono; kylmää/kuumaa vettä saa säädellä pitkään ja silti useasti vesi jää joko todella kuumalle tai kylmälle, suihkun kylpyammeen matosta ja ”suihkuverhosta” tuli todella epähygieninen/epäsiisti vaikutelma. Sängyssä on surkeat kivikovat tyynyt ja niska on ensimmäisen yön jälkeen todella jumissa. Hotellissa oli myös ilmeisesti ollut palohälytys, johtuen hiustenkuivaajasta. Mutta meidän huoneeseemme ei kuulunut minkäänlaista hälytystä.
Xy (8/5): Value for money - This is my 2nd time in this hotel. I love that the location is very accessible. Close to underground station, easier to get around London. The staff is very lovely, they let us check in early, around 1pm. Bed was a little bit uncomfortable, maybe it was too old. Toilet is cleaned but not prestined, you can still see some spots.
