• Russell (6/5): Early check in fee is a scam and a ripoff - Good location, quiet, clean. I have stayed at a lot of hotels of all kinds but have NEVER heard of charging a fee for early check in. This is simply a scam to extract money from customers. I could MAYBE understand if it was to arrange early check in ahead of time, but if the room is already ready when I show up, there is no reason to charge me extra just to give me the key an hour early. And waving the fee if I create a loyalty account for a hotel chain I never stay at is NOT a suitable alternative.

Housekeeping didn’t know what the procedure was for used towels etc I was sure I hadn’t included breakfast in my booking.com booking but staff insisted I had. I didn’t want breakfast there every morning but ended up eating there each day because it was paid for. I was exhausted when I checked in and didn’t follow up.

Staff were so helpful, the rooms are spotlessly clean and complimentary cold drinks (soft drink, orange juice, still water). The rooms have a small bar fridge, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. The Italian restaurant “attached” to the hotel has good value. Would definitely recommend this hotel in a safe, “quieter” part of London

Parking wasn’t too bad as we arrived 4am the only downside of parking is that you can only stay for 4 hours. Room was extremely tiny and the blinds were broken and window is right next to the bed so I got blinded by the morning sun. Made it difficult to sleep
• sailorann (6/5): Great mid range hotel that works hard for your business - I stayed here for two nights over a weekend in April. Location is a short walk from Paddington station, really like a glorified BnB. Check in was a breeze and the hotel has a restaurant attached. Rooms are very small. I was by myself and it was okay. For two it would be very tight. The place has lots of shelves and a small fridge, kettle, etc. lots of small freebies! Bathroom is small and well equipped. For a short stay with minimum suitcases it would be great.

• Bernardo (10/5): Great Value for Money! - Stayed one night at room 403 and had a really good experience. Very comfortable bed, clean, and quiet (which is very important to me). The hotel is very well located (3 min walking from Paddington and 3 min walking to Hyde Park). Very good value for money, as London can be quite pricey!! Didn't really interact much with staff, but they were polite and friendly during check-in and check-out. Overall, a great experience! Nothing really. Would be good if the room had full back-out blinders (as it got a bit lighty in the morning). Also, I guess if your room is right next to the elevator, could be a bit noisy (mine was at the corner, so it was not an issue).

Unser Zimmer war unterm Dach und es gab nur ein Fenster was einen Spalt geöffnet werden konnte, die Klima funktionierte nicht optimal so das dort die Luft nur stand.

• Chloe (5/5): Poorly organized and the rooms are not the standards of a Mercure hotel - Comfortable bedding Got « upgraded » at checkin for a so called bigger room but it was actually a room with an additional bed, which took all the additional space and more! Also the room was dark and with barely any light of day. The on we had booked originally was much nicer and cosy. Paid for 2 breakfasts and got given only one meal voucher, initially I didn’t think it would be a problem. But at breakfast, which takes place in a separate independent restaurant, my 9 year old was denied breakfast because of that and we had to go queue at the checkin desk of the hotel to be given the missing voucher, and went back to the restaurant.

The room was small, we didn’t have a lot of luggage, but there wasn’t room to open it. The bed was too firm for our comfort as a side sleeper.

• Horacio (1/5): Uninhabitable Room, Sleepless Night, and a Refund Promise Never Honored - Location I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay at this hotel on April 17–18 was so unacceptable that future guests deserve to know exactly what to expect. The room I was given was simply not fit for occupancy. The air conditioning did not work at all, leaving the room at an intolerably hot temperature with stagnant, heavy air that became difficult to breathe during the night. The only window in the room could not be opened and, even worse, faced directly onto a feet away, making it useless for ventilation or natural light. Sleeping under those conditions was nearly impossible. I immediately reported the issue to reception. The first “solution” offered was a fan, which staff then could not even locate. Around 1:00 a.m., after hours of discomfort, I was told there were no other rooms available and was casually offered relocation to another hotel in the middle of the night — an entirely unreasonable proposal at that hour. As a result, I was unable to fall asleep until approximately 4:00 a.m. To make matters worse, additional essential amenities in the room were also malfunctioning, including the refrigerator and the bathroom ventilation system. The overall condition of the room reflected a level of neglect that is completely incompatible with even basic hospitality standards. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had proactively contacted the hotel both one month before arrival and again the day prior to check-in specifically to confirm that I would be assigned a properly functioning room. I was reassured that everything would be in order. That assurance turned out to be meaningless. The following morning I raised the issue again. Although management later admitted in writing that the situation was “entirely unacceptable” and “well below the standard” they claim to uphold, the hotel’s handling of the matter afterward was equally disappointing. I was formally offered a 50% refund as compensation — and then the refund was never actually processed. So n

• Daniela (9/5): - Nettes kleines Hotel, sehr sauber, super nettes Personal, leckeres Frühstück in angegliedertem italienischen Lokal und gigantisch gute zentrale Lage (2 Straßen von der Paddington Station entfernt), trotzdem ruhig gelegen. Vom Hydepark nur ca. 5 Gehminuten. Viele schöne Pubs mit leckerem Essen um die Ecke. Für den nächsten Londontrip auf alle Fälle wieder in das Hotel. In unserem Dachzimmer konnte man das Fenster nur ein kleines Stück öffnen, da der Mauervorsprung davor war.

• Helge (7/5): Good location hotel: Quiet, clean, well equipped room, nice staff, small standard King rooms - Bright and well equipped room 4'1th floor with bathrobe, slipper, safe etc. Clean. Quiet. Nice modern look. Good location, in between 2 tube stations and close to Paddington railway station. A bit small for an elderly (70) couple. Better suites for 1 person or a bit younger couples.

• Jasmin (8/5): - Zentrale Lage zur Paddington Station. Bequemes Bett , gute Dusche, sehr sauber und gutes Frühstück. Wir hatten Glück und es war sehr ruhig und wir hatten eine erholsame Nacht. Der Preis für das Zimmer ohne Frühstück ist hoch..wir haben das Frühstück noch extra bezahlt. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein.

• Wytske (9/5): Perfect - De kamer was keurig netjes en van alle gemak voorzien. Voldoende stopcontacten, koelkast, kluis, strijkplank en strijkijzer, grote tv, dikke handdoeken, schoon , waterkoker, thee, koffie, koekjes en minibar. We grepen nergens mis op. Hadden kamer 411. Rustig gelegen. Binnendoor aan de andere kant eruit en in een paar minuten ben je op paddington station en met de heathrow express in 15 minuten op het vliegveld . In 10 minuten sta je in hyde park en Kensington Gardens. Perfect en rustig gelegen. Ontbijt in her eronder gelegen Bella Italia. Prima verzorgd! Eigenlijk niets. Kamer is klein, maar wij vonden het prima.

• Maria (8/5): Great location and helpful friendly front of house team - Location was perfect The front of house team were excellent and very helpful and welcoming Being able to leave our bags while we went exploring was fantastic Also loved the free soft drinks mini bar Our room was a bit tired and could have done with a refurb I also personally don’t like rainfall showers !

• TURGAY (10/5): - This was honestly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Our room was changed upon our request, and they gave us a beautiful and very comfortable room. We really appreciated how accommodating they were. We had accidentally booked without breakfast, but they kindly offered it to us as a complimentary gesture, which was such a lovely surprise. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always smiling. They truly made us feel welcome throughout our stay. I have never been this satisfied with any hotel before—this was truly the best experience. I’m very grateful and would absolutely love to stay here again.
