Guest Reviews
- Tricia (9/5): Would stay again - Great location. Fun neighborhood, close walk to so many good neighborhoods, close to train. Very comfy bed and strong, super hot shower. Loved the lobby and cafe TV didn’t cast properly, steamer broken. Not a huge deal though
- DiMuzio (3/5): way too expensive, even for New York City. and to charge and extra resort fee that was a shock!!!!! - Liked that there was a coffee bar and a blue bottle coffee in the main lobby. The room is very expensive for what you get. and we were told that of the $200 security deposit, we will only get $120 back because the hotel keeps an $80 resort fee. this was clearly not a resort and there was no mention of the fee when we booked it.
It was very noisy. rooms are not properly insulated for sound. the rooms are extremely small. bed was tucked into 3 walls with access available only on one side of the bed. very challenging for a couple. the shower door was falling apart. the shower handheld was positioned way too low. would have been good for a person that was 4 ft tall, not 6 ft tall. The shampoo, conditioner and soap were tucked into a shower niche and were not easily usable. someone need to try out their rooms before they rent them out.
- Laura (1/5): Will not stay here again, not recommended. - Not much Monumental rip off. Bed was broken. No one turned down the room. Bathroom was impossibly small. Room had very little privacy nor any room for the furniture that had been crammed into it. Blinds let in so much light. Thoroughly unsatisfactory.
- Yvona (8/5): -
- Cuqui (8/5): - El lobby, la ubicación La habitación era minúscula
- El Milagro (10/5): Muy lindo hotel - Location
- VICTORIA (8/5): - Inside of the property was lovely There was no full height mirror in the room
- Pornnapa (9/5): -
- Storm (9/5): Would definitely stay again! - Super friendly staff stylish room.
- Karina (8/5): Great place to stay, highly recommend, hope the missing item gets replaced to me - Well located, very comfortable and clean! Great great place to stay! Unfortunately an item I bought during my trip, went missing from the room. The front desk oriented me to contact management, who said they will replace it by mailing it to me. Hope it actually gets replaced!
- Zvi (10/5): -
- John (6/5): Adequate, but very cramped in the room. - Location. Lobby with coffee shops. Speak easy bar in the basement - Saint Tuesday. TV in room easy to navigate. Room was very small / cramped. So much so, that the basin has to be located in the room itself, not the bar room. Choice of furnishings given the lack of space was poor - big chair which there was no room for and stupid metal 4-poster on the bed, which added to the cramped feel.
- Toffetti (7/5): -
- F8502YKanah (8/5): Great location - The location is perfect to walk around and there are a lot of stores nearby. The staff is kind and friendly. Rooms are ok for staying a couple of days.
- 211peteh (8/5): Centrally located Tribeca hotel - Centrally located hotel with clean amenities and bright, compact rooms. Comfortable beds and climate controlled rooms, with the ability to open the large windows for some fresh air if needed!
- Vasiliki Martha (10/5): -
- giancarlom819 (10/5): Atmosphere - Great atmosphere and it’s easy to reach every destination …the room is confortly and with a beautiful window in front of the bed
- Daydream53005713268 (8/5): Not a bad hotel - Overall a good experience. Took a while to get checked in but staff were nice, location was great, room was small but clean.
- Explorer41733 (4/5): Even by NYC standards tiny room - We have stayed in many NYC hotels and understand they tend to be on the small side, however, the Walker Rooms are unacceptably small.
- AlanD180 (8/5): Fantastic four days in New York. - This hotel is in great location, rooms are small, however very clean and appointed well. We had an issue with when checking in which was handled very professionally by Diana and her friendly team, thank you. This is good hotel for a city break.
- Alena (9/5): -
- Alissa (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay. - The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating to all our needs.
- Holli (10/5): -
- Edouard (8/5): Good value, nice staff, nicely decorated rooms, conveniently located, great coffee shop downstairs. - Clean rooms, good design, nice lobby with tasteful decoration. Coffee places downstairs were very convenient and good although the hotel's choice/availability of pastries was limited, make sure you arrive early. Nothing specific to complain about.
- patrickjosephkenny (10/5): Had an issue but was taken care of - We had an issue, and Edwin took care of us.
- jeremykY9165ZP (6/5): Decent hotel in good location - Decent hotel for a decent price. The one thing that was slightly disingenuous is the hotel markets itself as TriBeCa, however, this hotel is clearly well within Chinatown and not TriBeCa. They should stop using TriBeCa in the name of swap it for Chinatown.
- tiffanylethaboking (10/5): Zen in NYC - Calming in the NYC buzz of Canal St
- francesco (10/5): -
- Archie (7/5): -
- Alerocca24 (9/5): -
- Susan (8/5): -
- X5775RIhansb (10/5): Good value and very friendly staff - I shared a Queen room with my son and allthough small it was enough for us since we did not travel with a lot of luggage.
The complimentary breakfeast (coffee/juice with a pastry) is tasty and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We even got water bottles for free.
On the last day we checked out in the morning and could leave ur bags at the hotel without extra cost.
Location is good with several subway stations nearby. Chinatown, financial district, Brooklyn Bridge and Soho are within walking distance. There is a deli around the corner where one can buy some healthy groceries and beer.
I would stay here again!
- calvin_treo (10/5): Excellent - Best experience I’ve had visiting New York this hotel and staff is top notch. The atmosphere was excellent, the bar down stairs , out this world , the coffee shop better than any Starbucks just an amazing place to stay
- 872elliea (10/5): Walker Hotel Tribeca - Consider This Hotel for your NY Stay! - Loved the location - central to so much sightseeing in NY - shops, Little Italy, even walking distance to the financial district and 9/11 site. The atmosphere of the hotel is a super cook, chill vibe with diverse clientele speaking many different language. The cafe on the 1st level is a great spot to grab a great cup of coffee or match, chat or people watch. The hotel rooms were very clean, a bit tight but the value was so appreciated. I really felt like we got our money's worth. The hotel staff are friendly and super helpful and professional. Noise level - well, it's NY, but I will say that they must have spent extra on the windows because they did block out a lot of street noice. Other than that the hotel was quiet.
- Steines (10/5): -
- Katesa (10/5): -
- BLANCA (10/5): -
- Victoria (8/5): -
- Hannah (9/5): Stay here for the best location, - You stay here for location. It’s a 12/10. You simply can’t get better. Rooms are TINY. I was looking for the rest of it!! It’s fine though because you’re in New York and barely spending time there. Amazing coffee bar, good small gym, lovely staff, great shower, big bed. The rooms are seriously small. Great for solo travellers or couples who really know eachother!
- juan bautistA (7/5): -
- Nadiya (7/5): -
- Ladislas (9/5): Nice place to stay for a weekend. Very good value for money - Well located, has some charm Neighbourhood around the station can be uncomfortable
- sarahlW2407LL (10/5): Great stay, we recommend ! - Very good experience in this hotel, the staff is helpful and reactive
Rooms are a little small so be prepared to organize yourself if you travel with two big luggages ! there is a space under the bed for one luggage
We had vouchers for breakfast, wich granted us a beverage and a pastry
Photos provided do justice to the hotel, it's very beautiful
- Rachel (7/5): - No hooks for hanging things up in the entry way
No clear way to call front desk
And no clear information on if there is room service etc..
the hotel phone was confusing since we couldn’t reach any parts of the hotel on it
- MzsTWright (10/5): Wonderful experience! - Just wish to say a big "Thank You" for your hospitality an too highlight how amazing, warm and friendly the staff was especially Talia & Nate at the front desk & John the Night Manager and John the restaurant lead supervisor and Edwin. They all made my birthday very special.
- Stefania (10/5): I loved it! - Modern boutique awesome view clean and the staff fantastic Nothing
- GlobeLooker (9/5): Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms - Location - Room view - Helpful staff All good!
- Extraordinary599856 (4/5): Cold showers - I had cold water only in the shower upon arrival, and it was very late, the guy who could fix it was gone. They offered to let me shower in another room but then said that the hotel was full that night, and they offered to call the guy to ask him to come back and fix the shower but it would take time. It was around 10.30pm and I had a long flight which was 4h delayed so I told the person that I needed to sleep, so I decided to take the cold shower. Taking tis opportunity to also say that the hold for shampoos etc. is very unpractical, doesn't allow to press the bottles to get the product out quickly, and trust me when you are in a cold shower this feel very painful :'(. I think they should ask their employees to take a shower at the hotel and I'm sure anyone in their right mind would confirm that this is just so impractical.
So, the shower was supposed to have been fixed the day after, as I kindly reminded the front desk when leaving for the day the morning after my arrival. Sadly, the morning after, when I wanted to shower before my day, turns out the water was still cold. I was in a rush as I came for work, for fashion week, and couldn't afford to wait to find a solution, so I had to go through with it, again.
Honestly, I was hoping someone would say something to me upon check out and offer me a kind of discount, or an apology and make the couple first nights free or something, because I don't understand how a four star hotel can get you to take 2 cold shower when it's like 0 degrees outside, there should be a law against that.
It was my second time staying at the Walker, I usually stay at The Standard or the Public. I don't think I'll stay again sadly, despite the location being great and the staff being super nice, I can't take the risk of cold showers ever again...
- rebeccawM1294EW (10/5): yes, stay here - Great location- hidden gem- rooms are small but very functional- king bed was very comfy - staff was kind and welcoming- two thumbs up
- Jordan (10/5): Best hotel I've stayed in NY. Lovely staff. Modern. Clean! - Best hotel I've stayed in at New York. Lovely staff, clean and modern rooms, great working area with cafe and restaurant, bang in the center of everything! Gym was small but had enough to have a few decent workouts. Rooms are a bit small but its NY!
- Lucas (5/5): -
- David (4/5): Bad sleep - Location, reasonably modern design Zero sound proofing in windows, incredibly noisey. Rooms also very very small
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Ryan (9/5): Very nice clean and good location. - Location was very nice, not far from the action but not right in it. 2 blocks from Soho and just a small metro ride from the rest of the city. Hotel is clean staff is nice, but the beds are on the small side. Rooms get cleaned every day which is a major plus. Beds could be a bit bigger but not a must. Where some cozy nights with my wife haha.
- Ellen (7/5): Average - We loved the location Staff could’ve been friendlier
- Marko (5/5): -
- Sydney (4/5): Overpriced. Deceptive photos. Terrible views; unfriendly staff. -
- thomas (10/5): -
- David (2/5): A $700-a-night sweatbox with broken lights, tiny room, and “cozy king” sound like a cruel joke. - Nothing, really. A $700-a-night sweatbox with broken lights, no fridge, no coffee, a door that won’t close, and a fan instead of air conditioning—this dump makes “cozy king” sound like a cruel joke, and I’ll never stay here again.
- Justin (10/5): -
- James (8/5): - Fantastic location, great restaurant and cafe area Room was a little too tight for a comfortable stay as a couple
- Karolina (10/5): -
- Ben (9/5): -
- Alice (8/5): -
- Joseph (4/5): Substandard stay at your hotel - We love the hotel and the area. You put us in a room with no heat and then moved us to a room with no heat. And your staff member got into a heated discussion with my wife.
- Cassandra (6/5): For the price, I expected better. - Location, location, location One of two elevators out of order. Extremely tiny room. On Saturday morning, I could not sit in the hotel lobby and have my coffee because the entire floor space was taken by a yoga class. In the hotel lobby! I don’t think all of the guests should be deprived of the use of the lobby because of a yoga class. No coffee maker or fridge in room.
- Julia (7/5): Observations = great overall. Would book again. Experience would benefit from better maintenance. - overall, the location and accommodations were convenient and gave access to the city easily.
Having an EXCELLENT restaurant and cafe/ plus Blue Bottle for coffee = great.
Staff = Young, hip, friendly responsive. Facts - confusing wall-screen touch-system for in-room heating / temp control. Would be helpful to have some guidance at the time of check-in.
A second elevator was not working which meant that, at many times it was a long wait or we took the (awkward) stairs; signage on the main floor indicated that the '2nd elevator' problem would momentarily be fixed, but it was not fixed for an entire week.
- Raul (10/5): The room was small, but well designed - It’s was clean and a restaurant in building You can’t order food from your room
- Katarina (10/5): -
- Solhjoo (10/5): A great upscale staycation that prioritizes comfort. - The hospitality, restaurant and coffee shop on-site, east access, and close to transportation. Minor concern, our TV didn’t connect. We were there for 1 night and had plans, however we were looking forward to watching some new years specials.
- Franck (10/5): -
- Andy (10/5): -
- Leticia (8/5): -
- Harrison (10/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Gaia Barbara (9/5): Excellent solution in NY for position, comfort and breakfast! - Excellent position, supernice staff and very comfortable room. There is a very good coffee+bakery solution at the entrance that had excellent pastries selection! The hotel has a speakeasy that proposes amazing live music at convention prices! One of the lifts was unavailable and the whole process of going up and down was very slow
- Robert (5/5): Not recommended for a family. We stayed in two seperate rooms but the rooms were still small for two - The location was very touristy. And the streets around the hotel were pretty hectic/ messy.
- Edward (9/5): - nice spot a little off the path, small but comfortable room.
this is my 4th visit and very happy one elevator has been out of service
tv service not great
- tamara (9/5): Det var toppen! Kommer tillbaka! - Bra location, super trevlig personal!
- Lianne (8/5): - Good location. The rooms are small, it is fine for one night but maybe not longer than a couple of days.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Mingming (10/5): -
- Filipe (10/5): -
- Anna-Lena (10/5): -
- sholtee (4/5): Comfortable, cozy, poor maintained! - Having returned from the amazing NYC I feel compelled to write a review of the hotel we stayed in. We were fully aware that the room would be small, after all its NYC Baby.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful however I was disappointed with the experience and expected so much more. On arrival we were excited to see our room and head to sleep after a long day of travelling. On entering the room I was shocked at just how small it was, the sink is in the bedroom not in the shower room, there was one very narrow wardrobe with two upper shelves or so we thought (I will come back to this), and two draws under the bed (which touches a wall on 3 of 4 sides). Our pragmatic approach to the room size was that we only plan to sleep in the room so it doesn’t matter.
We decided to shower, unpack, get some sleep before our adventures start. So on entering the shower I discover the shower gel and shampoo were empty!! On exiting the shower I noticed there was only one robe and one pair of slippers yet the booking was for two!
I then started to unpack, I opened the wardrobe door and starting hanging my clothes. As I placed my folded items on the top shelf a Plume of dust choked me, there was no note not to use the top shelf. I then discovered multiple wires and boxes on the shelf surrounded by a life time of dust (see picture).
The draw under the bed had a sharp piece of metal snapped to a point jutting out of the side of the draw! This in itself is dangerous and I am shocked that the house keeping staff did not highlight it to maintenance, although maybe I shouldn’t be surprised as they clearly couldn’t see the dust and dirt in the room, or the ball bearings from the draw runner on the floor.
So off to bed I went, plugged in my usb charger for my phone to find the charging port to the left of the bed didn’t work and was also covered in dust!!
NYC is known as the city that doesn’t sleep and now I know why, before 8am we were rudely awoken by numerous loud banging, and walls shaking. I went outside our room to discover we were opposite a fire escape door with a push bar. In front of the fire escape stairs was a trolley laden with towels, and a male member of staff folding said towels he had clearly been pushing the bar and allowing it to slam closed each time he entered (at least 8 times in the space of two minutes), I highlighted that he had woken us however this continued each morning.
There was dust on the floor which remained for our entire stay along with dust and hairs next to the bed. The drinking glasses remained unwashed after the first use however we received a nice hand written welcome note from the house keeping staff on day three I assume hoping for a tip, however I am unsure why they would expect this when all it appears they did was make the bed and replace the towels.
On the second day we raised the issues to the reception staff who were very friendly and apologetic. They accommodated us having a later check out on our last day free off charge and said that maintenance would amend the issues however this did not happen!
A few days in to the trip when grabbing a T-shirt from the wardrobe shelf I scrapped my finger on a sharp protruding screw in the side of the wardrobe, there were two…see photo.
These could easily have damaged my clothes.
Our stay included a hot drink and pastry for breakfast the coffee was wonderful and the pastry’s enjoyable, the service at the coffee shop inside the hotel was friendly and welcoming.
The location of the hotel was great for us, close to the subway, near little Italy, away from the busy time square and surrounded by nice bars and restaurants.
Luckily we only used the room as somewhere to sleep and I have to say the bed was extremely comfortable. This hotel has potential but lacks attention to detail, maintenance and cleanliness.
- Julio Cesar (10/5): - Thanks for everything, the staff is amazing
- F65DYjamesk (10/5): Fantastic stay - A lovely stay! Brandi was fantastic and a huge help at the front desk when checking out. I would come back to stay again in an instant!
- mattia (9/5): Ottimo soggiorno - Posizione, arredamenti curati, staff gentilissimo, presenza di una caffetteria annessa all’hotel La camera risultava essere abbastanza piccola. Curata in ogni dettaglio ma comunque un po’ piccola, adatta magari a brevi soggiorni.
- javiergN8776ZU (10/5): We Checked In… and Didn’t Want to Leave!! - My wife and I stayed at Walker Hotel Tribeca for three nights, and this was our second time here, which really says it all. We love the location it’s right in the middle of Tribeca and makes getting around the city super easy.
The hotel has a cozy, stylish boutique vibe, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, comfortable, and a great place to unwind after long days exploring New York.
A huge plus is the restaurant Mostrador, which is right in the building. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food is always delicious, and it’s so convenient to have such a great spot just steps away.
We had another great stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfortable, well located place with a great atmosphere.
Thanks for the hospitality!!
