Verified traveler (6/5): London trip - I was moved to the Crown Plaza re maintenance work being carried out at Holiday in Express Old Street. Lovely hotel however this added 1hr each day for travelling over to Shoreditch on the tube which I was trying to avoid using. The hotel was clean however I was quite amazed that they only clean, replenish tea/coffee/water if you ask! this is not done on a daily basis.

Jon (6/5): Judt about ok - This was ok, quite standard. The beds were not too great and the pillows uncomfortable, so I was unable to get the best of sleeps. Cleanliness was good in the communal areas and the rooms were ok. I assume due to lockdown the rooms don't get cleaned between stays. It's not a big deal, but it means things like cups aren't cleaned, there's not enough tea/coffee for the stay. I've stayed twice since the relaxation of lockdown, I'll probably try a different hotel when I'm back in a couple of weeks.

Paul (10/5): Family stay - Hotel was in a great location beside underground. Hotel itself was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The sofa bed is only suitable for kids as it was spring and not comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern and the shower excellent with brilliant pressure. Staff were very kind and the kids were treated to a small packet of sweets after breakfast each morning. Would recommended for great value and location.

The front desk employees were very helpful, and the breakfast in the morning is good. The housekeeping could be better but was sufficient. This is a good place to stay if you plan to be out exploring the city and want a comfortable place to stay but don't need a lot of amenities.
Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location and that's the only nice thing I can say about it. The staff were miserable. Nobody smiled. Cigarette smoke filtered into the room. The room we were given on our first night was just absolutely gross (like it hasn't been cleaned for months, especially the bathroom). The second room had a kettle that was dirty. The sofa was disgusting. And even though we were on the 4th floor we could still hear people on the street yelling, fighting or laughing, which made sleep close to impossible. The list goes on.

My only complaint is I wish my sheets had been changed slightly more often. This location is great for London tourists, especially younger folks, looking to stay in a fun area. The restaurants and bars here and so cool and fun, especially places like the Hoxton, Blues Kitchen and Old Street Records. I would stay here again.

Would stay here again, but if same experience in future, will change my regular bookings

It was so close to our venue which made the party enjoyable as only walking distance away! Gillian (8/5): Great location and inclusive breakfast a winner! - Perfect location - 5mins from Old Street station. Sainsburys right next door if you need anything. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars to choose from within in walking distance. We had a family room but sofa bed a bit uncomfy. However, great shower and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was a great advantage for the price - coffee, juice, hot and col buffet. They even have cups and paper bags if you want to grab and go. Will definitely use again!

The only thing the hotel needs is a microwave for guest either in the rooms or the kitchen area. Also, the iron is attached to the ironing board so the cord needs to be longer makes it hard to iron.

Verified traveler (4/5): Fine if you don’t like sleep! - The hotel is positioned close to one of the main junctions in Shoreditch close to Old Street station. I was placed on the 2nd floor at the front of the property, so close to the road. The windows did nothing to prevent the relentless noise from emergency vehicles, normal traffic and people on the streets. Safe to say I had a terrible nights sleep. I also specifically requested a double bed, I understood they couldn’t guarantee this but when I asked at reception why I’d been given a single I got a frosty response. As I travel for work and a good nights sleep is a priority, safe to say I’ll be avoiding this place again! If your looking for a big night out in Shoreditch and you fully expect to pass out at 3 or 4am then this hotel is ideally located for you!
Leong (10/5): - Booked this at the last-minute after checking out early from a prior terrible hotel in the Kensington area. Stayed 3 nights, and very pleasantly surprised by the decently-sized room and bathroom and overall updated/clean condition of the premises. Next morning was again pleasantly surprised by the excellent breakfast provided which included hot/cold foods -- basically everything you could imagine. Would definitely stay here again if in the London City Centre area and would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

melissa (8/5): Good Stay - This was my first time traveling overseas so i chose a hotel brand I was familiar with. The room was nice and clean. I did not like the refillable hand soap and body wash holders in the restroom. I think the hotel should provide individual toiletries to the clients. You could see the refill lines in the bottle. I am glad we packed our own shampoo and body wash. Also, the toilet in our room was loose from the wall tile. Overall a good stay for 2 nights.

Adele (8/5): Great hotel in Shoreditch - Once you're on the formerly non-smoking side of the building the rooms are fine (one side of the building used to be smoking before it was banned and the old smoke smell is still there). The reception people were very nice in switching us to the quieter and non-smelly side of the hotel. The rooms were very clean and of a nice size for London, and their breakfast is also fine. The bedding was very comfy. Only weird thing was the day we were checking out there was a strong bleach smell coming from the cleaning supply trolley in the hallway that we could smell all the way into the room. Since we were leaving anyway, we weren't too affected by it, though I hope it's safe for the nice ladies who are cleaning the rooms since they're breathing in that stuff all the time!

Jennifer (8/5): Family Trip - Our stay was great! We were able to check in early, which was awesome since we did a red eye and needed to freshen up for the day! Breakfast was great and they even got some gluten free items from the kitchen for us. Just plan extra time for breakfast because it was super busy and they seat you so there was a line. The location is near some bars but it really didn’t bother us, even with kids. It’s close to the subway and near eateries along the way! The rooms are small and some extra and the pull out couch was uncomfortable according to my kids but other than that, no complaints!
Michaela (8/5): - We booked this property kind of last minute and considering we were in London during an extremely busy time, Wimbledon and peak tour season, I was pleasantly surprised I was able to get a decent hotel on such short notice. So I’ll start with the good stuff and work to the “needs improvement”. The location of the property was great! Close to the Underground, lots of amazing food options, restaurants, pubs, etc. If you are young and into the night life, holy cow was this close to some great clubs, bars, pubs etc. The hotel was clean, staff great, breakfast was basic but delicious, traditional, and pretty great... and the basic amenities pleasing. Things I was a little disappointed in: no wash clothes, so no real way to clean our bodies and faces. Soap (both hand & the shower body/hair) that was provided was very drying. Left my skin thirsty and my hair feeling very brittle. I think lotion and conditioner should and can be provided considering how much we paid. Beds were okay but not the greatest... not asking for a pillow top but they felt so worn out, kind of lumpy. And the breakfast, while for adults it was pretty good, it would be nice if there was a little more kid options. All in all, I would give this Hotel a 7.5/8 out of 10. There are just a few things I would look at “upgrading”.

I had reserved a twin room as I was sharing with another adult and was told on arrival that there were no twin rooms were left and that the request for a twin room was not guaranteed. After showing them my receipt they offered us a room with a bed settee to make it up as the other bed. I was also asked to fill in a form stating where I was from and was asked for an identity card. None of which I have been asked for before.

Andrea (10/5): Great Experience at Holiday Inn - Great Location, walking distance to the tube, supermarket next door. The hotel itself provided an excellent buffet breakfast and our room was modern and clean. The staff was helpful and very thoughtful. Our check out was at 4am, so it meant we would miss out on breakfast which started at 6:30am, so the lovely reception ladies prepared a continental breakfast to go for us, along with coffee. This simple gesture made our stay in London and the Holiday Inn extra special. Simple kindness goes a long way, so we thank you for our experience and we hope to see you again.
Michole (8/5): Family Vacation. - There is nothing horrible to say about this hotel. It was a good place to lay our heads at night. The beds weren’t the best, our made all sorts of noises whenever you moved but we were so tired it didn’t really matter. The roll out bed for our daughter worked but wasn’t the best. She kept busting her knee on it cause the mattress was super thin. The bathroom was nice and the shower was worth it. The breakfast was ok, the women that ran the breakfast area was rude to the help, if you got to reprimand them don’t do it in front of us. The hotel was just a few minutes from the tube, that was a major plus. All in all it was a ok place to stay.
